his birthday that’s what I can say of course we’re looking for the Charisma of Ruben Emer of course we’ve been covering ericon H’s boring press conference over one year two years Mark we’ve been sitting there like oh my God hubba habba like you know and then of course we have Simon Stone coming Eric how do you feel about Cristiano Ronaldo talking [ __ ] okay so this is a new era you know this is going to be a new tone tone of press conference what I’m looking forward to and 100% uh the jigsaw puzzle what we talking about who is going to fit wear in his 343 system who’s going to play who’s fit who’s that and you know I just want to hear him speak mate I feel like there’s going to be a lot of butt kissing happening today the Press seemed to be en armored with Ruben amarim so I think it’s probably going to be asked five key questions from my perspective I think he’s going to be asked you know what does he think of you know the team so far in training what does he expect from them this weekend you know who is going to be key for him in his team out of the players that he’s going to pick in his starting 11 maybe watch’s his starting 11 what are your thoughts on the questions he’s going to ask well you said ask kissing a lot of ask kiss did you you reckon at the end of the day they went you know they have brown lips of course it’s the Press you know how they do it at the player in the squad already he feels like he’s part we’ve seen the training videos he’s he’s actively involved in the training giving them instructions running in running in that we saw how he’s doing defensive work with Johnny Evans and everyone pushing and shoving and just adamant to get his message across now big up for people that’s tuning in we have double gamers are you down doing the conference yes uh double Gamers we are doing the press conference live which is about to start in about what six minutes I reckon depends eight give or take eight give or take eight minutes it should be on time you know what I mean it’s going to be the first press conference I think they would be well prepared he’s a guy that seems to me very meticulous from his from what he says and how he says what he says so I think they will start on time because you want to create that impression of efficiency you know that kind of saying you know what is the the chat room saying who’s in the house we have Stephanie Griffin I see here also but will is saying that your story about transfer bands is not true you know will what I would say to you will is that wait and see because you never know he because they mean they will get to play at Man City ground you know they would offer some of their players some scouting potential these things might be good you never know they have to pay some dues because they went against the Premier League and they should not have done that yeah listen it’s going to be very interesting big up Y and me uh big up to all the moderators in here moderating the the overall overhaul cycle like you know they finally got the head coach manager in what they really wanted meaning he’s just going to be managing the squad or training the squad and they decide the who some of them might not been fan favorites of late they know performances might not have been great have some who have been injury prone and might be making their way back I think it’s up to the manager whoever he chooses I think some players might be sold it might not be the players we expect you know I I kind of have a a shocking feeling that it might be some of the senior players that go in January you know because am might say you know what I want to build for the future and I rather die by that sword so I feel like certain players who’ve been here for five plus seasons will be gone in j possibly summer so I wouldn’t look at some other players because you know the way I look at this team there are some players who didn’t have a good chance or you know that there are lot a lot of heavy situations that happened last season that may have you know took away from them being able to perform at their best at the start of this season so I would say give it some time let’s see until the end of the season but definitely there are a few players that should be moved on yeah 100% we we we know that um I mean obviously he’s here like in everyone seems to be impressed by the reports coming out in the media the way he’s training but also there was some report by the sun take it when the sun don’t shine you know what I mean that he was shocked about the the level of uh abilities not being coached properly there might be some truth in that because they’ve been lazy bastards right or I don’t know man I think you can get a tune out of this but at the end of the day like we’re the press conference for our Premier League game against iown on Sunday and Welcome to our new head coach ribon Amar first section is in barod until 2m Reuben welcome to Manchester you have had a perception of the club before joining how does the reality differ is it better than you even had imagined yeah it’s bigger there’s a lot of departments it’s so much different than than sporting and sporting is a is a big Club but in Portugal this is you feel that is a global Club so you have so much to do it’s not just coaching the team uh but I have I I have a lot of help um a lot of meetings so I’m improving in in that areas but I I feel very happy very comfortable so I feel at home Ruben you’re the sixth permanent manager of Manchester United since the club last won the Premier League title you the belief that you can be the one to restore the club to that level I’m a little bit a dreamer and I believe in myself uh I also believe in the club uh I think we have the same idea the same mindset so um that could can can help um but I I I I I truly believe in the players also I know that you guys don’t believe a lot in these players but a lot I think we we have room to improve and um I want to try new things so um you you guys think it’s not possible I think it’s possible we will see in the end um what are your first impressions in these early days of of your squad in training and how much time do you think you’re going to need realistically to repair United good question I don’t know about repair uh but like I said we have um space to to grow as a team I think we have to improve in a lot of areas uh the understanding of the game I know it’s a different a different way of playing uh and we are changing in the middle of uh of the season I think we have to improve the physical aspect of the team yeah something that we want to improve um and that’s it uh so I don’t know how how how long it will take uh I know that you when you are in Manchester United you have to win games so I will not tell you uh that I need a lot of time uh of course we need a lot of time because um it’s it’s it’s a great League it’s a strong stronger the strongest league in in the world uh I Ag and we have to improve a lot um to try to win it so what what can I say is that we have to win games to win time and then to win titles whoa he’s speaking my language Mark you’ve obviously got belief in your players and there’s a lot been spoken about this system but is it going to be a case of evolution or revolution it’s not Revolution because the football is not so different with the five players in the back three players in the back four players in the back um I cannot say Evolution because we have to wait uh and see but we will play a different type of football we have our ideas I’m not saying is is the best ideas but is our way a way of of seeing football so um is not Evolution or revolution is a change in the way we play football love that question you came here six and a half years ago and met Jose Mourinho during that internship what are your memories of that and have you spoken to Jose since you took the job here uh he sent me a message uh he told me that he’s a lovely Club big club with lovely people and that is correct he still is um but a lot of things change we are in a different building now uh we are building um we are building a new one um I’m a different guy I was learning at the time and I I hope to teach something here to to my players uh um but the club is still big uh he he still is the the best the best club in in England um and we want to win again that’s all y good Ruben solution maner looks for quick wins quick games when they turn up at a club where did you see those coming from Manchester United what have you seen here that you think you can make an impact shy to Y with in simple things I I think uh if you want to to speak about the team the way we play uh I think we lose the ball too often and we have to keep to keep the ball true we have to be better on running back I think that is clear for everybody um and we have to be be very good in the details sometimes we are hoping to to change a lot of things big things I think it’s the small things and we have to improve on that that small things the way we see football play as as a team understanding the game in one way that is the focus so I can tell you in the small things I think I can help a lot these players Small Things Mark small things I’m old enough to have been at Jose marone’s first press conference in 2004 when he joined Chelsea did you recall that yourself and obviously you’re a young man then what did you make of it and also asked about him already but what what was the most significant influence he’s had on you as a manager first thing not just in me but all all the Portuguese coaches it shows that we can be the the best in the world uh and this is something different in the small country this uh can can can put a stamp on everybody uh um but I’m different from Mourinho I I I’m I’m a different different person but I remember that time in that time you you look at Mourinho and you felt that he can win everywhere uh it’s not the the same thing you you he was um European Champion I’m not European Champion you will a different guy in the different moment football nowadays is different and I think I I am I’m a the the right person for this moment uh I think because I’m a young guy I understand the players so I try to use that uh to help my players like Mourinho in that area did in in Chelsea uh if you if you remember the young guys was were like Lampard and these kind of players nowadays is so much different so I think I’m the right guy for this moment the right guy for this moment Mark that’s a big statement recruitment at Manchester United in the last decade has been quite mixed to said the least it’s been very much like that do you expect to have an an influence on the players that come into this football club or will be left to other departments I think it has to be all together because if you are also if you are a coach that coming here and already chose the the players it could be wrong because this is a football club that will be here for a long time and you as a coach you don’t know that so you have to to to work um everybody together and for that we have to improve the process of recruitment uh uh the data the profile of the place that we want but I have to to to to to to have a a strong position on that because I’m the coach I know how how to play so I think he’s all together but in in the final word as you can say it should be the manager not just because it’s your right but it is your responsibility because in the end the results they will ask you about the results is um is to me so I think is all together improve the process of the recruitment I have to understand the the the leak that is important um and then when everything is align all the ideas everybody’s on the same page we can buy and sell players that Sor follow has that been agreed then that you you have the final sign off on the I’m seeing here the final I I don’t it’s not the final the final but I have a great responsibility when when we choose players because this is something that should be um done in this way I’m the manager the head coach so I had to to choose the players yeah 100% I agree with that United has been described C certainly in the last 10 or 12 years as the impossible job given the caliber of managers that come before you of Louis vanal and Jose um what’s your perception of that view and and what do you see is your biggest challenge here I really don’t know the biggest challenge I will find out uh during this this this this months uh um you had here different type of players uh coaches so the the guys that won everything like vanal and and Mourinho you you have new ones like they knew the the club inside out like s then you have one of the best that there well ever be in the outside the five strongest Le leagues was tag so um I don’t know I think we have to improve as a club we have to acknowledge that we are in the time that we need time and we every every coach that comes here needs time um but acknowledge also that we have to win games and that’s it so I I don’t have answers for that you have different type of coaches the same result we will try to do our our way ino’s way and my way and um try to win it but is not the impossible job no of course not I believe that uh call me naive uh but I I truly believe that I’m I’m the right guy in the in the right moment I could be wrong uh but the Earth still will turn the sun will rise again it doesn’t matter so I’m not worry about that I still I’m truly believe that I’m the right guy for this job yeah you just said earlier that you believe in these players maybe some people here do not but didn’t these players get 10 hard the sack isn’t that the reason he not no long at the club because the team was down in 13 to 14th they couldn’t win they couldn’t play they couldn’t keep holding the ball like you sort of just said then so how can you believe him players he basically have failed so badly for the last gentleman it’s it’s a belief like the word you have to believe and we I believe in them because when I when I start this this week you can say that is one week three trainings they Chang the coach of course everybody is excited but they are open to a different different things is the only thing that I I ask hard work and you have to believe in the new idea and I felt that so until they prove me wrong I believe in the place uh Neil um is the average um sort of length for a manager here over the last since Sir Alex has been about two and a half years um is is that long enough to really stamp your Authority on a club and really get to where you want to be because Eric kept saying you know he’s brought young players through and he kept saying have patience you know like G afteru it’s two and a half years long enough you got to need more than that I have two years and and a half of of contract and you guys talk about about that I think two years you can understand if I’m the right manager to to go in this process I I think um we will need more time uh because if you look to the other clubs um that are winning winning the this league they are doing this process for a long time but they are they are winning that’s why they have time to to do the this this this this this project so I understand that we will need more than two and a half years we have to win something somewhere um but in two years you can understand if you want to continue in this path or you have to change so uh we will see how all wow big words sorry I don’t might take time Reuben but um players playing in different positions potentially uh Garo potential Wing back on number 10 rashford up top I think we saw in the footage what have you made of the players and do you think these players are open so playing in different positions in your system big up Deo I think they want to play this is in in this first moment they just want to play so it’s easy um in the future we will see I have to understand you can watch on TV but you have to train with them to understand if he can cope with different positions so we are in that phase everybody wants to play now if they have the opportunity of play in the as a goalkeeper they will play in the moment in the future we will see but they are open to to change some some positions lot that one of your big qualities is the relationship that you have with them you’ve already said told us that you’ve got belief in these players but do you sense maybe the players lost belief in themselves a little bit given what’s happened at the start of the Season that that’s for sure but this is normal in in every team when you don’t win Games you start um you start to be susic susic of of the of the the way of playing um I cannot control the ball with with pressure so these small things you start feeling in in the in the players you can understand all almost when they walk to the to the game or to the warm-up you can feel it if they are confident or not so that is a normal thing uh so I I think I I have to to help them to feel that it will take time but they are ready to cope with the demands of the games in in Premier League because they they Pro that uh and you can see even this this year in last year sometimes they have a a bad first half and then in the second half without any change tactical change they will turn up and change things so they have to find out that that mindset to play this way through all the the game last question in this section Andy hi Ruby initially is it possible to ask this group of players to play your style of football your formation or do you perhaps need to pick football a philosophy that suits the players you already have here no yeah as as a coach you have to choose one way or another I choose always 100% our way I prefer to risk a little bit but to push in the first moment if they feel that in in since First first day I believe so much in our way of playing they will believe too so there is no second outs no second way it’s one way we are going to do it we will adapt some players because you have the the right profile this team was built for a different system but like I I told you guys already it’s the same thing playing with five or four the principles are the same the positioning is a little bit different but maybe on Sunday you will see the the the list of players the starting 11 you don’t feel a lot of change but you will feel it in the game during the the positioning the way they they receive the ball or to cover the ball we will see see some changes it and is fact what he said and is exactly what we need to do be patient tone ourselves down and give them time because they’re going to need time 2.5 seasons is not enough to get a team to winning 2.5 season but the thing is Big up we have over 800 people watching live at the moment and we even have Sporting Lisbon fan tuning in for this press conference big up jgo smash like guys subscribe press conference in full English I am baffled like you know we’ve been sitting here covering like you know ten Haag we’ve been covering Allon Sola everything and this in one 15 minute session we got so much information from a very Dynamic manager he said it’s the simple things right these players are football players the professional football players they used to play in different systems it’s just minor tweaks minor things and in and in the process we saw the training video in the first was released on Tuesday how he was involved giving them straight directions stepping back on the sideline analyzing getting back in the game hopefully it will work I mean he said one thing I’m the right person for this moment we had six different managers but at this moment I feel I’m the right man so everyone tried to ride this bull this mment of a club called Manchester United the pressure is on every manager tried and fail now I really hope this person has the Charisma has the Lion Heart which we seen at sport in Lisbon he came in from Braga won them two titles in short time of space I mean come on are we talking about two and a half years I mean obviously they got the man and we got to back the man guys we got to back the man pick up Jim Watkins well for Emme min’s business I love his inside of his the way the highway his way of the highway Mark Mark um I don’t know there’s so much things to unpack in this this intervie what is your take what is your take what do you take out of this interview I I I just want I just can’t wait for the for the sh window on the summer to be fair like just listening to what he’s saying I know is a I thinking is a is a message to the players like yo especially when they ask him about about him trusting the players I mean ericon hack said the same thing he said you know until they prove him wrong he will he will you know back them he will back them and the biggest thing is that for me is that basically he he’s going he’s saying the same things but I think he will be able to remove the players much quicker because this is the manager that the structure wants it seems like the manager that wants to win and again he’s backing his
