JJ that turnover number obviously jumps off the page in 14 in the first half you I know you would expected them to be super physical that impacts it some but where did you see most of the turnovers coming from and how how much of a key factor was it they came in a number of ways um some passes that we tried to fit through Tight Windows um never want to inbound the ball to the other team uh after a Midfield goal and give up a dunk um some of it you know not holding our positioning and timing our our sort of physicality to get open on Horns I think we had three turnovers just on Horns alone uh yeah I mean killed us we came into tonight talking about the benefits of the rest and the four days off from games how much did you feel that I guess unintended consequence of side effects of just Russ came back to haunt you guys tonight um I’ll give them some credit that’s that’s what they do and um you know not only do they have the physical uh makeup on the perimeter they know that they can be aggressive because then there’s gobear behind there um so it’s it’s a lot of it is you know their their um their team but overall though we we we’re able to generate some great looks from three um just feels like we were can’t can’t really get into that Rhythm from from behind the ark and you know another another game where we shoot some good threes and just can’t can’t knock them down is is there anything that can can be done about that I mean you’re getting I mean DLo had a a wide open Corner three with a chance to cut it late um I mean Dalton badly missed a a wide openen three I mean is there anything that can be done about this or is it simply just keep creating the shots and yeah I think you have to trust the process of running good offense and getting good looks and trust that those shots will in the aggregate go in more the um you you mentioned the their physicality and and I’ve asked you a bunch about your team’s physicality have you do you feel like you guys have made headways in terms of playing a more physical style particularly on the defensive end some of the guys have yeah some of the guys have um you know overall I really thought that was probably our best defensive game we’ve had all season um you even even when we got stops turnovers you know I don’t know what are it says we were four for six on Fast Break points that’s a lie um we just weren’t able to to convert on the other end but we were able to get stops get a lot of stops um you know Gabe Max um Austin had a great clip of him at halftime I think um their physicality ruy their physicality is is is good right now the um there was a play I think in the third quarter but you guys had a bunch of plays like this where you guys had gotten it to like five or something like that and 80 gets a stop makes like an incredible defensive play um saves the ball gets stopped brings it up the court and like the ball just like squirts out of his hands and it felt and then I think Naz Reed hits a three and it’s eight again um did did it feel like Whenever there was that kind of maybe like that one next play to be made yeah yeah you know and it’s interesting because I think there’s um there’s a control of the game that you can take or relinquish and it felt like they had control of the game and anytime we got close to sort of being able to be in a position that we could potentially re gain control uh kind of shot ourselves in the foot uh with honestly with with with turnovers a lot and even you know we’re down five uh 87 82 and we get a stop and ruy gets the rebound and I you know 8’s just trying to make a play and get the ball and he knocks out ru’s hands McDaniel gets a layup um it just felt like you know may one of those nights that uh that stuff happened but our group competed we were connected we had the right Spirit um you know I I very encouraged by that I I think you can you could build off of that you can build off some of the stuff we did defensively from a scheme standpoint and again we’re trying to figure out kind of what works with our switching groups and I thought what we did tonight was was good um so I’m encouraged what progress have you seen from ch Christian over the last several weeks since he made his return especially building off of performances I think tonight three blocks several rebounds and 12 minutes well I I’m hoping he can build off of tonight because that was the best he’s played um there was uh one uh coverage call that he missed uh when Dillingham hit his second three in the second half uh on a on a ram screen and he came up and um didn’t didn’t give Cam the right coverage call outside of that he you know he was he was awesome tonight and I think his activity um his Rim protection um you know that’s his that’s his skill he’s got great length um when he’s talking and and it’s funny because you know there is some carryover from practice where it was the most vocal we heard him on Wednesday and then he comes into theight and has a great game so uh yeah he can build on that J just following up on that a little bit with kco but you know you had started the year with some of the two big looks when Jackson was healthy into some success of course he he’s hurt now Christian’s hurt you got to get to know the the two-way guys teams aren’t typically using them in the rotation that much right how has have you thought about trying to get back to some of those looks or have the limitations of who you can play no I haven’t just any reason why uh the two big looks yeah like when yeah it’s not a good fit and I frankly I don’t think it’s a great fit with Jackson either so um you know I I I think we’re um we’re really encouraged I know he wasn’t he didn’t have a great you know shooting night tonight in terms of scoring the basketball but we’re really encouraged with kind of the the growth ru’s had and um you know whether it’s LeBron or ruie uh playing the four uh with with Jackson or Colo so we like that [Music] better definitely a lot take away there from what reic said but the main thing here have to be turnover is along with their inability to score points I mean you’re not going to win in the modern NBA scoring 87 points even with them holding the t-wolves 97 points I mean that’s great don’t get me wrong but when you’re scoring under 90 you’re not going to win a game in the modern NBA and then on top of that their carelessness with the ball they had 21 turnovers in this one including 11 during the first quarter a new season ey for them and that’s not a record they want to be breaking I mean you would think after a 4-day break they would be a lot more locked in more careful with the ball and running their offense bit more efficiently but that happened to be anything about the case tonight obviously no LeBron and that hurt them their offense definitely didn’t have a true point guard out there especially with them not starting D’Angelo Russell and then with do having a rough game himself and that definitely hurt their fluidity within their offense and ability to get the ball where they wanted to nobody in their starting lineup had under two turnovers haimura had three Christy had four Anthony Davis had four Reeves had two and then Vincent had three and then Off the Bench not much different D had two connect had one reddish had one and although kco didn’t have any of them that’s the only guy in their entire team that played who did not have a turnover tonight again racking up 20 one of them and that’s pretty awful especially when combined with your team shooting 38% from the field and 28% from three all around an awful game for them offensively couldn’t seem to get anything rolling for any prolonged duration sure they had a few good moments a few good stretches but nothing they maintained throughout the entire game and they only had one guy score over 20 points being Anthony Davis and he did it fairly inefficiently or at least for his standards only shooting about 47% from the field and 20% from three so not good especially with other guys around him not picking it up Austin reevs had an okay game especially coming back from injury got to give him that but apart from him nobody really shot the ball well they got very little bench production D unfortunately played pretty awful in this one shooting two of 10 from the field one of seven from Beyond The Arc connect didn’t have a good game didn’t make a three-point shot reddish played okay defensively but not much offensively and then the same for Koko he actually played really good defense this one and got to give him credit for their lone bright spot in this game I’d probably say it would have to be Christian Koko and chrisy on defense too but apart from that very little to like about this game and it’s really not hard to see why they got beat I mean even by looking at the box score in this one you can kind of tell where they got beat shooting poorly from the field and three-point line losing the free throw line battle and not shooting well from the free throw line on top of that only 11 of 17 from the free throw line not winning the rebound battle or at least not by much only by one rebound and then having 21 turnovers again not good all around poor offensive game for them and even though a decent defensive game not enough to make up for how poor they played offensively and with that being said what do you guys think what were your takeaways in this game and how the Lakers can improve going forward let me know your thoughts in the comments down below but I think that will pretty much do it for this one and if you enjoyed the video then I’ll greatly appreciate it if you Dro a like subscribe to the channel if you have not already and hit that notification Bell to
