welcome back so there’s been a trade yeah yeah I got to interrupt my hockey watching to talk about this trade which I’m I’m fine with uh it is it is a relatively quiet night there’s just the five games on all night and there’s only one that’s currently in process and there’s one about to start in a couple minutes so it’s as good a time as any to do this video um unless I wanted to do it after all the games are done which is late on the East Coast so let us discuss Seattle and the New York Rangers and I’m wearing Seattle because I believe they get the best player in the trade they pick up kok kako who’s 23 years of age there is always that potential that he might break through and Seattle has a good track record of players doing well who are traded to them at a young age so this season with the Rangers kaco 30 games played four goals 10 assists 14 points uh in his career in New York 330 games played 61 goals 70 assists for 131 points he was a number two draft pick in 2019 there was a lot of hype around kako when he was drafted he has not lived up to that hype there’s flashes in his game here and there and I I think honestly the move to Seattle is what’s needed I think he’s needed a change of scenery for a while so I would thank him coming out publicly and having some some words about his being a healthy scratch might have sped this up keep in mind that the roster freeze happens tonight so this is about the latest they could possibly have traded him going the other way to the Rangers will borgan 27 years of age defenseman 33 games this year one goal one assist two points he produced pretty well last year in his career 247 games played nine goals 46 assists for 55 points good third pairing option I guess Seattle decided they had enough defensive depth to make this move uh the Rangers also add a 2025 third round pick and a 2025 6th round draft pick so the New York Rangers uh this is you know moving players around again first they get venan from Anaheim now they get borgan from Seattle they’re trying to improve that defensive depth we know their defense has not been good enough uh we know that the blame there’s a lot of it to go around and it does feel like you know as we head into this roster freeze where players can’t get traded for the next 10 days CU it’s Christmas uh that coming out of that roster freeze we could see further movement uh the the word about how much um discontent there is in the locker room it’s there and I think it’s there for a reason um I don’t really get into that stuff on the channel I don’t know if people have noticed there’s a lot of talk in this market about who does or doesn’t like each other I’m not getting into that um cuz it it just gets into Petty name calling and it and it happens all the time when a team’s not doing well when a team’s doing well that all falls by the wayside and right now things have not been going well for the Rangers so kcko uh gets to take his talents to Seattle and we’ll see how he does he’s about point every other game with the Rangers I would think he’ll score at a higher rate in Seattle because they could use another offensively minded player in Seattle whereas for the New York r rers I don’t think he was ever going to break into a top six role so we’ll see what happens let me know your thoughts in the comment section below as always don’t forget to hit like And subscribe in the event you may not have done so already let me know your thoughts on this trade and uh what you think kcko is going to be able to do in Seattle and if you don’t think he’s going to be able to do anything that’s fine too but let me know your thoughts hit like And subscribe if you haven’t already done so thank you guys so much for all your support as always I will talk to you again soon
