all right so as I’m recording this mechkov just ripped two first period goals against the Bruins further winding the Gap in goals and points in the rookie race couple weeks ago when we talked about the cder race I felt it was neck and neck between stankoven and mechkov but I gave mechkov the slight Edge based on the fact that he was only one point back as stankoven despite being healthy scratch for two games he’s two years younger and is the Marquee attraction in Philly having to play with less star Talent around him than stank koven in Dallas since then uh yeah that kid in San Jose would like a word he’s been really good since coming back from injury but mov has just been banking the points and at this point not only is he the clear-cut favorite he’s also showing why there was so much hype behind that pick and him coming over to North America earlier than expected he’s emerging already as the flyer Superstar now he still got a lot to learn a lot to develop he’s not even 20 yet but he’s already showing that he can definitely be the guy in Philly the most talented one since Prime 28 was buzzing around in flyer orange now Travis kkny is a star and I would say a bit of an underrated one if not for him just getting picked for Team Canada he’s on Pace for his third straight 30- goal season leads the team in points by a pretty sizable margin for the third year in Ro ham he’s a great player that the Flyers are lucky to have but when you watch mov play the talent and the potential there the ceiling is just so much higher than anyone else on that team and that’s not a shot at the Flyers they’re rebuilding it’s a testament to how good this kid could and probably will be and when you look at that looks like torella one of the great NHL coaches knew what he was doing by sitting Mecha for two games and bringing him back reset and shot out of a cannon and he’s going to have some more rough nights some more learning lessons that’s the name of the game in the hardest league in the world but it’s clear why the hype was so high the kid’s a superstar in in the making and it’s not just a shot it’s wicked but the other night that three assist game against Florida I love this one the way he smoothly turns his body and Feathers it so swiftly all in one motion it was really nice I remember going into the 23 draft everyone knew Bard was going first and you even had a pretty good inkling it was between Fen Tilly and Carlon for second and third but the real question was where is mechkov going to go cuz the ceiling was so high how long would you have to wait for him to come over to North America but you had a feeling whichever team got and was getting a gem probably later than they should be Brier and the boys take that chance at seven and it’s paying off for them right now I’m happy for him and I’m happy for Flyers fans honestly it’s cool to see him in a market like that I hope he keeps popping off cuz man he’s been fun to watch first rookie to 10 goals he’s got a couple OT winners under his belt already and he’s absolutely the cder favorite right now let me know in the comments where do you think his ceiling is you can give a player comp not in terms of playing style but in terms of the ceiling like oh I see him as a ranin or a Marner John Scott that type of thing I love John Scott I’ll never forget that 2016 All-Star game for as long as I live let me know thank you so much for watching I’ll see you in the next one you’re awesome
