got bullied tonight in Utah by a three- win team before you knew it they found themselves down by 19 points and it was an uphill battle all night now the dog had it going and campaign had it going but they can’t cover everybody so at the end of the day the Knicks would climb back from the 19-point lead find themselves down by two and before you know it they backed down by a double digits by a 34o fourth quarter by the Utah Jazz man 121 106 Utah Jazz send the Knicks packing and soul searching what are they searching for their defense because it’s nonexistent the Knicks defense is wful man can’t stop anybody I mean what do you start the funny thing is is that like we spoke about this just yesterday all of the woses that we spoke about with this Nicks team on yesterday’s show reared its ugly head in today’s game yes just one game one loss but it’s a maddening loss it’s one thing to lose to an over 500 team a good team period right we don’t got a wax poetic it’s one thing to lose to a good team it’s one thing to get it’s another thing to get bummed out on a bum night you know in a bum night games I’m not expecting the Knicks to be the bums but they can’t stop anybody you start the game off you got John Collins out there looking like Charles Barkley That’s when I knew I said oh boy we in for a long night you got this guy bullying everybody around shooting jumpers left right and center it’s going to be a long night on top of the fact that shots wasn’t falling tonight a lot of good looks you know Nicks did move the ball around they did get some good ball movement going a lot of the shots that they would knock down they couldn’t hit Brunson and towns combined for 14 of 38 three of 18 from downtown maau Bridges I don’t know what he was doing tonight getting cro cooked on both ends of the floor three of 15 from the field one a seven from downtown it was a brutal shooting night for the Knicks all in all but see their shooting woes can be overcome if you can tighten up defensively but you you you let him you let him score 38 points in the second quarter 34 points in the fourth Nick’s probably the worst fourth quarter team in the league right now and that compounds the issue you you can’t get over these Knights because you can’t stop them and you can’t shoot Jaz shoot 50% from the field 55% from downtown 55% from downtown it’s a mading loss it’s one loss but this one gets on your nerves man how could it not it’s a bad loss man they’re down by 19 and jump into the third quarter and thank God for campaign for a tone and sending a message to his team to tighten up and they go on a run Cam and OG start going in on the third quarter and how did they do it with their defense what do you know they got it done with their defense in the passing Lanes getting steals getting physical next thing you know they cut the lead down at two and before you know it they go into the fourth quarter down by nine and it grows and it grows and it grows couldn’t stop anybody man I also thought you know I I I thought the Knicks got uh the Jazz front Court dominated tonight Markin in 349 Kesler 1110 three blocks y’all thought you was getting Walker Kessler for for what three second round picks you dealing with Danny a out there be for real and then on top of that you had John Collins 20 and 13 I thought especially when they had the Kesler marketing front Court in the fourth I felt like the Knicks got overpow a little bit and if you’re goingon to run you know a lot of you guys wanted Sims in there but my thing is if you’re ultimately going to run the Twin Tower set when Mitch comes back you might as well get some practice in now you know what I’m saying like you might as well get a couple of looks in with a towns and Sims combo see where that gets you something man I don’t know but like the defense is just bad you know towns is a culprit and and like it it’s so weird because on one hand like Town’s ferocity on the on the boards was much needed 16 boards eight of it on the offensive side he was great there especially getting the Nick Second Chance opportunities when they were bricking away but he can’t stop anything that comes into the paint I mean he had one possession late in that fourth or mid fourth where you know it was it was a combination of like it was like Town’s heart Payne kic and I forgot who the third Nick was but they got into the the Jazz had him in a scramble and the the defense broke down the communication broke down you had campaign trying to cover Walker Kessler in the paint like they just they just got 22nd right now last year they were 10th he had a possession late in late in the in the fourth quarter or it was either third or fourth you got Brunton and bridges running down Court both collapsing on really have respectable slashers and respectable athleticism M it looks hot when your big man is doing it but that’s going against the conventional wisdom like that’s not that’s not what you want I agree hopefully we can bounce back I mean the defense has been a main issue but I mean also I was thinking the game Monday against uh Denver that’s going to be you know um Cat’s real first test I guess you want to say embiid was but he’s coming back from injury but it’s going to be interesting to see how he goes up against jic for the first time um as a niick so we’ll see yeah it it is gonna you need to have is uh discipline yeah like uh when to drive when to suit when to pass keeping everything in control that’s a very important part of offense but guess what needs even 10 times more discipline that’s defense but playing defense you need even 10 times more discipline and the thing is that uh and and I think everyone knows that cat uh one of the weakness that cat has is uh the discipline while playing basketball even while he was in Minnesota I would see he would be chucking threes at the wrong time and that and uh actually three days ago three games ago I saw a stat that soed opponents were shooting like about 91 % at in the paint while cat was defending them so uh and the thing is why the defense is so bad because we already have the same lineup from PR previous year like Brunson Hart and OG okay we had dvo but uh we Mel might be bad this year but there’s not that much difference between D’s defense and M’s defense but the only thing that’s creating this much difference in the def in the ability of Defense of our team is the center person and as someone who plays point for my college I can tell you it’s nothing more reassuring to see the opponent has a bad Center defensively so that has I I don’t know what to do what to do about that what tis will plan in future but seeing how cabs are being successful with a traditional center with Jared Allen and a power forward like EV mob even though they are not shooting threes they are doing very good so chips has to do something with that planed with Mitchell and hopefully that works out but cat has to get better and if one thing I can say m can do I think he has to hit the legs room very hard in this Allstar break he is definitely not sliding his F hit the Bulgarian split squats heavy hit the squads heavy try hit the leg curs and H CS until you cry and I think that’s what will make you can make him good at defense dis Point otherwise and the fourth quarter collapse is basically similar to what was happening to since last year when they made the super team but they were collapsing in fourth quarter so hopefully that they would try to work out instead of uh going through whole season so
