outside of this Nolan arado trade talk pitching is dominating the trade rumor mill Luis Castillo Dylan CE Jesus lazardo names and teams are flying around so in this video we’re going to pull off three trades I will propose three deals for you to get Castillo to the Orioles cease to Atlanta finally Alex anthopoulos is going to get his guy and Jesus lazardo is going to go to the Cubs in a deal that will push the Cubs rotation uh upgrade it this is a Allin this has to be a World Series as the goal kind of season especially this could be the only year Kyle Tucker is a cub so you’ve got to go for it you’ve got to upgrade the team let’s begin with Luis Castillo make sure to hit that like if you enjoy your time here so his contract is one of the elements that has to be kept in mind with this trade $24 million a year for the next 3 years a $25 million vesting option for 2028 which is actually interesting what’s attached to it if he pitches more than 180 innings in 2027 it is locked in that is three years from now if he misses 130 days from 25 to 27 with a UCL injury which would be devastating but he would be back he’s in his early 30s the 2028 year turns into a $5 million team option which you would pick that up uh unless he goes down at the end of 2027 and he’s going to miss 2028 you would pick that up that turn that’s a great insurance policy so I I like I like this from a standpoint of a team trading for ceso but it’s $24 million a year still at the end of the day uh and if you include that vesting option we’re looking at about $100 million for a pitcher so it’s not the same value as like a Garrett crochet let’s make sure we we we keep that in mind however Seattle fans I hear you when we go to baseball trade values he’s not valued high enough $7.7 million is too low especially when you consider the next two pictures we’re going to look at so we’re going to bump it up we’re going to bump it up to the high valuation by bbtv and that is 9 9.3 million and we’re even going to go above that because there’s a lot of Luis Castillo trade rumors so we’re essentially going to have to add a bidding war tax that’s going to go even higher so Orioles fans Mariners fans let’s put the trade on the board Castillo to Baltimore headed to Seattle is Ryan Mount Castle Jud Fabian and a round B compensation pick three pieces you get two years a Ry M Castle Ryan Mount Castle can play first he can play Corner Outfield you have Jud Fabian who is a top 10 Prospect in the O’s system he would slot into a top 10 position with the Seattle Mariners as well and you get a draft pick three pieces for Lise Castillo Fabian the number nine Prospect by Baseball America as we outlined if you are curious about the values headed in each direction we are sending 9.3 in Luis Castillo again that high valuation and Seattle’s getting 13.6 million in Mal Castle Fabian and the comp pick Mount Castle’s two years he’s a decent bat no it’s not Tristan casus but that’s not going to happen casas’s value is way too high there’s four years of Tristan casus Mariners fans that heard that maybe got their hopes set that high it’s time to recalibrate you can still get a good package you can get a bat that’ll help you that’s got to be objective number one right get a bat that helps you this season Mount Castle would do that Fabian again you bring him along the comp pick do something right with that and you also R Mount Castle probably projected to be about 6 million bucks you get $18 million in your pocket to then go improve your team in other areas you’re fine without Luis Castillo does somebody need to say that to Mariners fans those that are upset about this you’re fine without Castillo with Kirby Miller woo Gilbert there’s four top of the rotation pieces right there 321 okay so you I’m going to get I can see the push back over Miller being an ace that’s not what I’m saying top of the rotation one two three top half of the rotation let me be more clear you’re in a good spot you’re in a great spot even without Luis Castillo I think you’re in a better spot without Luis Castillo because of what you can do with that money not just this year but the $24 million next year too at some point you’re going to have to give Gilbert Kirby raises the arbitration dollars are going to get really high at the end and do you want to resign them this all makes sense it makes sense I feel like I’m trying to talk myself into it I’m trying to talk you into it look it works I think it is what needs to happen and from a Baltimore Oriol standpoint this is a team that would think about dollars we think about these arbitration players on Seattle side we can also think about it from Baltimore side do not waste another adley and Gunner arbitration and pre-arbitration year don’t do it Kyle bradish I don’t I don’t I don’t know or or or feel confident about him contributing significantly for this team throughout the year maybe he’ll be back late September October sometime around that time frame because they they waited to have the surgery so with Sagano and Castillo adding them in with effn rodri Ruez and Kramer all of a sudden you have a rotation that can compete look the bar in that division is the Yankees they got Cole they got freed they got rodon they got Luis heel they got Clark Schmidt you have got to be able to pitch with them when they come to Baltimore when you go to New York when you’re in a fight in September for the division you have to be able to stack up with the New York Yankees and if you don’t have Castillo you have eelyn Rodriguez Kramer Sagano and Rogers or Suarez I need more I need more don’t waste a year don’t do it add a piece invest in the team invest right there Mike Elias come on man all right let’s go to Atlanta and Dylan CE the Atlanta Braves rotation at the top Solid sale Lopez check check you know strider’s going to be back at some point schwellenbach is good right there in the middle but then after that I don’t know man look so you’ve got AJ Smith Scher you’ve got HST waldriff you you you’ve got some pieces that are trying to work their way and and break through the ceiling uh from that triaa from the minors to the major league level and and have success at the top here but this 2025 season after the disappointment how 2024 went and how it finished I got to think this is a Reload and go for it kind of season uh and Dylan CE adding him would be terrific especially when you have Spencer Strider back uh you have Strider and ceas added with this group again we think about the bar we thought about the bar for the Yankees and Orioles and and how the Orioles have to have to match up against the best rotation in the American League the Braves are going to have to match up against the best rotation in the National League and that’s the Dodgers so you’ve got to do more and AD Dyan C’s trade is a significant addition for this team now his value on baseball trade values is very high 33.6 I argue maybe a little too high so here comes the gym uh adjustment again we’re going to come down a little bit we’re not going to get to 33.6 just not going to happen for one year of Dylan CE I know he’s good but that’s too high this is the highest value losardo is not even at 33 .6 so and you got two years of losardo anyway little high so we’re going to you know we’re going to we’re going to uh apply some Liberties here so we’ve got Braves Padres and we’re going to bring in a third team we’re going to make this thing a true Blockbuster with a three team trade Braves get ceas the Marlins are coming on board they’re going to add an outfield piece because I don’t think Padres fans you want anything to do with Jared Kellick so we have to bring in some help to get this deal done here’s the pieces the Padres gets Hurston waldrup breathe Braves fans breathe Darius Vines Bryce Elder and they get Jesus Sanchez from Miami now there may be some Braves fans that are fine with parting with waldrup uh you got Vines you got Elder those are pieces you can part with Jesus Sanchez is immediately in the outfield for the San Diego Padres Sanchez going to have to go from right to left uh but that transition has been done before Sanchez in left you have your Outfield now if you are San Diego and Miami to replace Sanchez in value it’s Allan winens coming from Atlanta and cob Hightower coming from the San Diego Padres those wondering how the values are applied from baseball trade values here 33.6 yes insert the laugh track here um he’s good but he’s not that good 33.6 for Atlanta 28.4 for San Diego and 10.4 for Miami Miami was sending around 12 million out in the uh in in the Jesus Sanchez portion of the trade what this does is it gives San Diego look at how many more rotation options you have at this point adding waldrup Elder and wiins into the equation gives you more pieces your rotation on opening day could be king darish waldrip Elder and Vasquez or walren who or breedo or winens whoever earned the spots in spring training as it sets up right now the rotation there there is no earning spots and there’s really no money to go out and make any significant splashes to get this deal done now here’s one thing that is also interesting in trading deal and ceas his arbitration doar are going to be significant so significant that you could probably go out and get a Spencer turnball for less than you’re going to have to pay for Dylan CE and that could add another rotation option because walr Elder and Wiens are all cheap they’re all pre-arbitration if that I don’t even know if waldrip is is earning a major league paycheck yet so there are again multiple reasons why this works for the San Diego Padres you may want more than that um again I think you have a lot of people telling you that you should be getting Tristan cas’s back for Dillan sees but it’s it’s it’s not going to happen on the brave side of things it’s saale you got ceas at the top Lopez schwach Holmes again eventually you have Spencer Strider back you’re putting together an elite rotation and Braves fans again Hurston waldrup is going to be the sticking point here look here this is how you know that we have uh we’ve done something right here Braves fans are saying no no no no we don’t want waldrup and padr are saying no no no we need more than that so that is sort of a a almost without intentionally meaning to go that route that’s a middle ground right there if both sides are saying wait a minute uh I don’t want to give up that piece what does that tell you about the piece that you’re getting if the other side’s like no he’s worth more than that so this is my trade we get Dylan CE to the Braves we give the Padres pieces and options let’s go to the Cubs and hus lazardo let’s get this deal done we we’ve heard enough about it right let’s do it why are we doing it now look the rotation today you could roll with this sorry I cut off Assad there at the bottom but you could roll with this and it’s a lot of lefties I understand that but let’s go with Talent over arm side so it is maybe the only year Kyle Tucker wears a Chicago Cub uniform and he is an Elite Talent I am going to talk about the Cubs objectives in 2025 with maybe one year Tucker the same way I talked about the Yankees objectives uh in 2024 with the one year of stto obviously these are different talented players Soto is stto is Elite but just wait Kyle Tucker is going to do some amazing things things and probably next offseason get paid $500 million that’s the kind of player the Chicago Cubs have you’ve got to go for it you have to upgrade in areas where you’re already maybe good again I would argue they’re good they could start 2025 with this rotation and be fine but that’s not the bar anymore the bar is go for it so Jesus lazardo increases uh the talent increases the ceiling and the floor for this rotation you have imaga steel lazardo 123 tyion at four Boyd at five there you go 21.9 million is his value on baseball trade values and that’s too low we’re going to have to bump it up to 26.3 that is the high value they do the low median and high usually we go with the median that’s what the 21.9 is it’s the median we’re going to go 26.3 here which is the high value because Boston’s in on them essenti going with the high value allows us to almost incorporate the the bidding war tax that I’m applying here and again it’s not just 2025 it’s 2026 part of what has brought his value down is the fact that he did not finish the Year healthy he went down injured he should be back and fine ready to go good to go for opening day though this is not a a season ending won’t be or or won’t be back until the All-Star break kind of thing he should be back early in the season and ready to go so let’s go two years of Jesus lazardo we’re going to send it to the Chicago Cubs what are we sending to Miami myami wants prospects Miami wants prospects so basically Cubs this is just a matter of are you good with this Prospect Package Owen Cassie the number 52 Prospect in a Major League Baseball according to Baseball America James triantos the number seven Prospect in the Cubs organization and Jackson Wiggins the number 15 Prospect in the Cubs organization again all according to Baseball America three pieces we get one top 100 we don’t revisit the the the the Garett crochet trade value here we got to sort of uh trim it down a little bit instead of two top 100s we’re sending one top 100 um we are still sending two other top uh organization prospects in the deal really that’s what’s missing here is we don’t have another top 100 prospects that’s what was in the Garrett crochet trade but we’re not going to get that same package back so we adjust a little bit there and in the end when it comes to Value Changing Hands 29 million is headed to the Miami Marlins again we got to go high we got to pay uh we got we got to pay the bidding war tax uh 26.3 is headed to the Chicago Cubs in lazardo this is the this is the rotation you add lazardo into this group again I I’m sorry I cut off Assad I’ll have to I’ll have to email him later and ask him for his apologies or ask ask for him to uh forgive me but this is a rotation that goes to a different level and that’s now where the Cubs need to be thinking offseason plans changed when you got K or they should when you got Kyle Tucker all of a sudden now what you had been planning to do you need to step it up a notch Jesus Lardo improves your rotation Cubs fans are you doing that package of players for Lardo you already gave up a lot for Tucker are you going to give up a lot for losardo on top of it there’s a lot of talk here that’s why we’re presenting this trade because these two teams are talking they’re working hard that’s everything we’ve been hearing this could get it done that is going to do it for this one everybody I appreciate you coming in and spending time with the channel ball cap Nation I salute you especially those of you that made it all the way to the end it does amazing things for the algorithm so thank you for that I appreciate it make sure to hit that like on the way out everybody and as always if it’s low let it go and if it’s High Let It Fly I’ll catch you next time
