[Music] that is a tough fa for the Golden State Warriors as they fail to beat Indiana and Indiana’s rolling right now they’ve won six to seven they’ve won five in a row and they’ve improved to 6 and0 all time at Tas CER they’ve yet they lose inside this building something’s got to give as the Warriors drop this one by six they have to wear this one until Christmas Day when they take on the LA Lakers we’ll talk all about it here in Toyota War Plus game live with the pride of yel Zen kada NBA champion Festus ail I am Bon Hill and the game of runs a game of runs right that’s what Hoops is all about and the Pacers made all the plays on the stretch Fe it made all the plays throughout the game their Pace was really what you could see this whole game The Warriors had 11 turnovers they gave up 13 points off of that the paces on the other hand they had 12 turnovers the Warriors did not score off of that so every time the Warriors gave the ball up the Pacers went on to score every time the B the Pacers got the ball they it they just they never let the Warriors never conceded anything at The Rim they were right there bigger guys Miles Turner was contested every shot the bench for the Warriors did a great job tonight but the Warriors need to find a way to have offense that they can count on at the end of the games fesus laid it out beautifully the Warriors didn’t capitalize on their opportunities when you look at the score differential the Warriors left six points at the free throw line they also left 16 points in transition 10 for them uh 26 for the the the Pacers I mean this was a game of who can capitalize on the mistakes of the others and the Indiana Pacers took over and the Warriors now three and seven in their last 10 it really they were rolling in the first half they were up 46 to 37 it felt like they had the tempo they were dictating the pace they really made you pay this is not a great rebounding team in the Pacers they’re actually 28th in the league right now and rebounding but still tonight against the Warriors at home where the Warriors should have been the ones dictating the pace and playing with Force they actually ended up being the ones because the Warriors turned the ball over to start the game gave them some momentum gave them some confidence offensively and they just came into the game and just were kept they kept pushing the Warriors never pushed back yeah lack of physicality there about to go to St Warriors all night long but they did get back into the basketball games even in the third quarter you got to credit Andrew nart that that young man for the Indiana Pacers he knew exactly where he was going making sure that Steph Curry who is the head of the snake if you take that off you got to let the body see what it’s going to do which is the role players the bench for the Warriors did a great job they were scoring but they could not sustain that scoring effort because when you take Steph Curry out that gravity that they usually run that offense through it wasn’t there and that ball movement that Steve K keeps talking about that’s what the Warriors need to get back to especially in those crunch time situations Those runs were made when Steph Curry will push the ball off the floor and they get shots and they get offensive rebounds that’s when you see the Warriors rolling when they couldn’t get those rebounds they weren’t getting good shots then they really struggled there with great scouting on them hard you call them in the pregame show saying going to see a lot of nart exactly he was locked in I mean it was almost like a box and one in certain cases way he was focused on steep but on your point of passing the ball up if you could do a diagram looking from an eagles perspective of how Indiana pushed the ball up the floor it was Tyrese halberton constantly searching for his teammates going up the floor versus the lateral passes that you saw Golden State doing and it Wasted Time by that point the Pacers were able to get back on defense and then it was a we have to create we have to figure this out and that takes a lot out of the the GW offense that isn’t super easy in the half court to be able to to execute and the half court offense failed them again down the stretch here where the Warriors this game was in the balance how many times have we said clutch time situations who’s going to make a play for the go to State Warriors well the plays are made on the other sideline I’ll say the Pacers play the triangle offense on that half of the Court really well they forced Draymond have to come over for help and then JK had to make a decision between the two uh assignments on the end but Miles Turner is one of the best three-point Shooters on the floor for the Pacers I’d rather you come up H stretch five who can shoot it Miles Turner is a good player four for four in that fourth quarter again and the Pacers look they turned the ball over four times but to both of your points the Warriors did not make them pay not scoring off of one of those turnovers and the Warriors actually took care of the basketball in the fourth quarter to a shot 7 to 21 however and just 33% now Stephen Curry goes two or 13 from the Florida night he’s had some low-scoring nights over the last week no doubt about that Memphis last straty where he scored just two points and for the first time in his career played 15 minutes it didn’t make a field goal well tonight he had to wait until the 441 second Mark in the third quarter to make a field goal just going two of 13 10 points tonight the plus minus went to his Factor but 35 minutes and that’s on Andrew nimart and IND that Pacers paying attention to details and knowing where step was at at all times we talking about how this is a copy cat League Bonte couple games ago the Memphis Grizzlies paid no attention to anybody else they had a guy assigned to Steph Curry and said don’t even think about helps side defense just focus on Steph and that guy held Steph to two points since then every team has found a way to do this in some kind of variation right now the Indiana Pacers which is not a great defensive team they just copied the same thing just put a guy Andrew neard right on Steph Curry and make sure that he doesn’t get anything going and with that they broke up the offense now for the Warriors in a game like this whenever you have people focusing on stuff like that your job if you’re a role player Brandon psky Moses Moody any of the guys Dennis sha who’s a role player who is a ball handler as well your job is to penetrate the defense make other guys commit once they do that then a tjd is open on the lob then a Andrew Wiggins is open on the wing then a Jonathan kaminga can drive or or whatever it is you saw that in in in in different stance but you didn’t see that consistently consistently it’s a great point there was a play in which Steph was bombarded with Pacers defense he was able to get the ball over the defense to an Andrew Wiggins at the free throw line who was then able to find a JK for an easy lob these types of things when you’re getting overwhelmed by defense where are your players where are they moving and cutting to be within your eyesight I kept looking for that one play I don’t know what’s going on but there was a beautiful play in which his Defender uh Steph’s Defender as well as the screeners defender came up on him he was able to get the ball over the screener defense and then be able to keep the offense going I don’t know why the Warriors have not been able to capitalize on that the same way that Tyrese halberton was doing that all night no doubt tjd was four for four in that first quarter with eight points he had a big solid night playing off with Stephen Curry 13-8 for the big fella that’s the whole point of when you say strength and numbers and you about How Deep The Warriors are that’s exactly what it is when Steph Curry is getting double teamed when he is when they’re taking him out the game they have other guys on the team with high IQ that can play and that can score the whole point of going small and and really cap doubling down on that small lineup Steve cerr is you have IQ players high IQ players that can score at any point at any point in the game you’re supposed to play faster than the other team they did not do that tonight the Pacers were faster than it even if they were even though they were on the back to back tonight you’re supposed to make them make those Tire leg legs run the whole time especially in the second half but it didn’t capitalize on it they turned the ball over got out of rhythm got out of whack offensively and they just never could get into Rhythm the whole rest of the game and we witness another special performance from Tyrese halberg who finish with 16 points 12 assists and six rebounds I think he’s one of the young exciting players to watch in the NBA fezy what do we need to call the hotel that the basers stand that maybe maybe they’re too comfortable here get ringa fire alarm at 3: in the morning wake up they got their feet up in the in the house over here and Chas Center they are at home they got their feet up got their feet on the couch I don’t know what’s going on anymore I’m sicking them heart here at J Center a couple years ago he destroyed the Warriors in an overtime win now he’s shadowing Steph Curry all over the place I’m sticking his team Andrew nart tyes hurn Pascal seaka even Ben Matan coming into the game making plays I mean you got to find a way to make teams uncomfortable here in that third quarter highlight that he’s a 20% three-point shooter basket finishing at the basket and making the three threes in the third t that’s found money he’s made a good career for himself man little guy in this league he’s been able to capitalize on using his speed his high IQ and and he is every time in transition you see him trying to play faster than the other team that’s exactly what you want to see from the Warriors point guard no doubt about that a tough L for the goto State Warriors 3 and seven in their last 10 games Indiana’s rolling Warriors need to figure this out we’ll hear from the head coach Steve cerr on the other side you Toyota Warriors post game live think Steph one went two or 13 I mean did you um are you seeing like fatigue at all in in maybe his shooting lately uh well not last game you know um so tough night for him but um you know it happens um I thought I thought we got good looks um for much of the game I thought our guys played um really good basketball uh for good for good stretches slow start with the turnovers and then we got we got that settled quickly and uh our guys competed and um had had chances we just couldn’t couldn’t put the ball in the basket and U sometimes that’s what it comes down to with with the way kaminga played do you feel like you know your message was received a little bit I I don’t I don’t like what are we what are we talking about like we this is there’s 82 games there’s all kinds of stuff happens I coach and so I say stuff and I say stuff to all the guys and JK was great tonight played it played played uh a fantastic game so um not about a message or anything just it’s all part of the Season generally see seemed to like you like the offense late in the game you just I mean is that right you just feel like you miss shots I thought we had some some good looks um again we we really took care of the ball um after that first quarter I think we only had maybe five turnovers the last three quarters um and yeah got some good looks we had we had some possessions that uh that weren’t great but um all in all pretty good looks uh love the way the guys competed and and stuck together and um had some really good performances from from several people um just um like I said um you know just couldn’t couldn’t knock down shots enough shots to win the game it also seemed like that you they found some defensive energy in that fourth quarter that maybe wasn’t always there in the first three uh did you see how what do you think of the fourth quarter defense it’s great yeah you know like I said we we competed and I thought we got um you know a little down um couple times earlier in the game you know hung our heads a little bit um you know complained to the refs like we we we lost our energy first quarter we were throwing the ball ahead getting it out quick second quarter that kind of came to a stop and that that really hurt us um but I saw that um that spark in the second half um guys did a great job job getting back in the game um just couldn’t couldn’t finish it Draymond left for you know pretty much the entirety of the third quarter was that a he came down to see the training stuff I think shudder was a minus 22 um what have you seen from him in terms of getting to know the offense the system working around him and adjusting yeah he’s uh you know it’s the third game with us so it’s going to take some time but I love um I love what I see from Dennis um you know just in terms of the the ball pressure um I thought he did an excellent job defensively um you know he’s a guy who uh is uh streaky as a shooter I’ve seen him um and I I know it’s just a matter of time before he starts knocking him down but there’s going to be nights where shots aren’t going but um Dennis is a great addition for us and um you know he’s going to help us win a lot of games what makes the the pacent is so hard to defend it looks like I mean obviously halberton is doing his thing but they looked like they were get able to get open shots maybe at a pretty high rate at times five out you know modern NBA five Shooters um makes makes for a lot of court to cover so when uh you know SE yakum and Turner are are stretching you out U topping you know they’re big Shooters you have to honor that and it opens up the lane [Music] what do you think the team needs to improve the most to play against Lakers on Wednesday um besides the shouting efficience uh I I just think we have to keep keep at it you know keep uh keep plugging away um you know there we’ll watch the film tonight and I’m sure there’s some things we can improve on you know execution wise at both ends um but I’ve said it all year I I really like this team I like the guys I like the competitive desire um I like how connected they are and um you know it’s just a matter of um taking that next step as a team you know um showing the um you know the grit and the execution to to finish these these close games that we’re not finishing right now Steve getting back to kaminga real quick not just the points but the way he scored tonight really attacking aggressive and he had four assists tonight is this the prototypical type of game you want yeah this is this is the the JK we want spent a lot of time in the paint um you know took care of the ball um had a couple really nice passes um found buddy early in the game for a three on a beautiful play um and um really attacked so this is uh you know this is a a great example of of of how JK needs to play I’m really proud of him for coming out and and playing that way and um you know he’s uh he’s getting better and it’s fun to fun watch his development thank you
