welcome back everyone my name is Patrick you’re watching the Oilers rundown coming to you for a second time today earlier this morning got you ready for well I guess it was early afternoon got you ready for tonight’s game against the New York Rangers Darnell nurse returns to the lineup Evan buard 5050 for tonight’s game so hopefully the Oilers can come out with a big win tonight they got a 5-day break here coming up following tonight’s hockey game but another new story I want to talk with you guys about I mentioned it a little bit in my earlier video but it’s a story I’ve been following since this morning David EK of the Columbus Blue Jackets has been out there as a potential trade Target for the Edmonton Oilers and according to a few sources the Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators are the two leading candidates as of now to land David Ur from the Columbus Blue Jackets he’s a young right shot defenseman about to turn 21 he was a first round pick has not been able to get into the lineup with the Columbus Blue Jackets for whatever reason former GM Mio kealan was the one that drafted him it really sounds like current Columbus GM Don woodell is getting ready to make a move he said in an article today with RG media that he’s been making calls seeing who wants them and right now it’s being reported that Edmonton and Nashville are the leading candidates NHL writer Jim buringer with full press NHL RG media NH h l rumors.com the voice of full press hockey has been the leading Source on this story on David Ur possibly coming to Edmonton or Nashville right now we know the Edmonton Oilers are pretty weak in the prospect pool for draft Capital don’t have their first round pick I believe the Philadelphia Flyers have the option or the Oilers have the option either way of it’s either this year’s first round pick or next year’s first round pick going to the Flyers but either way the Oilers do not have as much trade Capital as the Nashville Predators do they have multiple first round picks multiple prospects to move out so when it comes to a uh trade battle war between emont and Nashville unfortunately right now the Nashville Predators would probably win this one but if the Oilers can find a package that the Columbus Blue Jackets like better David Urich could be coming to the Evon Oilers as I mentioned earlier in a video possibly something like a Philip robberg replacement it’s another former first round pick another young guy about to turn 21 for the Edmonton Oilers that they can add to the right side we mentioned earlier that maybe David Ur isn’t probably the best fit just because he’s not a veteran guy the Oilers looking for help on the blue line but is it veteran help that they really need more than David Urich is David Urich really going to be the guy that makes the difference in the Stanley Cup Playoffs but at the same time we saw Philip Rober getting his really first great chance with the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup playoffs last year and Philip ber came in and had a huge impact was one of the Oilers best defenseman in the playoffs so maybe we get a similar kind of surprise with David yoch if he does indeed become an Emon Oiler this year let’s take a look at some of his stats in the AHL and NHL over the past three seasons in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets he’s appeared in a total of 53 games has one goal 10 assists 11 points and is overall a minus 10 but not a huge sample size for this player his biggest opportunity obviously coming in 2023 2024 where he appeared in the 43 games didn’t produce a lot but not really sure where he was playing in the lineup whether it was third pairing or not and we know the Columbus Blue Jackets picked up Dante Fabro uh was a week ago two weeks ago off waivers and he’s been playing in columbus’ top pairing and pushed David Ur even further out of the lineup so this appears to be a guy on his way out of town when we take a look at the AHL stats though over the past last two seasons with the Cleveland monsters he’s appeared in 84 games picked up 13 goals 44 assists 57 points overall he’s a minus 27 in the 2024 cder Cup playoffs he appeared in 14 games picked up three goals eight assists for 11 points and was a plus three so this is a guy that’s been too good for the AHL but hasn’t been able to stay in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets like I said for whatever reason he’s a first round pick 2022 number six overall so this guy has a ton of pedigree I think he would probably be a pretty solid pickup here for the Edmonton Oilers if they can find a way to get them maybe there could even be something where we know the Oilers are also interested in Ivan Prov off got the Oilers put together a bigger package deal that included both Prov off and Euro that would be a massive boost to the Oilers right side we know proov can play either side so maybe proov ands up in the third pairing or I don’t know how it all work but definitely something that could be of interest here to the Edmonton Oilers and I think they would get oil country really excited if the Oilers could find a way to put together a package that included both Ivan proov and David Ur giving the Oilers something for today and also for tomorrow let’s see what happens here guys nothing guaranteed like I said if Edmonton and Nashville are indeed the two leading candidates for eoch the Nashville Predators can put together the better package so let’s see what happens here but I just thought I’d share this latest information with you guys and the Oilers have that 5-day break
