the winner meetings are in full swing we got Marquee free agent signings we’ve got trades we’ve got rumors and news that just won’t quit what happened to that Taylor Ward trade I thought Mark Mark fand that really like the trade and and those that don’t I have a full reaction to the trade spoiler alert I’m not a fan that’s probably putting it lightly I have that video that is a separate video we went live after that trade went down please go find that for all of the fun that ensued and that is also where if you’re looking for any max freed Yankees uh context or or reaction that’s going to be there too we went live when those two they those two uh moves happened within a half hour of each other so we already did that we did that about 3 hours ago this is live stream number two of the evening and in this live stream we’re going to talk about we talk about bregman we’re going to talk about Taylor Ward we’re going to talk about Corbin burns the Giants and the Blue Jays appear to maybe kind of sort of be Front Runners depending on who you believe and what you’re seeing could that be leverage I had the Giants Giants were my prediction way back when uh at the end of October Blue Jays would be a big move um we’ll talk about the Yankees they got Max freed I’ve been saying what they need to do they need Christian Walker they need to go out and improve the defense in that infield he’s one way to do it there’s two other ways to do it uh we can talk a little bit more about that so we’re going to go through everything going on we’ve also got what else we going to touch let’s talk about we can talk about Dylan CE will the Padres trade Dylan doesn’t make sense we have and we’ll lead off it’s not in the graphic but it’s where we’re going to lead off because I want to get sort of a move that I really liked today out of the way and that move is Nate Nathan of Aldi to the Texas Rangers 3 years 75 $5 million I have been talking about how the Rangers have to be aggressive for their rotation they have to get somebody they bring avaldi back I I think if you had your choice of all the options that were in that range he is perfect he was right on with the years that I sort of expected right around three years I could have seen if he was going somewhere new maybe a 2-year deal with an option for a third but he’s getting 3 years and 75 5 million from the Texas Rangers and again this is a great move this is the Texas Rangers team that you’ve got deg Gro at the top but deg Gram’s got to stay healthy and look you kind of need to go into the season placing an over under of so hype that my M’s jumped from number 17 to the number three pick yeah Jack congratulations on that by the way the two teams Colorado and I’m blanking on the other team that had the odds for the number one pick falling out not even in the top three right Toronto Bluejays had the odds to be right at that Five Spot they’ll be at seven so that kind of stinks but uh yeah congratulations that was the biggest that was the biggest jump um the NS maybe the biggest winner did the Blue Jays should sign Anthony Santander Lamar you like it the Blue Jays after making such a defensive-minded first move like that they kind of have to they they have to Yankees trading strowman or Cortez with Spencer Jones to get a Cody Bellinger or Kyle Tucker Frankie beadon thank you for that donation again thank you for the donations coming in uh Lamar I don’t like it but again if it is part of a plan and that plan involves now Corbin Burns and a a a real legit bat then I’ll start coming around to the whole thing I I’m gonna miss uh I’m gonna miss Horwitz though and Frankie B of donuts do you see the Yankees trading strowman or Cortez um so to I I don’t see Kyle Tucker going and that has been put out there I think there’s been a lot of talk today about Tucker but it has also been put out there that the Astros uh similar to what they just did with bregman would run out the clock with Kyle Tucker rather than trading him and they have to look at their team as it is they kind of need three pieces to add to that lineup you trade Kyle Tucker Spencer Jones is a question mark you’ve got to get right now ready pieces and if you don’t get that now I don’t know I I I I I think you’re setting yourself back so Houston I think holds on to talk about fber Valdez is a whole different story so I can’t see that and as far as a Bellinger trade if you grab Christian Walker I don’t think you need Cody Bellinger yeah I’m GNA stay on that I’m GNA stay right there if you go if you go and grab Christian Walker I’m gonna say Cody Bellinger is unlikely I’m not going to rule it out but I’ll say it is unlikely thank you for the super chats and good news they’re playing all right so final thoughts on the Rangers and this native Baldi deal I like it when I think about this Rangers rotation now with avaldi and deg Grom at the Top If de Grom is only going to give you cuz you kind of need to set an over under on how many starts do we really think he’s going to give us you’re looking at probably 15 to 20 as the over under and many would take the under so you need to have another topof the rotation arm in a world where the Rangers felt like they could be aggressive with their financials I think they would pursue another I have them as a team to watch for a trade for somebody like Jesus lazardo that would really take the Rangers rotation to a whole new level you get a valdi you get to Grom you add somebody like Lardo in Gray Molly and then you start to have the options Bradford rocker lighter Dunning options for days for the back half of that rotation and you need options especially when again deg Grom is pretty pretty breakable I like what the Rangers did today I think this was a good move by them burns are we right um Robbie I I I would love we got to connect because I I gotta think that um Red Sox Nation what fan bases are ready to revolt Heim will you if they somehow get BL thoughtful face smiley face money bag dollar bills face I will will always be a met oh my God I just did it the Freudian slip I will always be a blue jays fan till I die but I from year to year will hop in on some teams that I really uh like and enjoy and the Mets are certainly setting up to be one next year the white socks would never do that trade with the Mets on your earlier video the Mets going to have to at least give up three top prospects for chock hat who’s choat bad job by the text to talk there um maybe BEC the r was missing um um it’s it’s it’s all fine if the Mets aren’t going to do that trade or I’m sorry if the white sarks aren’t going to do that trade then I don’t know again we’re we’re going to have a tough we’re going to go back to the Dylan CE thing last year and that’s probably what we’re going to do we’re going to run back the whole Dylan CE where it takes forever for Chris get to finally do TR could get that would be great sign me up for that think that’s a good move the problem is how much is that going to Galvanize the fan base right when you think about now again the Red Sox this this this is setting up to be it’s not done yet but it’s setting up both promises Mets have real chance it’s it’s setting up if I’m Boston next look again we’re not there yet Boston can still have a a very big off season but if we go down the road where they underwhelm the fan base again just don’t say anything at the beginning of the off season just say we’ve got our guys and we’re going to move forward just that’s it don’t say anything because it sets an unrealistic expectation because no team can force any player to just go sign so you could go out there and throw the money at him but if that player does not want to be there because he doesn’t like the coaching staff he doesn’t like the the the the park he doesn’t like the city he doesn’t there’s so many factors that could come into play I would just if I’m Boston next year again this could be nothing you Burns could be the deal it could be Burns uh you could trade for Garett crochet H and you could sign I don’t know Pete Alonzo or or Alex bregman or somebody right and it’s a successful offseason still time to do that but all of these dominoes falling that the Red Sox were interested in and and we referenced it uh at the beginning that Bill Simmons had a tweet with all the serious talk it’s got to be stressful I’m stress from my side because I want I actually want a a power bat and I’m not getting it that’s all I want is a power bat for my team and I’m not getting it I don’t know if I’m going to get it uh thank you Robbie for the donation uh thank you also to uh James see Sasaki likes Hefner a lot do the Mets have a real chance I am going to stick with Roki Sasaki going to the West Coast players are involved but Spencer Horwitz not staying in Cleveland for long somebody look I don’t I don’t get it when you say something positive dumb asses on Twitter don’t get it when the deal went down all I said was now essentially a paraphrasing paraphrasing myself because I don’t remember exactly what I said all I said was Cleveland now could keep Josh Naylor because of the money that they unload with Jimenez leaving and I get guys talking about how uh the first base this like they like like that can’t happen no they’re still going to trade them all all this other stuff and and I’m just like do the back get Walker hope one stays um my conversation was about money not position and Horowitz could maybe Naylor dh’s Horowitz would have been first base Horwitz would have been second base I know Horowitz isn’t a second basement but he did it and all these other things and at the end of the day that wasn’t the point the point was the money that went off the books but and have been a stupid argument on Twitter about first baseman for Cleveland and all I said was nailor now Cleveland could resign him all that talk about trading him before I feel like I could see them getting a deal done to extend him because they just give him the money that they had budgeted for Jimenez what’s what’s so wrong about that line of thought um but we are going to have it looks like Horwitz on the Move we only know one piece it is a number the number 17 Prospect in the Pittsburgh system a pitcher more pieces are supposed to be involved we’ll keep an eye and see uh we’ll see who it is we’ll see what’s going to Pittsburgh what’s going to Cleveland I like it for Pittsburgh though Horowitz is a really good bat so here’s this let’s move on from let’s move on from this and let’s go to Yankees and Christian Walker talk so Jack Curry today again I said it a few minutes ago Jack Curry is like he’s he’s one of the guiding lights through this off seon of insanity uh because in one foul swoop he shoots down the whole Nolan aado thing which I did not see anyway and he also uh as far as where’s where is it I have as far as bregman goes Jack Curry the Yankees aren’t exactly sure that Alex bregman’s swing plays in Yankee Stadium he doesn’t see them having a ton of interest in bregman so killing the talk about AR ronado killing the talk about bregman let’s just get straight to the point and that point is Christian Walker it’s the move not Pete Alonzo it’s Christian Walker that defense plays his Bat plays he’s not going to take as many years as Alonzo Christian Walker’s the guy and I’ve been saying it now for since they lost the stto sweep Stakes the move for the Yankees is to go and get Christian Walker Hass Kim and I’m blanking on the other guy’s name I’ve said it like 500 times on Gio orella that Gio orella doesn’t sound exciting but Gio orella would give you very good defense at third base hang Kim is an elite Defender Jazz Chisum can move to center field Chris sh Walker’s your first baseman you have one of the best defensive infields in the American League maybe even all of Base ball if you put that group together and the Yankees took a lot of [ __ ] for the way they play the game and the Dodgers were all about just forcing them into mistakes well how about the Yankees go out and get some guys that limit the mistakes Walker Kim or shella don’t screw around with bregman don’t take on our Ronaldo’s contract don’t don’t mess around with any of that stuff the answers are there now Aron a to the Dodgers that’s a whole different thing Yankees it’s not sources the Guardians are getting hardle Luis Ortiz and Michael Kennedy from the Pirates in the horo it’s deal one thing we know is that interesting post by Dan Bartles on Mets targets okay uh Ed I will take a look at that but first I want to look at something else um let’s look at the Pirates top prospects now look if the Pirates are really going to make some hay look You’ got Bubba Chandler braxon Ashcraft Thomas Harrington on top of who you already have there there’s a splash to be had I like what they’re doing there’s one of them there’s another one number 15 and number 17 in the Pittsburgh organization are head headed over uh who else and Luis Ortiz Luis Ortiz is it’s the Lis Ortiz that’s already up right l l Ortiz posted gotam sending Ortiz I’m depressed all right so the number F really this package for for Horowitz is going to be highlighted Michael Kennedy and Josh hardle [Music] decent year last year for Kennedy Pittsburg has a lot of really good pitching in their farm system and then a third round pick the third round guy from this last year Kennedy it’s a good trade good pitching headed to Cleveland and for Pittsburgh actually I I’m I’m I’m I’m I think this is a great this is a great situation I think this is a great situation for Spencer Horwitz I do good for Spencer Horwitz to go to that Pittsburgh situation now they’ll never pay you but they don’t need to pay you for several years five by my count all that time that Jimenez is taking like 20 to$ 23 million from the Blue Jays Spencer horwood still going to be in arbitration anyway so good job they turned essentially Sandlin and Jimenez that Jimenez contract into two decent pitching prospects at the end of the day Kennedy gets a 45 out of 80 grade and hardle also a 45 out of 80 grade good stuff so Rangers let’s dig into Corbin Burns shall we let’s dig into Corbin Burns oh wait no no no no before we do that where did this super czecho oh no don’t tell me we lost it I didn’t lose it did the board Burns is the guy now and everything we are hearing and it’s from places that some stuff you’ll trust some stuff you won’t Mike Rodriguez is the main guy I’ll show you what I’m talking about in a minute but Susan slusser this is a big one guys if you don’t know who Susan slusser is she is a San Francisco Chronicle senior beat reporter she’s a big dog here Buster saying today the Giants would perfectly be happy with the group they have and then raving about saki she’s putting the tea leaves together feeling like that burns is probably moving out of the s Francisco Giants price range and we know the Toronto Blue Jays are probably feeling some desperation right now so the Jays may be pulling away and Boston has said we’re going to spend money makes you think that there are two teams that are starting to tip the desperate scale and drive the price up Giants they brought in Willie Adamas they’ve got web and Ray at the top and Hicks and some pieces I still think the Giants should add another one Buster maybe bluffing here by saying he’d be happy with the group they have happy with the group they have is different from we feel like we can compete and make a run in the west with the group we have I got to think those would be two completely different things so we have this from Susan sler maybe giving us some insight as to what is happening with giants now it was Mike Rodriguez that brought us to a place where and Mike Rodriguez an MLB Insider former analis with the Cubs uh Mike Rodriguez gave us this might have been it oh that come from fineand I saw it from Rodriguez somebody sent it to me ban ban sent it to me that came from fineand even better that the Blue Jays and the Giants appear to be leading the race for Corbin Burns and Susan slusser is feeling like it maybe the Giants are going to be looking in another Direction this move would be a huge get for the Toronto Blue Jays I still want them to prioritize hitting the Orioles last year I think we would all agree had a better lineup than the Toronto Blue Jays did and Corbin Burns was pitching for the orals they made the playoffs great but they didn’t even win a game the Toronto Blue Jays with a inferior lineup when compared to the Orioles okay great we’re going to bring Corbin burns on board we’ll have Burns we’ll have gsman we’ll have Basset for another year we’ll have BOS we will put together a pitching rotation that can win the World Series there’s a team in the Northwest that has heard that about their starting rotation all for the last 12 to 24 months and it hasn’t done much for him you got to have the bats this is exciting I I I would if the if the Jays are the team that land Corbin Burns I will be excited I will be elated I will be through the roof I this it’ll be a Happy Days stream but I tell tell you what if they land Anthony santon there I might actually be happier because that is an area of the team that I want addressed more so than an ace at the top of the rotation it would be a great addition I would again excitement level at a 100 but I want to see the bat what do we got hold on somebody say Suzuki to the Dodgers if Tao leaves yes no I don’t think those two things uh oh wait oh seya Suzuki um I don’t think so the conto deal deals don’t sign Alonso then most likely VL Jr will be a met next year Arnold there you go people listening you you heard it here first I I don’t know no it’s been a thing for a while I even I speculated a trade uh I did a mock trade for vlat to the Mets a couple weeks ago but I mean anybody with uh W with anybody with a brain can put that together that that’s kind of the way that it feels like that’s going to go um why wouldn’t it why wouldn’t it if you are the Toronto Blue Jays you miss your opportunity to extend vlat vlat is not going to sign in extension now he knows he’s not going to get to 800 million but he also knows he can probably get more in the open market than he can if he signs an extension with the Blue Jays so blue jays offer from 400 like if you’re the if you’re the Blue Jays it’s actually we we have now crossed the line where it’s probably better to not offer him an extension don’t offer him an extension because if you do you all you’re doing is setting the floor that’s what the SoDo deal the sto offer by the gats those years ago it sort of set the bar it’s going to be way above whatever this number is so if Toronto goes and offers him $400 million for 13 years or 14 years that all that does is it sets the bar for the off season if he goes out there and has a monster year well now it’s $500 million for 14 years that’s all that does So you you’re almost now if you’re the Blue Jays front office you have to consider not doing it at all because it could hurt you as as it is you missed your chance and you go into the open market with the New York Mets team that will be continually motivated to add and Surround Juan soda with more Superstar Talent it just it’s a it’s it’s the way I mean you can see it you can see it now I don’t need to tell it to you I know you guys can see it uh Harrison who would I want from the Mets again there will be they’re just not going to do you think Boston is at all inclined to lose the Corbin Burns sweep Stakes to the Red Sox now the Blue Jays are feeling the same thing they just lost the stto sweep Stakes to the Yankees do you think they’re inclined to lose the burn sweep Stakes to the Red Sox so this could get fascinating if we end up seeing Boston get in the game here and uh become that second team we had been hearing from Mark finson Mike Rodriguez and others that uh the Blue Jays and Giants were viewed uh as the as the two strongest and maybe the Giants are pulling back as to some of the feeling that Susan sler is getting does that mean that there’s an opening for somebody if that’s the case let’s get this blue jays deal done if that’s the case then if you’re Boston There’s an opportunity for you to jump in the top hearing Rangers THS the top five free agents Burns is arguably the last one if you had now if you had Anthony sere in the top five uh more power to you he was not a top five the top five free agents are now off the board I will get to that fre that Super Chat just a second Burns is still there but Snell and freed Willie adamus is I guess you know what let me let me take that back do do do do you view bregman do you view Alonzo Christian Walker I would think one or maybe a couple of those names would be in many of yours uh top fives maybe sond there would be you know at that five spot so there’s still a little bit of room but Corbin Birds is now the prized piece and there’s a lot of fan bases that want them so all right let me close that out of the way why is everything Red Soxs all of these when I look at Corbin Burns it’s all Red Sox related stuff Red Sox has been the Red Sox fan base has been strong on Twitter over the last couple of weeks again slusser with that information that’s really one of the things we can sort of take to the not take to the bank but when we’re looking for trusted sources and and their opinions and their uh and their feelings on the matter if Susan sler suspects Burns is moving out of their price range that’s a strong statement gets it back to where it’s it could it could be blue jays against Red Sox and who wins all right let’s get to the one thing that I I do have some thoughts on here uh some feelings about San Diego where did this come from today oh Wonder don’t want latest let’s go here I do not believe there is a chance in hell that that the San Diego Padres would trade Dylan CE I know AJ PR is fantastic at wheeling and dealing and all of that is Dylan CE going to bring you back two rotation pieces because that’s kind of when you think about the San Diego situation they’re facing a challenging 2025 as far as that rotation is concerned and that’s with Dylan CE right now with with no Joe Musgrove You’ve Got King CE and darish one two three and then question marks flood the rest of the rotation Randy Vasquez Matt Waldren who else are we going to try in here um MLB Marathon I don’t know what did they say JJ uh you’ve got Johnny Brito there’s not even depth like you don’t go into spring training with your rotation set that’s basically what they’re looking at and you can’t do that you’ve got to have you go into spring training uh to get five you want to go into spring training with like seven or eight possibilities and they’re going to go in to get five with six possibilities and then they’re going to trade they’re going to trade Dylan CE and what again unless you’re getting two starters back all it would do all trading Dylan CE would do would turn their rotation into Michael King you darish and a bunch of question marks I cannot see a world in which Dylan ceas is trade it now it was brought up uh before I I think was it before the playoffs were even over or as soon as the postseason came to an end it was brought up the whole idea that and this was by a a San Diego radio talk show uh Ben and Ben and Hobs I I’m for I’m blanking on the name but they threw out the idea of a should should the Padre’s trade Dylan cease and I ran with it I I put a out and talked about it and the whole thing was was at the end no you don’t and you can’t if Boston is trading for Dylan CE because that’s a lot of where we where we got to today was we got Dylan CE and Boston oh I’m gonna read what D SL says um maybe Baltimore maybe maybe Atlanta other teams that were trying to acquire Dylan CE a year ago get back in are they going to give the S again you you got to you you you you have to address your rotation and you would be trading him and I’m pretty certain you would not get rotation pieces to help you right now you would get prospects and if you do get a starter it’s probably going to be a mid to backend starter it will be a downgrade because it would be that starter plus other stuff this San Diego team when you when you think about the other stuff they’re looking for guys the bullpen is kind of set you can always add more pitching I get that but the bullpen feel like you can piece it together with this group when you look at their lineup arise and tatis and Merill and Machado and konorth and Barts yes they have to figure out a left field situation they can grab a DH for cheap guys being scored we should talk about what Walker has done in the last three years Christian Walker is maybe the best defensive first baseman in the National League maybe all the baseball he’s Elite defensively that’s also why I’m thinking Hassan Kim makes sense and Gio orella run prevention go get him 95 home runs he will be 34 years old in Mar I like the potential of adding him because it’s not going to be a five or six year deal you probably get him on a two or threee deal all right now let’s flip to the other side of the diamond because Jack I know you’ve talked to a lot of Yankees officials about a lot of names one of the names that’s out there is Nolan arado with the Cardinals does have a full no trade I saw I saw he would be willing to go to the Yankees but MLB Scoops had a comment about uh the Braves being a potential for sha manah I see that I I definitely could see the Braves going after sha manah I think they want to grab another starting pitcher whether it’s in the trade market or the free agent market and manah Fitz would be really fascinating to see him go from the Mets to the Braves now is he beloved by Mets fans yes but does he have a long track record with them no so I could see it happening a given the fact that he has three years and a lot of money left on his deal he’s got $74 million left on his deal he had a down year last year you’re seeing that right there 16 homers 719 Ops and talking to Yankee officials about Aon the answer that I was given was they have a lot of respect for the player that he has been and the player that he still is but now at this moment not a fit it is not somebody that they are out there seeking I think at that price tag and at who he was last year the Yankees absolutely believe they there are better options and then you look at last year was it just blip in the radar AR with what they’ve Boston yes Philadelphia yes I don’t see them having a ton of interest in bregman and I just want to his swing plays for it
