all right it’s Bill here and yes I’m going to give a weekend review of the hockey games uh it’s the holiday season um had to do a little socializing on Saturday and uh basically in the world darts Championship started yesterday I watched nearly six hours of hockey in four hours of Dart so you can see I really moved a lot and it can showed my figure but anyways uh here’s my thoughts on the 4-2 loss to the Detroit wed wings and the 5-3 win over the Buffalo sabes in both of these games the leaes played what do they look like a team that can dominate yeah okay second third period against Buffalo well I wouldn’t even say second or third period half a game against Buffalo and there were times against Detroit where they were moving the puck around pretty nicely and but not getting shots to the net missing the net quite a bit uh both games I thought NE Lander stood out so he showed up for both games I don’t know but I don’t think he was really rewarded on the the score sheet a little bit but looked like he was going uh but let’s start with the Detroit game there’s a couple thoughts I have right off the bat we’ll talk about the patch of pretty nonsense at the beginning of this game okay I kind of saw it we were unfortunately socializing I saw Ben shro jump him on I saw a knee or whatever but I watched it okay so I and I did not know this amount about Max Patrick are pretty apparently he likes to run people I I watched him on Montreal I saw him get destroyed uh but I guess now he’s come to the Leafs he’s got a minimum contract he can’t do what he used to do so he’s taken it himself to play a physical game which isn’t a bad thing it’s not a bad thing I’m glad he’s playing a physical game the the hit that he put on Jack Hughes and the attempted hit on to Brink now to Brink didn’t get hurt so it stop the crying but he he was trying to run him just like you did did jause uh and to break it saw at last second tried to bail it of the way that’s going to craze the or cause the kneeon knee hit here’s what I’m not excited about at all you’re going to do that stuff you’re going to run players like got like hey it’s cool I’m cool run players all you want right a clean hit run them no problem now can you imagine if this hit was done on Austin Matthews Marner uh neander like what what the leaf fans response would be to that I would I would love to know a kneeon knee hit on Austin Matthews how the tronto maple leaf fan base would take that hit so we got to look at it that way he you got to deal with him now here’s my problem with the dealing with him they tried but there’s a thing called a turtle crawls into his shell if you’re going to do that you got to stand up I’m sorry that I’m going to get upset about this but I’ve how many times have I seen you jacqulyn debrusk do a kneeon knee hit on codrey and then go to the turtle how many time like I’m sick and tired of people being able to do this in the NHL without any repercussions you got to if you’re going to do that and you go knee on knee you better be prepared to drop the gloves you better be someone’s coming to get you cuz they’re not going to sit there and watch you imagine if Austin Matthews took this hit and no one on the leaf had a response and then when they did respond the guy turtled what we would be thinking about that player like that player what would you think about him well that’s what I think about Max Patcher pretty I’m not shocked he comes from the Montreal Canadians organization not shocked at all I’ve lost a lot of respect I I go go be effective go throw your hits and go hide why do we need players like this on our team that’s the one thing that I I just can’t I’m sorry I thought it was I thought again I don’t think he meant to KN him but he was going to try to run him that if if de Brink didn’t get out of the way he was taking a massive hit and what would the what would the red blings response but have been been the same he’s just going to go down and turtle I douge Hamilton I don’t know what he did to him but I think he gave him a love tap on the back but at no point did Pat pretty want to stand up so you’re going to throw hits like that no problem I just don’t like the respon response reminded me of jacqulyn debrusk and as a leaf fan I I don’t I don’t like that stuff I don’t uh we get into the rest of the game again goena is not our issue I thought wall played pretty decently um shots that went in he couldn’t see the first one uh we’ll get to the third one uh and just a second but I I was sort of watching the game where we went to a bar or whatever and like I thought I just the Lea are gonna win this game it’s the same thought I had um couple games ago I thought least she going to win this game they’re the more talented team like watching Detroit they’re not you know and when they we’ll tell we’ll talk well maybe we’ll talk about the goal that was disallowed was it offside yes it was millimeters offside um so by law that’s that’s that’s offside what I’d love to know is why did they throw the or called the throw the stick cuz the Detroit guy threw a stick there’s a stick that floats through there uh when the the puck is picked up I think it was by nce if the stick wasn’t there KN go straight up and it’s not offside so if you’re going to review it why don’t you catch the penalty while you’re there with the throw the stick so that goal gets disallowed okay again the Leafs are you know pretty decent uh in little stretches in that second period um the again I they were they were owning there was a couple offensive shifts where they they Dam left the Detroit Zone and then they take a shot what were the shots on net 20 25 for the least felt like way more than that but anyways you got Austin Matthews on the power play scoring to make it one 1-1 and then uh the Morty SI or The Cider goal again just in front of the just St it was a weird game and then n got the nice deflection and it’s 22 and everything you’re good like at that point I’m thinking like the least are winning this game there’s no problem and then you got Johnny I by the way no re report in this game you’ll get the re report in just a second okay so I’m going to lay down something here okay yes I’m biased against Johnny T I’ve hated him I watched Johnny t play in Junior at Oshawa and the first thought that went through my mind is that guy can’t skate they got this guy’s a 15 yetti hands to burn and he showed it in Buffalo he can’t skate okay so this is my first opinion now I also watched uh PK suban pay for the bille Bulls and thought he might be the worst defenseman I’ve ever seen he turned out to have a good NHL career I couldn’t believe the hyper on the guy okay so I would not be a good scout I guess but take a look at this third goal by Petri just watch Johnny T now you if we’re going to get into this conversation about Johnny T and how I’m so negative about him okay okay I am negative I would have preferred that $1 million 7 years ago was put into the defense I would have thought that was the best play our defense got some money this year how’s it acting a little bit better little bit put some into the goal tending we put $1 million into this guy he isn’t the best second line Center in the NHL I would suggest he’s probably not even the best third line Center Center okay Bill his contract aged awful yeah yeah he sucked from the beginning his first year he got points cuz Mitch Marner danced around and that’s who he should be playing with yeah he scored a hatrick against Buffalo Bill yeah one hit him one was an empty net so he scored one goal really was a nice shot against Buffalo most NHL goalie stopped that but he’s shooting against an AHL goalie and where’re sitting here every freaking announcer saying what a great year Taris is having I’m watching a different game a different game than all of you a game where the like they skate and they go into boards and lose battles all the time watch them please for the love of watch them let’s talk about this third goal against Detroit he’s with Petri now it took him seven years to get there but he’s with Petri and Petri stops at the net you know why you stop at the net cuz that’s where you going to score goals right John Glides by the way I could have gone to Tim Horton’s got a coffee by the time he glided past you Petri and left him by himself to bang home the third goal what I heard was oh Bill the coach got mad at Matthews for the turnover by the way awful turnover on The Cider goal okay so you should be yelling at Matthews for sure but you should also be yelling at joh for skating past the player in front of the net that was completely Johnny T’s goal so Johnny T this $1 million superstar having an amazing year I hear just cost the least two points I didn’t hear anything from any anybody I had a chance to go through the nothing 3-2 empty Netter 4-2 I thought Marner played good in the Detroit game I didn’t think Matthews was very good thought neander was half decent just in front of the net just losing battles you can’t have that let’s get to the Buffalo game that first period was absolute drek until the third line showed up so what was the difference so you went with the homberg who else was in the lineup for the I think they put in Timmons oh um so they oh sorry U McMahon came back and again McMahon first game didn’t look didn’t look bad but that third line now looks pretty pretty decent with Robertson Robertson got a chance to get back in because of all the poor play as like home Burg still to the lineup and they put DOI uh Robertson and McMahon together and that’s just a slightly better third line that we’ve seen the last couple weeks and that showed against the Buffalo game so the first two the first period tired and I’m saying well didn’t Buffalo play the night before yeah they got Devin Levi against Dennis hild Toby in the net you can see why these are AHL goalies so the first goal again shot short side power play I didn’t like it the second goal Jake mccab screened them didn’t like it but the doy the third line great play by behind the net by Robertson to get it out front of the net and then doy actually shot the puck which is good and he looks like he is trying to shoot and he makes it 2-1 okay second period man that first 10 minutes they could put that on the category of the most boring hockey to watch nothing is happening nothing and all of a sudden Buffalo gets an opportunity again it was a shot I forget the guy who shot it so I’m going to take a look at it here oh was Jack Quinn with the second goal of the game now that one was a little bit better he was a horrible turnover which led to a give or left left to a odd man rush and Jack Quinn looked he was going to go off then he came back on and he fires at home boom and it’s 3-1 I’m like you got to be kidding me but then the SEC the SEC the third line again Robertson beautiful and then Johny hits him in the kneecap and I’m supposed to cheer for this but what an a talented goal and then I watched the third period we’re sorry after that Johnny T got a nice pass from who was it from it was from uh Chris T of yeah it was nice pass uh further than that he rings at home which anyl goalie stops uh so now you’ve got what three goals that shouldn’t be in the net two for Buffalo one for Toronto third period the Leafs did dominate there’s no doubt about it Buffalo the men at the the men at the third goal went in Buffalo stopped playing it was pretty bad Buffalo’s a bad bad team yeah I can see where they lost 10 in a row so we shouldn’t be patting ourselves on the shoulders for beating the Buffalo Sabers at home when they’re on a 10 game losing streak or 10 games where they’ve lost they not they didn’t get points uh and then the third B okay so let’s talk about the Johnny t on Bowen Byrum uh okay yeah hands great hands Bowen Byrum should be ashamed of himself that was bad anyways tell me how Johnny T is the best player in the world please tell me I can’t wait can’t wait to see he’s definitely definitely in the top 10 he obviously made the Canadian hockey team because they’re stupid uh you know like put him in the Hall of Fame already he’s just such an Allstar he should be on the allstar team for sure I he’s having such a great year right everybody yeah Johnny Tay he I’m sure they’ll pick him oh I guess there is no All-Star Game this year maybe not but he should be on Team Canada second line Center for sure can’t see why they he’ be passed up he’s such an amazing talent skates like the wind you got to put him on anyways he gets an empty Netter hatrick let’s throw hands up in the air great goal so let me get this right you got hit in the knee pad with a shot from Austin Matthews on the power play you played 30 minutes of hockey in this game cuz they didn’t play the first 30 except for the third line the third line was the most dominant line on there anyways here’s Ryan [Music] re as he played in the second game a little bit of a different number in here 0 0 0 minus one0 0 says five hits didn’t throw five I watched the game show me the five it also said that Max Patch a pretty had five hits yeah okay okay anyways um there’s your report again hopefully I’ll be a little bit better in terms of timing if you want there’s going to be some darts videos that I’m going to do as well world championship of darts has started uh Luke Humphrey’s or through the first round yesterday I basically as you can tell didn’t move off the couch from probably about 12:00 on Cheers
