was combined with the second and it’s in there St fre call the B with a [Applause] pen Johan s has the first go H in New York history back at the wall and the cat and this one has a chance to run by pza in the next lead a is going and behind the gets bu Here Comes night and the with him got it and we are live how’s it going everybody it’s Wy here and we’re back at it with our LIVE edition of our big Mets update segment right here right now December 23rd Merry Christmas Eve Eve to all who celebrate as this may very well either be the last form of content that we have until post Christmas or the second to last I’d imagine we may have at least a video come out tomorrow we’ll see how hectic Christmas Eve is but I know that this is a very busy time for a lot of you guys with your loved ones with your families when everyone close certainly this time of year whether you’re celebrating Christmas Hanukkah or whatever you may be celebrating this holiday season but yes we know that it’s been a big holiday season and we know that there are certainly gifts starting to be thrown out there and the case the Mets there are finally starting to receive said gifts after Juan soda over the past couple weeks that being in sham Mania the Simone Southpaw returning on a 3year $75 million deal including 23 plus million dollar and deferred money yes the Mets are pulling a little bit of a doters here folks buckle up and watch out but all jokes aside we’re going to get into oh and I actually apologize for that folks oh never mind the audio didn’t go through there it was just going through on my own headphone I did a segment there earlier with Brandon London of SNY had a fantastic time doing it with him I I was actually in the car right before I saw my New York Rangers get slaughtered by the New Jersey Devils today they’re at credential Center so to all the devil Mets fans out there congratulations you’re definitely um the laugh the guys laughing right now between myself and you that was not a fun game to attend whatsoever but I appreciate them having me on first segment earlier today but folks we’re not only going to break down the latest on the Sone southpond sha manah and what this move means for the Mets we’re going to get into what is next for the Mets cuz we have some key updates to get into highlighted by the Mets going after after jock Peterson Yes you heard that correctly the Mets finalist to land the coveted DH ultimately landed there with the Texas Rangers what does that mean for the case of Jesse Waker and his future we’ll get into along with that as well as Pete Alonzo Alex bregman the Mets potentially Landing one if not both this off season when could we find them off the market now after more moves happen not only with sha Mania Walker berer is now a boss in Red Sox a plethora of arms have come off the board and over theast past two weeks a plethora of first basemen have come off the board over the past 72 hours now which is having everything looking at pet Alonzo when is he going to make his decision and where is he going to land feels like it’s going to inevitably be with the Mets here but until Pro it otherwise folks that is what I’m going to be standing with how you doing everybody thank you so much for spending the time with me tonight I greatly appreciate that and David I know that something that I’m not completely opposed to either just don’t throw fake news in the chat is all I ask because naturally when we do that we’re going to see people react to that being the endl be all like that’s actual news when that is not in fact the case so folks let’s do a quick roll call to each and every one of you chiming in live right now and again thank you guys so much that we’re going to get into all the key latest details and Mets land and thank you so much once more for spending the time with us everybody it really does mean a lot let’s see we got swagen Burger how are you odd villain Tom David Josh great member chalk Dave kaplitz great member how are you John Rosie Frankie Eric roer great member ston how you doing great member Alberto great member Kish great member going up the list here Matthew I really Michael going up the list here chalk bunt Antonio Garcia Truman Quinn Daniel how are you Brennan Dominic tury how are you going up the list here Eric how are you Matthew how you doing Antonio my man thank you so much for taking the time Manuel Moralis love the name Leo dmac great member how you doing Eddie C Alberto if I didn’t say him already thank you guys come one come all this evening we appreciate you for our latest big Mets update segment where we do have plenty to update and let’s start with the obvious one which is the Simone southb Shaman ey everybody that was big news that we saw earlier today so let’s briefly highlight that a little bit more and just kind of what it means now for the Mets that the Mets have brought Shawn back on the threeyear $75 million deal because as we mentioned it is not just a threeyear $75 million deal for sham sham Mania now returning the Mets also ignore where it says player option and the graphic down below I made this graphic prior to manah returning to the Mets after um opting out of his player option and saying no to the qualifying offer of $21.5 million but sham and I you see the numbers down below everybody but you get not just the 375 what you ultimately get is $23 million or so in deferred money so the Mets now are only going to be charged for just over $22 million per year on the average annual value there with the luxury tax so in simple terms the Mets are paying based on present day value the same kind of contract that essentially Luis srino is on with the a the Mets are actually saving a little bit of money to a certain degree on this as well now obviously they’re not saving anything entirely as they’re paying the Deferred money over a decade long span well after maniah is done with the Mets but the point being is right now at least this was a Savvy thing to do not only for the Mets and their rotation but also for the Mets and sha manah for him and for tax purposes you know not that I not that I necessarily condone whatever anyone wants to do tax wise but as we know especially in the case of shotani having $680 million of a 700 plus million do deal deferred goes directly in hand with his ability to get out of the state income tax that he would otherwise have in California if he say gets that gets those payments a decade from now where he will be outside of the State of California and might not be as prominent depending on wherever he’s residing at the time so in the case of sha manah here similarly he will have 23 plus million do over a 10year span that he can comfortably get where he’s getting more than what he would currently get now in the New York Market assuming that he’s not going to be living in New York when he’s done in his Mets tenure and I think that goes without saying right so it’s beneficial to the player to certain degrees it’s certainly beneficial to the Mets just looking at if they really do care about the luxury tax and why while I know it is a factor into things I know it is not a X Factor for this Mets team and because the reason why I know it’s not an X Factor is exactly why I do see this Mets team finding themselves continuing to go after some key names in this FR agan Market spending big and hey maybe this isn’t the final deferred contract or somewhat deferred contract that the Mets find themselves dabbling in this off season maybe it’s just the first of many we’ll find out shortly give me one second folks before I continue breaking down everything in metsl all answering your comments questions and concerns I also apologize folks unfortunately my lighting I noticed today is not as great as I typically like it sometimes with my settings that I have for my camera it just doesn’t look as good throughout the day I’ve noticed so if it seems like it’s a little too shadowy or just not as vibrant as it is otherwise you know I apologize in advance for that but 1200 how you doing great member of 31 months says sha K Acky would be all World God bless I we love Acky if you know you know uh no name how you doing thank you so much for Ching in Matthew how are you Brennan how you doing going up the list here Woody passing dropped the bomb we know signed the Mets 18 years 1.2 million me yeah I signed a 18year $1.2 million deal yep you got that right let’s see here uh going up the list here wardy being modest not confirming his 18-year contract with the Mets not yet because I can’t confirm something that isn’t official it’s the physical right now so we will wait and see hopefully I haven’t been juicing too much you know I’m just messing around here obviously guys so now let’s talk about a little bit more on Sha manah and what is next for this Mets team I’m not going to harp too much on Shawn I just want to know everyone’s initial reactions to the signing I certainly would love to know how much you’re in favor or against the Mets bringing the Samo Southpaw back to the Mets I’m very happy to see sham manah come back to Queens I think that goes without saying for a lot of you guys he just fits the mold both on and off the field not only how tremendous he’s been with that arms slau change very calees high Sinker of the Zone gorgeous change up nasty sweeper especially Lefty and Lefty one facing those Lefty batters and then we’re looking at sham manah the personality the selflessness the charismatic character there in the clubhouse and The Dugout repping the players numbers throughout all postseason of whoever’s pitching on the mound that day whether it’s sevy whether it’s Peterson whether it’s Kodi didn’t matter he was supporting them all sham andai embodied what it truly meant to be a met in such a short period of time which helped go directly in hand with his great mid-season successes refining his Arsenal there not so much as an Arsenal but rather there as you mentioned with his arms angle and finding a lot more success really the most success he’s had his career since the late 2010s so Shaman who feels like he’s found a home now with the Mets they feel similarly and now he is added to the Met’s rotation I love the depth of the Met’s rotation I would love one more starter and we’re going to talk plenty Roki Sasaki and how that is still very much a potential for this Mets team this off season now granted it is not a guarantee to happen by a stretch nor the Mets at all even the favorites per se but they’re absolutely in the mix for Sasaki and that is the last pig big pitcher I could see them Landing this offseason at this current rate give me one second everybody okay let’s get right back into this one dmac with a $2 Hall says man I a three-year contract and Sterns I trust absolutely David please stop spamming or you’re going to get kicked it’s pretty simple I appreciate you chiming in no less though my man thank you thank you kindly for that kiss great member happy to have you in here as well everybody sha man posting a sub 3.5 earray this past year a 3.75 expected earray over one whip a 3.83 FIP I have been loving that high Sinker especially in the zone it’s such a unique pitch in the sense that a lot of guys utilize a high Sinker in the zone typically don’t have the kind of success that manah had last season and that held true all throughout the course of the 162 for sha maniah and as the year went on as an arm slot angle change he became more of that dominant Ace cber Force giving the Mets length with six inning outings seven inning outings quality 78 Tings the best outings we’ve seen since Jacob deg gr’s time with the Mets and then we saw in the postseason again absolutely nails at times when the Mets need him to be leading them all the way there to the NLCS where certainly wasn’t for a lack of effort from everyone’s end so sha manah so happy to have you back and now he’s added this Mets rotation with God willing a healthy kodai SGA a healthy Frankie Monas one of his closest friends in Major League Baseball going back to their time with the Okland a now the Sacramento eggs and that’s a discussion for another day and yes it is in fact an absolute joke adding David Pearson that we already have in there of course you’re going to look at Klay Holmes there who will be a starter in this Mets rotation and there six-man rotation you got Paul Blackburn you got Tyler McGill you got Griffin Cy there are a lot of pieces here now for the Mets to work with and when you look at their one through five one through six it’s not at all terrible yes I can understand some question marks but at least you have a one two three of SAA Peterson and manah and let’s be frank David Pearson was so good last season that he absolutely can continue to make strides as a number two or number three in this Mets rotation I think we will continue to see that throughout the course of the 2025 year now this is where things get all that more exciting if the Mets just find themselves in a great position to land Roki Sasaki and somehow someway as magical as this offseason has been with Juan SoDo they go out and land Roki Sasaki as well it completely changes the complexion the Mets go from having a solid rotation with plenty upside to a rotation that is one of the better ones in all the national league if you Lan suaki so again I’m not getting my hopes up on Roki but I really love the fact that a Neta met with him already same day as the Yankees apparently B susaki is not meeting with every team as the Phillies were not even offered an opportunity at the table to actually meet with him and until proven otherwise I do believe that has to do with Roki Sasaki not wanting to deal with Philadelphia Philly fans and I’m just going to choose to go with that biased belief even if it’s far from reality no less folks we’re going to talk a bit more on Roki Sasaki we’re going to get into all that a little bit later on in the show but I definitely want to highlight the other news that has happened in Mets land with each and every one of you with the player Pursuits the Mets have been on and ultimately what we think is next for them this offseason uh again dmac thank you so much for that donation earlier I really appreciate that uh 1200 thank you so much for choing in Eric roer great member thank you for taking the time jeffc Mt project we thank you guys kindly if you haven’t already folks please make sure to smash that like And subscribe on as your first chime in as we’re breaking down the L in Nets land Shaman I the Simone southpaw’s back could Jesse Winker be the next to reunion with this Mets team and Al pardon me between Alex bregman Pete Alonzo the Mets are not done adding and they may add if not one then possibly both Bobby G my man happy to have you in here thank you so much for choing in uh dmac brandan Daniel thank you thank you everybody so let’s move Sean’s stats for now and let’s look at what we saw ear today which comes from John hayon see folks Mets showed interest in Jack Pearson before he went to the Rangers Ken Rosenthal was first on the deal jock Pearson ultimately signed a two-year deal there with the Texas Rangers I’d imagine that the Mets didn’t want to go past one year because right around 18 plus million per year there for jock I think is probably a little steep for uh at least the taste of that being in uh Pary and David Sterns and when you look at the other options available in the market Market you’d have to think that a one and Jesse Winker could just be a perfect reunion fit now for this Mets team cuz listen at the Mets signed Jo Peterson there’s a world where they absolutely would have went with a complexion of either signing jock Peterson as a guy that’s going to be more often than not your DH but facing heavy righty batters or it was going to be a situation where you had jock along with Alex bregman then Mark Vientos is at first because pet Alonzo goes elsewhere or it’s a route where the Mets did add jock brought back Pete kept Vientos at third and that’s how they roll things and maybe split a platoon a little bit of jock Pearson at DH and Marte to face lefties for the time being if you’re not going to trade Marte right away so it appears the Mets still definitely want to go down that platoon type route for DH unless they do actually land both bregman and Alonzo if they do that Mark Vientos is going to be your everyday d unless they move bregman to second base which I just don’t see why would you invest North the $200 million into a player just to put him out of his primary position where he has been a consistent uh strong Defender there at the Hot Corner it doesn’t make any sense to me whatsoever Sterns knows how good defensively bregman is and this is something that you wouldn’t be signing him to make him feel at all uncomfortable defensively that makes little sense to me so there are multiple routes to Mets may go down here and it feels that they aren’t completely stubborn one way or the other but I love the fact that they were involved in the market of jock Pearson and listen jock would have been a tremendous get for this Mets uh for the sm’s offense I think he would have been awesome in batting rting the hard things but now that jock is off the board Having side with the Texas Rangers this now opens up the floodgates for the Mets in a Jesse Winker reunion and let’s not forget just how solid Jesse Winker was last season everybody listen between both this time with the Washington Nationals that devastating home run to absolutely end Us in that one- nothing loss against the Nationals NDC on 4th of July an 11:00 game which I was so bothered that we had to have an 11:00 game there it just no one was awake for it whatsoever the team wasn’t the fans weren’t I certainly wasn’t even after I was covering our postgame coverage no less Jack Pearson had 14 home runs 63 runs scored 58 RBI and 14 stolen bags and I’m sorry Jesse Winker not jock Pearson as I meant to say this is the first time in Jesse wier’s career he stole more than one stolen bag in a year he really slim down he looked in the best shape that I think I’ve ever seen him in his career this past season healthier than ever and we saw a 253 average a 360 on base a 405 slug for a 118 WRC plus so 18% better than the average batter in baseball uh just over one war there because he was a plus eight defens offensive player and that negative defensive player playing the corner Outfield and DH Spain time there we know that Jesse Winker has limited defensive upside and we also know that the Mets Outfield configuration right now is Brandon Nemo Tyrone Taylor Juan SoDo Jose Siri Starley Marte if you add Jesse Winker that’s a sixth outfielder type but if you’re going to add Jesse and if you’re GNA platoon Marte and Jessi at DH until you either say trade Marte or that’s just what you’re going to go with anying of the season I don’t hate that I don’t hate that at all I think the Mets can definitely still make that work and have this kind of rotation going with the DH in the season do I still want them to go after Alex pardon me Alex bregman and Alonzo the way that they are right now absolutely and do I think that’s a ro where they where they can land both absolutely as we’ve covered on the platform over the past couple days but Jesse Winker similarly to sha Mani everybody I think we can all agree here it’s so much more than just the talent it’s The Vibes it’s a guy who wants to be here just like Shaman I it was a playoff performer for the Mets that being in Jesse Winker this past year hitting absolute nukes in key playoff games for us and rallying the boys like never tomorrow Jesse Winker brought Aura and excitement to this Mets team greater than anyone else for the most part not named Jose glacius or Francisco Lindor throughout large stretches of the 2024 season Mark Vientos too but Jesse was really in his bag and again this was a guy that was our longtime villain every time he played against US during his time with the Cincinnati Reds or then the Seattle Mariners little stint there in Milwaukee even though it was very short and he was injury riddled which is in part why he hates Milwaukee cuz he has some um uncomfortability during his time there things just didn’t go over well unfortunately will he D this for you at you know what I’m saying but Jesse feels like a prime fit to come back to the Mets in the same type of role they pretty much was platoon he h Corner Outfield if the Mets need him for any Outfield reps injuries inevitably happen throughout the course of season two more reason to have depth like this if Jesse is willing to come back again for him I can understand the lack of appeal because he doesn’t know how much guaranteed playing time he’s getting he knew he was going to be a guaranteed starter at least in the first half of this season every day with the Nationals because they weren’t going anywhere at least in the first half the year in 2024 if he goes to the Mets for World Series expectations he knows that his role will be whatever they say it is and that’s that for Jesse I know that he’s loved his time here and he’s always felt like a forever met as soon as he landed here he made it abundantly clear that he loves to be here he feels so right to be here he’s caring about the fans so much and we care about him but he also cares about his family and he cares about his market and for Jesse if he probably wants the max opportunity you could argue that that will not come with the Mets obviously versus getting a guaranteed full DH role or potentially full corner Outfield role with a lesser club or they have a more favorable batters ballpark for Winker if he’s prioritizing winning at this point in his career and he’s prioritizing coming back to a team that absolutely embraced him probably better than most throughout his entire career come back to the New York Mets here I think we would all love to see that happen The Vibes were Immaculate Jesse Winker is the exact kind of player that you hate to go up against even when he’s not that great of a player but he’s a pest against you for whatever reason like Reese Hoskins endless times until after the first game or so in the Wild Card round against the Milwaukee thank goodness he finally shut up afterwards I love Jesse Winker I cannot thank him enough for everything he did for the Mets post trade deadline last year I firmly believe should the Mets bring him back on say a one-year deal maybe what a seconde option but you know probably right around a one-year deal or so I’m doing that every day of the week then that gives the Mets further flexibility to figure out if they can get a Suitor for Charing Marte via trade or just headed the season with them as your platoon ehes if you don’t sign bregman and if you do sign bregman then bam you’re probably shifting Vientos to First unless you remac Alonzo but here’s the thing that we’re going to get into folks the Mets are actively involved in both markets right now there is great re believe that the polar bear will not only return the Mets that the Mets may also have the best odds at getting Alex bregman right now I know this may seem farfetch and I know it is not a guarantee to happen but the same way that I had optimism about a lot of moves that have happened this off season headline by Juan stto is similar similarly the type of optimism I’m now getting in Alex bregman I have heard throughout the industry that the Mets are heavily pursuing him that this is now legit we have heard reaffirmed sources suggest exactly that today some people that while I initially debated on their credibility did some digging did some homework and they did in fact seem credible on Plenty of it and we’re going to highlight that shortly everybody when is the next jef pass and bomb I’m asking the same question hopefully sooner rather than later but all I hope is that when the Mets do make another offensive move that Jesse Winker has his name labeled all over it that he’s coming back to the Mets on at least a one if not multi-year deal here to be back in Queens we got to bring Jesse back folks uh from his baseball Savant numbers this is what we had in 24 his base running value is so pissed poor and it’s hilarious for a guy who stole 14 bags he’s not a good base runner but he figured out a way he steal bags last year did most of it during his time with the Nationals but still he figured it out also his numbers are hilarious 89th percentile in batting room value so good at the pl to to an extent right xw Oba 65th percentile expected buying average just below League average expected slugging down pardon me average EX velocity 40 percentile Barrel percentage 48 percentile hard hit percentage 34 percentile sweet uh Sweet Spot percentage 11 percentile bat speed 8 percentile so the bat speed Sweet Spot all that’s down squared up percentage 68 percentile Chase percentage 96 percentile Jesse was in chaseing squat 78 percentile with percentage K percentage was above League average in the 55th percentile and the walk percentage 96 percentile arm value 97 percentile even though he has zero range so the guy has a cannon just like Jos Siri and just like Juan stto but he has absolutely no range defensively whatsoever he’s he’s got tremendous value though he’s got a strong arm and he’s just such a fascinating player on kind of how his career went through taking advantage of the Batters box during his time there with the Cincinnati Reds then having some unfortune down years where every bat goes to die there in Seattle and then dealing with an injury riddled year there with the Milwaukee Brewers set himself up to inevitably bounce back there and everyday playing time roll slim fit looking better than ever with the Washington Nationals for the Mets to pickup all thanks to just trading a very lesser pitching Prospect and Tyler Stewart I have no ill well against Tyler but I do absolutely love me some Jesse Winker I love to see him back with this Mets team Mets fans let me know in the chat right now to our replay viewers in the comments down below are you for or against a Jesse Winker reunion because there is one final thing on Jesse Winker that I really need to highlight with each and every one of you I understand that regular season numbers very yearby year and I understand that regular season numbers are regular season numbers so Jesse Winker performed plenty for the Mets in the post season we know he was able to step up then when the Mets need to most but Jesse also has this uncanny ability to step up when the team meets him most throughout the course of the regular season let’s take a look at his splits folks because this is how quite contrast he was to Pete Alonzo throughout the course of the 162 before playoffs you take a look at his splits per baseball reference let’s head to 2024 for Jesse Winker here everybody and you are going to be in for it some of the best numbers out of any Mets batter mind you again this was also including his time with the Nationals but was still impressive first his splits versus right-handed pitching uh 258 average a 366 on base percentage and a 788 Ops uh versus left-and pitching a 236 average and a 674 Ops and a far less sample size you know over 200 less at bat sample size uh now let’s go to what we saw from Jesse Winker in certain situations so let’s go to two out situations Jesse Winker had a 233 Bing average a 382 on base percentage a 420 slug for 802 WRC plus so he wasn’t as much swinging for contact as he was getting on base and slugging well that was great to see what we also see Runners and scoring position for Jesse Winker in 2024 we got ourselves a 327 average a 443 on base percentage a 519 slug for a 962 Ops with men on base in general a 310 on base I mean with men on base in general even if they’re not in scoring position a 310 average 404 on base percentage 473 slug for 877 Ops when we look at Jesse Winker two out hitting let’s look at his two out hitting here and with two outs we see see him with Runners on base let’s see two out with one on there’s 991 Ops Two out with two on and 980 Ops let’s see two outs runs the scoring position three 300 B A I apologize everybody I have unfortunately I got a cold over the past couple days and I’ve been getting this crazy tickle in my throat that usually causes a cough so if I mute myself or pause for a second that’s the only reason why a 300 Bing average a 453 on base percentage a 480 slug for 933 Ops with two outs and rs the scoring position late and close in ball games 300 Bing average 397 on base percentage 533 slug 931 Ops and a tie ball game 258 average 357 on base percentage 433 uh 436 slug 792 Ops within one run 260 average 360 on base percentage 452 slug 812 Ops needless to say we got to bring back Jesse Winker when the team is ahead so when the Mets were ahead when Jesse Winker was ahead with his team a 301 buing average at 843 Ops when they’re behind no bueno 206 671 bring me back Jesse Winker and that’s the final thing I got to say about that now folks let’s go from talking about Jesse Winker to the other news in Mets land regarding players that the Mets have targeted at this point what do I think about proar I don’t see the Mets game profar they’re not going to go after him I don’t I don’t really see how profar fits the bill and proar just feels like he needs to go back to the San Diego Padres to have success right it just doesn’t feel like it’s going to work out otherwise unfortunately but as we just highlighted everybody between the Mets missing out on jock Pearson but showing interest there is the same way that according to Daniel Wexler and Shout to Daniel he knows me um he did have the wording RW here but simply put the Mets were in the mix for Carlos Santana prior to him signing with the Cleveland Guardians same way the Mets were in the mix there for Paul goldi before he sign with the New York Yankees needless to say the Mets had their backup options should they lose out on Pete Alonzo I think they still have their backup options I mean they listen they can go down the trade route in Yanni Diaz they can go down the Fran route still even though there’s not many to choose from outside of Alonzo the Mets can go inhouse with Vientos which very much can in fact become a reality for 2025 but with everything that we have broken down to this point guys it seems unbelievably obvious that the poor bear returning the Mets feels inevitable right now and how they have everything constructed so far this off season they have done a tremendous job a truly tremendous job on doing the waiting game the right way and making sure that they’re not giving in so much to Scott Boris as it is about doing things their way they were always going all in for Wan stto they always want sha manah but not Beyond three years they always had interest in some of these other guys out there even Walker beer who I didn’t highly much yet but Walker beer now is a Boston Red Sox on pretty much a qualifying offer deal at$ 21.5 million kind of crazy how the Red Sox offer the qo to Nick piveta he says no banks bets on himself Peta is still in the free market he’s the best now out there not named Roki Sasaki you could rightfully argue and Walker buus his replacement I like that a lot for the Red Sox I like piveta I do I think they’re still upside with him I think he’s a criminally slept on I love the K toalk ratio but with the three and six picks that you’d have to unfortunately deal with because of the fact that he had that qualifying offer attached to him that was that’s what makes him a little bit less appealing for some teams I don’t see the Mets going after a Peta at this point I don’t see the Mets doing anything on the starting pitching front that is not named rooki Sasaki either uh until proven otherwise which essentially means yes I would be very surprised if the Mets traded and landed Lis Castillo not to say it can’t happen and not to say that things won’t change from now up until say even a day from now or post Christmas you know we may find out more reports that go uh having a contrary uh thought to what I’m currently saying at the moment that’s fine then we’ll adjust we’ll talk about what is next for the Mets here but how they have everything constructed they have perfectly set themselves up well to not only bringing back sham Mani especially after hazus Lardo lineing with the Miami Marlins that was a huge gut punch to a lot of Mets fans toclaim myself I would have love Lardo again a multi-year long commitment there until the 2027 offseason like G crochet Yan High upside Southpaw that throws absolute gas he’s going to be a pain in the neck for us Mets fans because he’s staying in the division and he’s added to already strong rotation there in Philadelphia the Mets have a strong rotation but they certainly can look for more quality that’s why a guy like Roki Sak would be all that more appealing and with that being said everybody I would actually just like to transition for a couple minutes to highlight a bit more on Roi Sasaki and then we will talk from there on a bit on Alex bragman Pete Alonzo the latest with their markets on top of what we’ve already said to this point Peters don’t with the Mets I mean it sound In fairness I disagree I mean I respect the opinion but I wholeheartly disagree I think if Alonzo was done with the Mets uh he would have made it abundantly clear a lot a lot longer ago uh in the ini initial going of the off season for one um I think that Alonzo is in part bothered not only with the Mets but also with himself with how the market has played out and now he has to deal with the reality of it that’s just how these things go uh the Mets played the smartly I’m very happy that they are in the current position that they find themselves in and Drew thank you I appreciate that Jack Graham how you doing great member happy to have you in here all my members choing live on a replay thank you guys so much everybody if you haven’t already Smash It Like And subscribe button if you enjoy the Mets content as we break down the L in Mets land and also thank you guys so much for helping us get a 30,000 subscribers we are just right around 400 away everybody Yes you heard that correctly not even I think like 350 or so just smash those buttons If you’re new if you enjoy consistent coverage on all things Mets all inseason and offseason long we are the number one platform here on YouTube since they started things right around North four years ago it’s all thanks to each and every one of you amazing Mets fans thank you guys so much for the support as always where do I think Alonzo would outprice himself 30 per year I mean yeah but I I don’t think Alonzo is going to get 30 per year anywhere uh truthfully I think he’s going to land closer to the 25 range I’d be very surprised we’re going to talk about Burns as well um find s c wait wait wait Mark vinan said Corbin Burns is looking for a $245 million deal I mean if that’s what burns is currently looking for then he’s going to be in a Blake Snell situation just like what we saw an offseason ago that is what’s going to happen but I I don’t know if that’s true regarding finean let me double check real quick um I don’t I doubt that though I really do again I I don’t doubt in the sense I’m sure that’s what he would want but there I there’s it’s hard to believe that that’s going to happen with the current market for burns cuz listen the fact that I talked about piveta as the best option not named Sasaki tells you you how much of a joke the burns Market has become because of how much he boxed himself out now Corbin Burns still has the suitors and the Giants and other teams that is true but nothing’s going to be Rush with Corbin Burns now and with Corbin Burns things start to fall a little bit more in the Mets favor as well which we highlighted over this past week if there’s any realm of possibility for the Mets to even consider Corbin Burns it would be short-term High average annual value now I don’t see the Mets going out of their way to even do much of that now after Ling but if somehow someway Burns’s Market really crashes and he just wants a massive pay with potentially an opt out right away and to be on a team that’s going to help them win right away the Mets check off a lot of those boxes so I’m looking forward to seeing how the sweep Stakes for Corbin burns are going to go but I’m also looking forward to seeing most importantly here to an extent what is going to happen what our guy and Mr Roki Sasaki so let’s pull up Roki stats give me one second everybody that’s if I can find them there we go I had them all out of out of order unfortunately look at those numbers from Roki suzaki again he has been an absolute anomaly we thought that Yosh NOA Yamamoto was a big deal in offseason ago Ray 25-year-old young Phenom signs a massive $325 million deal that he would have signed with the Mets if he didn’t grow up a Dodgers fan and had shotani already there saying hey come on over here buddy we’d love to have you uh in the case of the Mets and Roki suaki he’s like 3 years younger major upside is not overly dependent on the idea of going to the dotters or even being out west he’s really giving it even playing field of the teams is considering and he also shares the same agent as kodai senga everything we know reportedly this point is that the Mets have shown interest plenty interest in Roki saki Sterns has been on record going back to the winter meeting stating how the Mets will not be doing this for a lack of effort they’re going to give it their best shot but they cannot operate this offseason like that they are going to Lan saki because it could hurt them in their efforts should they say lose out on Sasaki and then they lose out on manah and then they lose out on berer they then they lose out on everybody and they don’t have themselves at all solid rotation heading into 2025 currently the Mets have a solid rotation heading into 2025 I’m not losing any sleep with the current rotation configuration the same way that a lot of Mets fans criticized how it looked last year it looks better it looks upgrade from last year entering the season and there’s higher upside with a lot of this too especially if saying a God willing can just stay healthy and give us a season like what at all similar to what we have in 2023 that’s all we’re begging for right so kodai SGA uh part me not kodai senga Roki Sasaki who again shares the same agent as Koda there that being and Joel wolf they’re looking to even the playing field here they’re looking for teams that can really help with his Player Development which the Mets can greatly with their pitching lab they have been on record stating how much they are impressed by Jeremy Hefner and everything that the Mets are doing with Eric jger Desi Drew school now most recently hired as their assistant pitching coach and everyone that they’re working they in that pitching lab going down to Port St Lucy to get the best out of these guys essentially having their own Drive Line just right there with their own equipment so there’s nothing to worry about and that is how you’re going to get continued success out of these pitchers and to have proper adjustments throughout the course of the year as you have all this new found information to tell you what you’re doing right and what you’re doing wrong the Mets didn’t have that nearly to the same extent at all was night and day during the W ponan regime not so much now obviously with Steve Cohen so the priority is obviously looking at Player Development how can you make me the most dominant pitcher in Major League Baseball is what rook’s looking for he’s looking for obviously team fit media aspect is something to bear in mind the media gave him a hard time during his time there in Japan he didn’t handle it well uh he could benefit a little bit more from a smaller Market team by the same time he also can handle the bright lights especially if he’s prioritizing endorsements any type of sponsorships and to be the true face of rotation checking off every single one of those boxes again would beat the Mets because even with sha manah even with kodai s even with David Pearson it doesn’t matter Roki Sasaki would be your number one right away with that potential could be the face right away same way that wano even Lindor already being here and even if AO returns is undoubtedly the face now of the organization that’s just how these things go Roki Sasaki who the Mets could sign on a contract ranging from 7 to10 million if they can get more bonus pull money than what they currently have because teams can trade north of 60% of their IFA pool from every year and we currently are have $78 million 7 to8 to work with um so if the Mets again continue their due diligence they have their meeting with Roki suaki this goes after they initially met with him at least his team in Japan during the month of September that being in David uh David sturs fast forward a little bit later they have now met one-on-one with Sasaki team there I have no clue how the meeting W but I’m sure went positive so as Sasaki continues to meet with teams like the Chicago Cubs like the Seattle Mariners who will have each row an attendance for it if it didn’t happen already to really try to sell them on going to Seattle it would break me to see him go there but it wouldn’t shock me either because I could see why especially with all the great pitching development that they have done over the years in Seattle why RI suaki could be such a destined fit to land there along with location as well it’ll certainly be beneficial to get back home sooner there to his fellow country in Japan versus if he’s all the way there on the East Coast with say the Mets and Flushing Queens but what we know this point is that the Mets are not only involved but it looks like that they have a legitimate shot to land him Anthony nakomo was on record with foul territory over the past 72 hours so stating how you know he believes that you know Roki suaki truly can go anywhere and the Mets have a legitimate shot at Landing him not only do the Mets have a legitimate shot at Landing Roki Sasaki this off season who would come in and do absolute wonders for their rotation we’re looking at a guy that could potentially be the next Ace of the Met’s rotation for the next decade plus we’re talking 10 to 15 years that is how good he is and how much potential he has and if that doesn’t happen okay okay then we move on from there and we get ready to see what we can do here in 2025 and let’s not forget Brandon Sprout our top pinching Prospect who we firmly believe will impact the rotation at some point throughout the course of the year it doesn’t mean that great things still can’t happen for the Mets of their pitching development as they firmly expect things to continue to Trend upward for sham manah and others there but Roki suaki the same way the Mets can land Roki as the same way that they absolutely still can find themel not Paul gchi they can still find themselves Landing Alex bregman and they can still find themselves Landing pet Alonzo and we talked a bit there obviously that we saw on the Met ply had interest in Jack Pearson before he signed with the Rangers and that’s went in hand with why we emphasize Jesse Winker again it just makes endless sense as we said all offseason long at the Mets are and bringing back Jesse Winker I want jock Pearson and if jock Pearson is off the board I definitely want Jesse Winker to return so here we are you already targeted one guy that fits the Jesse Winker profile you might as well just bring back the actual thing you know so that’s why go say and Jesse Winker let’s hear some remarks from Ken Rosenthal foul territory as of today on the Mets move with sha manah and the future when it comes to pet Alonzo Alex bregman and others what’s the market for Al the market for bregman might do the Mets have a shot at him interesting question give me one second every you can hear the audio but I can’t uh and to answer that question no the lack of Bullpen moves far from concerns me uh that’ll be the last priority the Mets have the same way that that’ll be the last priority for most teams that are pushing for top talent in the FR agent and trade market this offseason there’s a reason why there are a plethora of quality relievers still out there in the frent market and there’s a reason why very few of the quality ones have yet signed you know it goes directly in hand with what the market has been at this point no I’m not concerned dmac for the donation thank you so much uh the Mets had a meeting with saki would it be a surprise if they said that they were leaving that last spot in the rotation open some more trade soon no I mean the rotation right now is set you know like the Mets are not adding another starter until proven otherwise not name Roki susaki if we find out reports in the coming days that say the Mets are still Contin continuing to pursue a leis Castillo type and others via trade there’s still being diligent there then okay then we will have that discuss I’ll be very happy to do so trust me I will uh but Roki Sasaki feels like a luxury if they can land it but something that they’re definitely pushing hard to try to make happen so that’s the latest on that when it comes to Roki now let’s he the latest on pretty much everything that I’ve been reaffirming when it comes to Alex bregman and Alonzo but just let’s hear from Ken Rosenthal himself what’s the market for Alex bregman do the Mets have a shot at him interesting question the market for bregman might be tied in part to the market for ronado and I only say that because if you can get ronado at Price X then maybe you don’t want to pay price y for bregman arnado is not the player that bregman is right now he’s also three years older but bregman is going to cost considerably more so which teams still need a third baseman or would be interested in a third baseman Detroit is one the Red Sox could be another though I think they’re more focused on pitching and the Mets are possibly a third as well as the Yankees now the Mets are interesting because the entire industry believes they’re going to resign Pete Alonzo but if you’re the Mets and you’re going to commit that kind of money whatever the number comes out to be with Alonzo maybe you’d rather pay Alex bregman and then move Vientos to first that’s a choice that the Mets have they can certainly do either of these moves Alonzo of course has great ties to the organization he’s been a great met and I’ve said all along he should be a met but if you’re the Mets and you’re looking at this maybe you prefer the more athletic bregman to Alonzo who is a first baseman and a guy that you’re not so sure about how he’s going to age not that you’re sure about bregman either but I think there are more questions about Alonzo so I would expect that the Mets are at least asking these questions of the agent Scott Boris who represents both bregman and Alonzo but my guess is still that Alonzo is the one that the Mets choose Thank you to every okay so my biggest takeaway from that is uh wasn’t really much under the belief of having both as it is like kind of one or the other not to say that it can happen it’s just not something that he noted there and I do agree I I still see the RO being the Mets sprinting back Alonzo as a far greater reality than bregman I think that comes down to now more than anything the contract value of the two Alonzo is not going to cost you but now bregman’s Market is likely going to cost you let’s be frank I mean Alonzo isn’t even deserving of $150 million I think Alonzo at one 25 feels like the absolute most that some of you guys even want to offer him some of you guys are stubborn are saying hey I only want to go say 3 years 90 with a couple opt outs and let that be that I mean listen wherever you guys stand on the Alonzo front things are continuing to Trend in the favor of the Mets with how the market complexion has been at this point in the case of bregman there’s only a couple teams out there that I think could still be a concern the Detroit Tigers to an extent how far are they willing to go to spend long-term money on a guy like bregman to rekindle that relationship with AJ Hench are they willing to go North of$ 200 plus million I’m not exactly sure especially after how things failed so bad with jav b as they they are definitely going to have skepticism with long-term infield contracts of guys that have already had past success especially World Series success to it agree uh but in the case of say other teams like the Toronto Blue Jays that’s a team that’s desperate that’s a team that lets be frank they are so poorly ran I think they’re idiotic truthfully how much they’ve let a tremendous offense from 2021 just go nowhere over the years like they have only themselves to blame and now they’re the team that’s on the custom of getting into a retool after partying ways with so many of these keys off key offensive talents over the years and could they be a team that’s like all right listen we have to give you a 7-year $215 plus million do contract because we have no other route to go no o no other person is willing to come here no one wants to sign with the Toronto Blue Jays unless we overpay Alex bregman we will be the overpay for you please come to Toronto if you’re Alex probably take that deal because again you want the biggest payday at the end of the day more than likely right he’s already won multiple times this is about doing what’s best for him and his family on the financial front which is why similar to wotto I don’t see Alex fagman going to anything that isn’t the top bidder for his services and the case of the metser they absolutely have been rumored and have been heavily considered in the mix year for Alex bregman so much so that we have actually heard reaffirm reporting and I want to emphasize this person because I did not know them initially and I like to to see if I can find it give me one second here if it’ll pop up for me okay so here you guys see cardinals live uh we see here uh from what it sounds Cohen and Mets are making another outstanding offer to third baseman Alex bregman I’d say this could start tipping the market to get the frag and finally moving other teams in that market have been showing some signs of pivoting some may have already uh be feeling like that they’re out of the mix basically now for those that don’t know who cardinals live is and I trust me you wouldn’t be the only one I did not know this person till today is one of these more Anonymous sources that we’ve seen on X however I did a deep dive on them and they’re pretty legit uh they have been credible there hasn’t really been little to no one that I’ve seen that’s denounced the stuff that they have said they have been on a lot of the news that has happened this offseason before it’s happened and they have been pretty on the money for the most part and I wouldn’t go out of my way to reference them unless I saw that after doing the due diligence myself and I saw multiple Mets Mets fans in the chat from I saw people on my Mets timeline saying guys this guy actually um has legitimate sources and he’s saying this so let’s bear this in mind like you could take it with a grain of salt and that’s completely fine but we know for we’ve known for a number of days now that the Mets interest in bregman is legitimate which is exactly why if the Mets do land bregman I’m not going to be shocked to see it happen if you told me how he into the off season the Mets are going to be a true top player for Alex bregman I would have told you to an agree I’m actually shocked I never saw a world where Alex bregman wouldn’t be a Houston Astro the same way that I don’t see a role where Pete Alonzo isn’t a New York Met could both those things be coming to an end I mean certainly when it comes to his time in Houston being down and out and Mal bregman that’s the case but in Alonzo I I really do think the Mets have the money the Mets have them we know they have the money bring Pete back put Brey at third put Vientos at D and then this is what you do if you want to focus on Vientos as defensive development if you really do throughout the course of that contract start to Teeter them between ventos SK time at third base and DH and then giving bregman reps at second as well should you wish not right away but maybe after the first year or plus of the contract at least cuz you want to maximize bregman’s defensive and offensive value if you’re going to invest into him five plus years now everything and every bone in my body tells me as a Mets fan Alex bregman is not going to sign with the Mets because the Mets are not going to offer this guy five plus years on a contract but at the same time how in the hell are the Mets still involved in the Alex bregman sweep stakes and they aren’t one to at least go five years are the Mets only in the Alex bregman sweep Stakes if they think his Market Falls similarly to Matt Chapman or he has to sign see a one-year deal and then he can opt out or he can opt in for 2026 that’s a possibility I suppose right if it really Falls flat but at the same time the Mets are taking the bregman pursuit seriously right now just like how they liked Willie Adamas for his defensive upside if he got pushed to Third Base so what what is leading me to the exact conclusion well it is everything I’ve said for a while now David Sterns wants to upgrade this Hot Corner defense and he would love to do it by any means necessary within reason by any means necessary where the cut off is I think it’s truly long-term contracts but how are you this involved in bregman without at least offering five years that is why I think the Mets are not only in this but they may they may very well land Alex in the end if they do awesome I’ll be very happy to welcome him and they don’t that’s okay too but the thought of an offense next year with Juan stto Pete Alonzo Alex bregman and then let just say let’s bring Jesse Winker back because we can Vibes would be so unbelievably Immaculate for this Mets team I oh my God I could even begin to Fathom that would be such a fun team such a fun team and then you guys are seen the chat are talking about uh let’s see uh uh Corbin Burns yeah guys we can talk about Corbin Burns as well listen I would love Corbin burns on a short-term High a deal that’s the only way Corbin Burns is happening the Mets are not signing Corbin Burns to a la room deal but and that’s Paul goldm let me pull up Burns here uh that’s Roki s come on where is Corbin Ron one dude I know there he is okay audio is breaking up I apologize the audio should be good now though everybody and folks we’re not going to be too long winning tonight I am probably going to wrap up the show with them the next you know uh we’re probably going to wrap up you know by the time we get to the hour mark in this one at absolute latest just because it’s been a long day for me we got Christmas Eve tomorrow we got Alon ahead and just big big holiday season which I’m very excited about for myself and my family especially uh my my son Shay who’s of six months of age now so this is his first Christmas that we’re very excited for uh but I also know that you know sleepy Sterns is never actually sleeping clearly so who knows when the Mets next move is going to be maybe they have one more trick up their sleeve before the holiday season is officially over post Christmas or so done with honka and everything else we’ll soon find out on that front but what I can tell you is that when it comes to Corbin Burns and when it comes to the Mets pursuit of him it ain’t going to happen guys the the only way it happens if it’s short-term High a so it ain’t going to happen right now it appears but hopefully that it may fall in the Met’s lap as we get into deeper into January assuming that is still there assuming that he’s still around and I know fans have had concerns and skepticism when it comes to Burns because you look at Burns and his K per n and how steadily decline for the past four plus Seasons I absolutely understand that I also understand that burns has also been a steady Ace calber starter Major League Baseball I also know that Corbin Burns if you can land him at say three years 45 mil a when an opt out after each season that would not only do wonders for him with immediate money it would do wonders for the Mets with an immediate Ace and it would also benefit both sides greatly in the sense that if Burns just stays healthy has a great year in a big market like New York especially that he can look for a bigger payday than ever but the reason why I think Corbin burds is still going to land on a long-term deal in the end and I think it’s going to be the San Francisco Giants is simply because Corbin Burns has waited so long to hit the fre Asian market he got absolutely screwed at times by the Milwaukee Brewers especially after David Sterns left things didn’t boat over too well there with Matt Arnold up until he was traded there then to the Baltimore Orioles and he is a guy that’s been looking for that longterm payday Burns can bet on himself the same way that there’s rest that he bets on himself and he doesn’t do well especially in a big market like the Mets then he may never land the money that he was ever looking for in his career so for Corbin Burns even if it is not necessarily the dollar amount that he absolutely wanted I could definitely see him settling on a longterm deal with a team like the San Francisco Giants it just feels like that is inevitably going to happen unless we can get him somehow some way at short-term High a and Bobby G thank you so much I’m wishing the same for you and your loved ones my friend thank you so much for shaming in folks before we wrap up the live show because we will be doing that shortly I would love to answer any comments questions concerns that you guys got for me and again thank you guys so much for spending your evening with me your day night whenever you’re watching this it’s always greatly appreciated let’s see what about Jose I haven’t heard anything you’re not going to hear anything on Jose glacius until we get much closer to the season I’d imagine that is not a market that’s going to be you know hot or anything like that uh but you definitely will see stuff on Jose glazes before we get to spring training for sure it just might not be long before spring training honestly like I could see the Mets signing Jose glacies pretty late into the offseason uh let’s see uh fast nickel thank you so much for the donation I appreciate that my friend Wy what software do you use to stream it depends I actually vary on the softwares that I use sometimes I I dabble plenty of times with streamyard as well uh with labs and others um I’ve also used there’s this one other platform that I’ve used used before that’s actually um um I’ve used different Studios as well yeah there’s very there’s various softwares that I use I’ve actually fluctuate because depending on the location I’m in one may work better than the other fast thank you so much for the donation I appreciate that but especially if you need something quick like if you need something quick uh for if you’re trying to do a quick project or if you’re just trying to get something as quickly start up as possible the same way even like the Mets and their YouTube channel us for example streamyard is like the the the best for dummies like the best like basic one to start with for sure I highly recommend um out of most of them um I read Burns wants 245 where is where is this Corbin Burns 245 nonsense I I wouldn’t be shocked to hear it but not a chance and Hell the Mets are going to be giving it that’s for sure Matthew shaly my man how are you happy to have you in here let’s see what mark find S has to say on the latest here Houston was a team that as long as they were in that mix uh Mark what is the market looking like for Alex bregman well it’s getting smaller for sure uh you know Houston was a team that as long as they were in that mix where you could move parades over to first uh and open up third base for bregman that was seen as a possible sort of soft Landing for bregman that’s gone now uh and when you look at the teams that are still in the market for a third base you know the Yankees keep getting brought up I don’t see them being interested enough after spending the money they’ve spent already on Max freed bringing in the Cody Bellinger contract uh Devon Williams I don’t see them spending the big money on bregman um the two teams I would look at are the Red Sox and the Tigers and the Tigers obviously it’s a it’s an obvious connection with AJ hinch there he managed him in Houston they need a third baseman it would be a very good fit the question is whether or not Detroit is willing to spend the money it’s going to take to sign him Boston kind of the same thing we know that they have money to spend they were in on Juan sto uh you know they just give Walker bu some money they traded for Garett crochet who’s not that was prospects not money so there is money there um the question is do they want to bring in bregman move de to First and maybe use casses as a trade ship because if not with CIS at first and de at third then there’s not really a fit for bregman so there there are some other pieces that have to move around uh before Boston becomes really a team in play Mark let’s go across the diamond in our previous segment we talked about what the market looks like right now for first baseman Pete Alonzo what do you know another guy whose Market has shrunk uh considerably here we were talking about those first base musical chairs and when you look at how many first Bas have moved in the last week Alonzo is definitely the the big one still out there not only in terms of free agency now that we’ve got um you know Walker and Gman and Santana off the market but also you’re seeing some first basement move in the trade market so um you know the Mariners I think are still a possibility they certainly have a fit there but I think they’ve got to move Luis Castillo and his money before they’re going to commit to spending the kind of money it’s going to take to sign pet Alonzo everybody that I’ve spoken to Executives around the league uh agents Etc they all think Alonzo is gonna wind up back with the Mets I think that’s where he’s probably headed yeah the question is what does the deal look like is it going to be like a five-year deal with opt outs after years one and two more of that sort of the deals we saw last year with some of the Scott Boris clients where they signed a deal but have a chance to go back on the market uh in a year or two that would be my guess but uh you know the meth certainly seemed like the most logical landing spot for Alonzo at this point and Corbin Burns he still is out there what’s that market looking like for him well like bregman like Alonzo another Scott Boris CLI uh you know freed sort of set the pitching Market this year with that eight-year $218 million deal burns from what I understand is looking for somewhere along the lines of that Steven stratsburg deal from five years ago $245 million the Giants were said to be very interested uh I was told they had an offer out there that did not quite approach that number uh it remains to be seen whether they’re willing to you know move that number up or potentially move elsewhere and and look for other Alternatives the Blue Jays are another team that I’ve heard has a lot of interest in Burns but the question is are they willing to go seven years on a pitcher uh it’s it’s very tough right now to find a team willing to commit seven years at that kind of 30 plus million dollar aav so uh Burns is going to have to wait a little bit I think unless the Giants or blue jays really jump up and seize control of that market okay so Corbin Burns 245 is what he’s looking for that’s still crazy I just don’t see it happening at all I I really I really don’t at all with this current market I don’t maybe the San Francisco Giants and the Tron Blue Jays play the Battle of Who Wants to be the bigger idiot to invest long term and Corbin Burns I mean by all means they could go ahead and do that but still I I think in the case of Burns in his Market he will if he lands a long-term deal I think he’s Landing more than Max free yeah I think he’s going to land over 200 I don’t know if he gets to 245 though maybe would added incentives maybe would have created a bonus as well uh but if it goes short-term High AV it completely changes the playing field and we will cover that all to a te on the platform should it in fact happen everybody I know it’s something that’s been rumored but that’ll go directly in hand with how the market plays out and what feels like it’s going to be a lawen market for some Scot Wars clients yet again in an offseason where SC war will play this as long as he possibly can even if it means the demise of the players he finds himself representing not surprised to hear it far from it but I certainly expect to see this one drag out for a bit Mets fans that is going to do it from your guy wardy I wanted thank you guys all so much for chiming in to potentially our final live show of the holiday season at least so guys if this is the last time I see you until after Christmas is over then a merry very Merry Christmas to each and every one of you happy Hanukah to all celebrate what ever holiday you guys are uh spending and
