hey Dan coacho here along with Los D of NorCal Sports Network with a video on Kyle Tucker before we get going let us thank our sponsor Chapman Law Group check out Chapman Law Group in the description of this video and give us a like And subscribe if you would it really helps us out thanks so much all right Los we get into this Kyle Tucker is on the trade block according to many reports the Houston Astros Kyle Tucker a young 20 going to be 27 years old entering the 25 season a superstar these guys don’t come up too often and as we get into this the San Francisco Giants the team we root for are supposedly in on trade talks along with a couple of other teams mainly the Chicago Cubs may have a better package don’t know what the Giants can do we’ll talk about the package but let’s get into this right off the top Juan stto just signed for 15 years 765 million I’m not so sure who I’d rather have I kind of think I might rather have Kyle Tucker and his speed and his versatility in his all-around game over Wan stoto what do you think yeah I I’ll I’ll go on record right now and and say I am I think he’s a better player than wotto I think he he brings speed he brings defense and he doesn’t strike out as much he doesn’t have the flare Soto does um you know baby he I don’t know why he doesn’t have like the big name like he’s won a championship I believe he’s won two championships with with Houston so he’s been in the spotlight in big games in big po postseason uh runs has come up clutch he’s just a allaround better player uh in my opinion than stto so if you can land a guy like that and Lord knows over the last few years the Giants have been all in on this guy and all in on that guy whether it’s free agent or trade so this may be another tease but if they get him I mean the Giants off season so far on a scale of one to 10 Yas moved me a zero Chapman moved me about a one will Adamas moved me about a six Kyle Tucker moves me about a nine or 10 love the guy and that would show me and a lot of our fan base uh the Giants are serious about competing in the NLS that they get him right and I think to give up to get a Kyle Tucker you’re going to have to give up a probably like a Kyle Harrison and maybe a Luciano something along those lines I I’m hearing they want a corner infielder and pitching Casey Schmidt to me I don’t understand why the Giants haven’t giving this kid an opportunity he’s a gold glove third baseman excellent glove his Bat if you look at Casey Schmid’s minor league stats he’s got an 803 uh Ops in Triple A in two or three seasons of tripa equivalent to about one season this kid just needs a chance to play he actually hit higher than Matt Chapman last year in limited play hit 252 had a lower K rate than Chapman and as and Ramos I don’t understand why teams other teams aren’t clamoring to go after a Casey Schmidt because you could probably get Casey on a low buy right now because the Giants are not for whatever reason valuing his glove and he’s got some pop the kid hit 19 homers last year between Triple A in San Francisco in less than a full season at bats and that is Los coming on the heels of being sent up and down not playing having his timing constantly thrown off look you and I played the game we know try go hitting a a 97 m per hour fastball when you jump into the batting cages once a week now go every day and see the difference no no doubt his value is is not very high right now because he’s not been showcased by the Giants he’s not been treated well uh by the Giants we have been very consistent on this channel thinking that he should be uh the Giants third Bas of the future but they’ve gone the the safer veteran established even though he’s more on the downside of his career on this channel we like guys with the stock going up rather than going down and overpaying so we’re big Casey Schmidt fans but if he’s not going to be here in San Francisco as a third baseman and now as a short stop since Adas here then and they’ve already given the job to Fitzgerald at second then you know if he has to be packaged in a deal maybe Harrison uh Casey and maybe doval will get it done for Tucker um you know we hate to see him leave but we also would like to see him succeed uh because we know him a little bit and if he can go to Houston and and make a name for himself we’d be really really happy for him and at the same time get one hell of a Allstar in Tucker in return absolutely Kyle Tucker would be amazing for the Giants and I’ll tell you what I don’t know if I’d make the deal just for a half year or a full year of Tucker the Dodgers when they traded for Tyler glasnow a year ago with Tampa Bay part of the deal in the trade was a was glasnow agreeing agreeing to an extension I think if Juan stto got 15 years 765 which took took him to basically age 41 you could do a probably a uh Harr let’s see Tucker is going to be what 2 he is 27 he’ll be 28 January 17th so that would if you gave him a 12year deal to take him to age 40 that’s kind of what the market is if you want to get this guy and keep him because if he walks in free agency he’s going to get that deal we’ve seen Bogarts get his deal to age 40 we saw um Trey Turner get his deal to 40 a lot of these guys are getting deals to their 40 now you know the long-term deals the 12 13ear deals so how about a 12year deal for Kyle Tucker in the neighborhood of 45 million a year and that would get you about 540 so maybe you go 550 that’s and offer him that deal hey sign here we make the trade we’ll get you sign your life’s set and yeah and he’s a guy that that you give that kind of money too because you just surround your team by him he’s a legitimate Superstar and I know some people will think well he’s a left-handed hitter it’s going to hurt his power because of right center field and the dimensions is the ballpark but he’s like I like we said he’s a little bit better than SOS he can beat you in a lot of different ways not just power he gives you a great glove he’s gonna give you he’s gonna steal you some bases and the thing that maybe one of the things we love most about him is he doesn’t strike out a lot you know if you look at his stats the last few years he walks about as much as he strikes out so he’s not going to be a rally killer and if you stick him in between uh adamus and and and Chapman or Ramos as a 345 that’s a really formidable 345 which Giants have had not had in a very long time so really be excited to get him he’s look at his Ops plus last year 181 now he his his season was cut short because he had a bone bruise might have even been a micr fracture in his shin or knee or something like that so it cost him a lot of at bats about 300 plus at bats or plate appearances so but he still hit last year 23 home runs was on Pace for over 40 only struck out 54 times but look at those walks 56 he actually had more walks than strikeouts that’s kind of Juan SoDo is you know Juan stto is constantly getting walked his War for his career over 162 games is 5.9 I I think this is a player that is probably a top 10 player when he’s healthy on a regular B maybe even top five this a this is a star I can tell you doing Fantasy Baseball as long as I have in the last few years that Kyle Tucker is a top seven player drafted every year if if Fantasy Baseball is all about statistics which it is and numbers he is a top seven player in fact he got drafted six last year and Soto got drafted 12 doesn’t mean much and that grand scheme of things Soto had a great year but I like Tucker as a as a better player overall I really do I think he’d be a great giant yeah when you when you look at it that way absolutely and he’s he’s going to be less expensive than than stto yep yeah so you getting get equal value you’re going to get better more stolen bases um and you know I know you’re in the who knows how old Juan stto is age-wise I don’t think we have to worry about that with Kyle Tucker his his ID and his birth certificate are are are are pretty valid about how old he is and we don’t to worry about that he’s just hitting his prime um God he he would just be a great number four hitter and you know pencil him in for 280 30 to 40 homers and 100 or plus RBI every year as long as he’s healthy absolutely absolutely so I think this would be a move that would benefit the Giants they’re going to have to come up with you know a package that beats other teams packages but you put Kyle Tucker every day in your lineup right field you now you’ve got the left-handed bat to put in between A Ramos and an adamus or Chapman it moves it makes the order longer stretches it out so now you can move Bailey down further in the lineup I think Matt Chapman ideally is suited six spot in the lineup maybe seven in a real deep lineup I was thinking six or seven but the Giants have had him at four and no lower than five and Chapman is a really solid veteran player he brings you he’s a great competitor he’s a leader he shows up all important things to a team he’s a Savvy base runner smart smart ball player but look this isn’t a knock we’re not trying to knock Matt Chapman but he does have a high strikeout rate because his swing path is more conducive to driving the ball instead of just making contact at times when that’s all that’s necessary right and I’ve always said a team like the Dodgers who had a huge you know a great long deep lineup last year Matt Chapman would have been amazing for the Dodgers but if the Giants can add more pieces they’ve already done adamus now if you add a Tucker and if you can do that now you and you get a Corbin burn somehow now this team looks like a legitimate playoff team now let’s get Luis Arius while we’re at it another left-handed hitter and a guy that Hardy never strikes out so imagine him imagine him hitting second in this lineup and the San Diego Padres according to John Haymon just put out a little bit ago that they are open to listening to some of their veteran players does that mean San Diego is financially in some trouble they cannot afford to pay all these remember they they signed Machado they extended Machado they’ve got Bogarts they got tatis three huge contracts so this this could mean that the Padres are looking to move which would help the Giants possibly because now you might be able to get past the Padres and sneak into one of those three Wild Card spots yeah this is the economics of baseb we talked about it a little bit with uh with Ned last night and uh you know it’s unfortunate that some organizations have TV deals that start falling apart for whatever reason and you know it’s business the strong Will Survive the Giants have a lot of money and the Astros and Padre’s are looking you know maybe do some fire sales so why not be the team that get their players and poach their players why not it’s been a long time um so I’m all for get as many as possible and the the few young guys homegrown guys that we have that we really are high on can develop as well make for a real exciting season and make for some real good conversation on this channel right right absolutely I want to show you something here and just take a quick peek at something here I’m see if I can pull this up on the screen and we will just take a look at a stat head which is always fun to look at but let’s take a look at this staad here and take a look at this is overall stats now obviously the one on the right has a little bit more war obviously more games played played played appearances but look at the batting average stolen bases the slugging percentage the Ops and the Ops plus now who am I talking about you think uh just a guess um SoDo on the right and Tucker on the left you got it there you go take a look at that the projection here guys is if Tucker played a whole season I think Kyle Tucker is maybe the better player look at the stolen bases would have been even higher uh batting average pretty similar on base similar slugging similar I mean they’re very similar ball players but Tucker’s got more of the speed they’re about the same age Tucker’s a year older but not going to cost as much we just said you can probably get him it’s probably going to be about 45 million a year compared to sto’s 51 but you’re only going to go 12 years instead of 765 we said 540 I think that’s Tucker open market range go get him San Francisco please all right guys thanks for watching this video we really do appreciate it check us out on NorCal Sports Network we’re here live nightly and uh we’ve got you covered for
