n [Music] [Music] another day another week another loss by the New England Patriots what is going on everybody it’s your boy Kobe also known as Patriots GL joined as always by my boy Rob from house call Sports appreciate you guys for tuning in to here us talk some post game about the New England Patriots this time on the road in Buffalo week 16 against the bills who honestly might be the hottest team in football right now I mean they they give the Kansas City Chiefs a loss in Kansas City first and only loss of the season they beat the Detroit Lions who I thought were the best team in football they hadn’t lost since you know week two the bills be both of them and Josh Allen playing some of the hottest football of his career Josh Allen very clearly the MVP for this 2024 season and you look at how the Patriots have played in recent weeks right they start off the season hot then they start off the season slow then in the middle of the uh the season you know you played the Titans you played the Bears played some other teams played the Jets the Patriots were winning those games they were they were in situations to win those games too and we said maybe the second half of the season is the turnaround and then everything came back down to earth over the last few weeks even last week after the bye you go up against the Arizona Cardinals you get absolutely killed and we’re saying dear God do we as Patriots fans have to watch this next week against the bills like they’re a team that multiple times this season has scored 35 40 45 points when needed this is a Patriots team who can’t even score 30 they have the longest streak in the NFL without scoring 30 plus points in a game we thought we were going to get blown out we thought if Gerard Mayo ever going to be fired if somehow there is a way a chance a possibility it’s going to be after this game but that doesn’t happen as always guys today’s video brought to you by bet us we’ll talk to you a little bit later how you can get an exclusive deal from them but Rob they start off this game hot you know they lose the coin toss as soon as I heard that and the coin toss isn’t that big but they they lost the coin toss and I was like oh freaking course like of we can’t even win the damn coin toss but whatever Patriots get the ball first bills elect to get the ball for the start of the third quarter you go down the field beautifully you get a touchdown LED with a kaan booty touchdown Drake May beautiful pass beautiful catch by kaan booty but you go ahead you kick the ball off your defense does its job they immediately are able in under three minutes to force the bills to punt Patriots get the ball back yet again they drive down the field they get a touchdown now the Patriots are up with about half the time left to go in the second quarter because they’ve been chewing up clock very well and the Patriots are up 14 to Zer after that second touchdown they give the ball off to the bills that’s where the defense breaks a little bit the bills are able to go down get their first touchdown and then it kind of feels like that that’s when all hell broke loose the Patriots dominated the Buffalo Bills in the first half the first half was all New England Patriots the second half was all Buffalo Bills and football it’s what have you done for me lately football is also doesn’t matter how you start matters how you finish and that was a beautiful example today the bills they’re one of the the the the only teams in football who they suck in the first half but they turn it on they make adjustments in the second half doesn’t doesn’t matter at the end of the day like it like you just said this is the difference between a team that’s fighting for the number one overall pick and a team that’s fighting for the number one overall seed it’s a difference between a team that’s competing and there’s a team that’s a team that’s just looking from the ground up and it’s just the little things here and there we kind of shoot our load every single game we start off really it seems we start we got that thing where we start off pretty hot in the beginning of the game and then it just it just subsides too many like it’s as if they don’t know how to like keep the lead or keep from a up front it’s like okay uh we’re doing great maybe we should do something bad this is not this is not normal no no guys like you got to keep it consistent but then then then you get the turnovers I mean this is a team that the Patriots that have lost four straight games six straight Games held under 25 points this is a Bills team that has not gone under 30 points in in in what two months two months eight straight games I believe it was the stat the fact of how they played today I don’t want to have a moral victory because I I’m not not I’m not happy I’m not happy I’m not happy with this this is not something to hang her hat on I’m sorry this would like I said we said I said to you pre-stream this was not good bills this is just bad Patriots like we did not we should have won this game this is just one of those games that we lost they didn’t beat us we beat ourselves today because when you have three straight possessions where three straight turnovers because of the guy that still just can’t he leads the league and fumbles can can’t seemingly hold on to the football I mean it’s it’s tougher conditions I could give him a pass today but I won’t give him a pass because all the times leading up to this point so it’s like come on dude stop doing that but yeah yeah and there’s actually a stat that I wanted to pull up here real quick let me let make sure I have this so like you said ran Stevenson most fumbles by a running back this season raand Dre Stevenson leads with seven Bree Hall goes six Aaron Jones is five Kiren Williams is five out of those seven fumbles ra Andre has lost three and we’re going to start breaking him down here in a minute we’re going to start breaking down each checking out that video this is not a good quarterback class I think shador didn’t go in last year’s class because it was so much better realistically was shador going over Drake May Jaden Daniels Caleb Williams no I don’t even know if he would have went you know over Michael penck shador went in this draft because it’s a bad quarterback class and he has the opportunity to go higher even in this class shador will not be the first quarterback taken off the board shador is not the best quarterback in this draft class it is by far unarguably cam Ward and even then I don’t like the quarterback class I think the question for shador is does he have enough Talent does he have the talent to be a franchise quarterback or does he have all of this hype around him because of the social media presence because of the hype because of the aura that he has he’s being talked about so much that I think people are overhyping what he’s going to be Drake May is going to be a better quarterback at the NFL level when it’s all said and done I’m not saying he’s a top five quarterback but what I’m saying is he has the ability to get there give him a a decent o line give him decent receivers and see what he can do like even Patrick Mahomes you look at Patrick Mahomes early on in his career best o line in the NFL still has one of the best o lines in the NFL had Travis Kelce had Tyreek Hill you build around your Young quarterback early on you don’t put them in bad situations to succeed you don’t ask rookie quarterbacks to excel the offense passes limitations within their first couple of years and Drake May is already exceling the offense past its limitations tell me a quarterback that is going to come in here and do the things that Drake May is doing with this Supporting Cast you think jacobe Brett’s coming in here and doing these same things please wait wait wait time out time out not even Patrick momes is doing this because he has Travis Kelce over dehop at some point during the season Drake May was one or two touchdowns away from passing him and he had only played like three games so so like to think that anybody thinks that this guy is a tradable asset that is like what oh my Jeff fiser level level question I’m I’m sorry I think the only reason that free agents will want to come here is because of money and because of Drake may keep in mind Rob last year free agents did not want to come here not because of money Patriots were offering money the reason free agents did not want to come here was because they had questions at quarterback if you hit on the quarterback you have franchise guy players will want to come here but if you have question marks at the most important position nobody is ever going to want to come here and we saw that with this organization last year but as for who on the roster is potentially on The Chopping Block after this season rre Stevenson might be those are the only two to me though like I can’t think of any other players right now like I’m even looking at wide value I’m not I’m looking at wide receiver I wouldn’t get rid of Douglas I wouldn’t get rid of booty maybe they try to ship off like Jayvon Baker or Jaylen pulk for a late round pick if they don’t believe in them because even Jaylen pul I mean he had one Target today overthrown by Drake may but it feels like they just don’t believe in him to give him enough reps to even see what he has in a not a tank year but in a year where you’re not fighting for anything in your final three games like give this guy some opportunity and they’re still not doing so maybe they say hey give me a fifth or a sixth round pick for poke or Baker and there’s a team that bites because they’re on a rookie deal so maybe something like that but other than that maybe Kyle Dugger tackling has been a problem for him all year um Rand Dre Stevenson if they can get a third or fourth for him honestly I would consider doing it and head to the draft and and get a guy of his caliber cuz he’s a great running back love ra Andre but the fum have been such a liability that you can’t rely on him and it’s a problem dugger’s tackling today was very good though his tackling was very good he he had he had some to me that I was like all right like you he had some really good moments but he also had a couple play behind the line bro but he made a couple of good plays also had some questionable plays on that Big James Cook run where he like it was the the touchdown that they got the first touchdown when we were up 14 to zero it was I believe Kyle Dugger who Dove to try to tackle him and then took out Marte mapu and mapu was playing free safety so mapu is your last line of defense in stopping that run so he takes out mapu and instead of a big game it turns into a big gain and a touchdown so I put that one on Dugger and you talk about a game where a guy had to show up mapu he had a force fumble he had an interception and I believe he had like a pass deflection this guy played out of his mind today bro that’s why like there there’s even a discussion on do you get rid of one of these safeties debril Peppers Kyle dug what not because you have to to play mapu right because I’m sorry Rob but every time that mapu is in the game he’s making a play or he’s making a play that is forced for another player on this defense to make the play can I can I ask you before preseason I’m two for three because I said don’t bring back rander Stevenson because you don’t pay running backs and I and I and I said don’t bring back Kyle Dugger right you did how are they looking right now I’m not looking very good robt listen I I’ll give Remer Stevens a little bit of pass because I mean he’s behind the worst offensive line in football so that could be a catalyst as to why the the stats are not matching up because he’s a hell of a running back but you fumbling the football is not on your offensive line that’s a you thing and and B Dugger has regressed significantly it’s as if he got the paycheck and he’s like ah I don’t know how to play football anymore yeah yeah those are the only players to me personally that I would I I would probably look to to potentially move on from even then like I’m not saying I would move on from them but I wonder if the Patriots would a lot of cap space maybe if they can get guys that they feel fit their system better because even thinking about ra Andre I like ra Andre fumbling is a problem he’s a good back but some inconsistencies I wonder if he doesn’t fit the Patriots system as well this West Coast Alex vanel offense I think Antonio Gibson actually fits that system a little bit better but shout out to my boy King freaking with a $20 my freaking guy already getting us into the offseason and asking beautiful this fan base is mindboggling I do question some of the things from this fan base I do think that I I do think that Vel would make the Patriots better to an extent like they’ have a few extra wins but do we think even with Vel here they would have had like Houston Texans CJ Strat season like I think people I think people believe though Rob that the reason we’re not winning is be is strictly because of Gerard Mayo not because we have the hardest schedule in the NFL not because we have the least talented roster in the NFL not because it’s Year One Jobe um Drake May everybody you’re one of I think we have you muted still no I think we still got you out I hear myself for some reason more than I hear you hello hello hello oh there we go there go so um what was the question so the question was so Trey comes in and says six total wins with a better roster on the Titans and there are still idiot to think Vel would crack half the amount of wins with this lineup the intelligence of most of this fan base is mind-boggling so he thinks that Rabel would have not gotten more wins than dra Mayo this year I think what he’s trying to say is Vel would have gotten a couple more wins but Vel wouldn’t have changed the trajectory of this season I I well so I think he would have got six wins because you got to think about just situationally what what he would have had the team way more prepared I mean look at the Seattle game that’s a winnable game you go look at the Dolphins game that’s a winable game there’s plenty of games that I think that I think that just the the kind of like wet behind the ears in terms of gerro mayo as a head coach showed like today was probably I’m going to be honest with you today was the the one game that looked across the sideline and I’m like that looks like an NFL coach am I am I are you in unison with me on this one because he looked situationally like he was he knew what he was doing yeah I thought he did pretty well I mean there was a lot of times where they panned over and he was just pissed off in the second half and you could tell because honestly that it wasn’t it wasn’t coming down to coaching decisions it came down to player execution in the second half yeah but that’s the biggest thing we look to the sideline up until the this point and it’s just been looking at it and all you see is just the guy doesn’t show emotion then I saw emotion today I was like that’s what we want to see where’s the emotion am I the only one that did not see any emotion from him all season today when they converted the fourth down he was like doing the whole like uh Bill bich like get right come on on like you saw emotion from him and that’s something we’ve been waiting for All Season situation he was way better today looked way more prepared he’s he’s listening to all the BS narratives that are being spitted out about about him being possibly moved on from we that which by the way the report says that he this is still up in the air who knows but at the end of the day it looked like an NFL coach on the sideline today and I’m that’s something to go and hang her hat on yeah I thought he looked good today um I I put on my channel a video it was a live stream like a couple days ago I was like it’s official like geran Mayo’s coming back I know that some people are like but Greg Mard said that there’s still a chance that he could still no there’s not like let’s be honest this is Adam schfer Diana rosini Tom Curran three reports Coming Out Diana rosini the other day doubled down on it and said that Gerard Mayo behind the scenes understood the circumstances that Mayo was given and that he was not going to give up on him after year one okay and I I said look even despite this I I think there is a slight path that he could only if Gerard Mayo gets killed like 45 to like three or 45 to seven over the last three games he came in here and almost beat the damn Buffalo Bills who are the best team in the NFL and might Sav his job today he might have saved his job today if today wasn’t something to hang your hat on All Season you went toe-to-toe with a team that’s a Super Bowl Contender I know it’s every any any given week Any Given Sunday but that’s not a team that that’s a job Allen that as of late has owned us and I’m going to be honest with you we lost the game today he didn’t beat us because his60 yards and he didn’t he looked very human today extremely human I thought Demarcus coving didn’t had had a hell of a game plan today outside of being able to stop the run with James Cook we were right there right there this close if you get if you just couple plays here or there no turnovers and we win this game honestly if you don’t even have one of your turnovers maybe the Patriots win this game it comes down to three points so you look at it if if Drake May doesn’t have that interception in the end zone and that’s a touchdown game could be different if from Andre Stevenson doesn’t have the ball Bobble off his hands maybe that that touchdown doesn’t happen like there’s a lot of different things you could look at and say the Patriots could have won this so I do agree with you that I think especially I I mean I thought heading into this game he was already coming back and I felt confident in that especially with three reporters very uh reasonable and successful reporters and reliable reporters coming out saying the same things and then after how he performed today it’s all but certain like Mayo is coming back I think that varable like I said maybe would have gotten the Patriots a few extra wins but even with this lineup worst roster in the NFL lots of young New pieces like I don’t know how many coaches would come in here and and and make this a playoff team I I really don’t think any would because yes some of the coaching early on in the season was rough but I think today is a beautiful example that a lot of the problem that they’re having not all of them but a lot of problems the Patriots are having comes down to sit not situational football but rather execution by the players right because there were there was a point today where they knew Josh Allen was going to sneak it and they crowded the box and then they knew exactly what was coming but they couldn’t stop it it came down to execution the play call was right but you don’t have gerod Mayo on the field playing defense no more he can only call the plays tell you what’s going to happen how to stop it it comes down to the players to be the ones to come down and execute and I feel like T was a beautiful example how the players just weren’t executing it’s a it’s a talent bearing roster we all knew this was not going to be a one season type deal deal this is probably not even a two typ season type deal because the offseason this draft that’s coming up it’s a lot to be desired and the free agency pool is not not great either but as obviously there are going to be players that are going to be dropped from the roster and maybe the TV deal will rise up the I don’t know the salary might go up a little bit um someone put in the chat uh J he Josh Allen 1.0 went against Josh Allen 2.0 respectfully I’m and this may be me being a homer I think he has a potential to be better because here’s the thing 56 completion percentage I believe in his first year and 58 per completion percentage his second year this kid didn’t have Josh Allen did not have to do what he had to do with this with the roster this Baron he was not Josh Allen until he got Stefon digs Dr May’s doing this with nothing I I respectfully I think he’s going to be better hey man I think Josh all’s the second best quarterback in the NFL so I would love for Drake May better I think Drake May looks better at this point in his career versus what Josh Allen looked like at this point in his career I think it’s up to the Patriots to build around Drake May correctly and if that’s the case who knows maybe he can I definitely think that Drake May special he’s 12% more accurate like it’s not even close like that he Allen looked terrible they’re not they’re not in the same atmosphere hey man I hope you’re right I’m riding with Rob on that one I really I really hope I’m praying I’m praying that comes true I’m hoping I’m right too but we’re all in we’re all there’s always a chance I could be wrong but I’m gonna go out on Lim Trey comes in here with another $10 donation and says when Mayo gets the axe who would you want to bring in as head coach so I mean if Mayo gets ax that’s not happening for at least yeah that’s not happening for at least another year if it does happen but if that happens who would you want to bring in Joe Brady the Bills offensive coordinator Liam Cohen the Bucks offensive coordinator Drew Drew Pig the Bengals OC I don’t even know how to say his last name Ben Johnson the Lions OC or Bobby slowick the Texans OC Bobby or not Bobby SL but Ben Johnson Ben Johnson does not want to come here I don’t think he comes Joe Brady I like but I’m not 100% convinced that it’s Joe Brady that has made the bill successful uh I think Josh got married and just turned that crap on um Liam Cohen the Bucks OC I do like him I do like him um Bobby slowick I think fell off this year I I wouldn’t be very interested it’s really two people it’s either Mike Vel or Ben Johnson but you got to look at the situation what is Ben J Ben Johnson would have to I mean if hell whoever is the assistant GM for the Lions bring them here because I I believe I was watching a podcast and they had recruited in the last three drafts they have nine starters so as far as I’m concerned first of all Elliot wolf can get the step and you’re talking about replacing the head coach how about let’s go even higher let’s go replace Elliot wolf because as far as I’m concerned this draft you cannot give me look we all know Drake May F on his lap like that’s not you don’t get credit for some a some a player of his caliber to falling in your your lap this happens to be just one of the best draft quarterback classes is probably when Joe burrow was drafted um yeah it was a good one but the rest of the draft is just like it’s it’s terrible like so why not just get rid of him so I go get I’ll go after the guy that’s in this the assistant GM for the damn Lions but if I had to pick it’s either Mike Vel or Ben Johnson Ben Johnson’s already came out I don’t know if he said but at least his source is behind it said basically an organization would have to admit to their their prior faults and I just don’t I think crafts are just way too um prideful to do that I mean you got to go and look I think the reason why D Mays a head coach is because they know they can they can control him I that’s just how I see it why why is it that he’s meeting with them every week to discuss football things are is he the head coach or are they they the head coach like what what what is what is the deal yeah for me I think it would come down to what exactly would Ben Johnson want because if he wants like control over personnel and stuff like Brady did then hey congratulations you look really good with the Lions right now but just because you’re a good OC with the Lions doesn’t mean that you’re the reason they’re successful it does mean you’re going to be a good head coach I don’t trust you like even bich it took time for bich to be able to be the patience general manager and take over those Personnel duties and even late in his career we saw why that wasn’t a very smart move so if he wants to come in call plays offensively sure the browns offensive coach does the exact same thing like I don’t care you want to call plays offensively do do as you wish okay every every coach is different he wouldn’t come in as a CEO coach he would come in as a Hands-On coach but again why would he come to New England he’s gonna want a lot of money he wants the perfect situation I don’t think New England is the place that that he’s ultimately gonna go go to I mean let’s keep in mind too when Josh McDaniels was in New England he was basically the Ben Johnson back in the day and then he crapped the bed so you got you got to look at like what’s the more desirable locations out there right now believe it or not you look at the Chicago Bears I mean that they have four pretty damn good receivers and and and an offense and Caleb Williams who was the number one overall pick in this draft then you go look maybe the New York Jets that that might be they have a lot of Talent on that roster this this this is not a ready made he could just come here and and and the success is there but I will also say Hey listen you got a $100 million in cash Bas and you have a top draft pick which by the way guys we’re number too right now so as far as I’m concerned if we can keep this up the Raiders are going to have to trade with us that’s what you want I call what did I call this last week I was like please for the love last week I think we said that that’s the position you want to be in so that if you want your quarterback up but yeah we’ll even get into like the draft standing in a minute but King KO comes back in with a $5 donation my man he says clarification I meant pass on Sanders um or trade May which you guys answered um I like Sanders over May last year thought he was more accurate thanks guys I will say that like Drake May has definitely been more accurate at the NFL level than I was expecting and that’s despite the deficiencies that he has on o line and at receiver I think May ultimately make Drake May has the better arm Drake May is more athletic and I think Drake May is way better at creating Off Script so I I think in any draft literally every Sanders and Drake May literally every single thing Drake May’s better at every single thing I think if we took away the fact that Dion is his dad I don’t think we’d be talking about Sanders as much as we are he would be a second round pick yeah I don’t think he as as hyped as everyone’s making him go go put him in a North Carolina situation where he was throwing a TZ Walker and take away Travis Hunter and let’s see what he does well I want to ask everybody a question I want you guys to put in the poll see what you guys you know say let’s see who’s going to be right this is your opportunity to say oh shoot I was right I called it or oh wow I was I was wrong and now I’m on the losing side but you guys let us know in the chat boy or girl you guys heard that right because Rob is [Applause] a I got played too many at the same time I got win go into the offseason with a level of momentum but I told you guys that if the p riots won today you wanted the Jags to win because if the Jags won and the Patriots won they would have been the same record it would have given the Patriots a higher draft pick but if the Patriots lost you did not want the Jags to win the Patriots would have stayed at the third overall pick but if the Raiders won which they did that would have thrusted the Patriots up with a loss so yes we want wins we wanted today’s win but there’s at least a silver Ling behind the loss and that’s you went from the third overall pick to the second you moved up one spot and if somehow a miracle happens in the final two weeks and the Giants somehow win a game the Patriots and of course Patriots would have to lose out but if the Giants win one more game the Patriots would hold the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft due to a tied record and because they have the lowest strength of the schedule compared to all of these teams so Rob what are your thoughts on this I mean you look at what the Giants have left they got the C and they have the Eagles the Eagles seem they they sometimes sneak one against them and the Colts they have a quarterback with all due respect he’s very very athletic he’s Dreadful he’s a he’s a 50 50% passing percentage quarterback he really isn’t anything special he could do his L Dance all he wants on the sideline he’s the only quarterback ever that’s ever tapped out and I think that that may be the game that they tap out that the Giants may win and that’s our best our best shot because when you go look at the strength of schedule the 463 is the reason why we’re at the number two right now the lower that number is the higher you move up so so being that the three we’re three and 12 and the Jacksonville Jaguars are 3 and 12 as obviously as you can see if the if the season was to end today we would have the second overall pick here’s my biggest thing after watching today there’s a possibility we could win one of these last two games because the bills the bills I mean I don’t see how they’re going to catch Kansas City because Kansas City are 14 and one today and obviously there’s more um drama about how they won that game surprise surprise but anyways that they may they may or may not have something to play for so that’s really just what’s going to come down to is whether or not they have something to play for and whether or not the giant hey if the Giants can just win one of these games which is very possible because you got division rival and you got to go get a quarterback and that that puts a thought in the the the Raiders and Mark Davis’s mind Hey listen he’s saying that they’re saying that maybe we’re GNA try to offer this and you get into a bidding war and that’s why you want to be at two that’s why I’ve been kind of wishing okay if we’re gonna lose might as well have the Raiders win you know what I’m saying yeah no that’s that’s a very that point but they said our identity is to be aggressive we are going to go for it on fourth down we’re going to try to run it down your throats pause but we are going to just be an aggressive style team and whether it worked didn’t worked whether they were successful whether they were not successful they stuck with that identity and it helped build them to the team they are but also that final season with Dan Campbell I think they were a three or four- win team they won their final couple of games they took that momentum into 2022 then in the second half of 2022 they won a bulk of their games almost went on a potential playoff run just missed but took that momentum from the games they won into 2023 where the second best record in the NFL should have represented the NFC in the playoffs all because of winning and that momentum that winning gave them so if the Patriots can win week 18 I 100% still say do it I’m on the same board as you there Rob yeah and talking about pulling him versus without him because do I want a second round pick or do I want May well or mayor rather I want the second round pick so if I can get a first round pick maybe instead of a second I get a maybe week five where rre was fumbling on a week- toe basis and and Mayo said now he’s starting to lose them he needs to be disciplined he’s not going to be the Bell cow what does he do the discipline for Rand Dre Stevenson was not playing him the first drive of the following game they need they need to sit him down they need to they need to make sure he knows this isn’t okay because he’s fumbling and he’s under that mindset of crap I fumbled that’s not going to look good on the stat sheet I’ll get him back next time because he knows the PS are going to throw him back in you need to sit him Gerard Mayo needs to be what he is now versus what bich was he needs to be in like the middle because bich would put you in the dogghouse the entire season I’m not saying that that that Stevenson should be in the dog house the entire season but he should at the very least sit out for the next game sit out for the next two games make Gibson your lead back and show him hey we’ll go with Antonio yards on average touchdown long long run of 14 yards it was those two negative plays that were frustrated that were here talking about this right now but like you alluded to running back is one of those positions you can go to Fore agency you can go to the draft and you can find a guy that can do it say what and if he cannot come in and start doing his job then I’m seeing you want a fourth round pick for ra Andre Stevenson I love ra Andre but you got to think that there’s another guy out there that can do the things he’s doing and just simply not fumble the ball because like you said we’re not good right now it doesn’t matter in hind sight that we are losing game when you going to maximize raand Stevens and E does the to turn it around as far as I’m concerned I hate to say it running backs are replaceable the only ones that I think you can’t really replace are saquan Barkley the two running backs in for the Detroit Lions and maybe Derrik Henry those are guys that are like the top Echelon that you go and pay you go and pay as far as I’m concerned rre Stevenson he’s not an average I think he’s above a average running back but his biggest cryptonite is he just puts him self in a predicament where like the Bengals game a couple years ago you’re about to score he fumbles the freaking game away you can’t this happens too much and we’ve seen in years past the Patriots used to have like this NASCAR package since when is only having two running backs a thing four you should have four so you can interchange them I’m not saying that everybody you’re G to have your every down guy and then you’re going to have your your change Pace guy and then you’re going to receiving threat and the fourth one is just in case you want to for injury or whatever may be we’re really only too deep that’s it and and and like old man mob I seen your comment about drafting or or or getting one in free agency as far as I’m concerned why not both because we need to get a third and fourth running back and maybe a running back that will light enough of a fire underneath rander Stevenson’s ask as far as I’m concerned you can tell me if you agree with me or not I think Antonio Gibson’s a better running back right now I think Antonio Gibson fits the Patriots current system better you know I feel like I feel like rre is a little bit more consistent with averaging better yards per carry but I also think that the reason for that is for his style of play Put Your Shoulder down run through a brick wall it’s hard to stop him behind the line type of a guy you know Gibson might get stopped behind the line at times might get stop for a loss of five but then he’s going to break off you know a 15 yard run I’ve also said consistently over the last few weeks that I want to see him more utilized as a pass catching back I mean this is a guy that was a wide receiver converted to running back when the commanders you know drafted him so why are we not using him more as a James White type of role and you know like you alluded to the the Patriots since they drafted raand Dre have been utilizing him as a bcow they’re not doing that kind of four five back thing that they used to do with like Sony Michelle Rex Burkhead James White uh you know Balden all those guys and that’s Le Shane but that’s also why rre Stevenson is like top five in alltime rushing yards for the Patriots already is because they’re not doing that committee that they once did but honestly I think at some point we have to ask ourselves yes it is significantly worse than it usually is but when do we just accept that this is who raand Dre is because raand Dre year one got in the doghouse because week one he fumbled on the goal line for the Dolphins 2022 fumbles the game away Christmas Eve against the Bengals and now leads the NF fell in fumbles this year and loses three of them at some point we just have to accept this is who the guy is and although he’s good he’s going to put the this I’ve said this countless times you never pay running backs unless they are literally generational that’s it and I lik raan I thought that he was a guy that deserved a contract extension I love winning but when you’re when you get an extension and fumbling that becomes the problem again it doesn’t matter how good you are running back is one of those positions where if you go to the draft third fourth round you can easily find a guy a franchise guy that could replace that guy so again I like the extension but with these fumbling problems you look back and you say maybe it was a bit of worked on protecting the football like what what I noticed with him when he goes to the ground he tends to leave the ball in in in in a more like vulnerable situations he doesn’t really do this right let me back up a little bit like this where he kind of holds it with two arms kind of like he kind of Falls and then it’s like like they said in the game when like did Jon Jones play you get players that do the Peanut Tillman just punch the football out and and when they know he’s a guy that’s gonna fumble the football they’re gonna go and go for it every single time yeah h on that perfectly too rob you know too like you get it you’re going to see multiple Defenders you know you’re going to go into a collision you’re going to have multiple guys trying to punch the ball out because that’s I Chris Godwin a guy who helps you deep a veteran a number one wide receiver but he’s like I think he’ll be 29 by the time the season starts he’s coming off of a gruesome season ending injury so he’s not my favorite guy but if all else all else fails get him he’s better than anyone on the current roster and that’s my biggest concern is that you’re going to go out and get a guy as far far as I’m concerned like I’m I am very concerned with their injuries um I think T Higgins is playing posum right now to be honest kby I don’t think he’s as injured as they they make him out to be I mean like those are really you know the best guys other injury related or not but let’s move on to Edge cuz oh baby it’s been a storyline for this uh season with not M Parson I’m joking let’s go trade for him that’s a top trade Target let’s go they don’t have the money they don’t think they have the money to go get him anyway so hey would you trade the third overall pick or second overall pick for michah Parsons that’s a I didn’t think about that honestly it’s the same overall pick for Michael Parson it’s the same thing that I said about wide receiver if you want like an AJ Brown and he’s available for trade don’t use the second overall pick trade down get a Hull and then use the pick that you traded down with to then trade for somebody I wouldn’t give up the second overall pick for Parsons I Patriots need two Edge rushers I think Keon white is actually an interior defensive lineman he is way better rushing from the interior than he is The Edge yeah and you know maybe to compliment you a guy who’s working on I like Marcus Jones as our kicker kickoff or or punt returner I don’t want him on defense let’s be honest with ourselves he’s a reliability on defense and coverage I would put him at punt returner and just keep him as a specialist put him on plays here and there on offense and then get DJ Reed at corner I think he’s a dog when he’s not playing outside if he has some pass rush to help him too I think he can be a dog sounds like a lot of like hot pods you want to just hope that he’s gonna turn out no let’s go make him play something he’s great at give him plays here and there on offense and go get DJ Reed to replace Mar Jones on defense I’m not saying you’re wrong or I’m right I’m just saying like at this point like so many times there was several times throughout the season where this guy gets burned for 30 yards or bring back Gilly I’ll bring back Gilmore for a year yeah draft a guy in the later rounds or honestly go get a get a guy like I mean he may be passes Prime but like Carlton Davis I mean he’s not going to be that good I mean I liked him until he got injured last week and he’s out for the year now for the Lions so I liked him and then I was like oh now injured on the year I don’t know yeah but then last last one is oh tackle oh God it’s such a project at this point I I point brother it’s just cam Robinson go get Cam Robinson in free agency and go get a late look man I know everybody wants to go left tackle in the first round and I know Kobe you’re gonna bang the desk for hell yeah you kiding me well there’s a fall off after those first round guys it’s not a great tackle yeah that’s just go get Cam Robinson we need an average left tackle I don’t even think we need an elite don’t I get it and here’s the thing Kelvin Banks has been not doing great will Campbell’s arms are are short and he hasn’t been doing great so we’re gonna go and put a first round top 10 pick and Kelvin Banks or Will Campbell I might throw up at that the hardest thing to trade for in the NFL you can trade for a wide receiver one every single year we see one of those guys get traded a premier wide receiver one tackle tackle is never never traded for because every team needs at least one tackle right you I mean every team needs two at least every single team is looking well most uh most teams rather I should say are looking to either upgrade at left tackle or right tackle there’s not enough good tackles in the league to go around there there’s not a surplus of that position so that’s why I said like if you can go to the draft get a guy that you can think can be average above average for you go out and get that guy because now you’re developing him within your own system and you’re getting him on a rookie deal rather than having to Brown Derrick Henry the Browns Baker Mayfield would was injured the Jets twice with Zack Wilson the bill the the Texans with Davis Mills the the Falcons with an aging Matt Ryan literally could have had Stevie Wonder at quarterback and we would have made the playoffs like I said I I don’t think that you like it’s but it’s the same thing with with Drake May if you don’t Implement and you don’t might be all he is and you need wide receiver fours you need wide receiver fives but I think they might need a wide receiver one and wide receiver two at the end of the day we need to start weighing our roster against other rosters I think Patriot fans just watch Patriots football because when you go look at how an offense is supposed to be ran and that’s not a shot of AVP because he has nothing
