[Music] hi welcome back to United TV we’re going to be looking at Ruben amon’s first press conference as Manchester United head coach and also know the fact he’s called head coach instead of manager is like another change we can discuss but I’m joined by Owen we’re going to be putting out a lot of Manchester United positivity so it might not be for everybody if a bit of a negative fan you might not enjoy it if you are a positive Manchester United fan then make sure you subscribe and like this video because we’re definitely going to be putting out a lot of positive Manchester United content over the next few weeks and hopefully results will will match our positivity because it’s going to be an interesting Journey Manchester United’s on WE we’ve got a lot of changes to look forward to a lot of players coming through different formations different tactics we’re going to see an idea which might be the first time we’ve seen an idea for for a couple of years um I would suggest but we’ve seen some bad ideas put it that way um what are your thoughts initially I just say like hi United vers everybody Jules B thanks for getting in early guys what’s your initial thoughts Owen I know I’ve said this in the past you’re probably one of the most positive Manchester United fans I’ve met on podcast and you’re trying to like temper it I know but what what you what do you think yeah no I’m I’m I’m you know when I first when T har first came in last time um you know I imagine like sort of phrases like the treble might have been banded around by some people I don’t know who they were quadruple potentially um but I don’t think I’ll be doing that a bit crazy yeah a little bit a little bit well especially when Ronaldo came into fair that was on the Sol but like yeah I’m I’m a little bit more sort of guarded a little bit more like laidback about this one I think um I’m optimistic 100% I’ll always be optimistic I think he’s come in and he’s obviously saying the right things now like managers always do when they come in but I think you know what I like the most about him so far is him talking about this I mean I was listening to interviews doing with Gary nille and talk about the one idea so like how when the player gets the ball at any given point on the pitch every other player knows exactly what you know exactly what to do which I think we have been missing you’re right we’ve been missing it and even under ten hog we probably all got excited about him implementing his idea and whether it was just too much of a complicated idea for the players or what happened I don’t know what happened there really but we still never really saw like a concrete plan on the pitch um especially ironically towards the end of his tenure where you think by that point we should be having like a stable plan where everyone knows what they’re doing but um we didn’t so I think am talking about the plan seemingly knowing exactly what he’s going to do is obviously a positive thing so I think I like him I like his confidence as well coming from sporting um he’s done well but obviously he’s come to a much bigger club and but he’s not taking a backward step so which I like so I he’s positive signs so far but we’ll see when he gets on the pitch I suppose we’re gonna have to wait and see till Sunday so it’s quite good actually normally after International break sometimes we have the early kickoff and we’re not really keen on on that one of the things he said is that and this is probably directed a lot of Manchester United fans over the last year or so is he said I know you don’t believe a in these players actually it could be the press and media as well he says but he believes a lot in the players and thinks we have room to improve like to start with Manchester United like 13th in the league so we’ve got you know a massive amount to improve but you look at it and thinking like Manchester United looking at all the individual players they got we’re a better team than the performances we’ve seen like I I know we’ve got different views on players we like players we don’t like but I think most Manchester United fans will look at it and go let the players we signed over the last couple of seasons and the players we already had at the club there’s no way we’re like the the 13th best team in the league and and looking at us some there’s no there’s no way we should be playing teams near the bottom of the league and struggling to score any goals so I I agree with this quite a lot and I think he’s he’s probably trying to he seems to be trying to raise expectations which is quite Brave considering you know if you if you spin too much you’ve got to then try and back it up in results and things but what did you think of that comment yeah I mean I’m very I’m happy that obviously he’s coming out and he’s not um he’s not sort of talked about t down to the players and I’m sure he was never going to do that but I think he’s right I suppose we definitely have um a lot of room for improvement that’s for sure that’s why he was brought in to be honest um we wouldn’t have sacked our manager otherwise but I think as well like you know it’s sort of a nod to the the players as well kind of saying look like obviously you know we’ve had a downturn in form like you’ve not been very good but I don’t think it’s through lack of like ability I think it’s through lack of something else and you know he he immediately instilling belief in the players which is sort of really important when he first comes in um I think there are I I don’t think there are many players in the in the squad right now who can truly honestly say they’re playing at their highest capacity um if any to be honest and I think I think a lot of them know that um and so hopefully they can actually start doing that under amam I think that’s that’s one of the main difficulties of a United manager nowadays is actually getting the best out of the players and getting the players to want to play for you um because I think with ten hog there were a few players that just didn’t want to play for him by the end so um getting players to give 100% which should be like you know that that should be a given but it’s not anymore but I think that that’s quite important and I I reckon to be honest that quotes like that are only going to help that situation yeah United versus everybody says something I agree with as well saying if it was like Woodward merto Arnold glazers like everyone those making the decisions that they were a few years ago actually or until until recently actually I wouldn’t be as excited and this feels like a refresh in terms of that’s why I was saying that for me it feels different when Eric T hog took over but I know that when we if rewind like two and a half years ericon Hog’s unveiled as Manchester United manager there’s a lot of excitement because we’re playing absolutely terrible Football under ragn as interim manager and there’s a lot of expectation that Manchester United could probably try and play exciting football like we saw ax doing I think the issue now is that we’ve actually got a competent structure behind him so it’s not like it’s um the manager trying to deal with these people in charge at the club we’ve actually got people behind him that are going to make sensible decisions and there’s a couple of other quotes we can talk about later but one of them is about player recruit I’m like know Recruitment and amon’s saying that of course the the manager head coach whatever you want to call him they should have a significant input because they’re the people that are going to live and die by the results and their career is on the line if things go wrong so he should definitely have some input and people are a bit skeptical because of what happened under ericon hug and all the players he got reunited with I’ll say that big up to Danny in the chat as well good to see you Danny and Joel’s got a good comment saying like communication always seemed to be an issue and one of the things that was noticeable about the the press conference today was there’s a lot there’s a lot of questions and a lot of questions related to what’s gone wrong in the past how how is this different Manchester United have had like this many managers since Fergie there’s been this many kind of Cycles where people are going right things are going to change and he answered the questions really well in terms of like dealt with the issues explained what he wanted to do but I think the communication that seems really good in the press conference compared of Eric CH hog but also the communication with with the players when you look at him in training like it’s it’s one it feels like there’s one of like he’s trying to get the players on side by saying look I believe in the players I think the players can do much better but also there’s a clear message that if the players can’t do what he wants or performances are not good enough like those players are gone so I’ve been trying to tell people over the last couple of weeks because a lot of people are very annoyed and you might be in that group as well and I’m not sure but quite annoyed by individual players and there’s there’s a lot of bridge building for some players in terms of getting fans back on side not all fans but some fans are really going to take some convincing and I’m with the Mind thinking that what could be different here is that if a player doesn’t work out and whether we’re playing like 3421 3412 or we’re playing a slightly different ver variation in different matches if the players don’t work out I think they’re gone I I think that the you know the era of seeing players Outlast manager after manager I think there’s going to be a change in that cycl so how how do you think like do you sayare the same optimism as I do or do you think you need to be convinced further I think um well obviously I’m optimistic like I think I think it definitely H has to get better um I know people sort of say the cliche has to get worse to get better but we have got pretty bad so I think it will I think I’m optimistic at the fact that you know we have a plan whether the plan will work or not I mean even Amon was admitting that you know he doesn’t know whether it or work or not but he he at least knows what the steps are which is quite optimistic I think um in terms of sort of player power and kind of who the responsibility lies with um I think now modern football’s kind of changed in terms of how like who gets blame like the manager always gets a blame but I think players have more power than they ever have in terms of you know they can almost at will decide just to down tools and like say look I don’t want to play I mean you look at the the amount of players that have come out of injury as soon as ten Hog’s been sacked I mean it’s it’s it’s got death bed didn’t he I think L like regained the ability to walk I think to be honest actually from what I’ve seen Luke Shaw might be a player that despite of people people’s opinion he might be getting into the team because he he can perform a role that’s required in the team and turn um like Amara said this saying until they prove me wrong I believe in the players I was going to question you like I do you like are you going to like take the same sort of opinion where you go look some players have probably annoyed you a lot in the past are you going to say look let’s just see how they work in this system because I think towards the end of the like ten hog era some players just looked like every other game there’s some players like Casmir looked like he’d just forgotten how to play football at some point and the players will get hung out to dry I think there seems to be like I said a better organization in terms of what they’re expected to do but I think you got to expect also there might be a few teing issues there might be um it might be a little bit more defensive initially because he was in a an interview as well today I saw where he said the wing backs he might go more defensive to start with because and until the attacking players get used to the defensive responsibilities it might be a little bit less risky to have people like d and mazari as Wing backs rather than people looking at like jalo garnacho possibly more attacking Wing backs so he might he might have to modify a little bit and then try and work with things over time but he said until they provve me I believe in the players and I don’t think a lot of fans are probably sharing that at the moment but I think it gives the players an opportunity where you’re saying look it’s up to you now this is like you know this is what we need to do this is up to you there’s there’s a couple of um comments I want to go through before you can respond um Yorkshire Cowboy says hopefully these bad eggs can make a nice United omelet well it’s it’s about the team isn’t it it’s about the team and B’s got a couple of comments about saying should tenard get for improving well I don’t know did he improve Luke Shaw I don’t think he improved Luke Shaw I don’t think he improved rash potentially I think D but then again his position his positional sense doow is pretty poor I think I think maybe the tactics made it look worse though honest J jel says the difference is that we’re pting our hopes we were pting on our hopes on ericon hog to resurrect the club and perform Miracles this time it’s a team job isn’t it in terms of it feels like every working on the same page for the first time in a long time where you got the players you got the coaches you got Ruben amind and hopefully you got Ashworth Bara and those guys behind the scenes that were know they were know happy to build the team and then get the manager that fited the vision they wanted and you could see the transfers they made in the summer the managers they were linked to as well like Tel Amarin and one or two others where it looked like they’re deciding they wanted to play this sort of formation and some of the managers that link to suspiciously do play three at the back so it looks like the fans were looking at the squad building and thinking there’s a change is happening but what’s your thoughts on the comment about until they like are you willing to give players like a a clean not a clean well maybe not a clean slate but you’re willing to like go let’s just see what you can do I think yeah I’m I’m willing to sort of say in a system this new system potentially players who didn’t really um suit the 10 system Sy will look a lot better in this system You could argue that there’ll be players that might not look as good in the amarim system they did in whatever system 10 half was trying to employ so obviously I have to give them time um but the problem is with um that quote from amam is that he’s only just started being a United fan whereas we’ve all been watching them for the last sort of 10 like you know this team for the last three four years so we know what the players are like you know we know um you know Luke Shaw’s injured half the time we know that you know there’s certain players who can turn it on when they want to and turn it off when they want to um so obviously he’s got to believe in the players I I want you know I think that a different system May suit certain players and I think that you have to allow for that so until yeah until they prove me wrong I I think I think I do agree with Amar I think it’ll probably take me less time to fall out of believing in the players but just because we know them we know the players we know what they’re like and if they start showing same Tendencies they were doing under ten har we’ll know it’s about them it’s not about the system so I’ll give them time but probably less than am R will to be honest which is probably a good thing because you know if that was the case people would be getting dropped after one or two games if our fan base had our way so yeah Bas on the budget based on the budget he’s probably got to get some of the players to work for him anyway and B says did United did United fans expect ten hog to to deliver pet ball and I don’t think Manchester United fans ever want Manchester United to play like City I think initially we wanted to see exciting football we wanted to see results we wanted to lift Trophies the issue we got probably is that we did lift a couple of trophies but we we just lost competitivity in the the league we just became like pretty poor and I think the football was just disappointing to watch as well so Ian what what did you expect that from ericon hog when he started on I I mean obviously I was excited by like the passing style he had at Ajax and I was hoping that he could Implement that and then you know like I think that style of play is where Modern football like the best teams play that way unless you’re Real Madrid they kind of play sort of almost uh we’ve got the best players Ball but I think that um I wasn’t expecting pep because that that’s an idea that’s taken pep ages to sort of come up with and it it it basically takes pep to have an open checkbook and just say right you’re the best passer you can do this you can do that um but I think I was expecting yeah just a n a style of play that most teams in the league wouldn’t be able to cope with just because it’s so accurate and precise but it never really got to that um and I think I think hoping for Pep was always going to be a bit too optimistic but someone like you said rich like to get to competing with pep like to be a Level Playing Fielder or even just a little bit lower of like okay like when we come up against the top top teams like a Guardiola City you know like kpps Liverpool we can go toe-to-toe them and say no this is our way of playing we’re not going to play on the on the break we’re not going to park the bus we’re going to play our way and we can beat you and that just never really happened do I think there’s a good comment here from Stephanie who says that Ruben’s an anyos pick so he might get properly supported and I think this is true that because they did buy they spent a lot of money for ten hog a lot over the last couple of Seasons but I think this it feels like they’re instead of ericon hug working for them I know admirin is the same same position pretty much but I think he’s going to be better supported or at least he might be more on the same the same page in terms of that they know what he wants to do he knows you know what they want as well and it looks like they can work together a little more a little bit more effectively in terms of he’s got a vision and he’s pretty much said look I want to install my vision where it didn’t take Eric chog very long to say look I can’t do it and you know when ericon hug sort of abandoning what made him an attractive manager to start with and you look at and think we bought you most of your team and you and like you said at the end of the the end of two and a half years ericon Hog’s football looked worse than it ever had and I think that’s the disappointing thing amon’s going to come in with a a squad that has been built a lot around some of the players ericon hug worked with in the past so this is going to be like quite a a good test because because at the start of the Season he’s pretty much got the squad chog has had for the the first many games we’ve seen so far we’re going to see what sort of tune he can get out of these players because apart from Yo coming back it’s going to be the same sort same players and we’re going to see if they’re G they can be reorganized in a better way I even think van nistro was doing a better job as interim manager where just pushing a few players like Bruno Fernandez was a bit further out the pitch got four goals in four games we saw gaps in Midfield closing and I was just saying like you know how um you were saying about if one player receives the ball in a certain area of the pitch the other players know what to do I remember seeing an interview probably like 15 years ago and I can’t which Arsenal Defender it was it might have been Lee Dixon saying exactly the same thing under George grahames Arsenal saying if one player had the ball every defensive player knew where they had to be on the pitch and it was just drilled you know day in day out drilled into them and this is a sort of thing if you’re working with the players day in day out amon’s got no time at the moment and I think that’s why he’s trying to say look I’ve got an idea but it’s going to take a bit of time to try and get that idea instilled and that sort of just through repetitive training I guess into the drills where they they just finally work out you know what he wants to do but I’m hoping we see at least something completely different to what we have seen I think I switch will be definitely there to spoil the party but I’ll go through a few comments and but saying should the United fans show some gratitude to for weathering the ownership change storm getting rid of I don’t think Eric CH hug really had much to say in a lot of things was he involved in the Leaky Roof getting getting the roof fixed don’t think he I don’t think so be up yourself Jeff as well sh from Texas USA hope you’re doing well Jeff and also B up Nile as well I hope you’re doing well I hope you’re doing well and top top player I I missed for some reason missed with his comments but hope you guys are all doing all doing well um rude improved it rapidly did you notice that do you think just like a few tweaks in terms of how the players were playing and just not being quite so even though we weren’t throwing players forward that we did in some matches we we looked like a lot better team that we looked like a team that could like take the lead and actually hold out for the match it looked like a big change yeah I think I think he um he did did seem to inspire the players a little bit I don’t know how much of that was kind of them feeling free from the shackles of ten hog or he is a good coach I mean obviously he did well at his previous club like he he wanted to manage the team and I think a lot of the players would have loved him to be coach um and you know potentially one day he will be you know you never know but I think he did like we we just looked a lot better I remember the I switch game um was it switch oh no leester sorry cup leester in the cup that’s it so my bad and um we did look just better like we look we looked more cohesive we looked like in attack we looked like we had like an idea um and yeah it was just kind of like just looked a lot better very quickly um which you know did that restored a bit of my faith in the players to be fair that it can happen and they’re good players um so yeah I think it was interesting like I think Amon was always going to bring in his staff but keeping vistro there would have been an interesting move because he obviously knows a lot of the players he knows what their skill sets are and perhaps him being able to relay am’s kind of um idea might have helped him I don’t know but I’m sure he’ll be back at the club at some capacity at some point it just feels like if he does carry on his journey in management he’s going to be one of the top managers around so you know good luck to him I thought he was going to get the commentary job to be honest I know it’s an interesting one isn’t it he turned down a couple of jobs to join Manchester United I think to be honest if I’m looking at Van nistroy as much as it’s great to see van nistroy as part of United the club I think for him he probably just needs to like Forge his own way a bit like McKenna is doing an IP switch I think he just needs to go out there get his own job he should be a manager or head coach go for that role um another thing that was said during the press conference today was not an impossible job and people have labeled it a bit impossible in terms of I think because of the way we’ve run ourselves as a club with the glazers you know some of the the transfer deals we’ve done nothing’s made a lot of sense in terms of what we’re trying to do as a club do you think they saying it’s not an impossible job do you think he’s coming in at the right time in terms of like like Chang is actually happening for once yeah I I think um you know there’s a slight call for like intering managers and all this it just no it’s not it’s not the right we needed someone we was like going to be the full-time boss like it’s just you got people coming in inter him it just just fiddles with stuff like ragn really didn’t really help at all um in fact he just he just sort of threw a grenade and then left really ragn to be fair um but yeah I think I think like he’s come in he’s got enough time left in this season to even have an impact in this season um and I think he’s he’s gonna he going to take time to implement whatever he his idea but I think you know you got the January transfer window coming up whether we’ll do much business and that I don’t know but he’ll have enough time to look at the players and then come the end of the season he can be cutrow he can say look you’re you’re not going to work out you’re not going to work out you’re not going to work out and I want them gone and I want these people here and I think inos will do that so I think it is the right time um I think it’s quite negative to say it’s impossible it’s it’s it’s a hard job because of the size of the club and the kind of there’s nowhere to hide you have a bad result and suddenly you’re a villain you know you know that’s just the way United is so I think it’s it’s not impossible and I think son am Rim’s coming and he’s he’s young he’s you know positive he’s got he hasn’t never really had that worry of managing a big club and I think I I get the feeling that he will take it in his stride so I I I think I think it’s a good time to appoint him to be fair um I I do like the fact as well he was given a bit of time we didn’t just appoint him straight away we we let the international break happen in hindsight obviously you want the new toy straight away but it meant that kind of you can have a bit of a buildup a bit of a a bit of training and he probably had time to sort of really sort of Mark out what he was going to do so I’m looking forward to it I don’t think it’s impossible on any stretch I mean you you don’t you just need to be consistent to get up the league like we’re only four points off fourth aren’t we or something like that no it’s just quite crazy how compressed the league is but he said this that his contract’s two and a half years and he says in years time you guys can understand if I’m the right man in this process and I was just thinking after two years ericon hug was kind of in charge of Manchester United’s worst start to a season wasn’t he and I think that’s probably what his St for was I think with Amarin a lot of people are wondering how well it’s going to work out with the different player players trying to play in a different position but what we’re going to see is and I agree with what you’re saying if things don’t work out the difference is I did get the feeling that amaron could say look this play needs to go and we know at Sporting Lisbon and I said this to people last night and I know that it’s really try trying to compare the club Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United is different because Sporting Lisbon if a a good player comes through they they’re going to cash in they’re going to sell him and there there’s a an countless number of players that have come through Sporting Lisbon that are really good and they do get sold for a lot of money so but then it’s kind of on the on the manager like Ameron to then rebuild sporting like with that money probably not spending all the transfer fee but rebuilding again so I think this time if he goes to Manchester United and says look Bruno Fernandez and rashford don’t fit into my team I think inos will be like in the past I think inos and any manager that’s managed Manchester United the last decade if you sold Bruner Fernandez and you sold rashford there is no doubt in my mind that the glazers would buy someone worse for the team and we’d be worse off like if you looked at our transfer policy it’s like when we sold Cristiano Ronaldo I think we got um do we get over 10 or something I think we just bought players that just nowhere near the level of the players that left and that happened for years and if Manchester United was being run purely by the glazers and the people that we talked about earli start this podcast if you also said look Bruno Fernandez isn’t working out I’m pretty sure we’d buy someone worse than Bruno to try and fill his place and we’ do the same with rashford I get the feeling now that if Fon can say look this is the player profile I need they’ve also got competent people that can go right excellent these are the players who want to see that we can we can try and recruit and we can get now if we go like right we need a wing back we could get Davis maybe he’s on a free we could get a couple of other options as well kirz is one people like there’s there’s another couple of players we can look at as well do you think one of these will work out whereas I’m pretty sure if we if we did this two years ago and amaron said look I need this player I think we probably just go it doesn’t matter we we’ve got them even better we’ve got leowski it’s like don’t worry about you need a left B oh don’t worry about that because we’ve got um we’ve got wesy Schneider coming in oh we’ve got um oh benzema’s 40 says he wants to join yes let’s do that yeah you’re right I think I think it is it’s good that we’ve got everyone on the right page on the same page anyway um and that’s how every other top club runs and we’ve just been running it kind of like career mode for the last sort of you know 10 years we in career mode but we’ve done it in reverse we’ve been young players and buying older ones and then the players we do buy that are young are usually like too young and untested so um B got a question saying how much better is amind than any than any other Wonder kid manager like nagles and the question is that it’s completely impossible to tell at the moment but we’re just you’re looking at two managers there that have both done really well and exciting managers Manchester United just recruited one and go let let’s let’s see how this works so I think you can’t tell that early on in the club’s in the manager’s career but if you’re wondering who he replaced Ronaldo for um J said um that’s valencius that’s a typo but Oban Michael Owen Valencia people like Valencia but Oban and Michael Owen are definitely not Club Legends no I mean I think I’d put Oban above Michael Owen to be honest in not saying something um but yeah I I think I think that was sort of the work I mean how how s sort of still managed to win season after season despite stuff like that happening was a testament to how good he is a manager because some of those like some of the spending and some of the players that we bought end up being horrendous um yeah so yeah it I’m hoping that we’re not going to yeah we we’ve sort of turned the corner and we’ve got our team in place now um with football brains and actual football Minds instead of commercial the commercial side will always kind of be there but it should be a kind of a side effect rather than the actual cause like it shouldn’t be we should get this player in because he’ll sell a load of shirts and he might be pretty handy on the pitch it should be this player’s fitting what we want and you know Ergo he will he will sell shirts because that’s what he does but like you know if you get success from the pitch the commercial side takes care of itself you’re Manchester United if Manchester win a trophy it’s not going to matter who’s at the club they’re going to be Superstars aren’t they if Manchester United wins the league then it’s going to it’s not going to matter who’s in the squad so I think we’ve looking at if you look at Sporting Lisbon team now people talking about like quenda as like an 84 million pound player he’s like 17 he’s just played in his first season and people are looking at these other players that they never heard of like a lot of people watching I hadn’t heard of a lot of these players before and now these players have being quoted as being like 70 million pound 80 million pound I know that I know they’re the buyout Clauses and no one’s going to pay that much money but it’s one of those things that if Manchester United promoted a few youth players they signed a couple of obscure players that we we don’t really know that well but they fit the system and then Manchester United move up the league like maybe win a trophy maybe the challenge for the Premier League those players will be superstars in their own right anyway and Manchester United will will sell like if they want to sell shirts it should didn’t take much like um I was give a couple of comments like if you ever been in Manchester United’s Club shop or any shop that says Manchester United stuff it doesn’t take much to sell the United name you just put it on any old yeah so true isn’t it um weers are better said good evening Rich in chat hope you’re doing well weers are better even um what was what was I predicted in the future I was saying it’s I was just saying it’s going to get better but we’re 13th in the league so it’s it’s not going to get much worse is it no fingers crossed I think Bart’s just listing trying to list the team that isn’t it I mean like nowadays it seems like the internet does your Scouting For You I mean a player who’s like 16 playing in Brazil if they’re going to be the business there’s already been a hundred compilations of them put on Twitter so like Scout’s almost like you know it’s important but it’s a lot of the time like the ones that you know are going to make it most of the time end up on social media any anyway but it is interesting before then yeah you actually have to go out and like go fly to these places and look at these players yeah B bot says should United hand out a page your play deal for injury prone players I was going to say good luck getting Luke sh time one of those because he certainly he’s got a mortgage to pay he’s probably got a few mortgages to pay actually he probably doesn’t need I I don’t know I think it’s that’s just what what you should do really is you should look at this and when it comes to negotiating the deal you should just make a a much more sensible offer if you look at I’m not sure much Luke sh’s on was on like 150k maybe like 200 and it might have gone down because we don’t have Champions League football it’s one of these deals where you go look we handed him the deal we probably shouldn’t have handed in the deal maybe just hand had them a lower contract or just say look this is the offer on the table we don’t think we you can play like 40 games a season we think you’re going to play 20 so this is how much were going to pay you because the end of the day they probably should have just m not not kept him will better said he’s a bit underwhelmed by Amar in the presser not sure I could listen to him every week oh fair enough no you don’t have to I suppose like a lot of press conferences I don’t really watch because I I and firing he’s the best left back in the world and you know I I’d say that I think when he’s on on his best form certainly in the league 100% I was thinking how long this is going to take you you’ve been um you’ve been what’s the word you’ve been a bit critical of Bruno Fernandez for a while maybe like two years at least and you said you’d sell Bruno Fernandez yeah to rebuild the squad yeah but have you have you changed your mind at all or do you think look he’s probably not going to get sold this year in fact we just handed him a bigger contract hav we yeah so so he’s think that what’s your what’s your view then Owen are you going to say look Luke um like I think with like um United vers de Luke shorta it’s not his fault he’s injured that’s 100% true Bruno Fernandez do you give him a chance this season until they prove me wrong I believe in the players um I think I think yeah I’ll give him because I think again like I think under under this system obviously am will will like him I think um I i’ I’d be surprised if he doesn’t play um and especially being captain and we’ll see the proof will be in the pudding I suppose I mean if if hopefully in a more kind of structured uh role that he’ll have like a more sort of accurate like detailed role that he’ll have potentially the tendencies that sort of annoy me about him will not be as prevalent like you know him giving the ball away all the time and stuff that so I I’m willing to give him a chance but obviously you know if he is there um annoying me again I will not hesitate to let people know so yeah we’ll see we’ll see I think I think you look as well you got the Portuguese connection there um you’ve got the the fact that he obviously knows amarim and he’s he’ll know a lot about him and you know so I think we have to give it a chance and Bruno like despite what I’ve said about him I think he does have quality um that’s evident I can’t say against that and potentially you know he might turn Bruno into a world class player I believe it when I see it but he might do so I think we have to give him a chance like all the players really so yeah can’t say might see might see some surprises but just we’ll talk about the team in a minute we better says I hope he starts Erikson alongside Bruno in the two10 bringing on Armor and mount in the second half and people have actually talked about Mount we talked about that last night saying Mason Mount done that Ro for Chelsea and he’s he’s not been at Manchester United that long and he’s had really bad injury issues but if you rewind like a few years in M’s career he’s actually Chelsea’s player of the season for two years playing in that sort of position so he’s definitely someone that can do that and if he’s going to if we’re looking at maybe like players like Amad jalo and Kobe Mayu as like the future Manchester United having someone like Mason mount in the squad even if it’s not for very long if he shows them pretty much how to do the role and what’s required like I think his position was spot on in training they were saying that as well that he could be useful at least in the short term and I think Bruno Fernandez as well and rashford there’s there’s a lot of players that in this transition period from the squad we got now to the squad we’re going to have in two or three years time and I think we might see an aggressive rebuild I think these players are going to be quite important in terms of being senior players at the squad that can at least use some of their experience in different teams as well they’ve played just to show that they’re not the team is a lot better than it has been but also there’s been no real Ro role models for you like Mayu and gacho come into the team and who who they look up to they’re expected to carry the team rather than actually learn from the the professionals yeah I think it’s it’s all that’s the sort of excitement isn’t it like where it’s going to go um but yeah we don’t really have any one kind of like um Inc positions like the important positions like the Spy of the team that you can kind of go like they’ve got loads of experience like look up to them so yeah I don’t know it’s there’s a lot of stuff that could happen um I think that’s what we’re looking forward to really like we just sort of kind of waiting um hoping that whatever does happen will be successful what do you think of like some of the suggestions like there’s a lot of suggestions in terms of Bruno Fernandes plays behind the striker as a 10 rashford as a striker Grano as a wing back or a 10 mazari as part of the three three at the back or as a wing back Luke Shaw as a left wing back or left side of Defense there’s all these different combinations of players that could play like does Bruno Fernandez drop back into Midfield C Mayu becomes a a 10 or do we see like casir and aart Midfield there seems to be like a actually quite a few variations of what we could try but see anything you see where you think okay that definitely won’t work like gach as the wing backs one as a wing back rashford as a wing back Jolo mrai like there there’s like suggested already that I think I think garat as a wing back I think he does track back anyway like sometimes I think he but I can see that being a bit of um Conflict for him because he kind of doesn’t really want to do that and I think he’s at his best when he’s like you’ll do it but I I feel like he he he wants to be like you know like probably all attackers really like they don’t really want to have to do it it’s sort of like donkey work isn’t it like it’s important but it’s sort of work which I think the wing backs though under this system the wing back should be predominantly aggressive and like they should be more attacking than defensive but they should at least understand the defensive role so it’s one that well gacho might be quite good in terms of that he might understand the defensive side of it but it’s going to be a lot more attacking because you’re looking at thinking we’ve already got three Defenders back there already so they’re just going to come back to help a little bit but the idea is going to be that they’re mainly attacking players so I think if we got Davis in the January I know it’s some quite a big salary is going to be on but he would be a step up in quality from what we’ve got at the moment but who do you think would like if you could pick like one or two players that you think in a different Position will look actually like a useful player so you got like rashford gacho doo Maybe xery maybe they got a few to choose from I think xery um in like a more like not as a striker but maybe as a number 10 could potentially work because he’s got a good passing range I think and like he’s not a natural goal scorer um but he’s got something I I truly believe that he’s got something like when he’s played um especially when he first started he was linking play he was he was sort of you know ensuring the attack was was quick and sort of he he he as soon as he got the ball he was looking to get rid of it so I think as a number 10 xerx he could potentially work um there’ll be a lot of people wanting to play in the 10 but if you’re talking about players who could play out position um I think Mason Mount probably for Chelsea at some point played a bit more of a defensive role so I can I can see him being in that um ironically someone like Momin would have been interesting because he he would have been willing to do a lot of defensive work and like but at the same time going forward he can be a threat as well um Rashard up tops obviously already happened already work so that could definitely that could definitely happen um and I could see him applying his trade as a as a left wing back to be fair saaka did it when he started his career and you know on the break there’s not when he’s firing on the break someone like Marcus Rashid scary for any opposition um you know so yeah I I can definitely see it 100% see I can even see someone like Mayu being given license to go further forward and maybe players are sort of almost an attacking midfielder rather than a just a central midfielder like he’s got the passing range um and he’s got an eye for a goal as well so you know I could see that happening so yeah there’s a few players that that could definitely change position um Antony’s another interesting one because God he’s not a right winger that’s for sure um he can’t he can’t really take players on um so yeah I think I think his best work would be cutting inside in some capacity or even being given a you know a bit of an attacking role but still having you know not not being asked to like you know pull up trees but just be solid in on the wing potentially like right wing back or even maybe a bit of an inverted position where he plays in the pockets kind of like Bernardo Silva does a city I could see you know with his left foot sort of cutting into side and playing that pass on the right foot defender’s left foot so yeah there’s a few players actually it’s interesting question it’s quite a good question as you reach too far I had really thought about it but yeah giv opportunity isn’t it I think what what we’ve seen here is that there’s enough players that have got at least a couple of positions they could probably try and adapt to and this is a good comment from Danny b as well saying these players need to step up and adapt and be able to play multiple positions like they should be able to play multiple positions cuz I think the best players in the past like I don’t think Rooney wanted to play on the left but he put him on the left and he could play he didn’t always want to play in Midfield but you put him in Midfield and he can play there and he could also play like behind the striker as a striker like multiple positions so I think with like that even other players in the past have been absolutely fine playing multiple positions and I think these players do need to step up but they’re going to have an opportunity aren’t they in terms of amon’s going to test them and if it doesn’t work out then I think they just get replaced so I don’t think it’s a a question of whether like we’ve written off players I think if you look at the Players the squad we got now there’s a lot of players like Erikson say Maguire Evans Lindelof those players will be gone probably before the start of next season I don’t think any of those players will be at Manchester United unless for some reason like people like Maguire maybe maybe one of them possibly on a lower contract because they’re going to be a backup player as part of the squad but I think they they’re probably mostly going to be gone if they don’t F and also because they’re going to be replaced by younger players because we want to be a bit more Dynamic we want to have a bit that Defenders can be good on the ball I think we’ got a lot of Defenders that are good on the ball but I think Pace wise I think they just off it in terms of where we want to be so I’m going to go for a couple of comments and saying United said body says I don’t see Anthony wanting to play a wing back role he wants to be involved and take shots I think to be honest anony is just lucky if he gets in the team based on the last season but he will he has taken what 40 shots to get one goal and that was a penalty so I would suggest that he probably shouldn’t be reli you can’t really say a lot can you I got like that that compilation that aax compilation where he was cutting inside and bending it in the bottom corner that fooled me completely because I thought like that’s what he’s going to be doing for us like I Robin and just never happened it’s scored three goals in three games when he started as Manchester career and then after that I was thinking okay this is pretty good this is like no then then after that I think he got worked out so quickly it was unbelievable and then he had nothing unfortunately yeah the modern game has ruined that a bit used to just be midfielder now it’s 6108 say United versus everybody Danny Beast to sell them all e may gacho well the whole okay I think what Danny B is saying this is like a follow-up comment saying if um if it doesn’t work out then sell them but give everyone a chance I think that’s what I was saying I was say sell sell them all a little bit drastic already yeah did you this comment for was one comment as well from the press conference saying I want to try new things and you guys think it’s not possible do you think that this is like I think this is aimed at the Press really like do you look at it ow do you think the squad is capable of fulfilling his vision in terms of like let’s be honest we’re probably not going to be signing a lot of new players in January so do you think the squad is good enough to put in enough performances to climb up the league quite a lot I think it’s I I think because I’ll congest the league is if you can just put together like five good results you’ll shoot up the league and suddenly the whole narrative will shift and then potentially that’s where of momentum comes into play um obviously we don’t really have a lot of momentum at the moment because you know we’re kind of known as the sort of team that should be doing a lot better but we’re just not playing well and when it’s like when people say it’s not going for you stuff just doesn’t go for you um so I think I think I think we can definitely go up the league and I I do think that the players are capable of it it’s just for how long for they’ve always been capable of putting in runs and good performances and sort of months of quality and then it drops off so it’s the dropping off which is the interesting bit for me um I think we’re capable of going up the league 100% I think our performances are capable of getting better 100% but it’s whether we can maintain that three months down the line is going to be the interesting factor for me um I think we’ve got the players to do it I think we’ve got the manager to do it I think we’ve got an idea hopefully that we give a bit of time but we’ve seen it before where a new managers coming think right that’s it now the players can properly knuckle down and little things have started happening little kind of petty things that don’t shouldn’t really matter start getting blown up in the press and you know typical things that if it weren’t at United wouldn’t matter but suddenly it’s at United you know what Darren Fletcher have for breakfast is quite a big deal so it’s it’s kind of like little news stories like that and you know little things that can turn into big things can derail it so I’m I’m looking for I think I think we can definitely get a lot better I think we will go up the league um I think it’ll surprise people how quickly we’ll get into a position of actually you know competing like in League table wise maybe not for the title for for sure I mean I think that’s going to go to Liverpool City don’t think he’ll go to Arsenal to be honest which I’m pretty happy about but I think um top four I think think we’ll I I think we’ll get top four I I I I would not be shocked if we were in the top four come the end of this year I think it could definitely happen Okay do you think that’s like the target then like so some of the questions I’ve been getting recently been like what’s your expectation for the rest of the season and I say um try and finish as high up the table as we can hopefully top four but win Europa League as well try try and win a trophy and I think Europa League is one that’s that’s possible we shouldn’t be saying it though at United should be like our targets top I know I know it should it is our top but like I just want to go back to saying our targets winning the title and that’s that’s that’s where we should be but obviously top four is kind of where we are at the moment if we’re realistic um so yeah I reckon that definitely will be the target um I think that I think it’s very very achievable like I don’t look at the other teams around and think there’s unbeatable quality there Chelsea are getting better Spurs are kind of you know going back to their old selves um despite an’s trying to implement stuff so yeah why not top four is there I think I think it can definitely happen um I just then want top four to be a springboard for Progress instead of kind of going okay we’ve got top four and you can like we have before where we’ve kind of rested on our Laurels and then everyone else has got better and then we get slightly worse I don’t think am or inos will let that happen so I’m I’m looking forward to it but I think on we’re on the up I think we’re on the up for sure yeah unit ver everybody says like at some point the manager got to be bold and drop the players and I said this like loads of times that I want to see if that an underperforming player should get dropped but it doesn’t matter who the player is that if it’s like a player you think should be in the team and he’s not playing well that’s why I think that he’s going to go right this is the the team and and if whatever whatever reason like it could be Bruno Fernandez could be rashford gacho jalo xery it could be anyone couldn’t it if they put in a bad performance they should get dropped and I think what we’re looking at this I’m going to put a lineup Owen just to this is like one of the things that’s been discussed recently about potential team okay so if you look at it I’ll just go through it quickly say like rashford says a striker but you’ve got Holland like Bruno Fernandez Al Jolo you’ve also got options there of Haron Erikson you got Mount you’ve got um let’s say who else there is like May Mayu could play under there as well xery and then for Wing backs you got mrai you got doow you you could possibly have shorta maybe you could look at Anthony you could look at another attacking player that could play as a wing back that in Midfield maybe casemiro maybe agarte maybe Mayu plays instead of casemiro but you do have maybe we need more options in Midfield actually and then defensive wise you got backups are going to be players like Evans Lindelof Maguire you could also look at maybe like most RAR playing in the defense do playing in defense so I think defensive wise we’re actually quite good until next summer when players leave but at the moment in terms of like the squad we got now I think we’ve actually got at least like an option so if this team goes out on the weekend and plays terribly you can pretty much replace any other the players on the team with another player that could do the job I don’t think there’s anyone that’s I don’t think this formation and this way of playing means that one player is like vital to the team and we we we can’t drop them so if Bruno Fernandez plays awful you go right Mason Mount you can have a go or Mayu can play or xery or Doo or granach or rashford can play behind holand it’s not a problem there’s like multiple options for multiple plays and I think the problem we’ve got as a fan base I think has been watching a player play badly for 90 minutes and thinking why is he still on the pitch he’s done nothing and you see another player like you probably you think that that about Bruno don’t you Owen when you look at Bruno playing badly go look he’s not going to do anything this match and sometimes it could be Bruno sometimes it could be somebody else but there’s no other option it feels like it feels like there’s no other option in the way we’ve been playing whereas I think with this I just think there are are some are some other options yeah yeah for sure I think that you know that’s kind of like how you measure Squad depth it’s like in a game if you’re if someone’s not performing do you have someone to come on that is not going to decrease the actual level of the performance or the level of like what’s you know um what what’s able to happen on the pitch um like and kind of what’s possible and I think we have you know not necessarily like for like Replacements but we do have players who can come in and the overall kind of performance isn’t going to dip um especially if they’re not having the best of games so yeah I think I think there was a bit of that with tenh hard where certain players were getting brought off when they’re having a bad time of it and other players you know like Bruno who for the last year really is not been amazing has not really been brought off you know been on for the whole 90 minutes and I suppose it’s that thing of everyone you know he’s got the ability to pull a rabbit out the Hat um which you know he does to be fair but I think not it’s not the ideal situation though is it it’s not that’s not what you want to see in a team I’m looking at this like lineup now just because I think that let’s move up a bit so have like weird adverts so I’m just looking at this lineup and thinking no one no one’s like suddenly 100% needed for this team like if if um if hland doesn’t work out I think at the moment Striker wise we’ve got Holland and possibly rashford I don’t think XX is an option so it feels like we’re a bit lightweight on Strikers at the moment but it looks like behind the striker we’ve actually got quite a few players to choose from so if you think Bruno Fernandez is like playing like a few games and not playing well there’s a lot of options Ow like there’s like Mason M we know he’s got these injury issues but if you take the injury issues aside we know that in the past he’s done that role quite well Al jalo is looking good at the moment like maybe he gets a lot more a lot more game time because I think at the moment if you look at the team players like armad jallo players like um gacho they’re gonna be the future of the team but maybe in the maybe right now it might be that those players possibly aren’t picked quite as much because he’s going to go for experience that might be a bit more in terms of like just a few sessions players come back from International Duty it might be that at the moment is’s going to have to go look just until they get it possibly I don’t know it might be that Alo Jello does start it might be that he’s not quite ready or maybe he’s not you know up to speed in terms of like like said that trying to drill into people what they need to do a lot of the experienced players were talking about Bruno Fernandez man they should be fine they should know what to do in a certain system um Mid um Midfield might be light I think that’s a good sh because we saw mctom we’re probably going to try to move on Cirro but I don’t know how much backup we got it’s a good job we did get a GTE in the end otherwise we might be struggling Midfield do you think we need a like a more creative midfielder that I think yeah I mean I think we have like players who I think we have like players who like can create when they want to but not as consistently but even casemiro to be fair he can play a line breaking pass um and often he plays that one too where someone will said it to him he’ll play over the top of the defense and that’s what had you know varying degrees of success I mean I think he’s kind of you know we we’ve been wasteful with our chances recently but I do think that that’s an option um I mean someone like Mason Mount is a CED midfielder but he’s just not shown it and maybe you know he’s not been given too much of an opportunity but he’s not shown it at the moment so yeah another credit midfielder would be would be good I think I think um unless you’re going to try and employ a thing where everyone’s kind of being creative then I don’t I don’t think we have enough there in terms of creating chances we have we have people who can score them we have people who can sort of cut inside and have a shot if they want but in terms of creating a solid um like really good chance it’s only really Bruno that has that ability to be honest what sort of players do you think we need I honestly can’t remember when we did transfer podcast on the but there’s a few shats here Nan’s linked um been recently quite young player I think 17 rig there’s also aonso Davis and bran fight seem to be the two players I keep seeing about what’s your views on those I honestly can’t remember cuz I mentioned brand fight um a lot of people either say too expensive or there’s a few people that say definitely buy him like do you have either of those views or are you in the middle um branway left footed Center back he’s young he’s I think he’ll be a good player I don’t think he’s a definitely buy um I think he’s expensive but expensive yeah yeah he’s obviously got the English tax on him as well um which helps Aon I suppose um who is the other one sorry so Alonso Davis is one that out contract so he got sign a contract with Bayern Munich so maybe he’s gonna be it’s it’s a very is a decent one it’s a very kind of Woodward signing isn’t it uh Davis although Davis is is quite young so maybe that kind of counteracts that but I think like it’d be very good I think it’d be a good coup to be fair I think like um he’s obiously played Wing back before and he’s very quick he’s got he’s got good ability so I would yeah I definitely like I definitely welcome him to be fair Davis actually he seems to like take a few boxes doesn’t he because he’s exciting player he actually fits what we need in terms of like personally if we had a choice between D and Masari on the right I probably pick mazra based on what I’ve seen so far this season and I’d probably be happy that he can play left and right and look at maybe trying to get some money for Dow which this might be a controversial view I’m happy to give I’m happy to give Dow like a a chance in this team under Amarin but if we’re looking at cashing in I might be tempted thinking we got mazra can do that I do appreciate we need Squad depth as well but kirz and Davis out of contract Davis Kind of ticks the box of being like a very young like ex well a very exciting player definitely one of those players that maybe we tried to sign in the past because he’s definitely a shirt seller and player that people will be excited to see as like a a big signing because we know he’s definitely quality but also is actually something we need so it’s not ass signing for the sake of signing a quality player that will sell shirts and create interest you actually fits what we need but also he’s young enough as well to to grow with the team he’s only 24 and K another player as well that people talking about and he’s out of contract as well so potentially we can sign like more players than we realize but we don’t have to spend crazy money yeah as in kirz is did he play for Bournemouth or is he still playing for is he still I don’t know for Bournemouth yeah when he played against us but we just been we we look really bad against I think even I’ve seen J about it and I think just to see him in that team now in the starting lineup for United I think would be would I think he’s gonna make a big impact if he stays fit touchwood um I think that he he’s he he has potential to create as well with his passing or at least set us off on attacks and I think that could be a very exciting part of our season as well and yeah Mayu of course yeah that’s going to with this new system it won’t really be like that so yeah it’ll be interesting though but I do obviously you want your class players to be playing and Y is definitely going to be warning I’m sure yeah what I I saw in like a clip earlier on today I SP okay this looks like a bit more likely I think armad jalo Brun Fernandez might be the option as well I don’t know whether I just think if you move like if you move some of the players like rashford as a wing back I don’t think he’s not the best at defending that area I don’t think get I think it just makes him look worse I think if he’s not if he’s going to play as a wing back you may as well sell him and just buy a wing back that would probably cost less than the money you get in for him but any anything you change in this team Owen and I know that it’s impossible to please everybody but last night I think we had Mason mountain in there and with jalo not in there I I think I think I’d put Mayu in um personally uh I don’t I think instead of casema potentially but just for a bit more energy and a bit more kind of passing ability Doo I mean d like I think he I think he warrants a start at the moment but I think that you know his his defensive Frailty is is annoying me to be honest um at the like he’s kind of out of position a lot seems to be whenever we ConEd a goal he’s kind of at the heart of it um you know not tracking his Runner so I think if he can fix that up then yeah of course i’ I’d see him start but I would potentially change him who for i’ maybe put ma RI on the right and then put Luke Shaw on the left um and then I think Amad deserves to start um but I think r someone will turn up and I’ll just put something on screen saying this is Owen’s lineup yeah yeah yeah but um rashford up top I mean oh H maybe I’d put hland up top instead of rashford i’ put hyand up top actually yeah instead of rashford I think rashford at the moment is going through a terrible patch and I just the only well that’s true that is before and I will do again but when I watch Luke Shaw at his best he’s electric like he he can you know he’s in going forward he can link play he’s got a really good pass on him um overlapping runs and players love playing with him and I think you know in the day there’s a reason for that um I I I I’d say he’s I’d say when he’s fit I honestly would say he’s the best left back in the league I think that might be controversial and well not no definitely it is controversial probably anything’s controversial I think at the moment with Manchester United I just think that he’s without him in the team especially um on under ten hog without him in the team we’ve looked you know hopeless I’m not saying he was the reason we were we were doing really well but it can’t be a coincidence that he’s not he’s been absent and we’ve absolutely tanked since he’s been absent um you know in terms of controversial comments watch your memory like going top top player says just remember when I said performances for Manchester United so I’m happy with that so it’s um do you know what though thing is it’s it’s a tricky one isn’t it when we have these Internationals recently where England are beating teams 5- nil like just to get through to a different nations League Group whatever that means I don’t pay a lot of attention if if players like pretend to be injured to miss it like good because you get paid by Manchester United you get paid like hundreds of thousands of pounds a week and if you’re then injured it’s just annoying um yeah I think in terms of Luke Shaw when was he last playing well now you’re asking me to remember things last not injured what’s the thing I think in ten Hog’s first season he was he was very good um I bet now there’s going to be a stat brought up by someone saying he played like eight games in his first season or something like that but there was there was a period where where he was playing very very well I’m sure like let’s be honest Manchester United haven’t played good football for quite a long time quite a long time but when they did play good football there’s a lot of players that did look really good like Bruno Fernandez looked really good Luke Shaw did look good rashford did look good that’s but that’s when Manchester United is playing as well as a team I think what happens is when Manchester United play badly as a team everybody turns on different players when a team plays really well and I’ve watched other teams play really well and everybody rates every single player in that team and when a players A team’s playing badly they they slate every single player in that team forgetting that it’s a team sport so I think you look at that and go like Manchester United been playing badly recently but it’s not all that all the players are terrible this is a good point though Bath’s got to pick you up on one saying you’re keeping Luke short a player that hasn’t played in two years and you’re booting Bruno the only current player that has performed over the last five yeah In fairness I have a massive agenda against Brun know I I don’t I don’t have an agenda against sure you know I’m I’m I’m I’m completely biased against Bruno like I you know like Luke Shaw at the end of the day sort of um you know I I think him him if he performs well it impacts the team more positively than if Bruno does um but I I wouldn’t necessarily agree with okay you can look at a fiveyear period and say that Bruno out of everyone’s the only players performed but if you look at a smaller um time frame the last 18 months he’s not really performed that well do you agree with like the rashford agenda then I know you’ve got Bruno agenda that’s that’s that’s your issue not yeah that’s fine yeah I’ll take the issue don’t worry that’s F that’s fine isn’t it but you’re willing to have your mind changed okay it’s it’s a gender driven bath it’s a gender driven so don’t look at logic in this it’s like Owen’s happy to admit it’s bias and he won’t change his mind what what do you think about rashford then because people tell me he’s only had one good season but looking at he he’s hit over 20 goals at least three year like at least three seasons I’m not saying he’s been good every season but he’s had three seasons where he scored more than 20 goals and do you think people like someone recently told me that he was worse than Overtown which made me laugh a bit that he’s not been playing well but there’s no if you look at in play there’s no doubt that he’s got qualities and you you can look at other players in the team and you can you can find a lot of examples where players have played badly in a lot of matches like you any any player on the team actually has played quite badly over a long period of time but do you think it’s do you think people take the criticism too far like I think Gary Neville recently has actually apologized for some of the things you said because you know they were they were told they could go on holiday with their families and they did exactly just that do you think it goes too far like your your Bruno agenda goes slightly too far maybe yeah no I’ll be willing to take that I think I think um I think with Bruno it’s kind of is one which like I don’t want him to fail I don’t want him to fail I I just I just feel like he annoys me at times and I think he’s not like where we are in the it’s sort of a mixture of everything really but with Rashid I think that he’s sort of a player which if he wasn’t from the r Academy I do agree that he would have been dropped and not really get much game time at all um I do think I don’t I do take umage with the fact that if people have said he’s only had one good season I just think that’s not true um like he’s I think when he first joined Under vanal You could argue that the season after and Mourinho was a great season for him um and he was getting better year on year and then it kind of stagnated but it culminated him in getting 30 goals in a season on 10 half and you know that’s probably Peak rashford um numbers wise anyway but I think there’s there’s always been a player in there but he’s he’s now kind of a confidence player um and he’s just not confident at the moment um yeah there’s probably a time frame where eventually you have to say Well when is that going to come back and he’s he’s obviously not he’s not a young player anymore like he’s not a for for a Winger this season this season he looked like he’s was playing better he said there’s a couple of games where he set up a few chances xerx who couldn’t finish them and he also scored a few goals I’m not saying he was he was great but if you put him as a striker and you put Holland as a striker both for 20 games who you think is going to get the most goals because H’s supposed to be carrying the line and I know he’s a young player but at the moment this is the squad we got probably I don’t see us buying a striker in January is is a good it’s a good question because I think Holland’s Got like obviously he being a striker like by trade he’s obviously got the kind he’s obviously got youth on his side he’s he’s he’s he’s got that kind of you know positional awareness more than potentially rashford has but rashford’s obviously done it for United like at up top like he’s he’s done it better than holand has at the moment um so it’s an interesting question it’s going to be interesting to see what AM thinks I think am will look at a player like rashford and think like you you fit into my system 100% I don’t know whether he’ll think that about hland unless he’s sort of hoping he’s in a bit of the um is it garez I don’t know how to pronounce it to be honest but sounds right that kind of mold holand potentially falls into so it’d be fascinating to see what he does I think rash I would love to see rashed and hyen in the same team to be honest but whether that’s possible in this system I don’t know but I think they both confident each other put rashford in yeah put rashford instead of ahed and then yeah I think you could you could make a case for both of them to be honest but I think I would love to see them both together I think that’ll be interesting um and then you could potentially have Ahad as a kind of you’re talking about Squad depth then you’re talking about you know bringing on a play who’s going to make it I mean we haven’t even mentioned really gacho as well um you know in this if you’re going to have rash then you know in the in that position where rashford is you know potentially you’re going to have um you’re going to have an issue where Amad and gachu are wanting to start as well so it’s going to be it’s going to be you have to play quite well to keep the spot in that little position there I think uh behind the striker so yeah hopefully that’ll kick a few people out the ass yeah you know everybody says H will cook in this system should never play a 20-year old as a holdup Striker that he’s he’s got the best opportunity I think there’s a few Skeptics wondering whether he’ll actually be good enough but it’s it’s just because we signed a striker that quite young and hadn’t really ever been a clinical goal scorer until he joined Manchester United um looking at this I think he put rashford and he’s got to be at least close to the front I don’t think is useful as a wing back but yeah hold maybe that maybe that’ll help bam says good point Cole you’ve left out our top goal scorer and our only England International in Kobe right well yeah I mean I don’t know what to say to that really but I mean at the same time I think I would have I would have I would have Mayu in there probably over casemiro but I think he’s coming back from a knock isn’t he so I think May’s coming back from I don’t know Casmir is actually quite good recently and I think maybe his um attacking play is a bit underrated I think his passing range is underrated yeah that pass over the top I think he makes quite well what do you think like in terms of our first substitution is that some people were saying that am might quite happy to make substitutions at halftime just to change the way we play which I was thinking that’ be quite refreshing rather than taking off someone that’s got a goal and an assist against Porto and then making us lose the game yeah is underrated in terms of I think we we probably like Casmir will move on and we’ll get a younger player but I think Casmir in terms of when we got like an aerial threat I think he’s like pretty good in the air I think also some of the passing I think in terms of setting up the few goals we scored this season he looked quite good but what you think about this question oh well I mean speaking of big bets he could win a lot of money probably um on this one but I would hope that he was pragmatic in his substitutions um I think earlier I I think I think ips switch is going to be a difficult game I reckon I reckon maybe 55 I’ll go for to be honest like like a bit early after half time give them 10 minutes and then say right we’re changing it but um I mean hopefully doesn’t come to that hopefully it’s sort of cruising and then he can make his substitutions but I don’t think this is the Premier League I just don’t think this is how that’s going to work I just feel like there’s there’s Jeopardy in this game 100 especially stoof that one and then watching Manchester United lose 5- nil to Newcastle but I’ve never watched Manchester United until recently lose 4-0 to like brenford or 4-0 to Crystal Palace I mean those teams are are not Elite World teams those teams let’s be honest we made them look good but they yeah they’re quite [ __ ] um head lost patience after the Champions League in the 7n the 70 was a big dent to be honest um but I blame the players more for that than tag only because it felt like the second half they just dropped their heads and didn’t really fight didn’t he make some like bad substitutions in that game though but it was one of those games where they had about seven shots and they all went in it bit like when we beat Roma 71 and roma weren’t a bad team because I think we drew the first leg 1-1 but we beat them 71 and it’s like every shot went in I think it’s just one of those every single shot went in the losing to Crystal Palace one was just just he put up a [ __ ] lineup and we got dominated from the first minutes to the 90th minute yeah and it was just abysmal but anyway um let’s finish on a positive ow that we got what what do you want to say that before we wrap up that’s positive um well first of all thanks on on uh I think yeah uh I’m excited I’ve got to be honest about just the whole change of like the the system I think that we we have to remember that we actually do have quality players despite the fact that it’s you know may not seem like it the last last couple years there’s genuine quality in our in our lineup when even when I look at that lineup like there’s goals in it there’s defensive stability in it there’s good um you know there’s good player Midfield in there there’s kind of you know you got the defensive aspect in Nate even casemiro but you’ve got you’ve got a manager that has an idea who knows exactly what he wants to do whether it’ll work or not but I think we need to get behind the team now I think we need to you know obviously we need to not blindly kind of just hope for the best but I think I think we we’re going to we’re going to we’re in an upward period because we have to be we can’t we can’t go worse from here we just can’t touchwood we can’t because 13th in the league may seem like we’re quite far away but we’re only four points off fourth and then suddenly you’re only sort of six or seven points off the top teams and then you’re you’re starting to dream really so I’m not saying we’re going to win the League this season far from it but I think we’re I’m going nil said something and it always stuck with me and he said you’re never as far away as you think you are You’re Never As Good As you think you are but you’re never as far away as you think you are and I think I think to be honest we we’re not as far away as we think we are and I think we’re about to get quite close so I’d say look forward to it to United fans to because we’re saying that and I think I think Andrew stopped watching after I start saying that I was too delusional because I was being optimistic I said look i’ I’ve been quite negative recently but you got to be optimistic now because a lot of things seem to be improving manager as well that’s changed though like the whole back back room like the whole thing underneath him as well and above him has changed I think that’s why we’re going to see a difference I think you’re going to see what happens when you have a manager who has an idea but not but a whole club that’s moving in the same direction you’re going to see how quickly things can change I think so that’s why I’m excited exactly I think if if we have a manager like Amarin we’ got him for two and a half years we’ve got another few transfer windows before you know hopefully he’s got those transfer Windows to put what he wants in place but we’ve got the people behind that can actually help him rather than hinder him because I always felt that with olle or with like Moyes or vanal Mourinho like the people weren’t helping him in olle as well they weren’t helping him really they were just they were getting players in but they weren’t getting the right players they were never really building a team at all so this is going to be the final question tonight it’s quite a good one and he said um which manager like you got quite a few to pick from now post Fergy which manager would you most likely follow into battle with I think he’s got to be Jose to be honest I think Mourinho he’s so good at creating that Siege mentality anyway that’s kind of his bag but just I can imagine him giving a rousing speech and saying you know this is going to make you into a superstar or something like that along the lines and just yeah I’ve been like if if if you get on the right side of him you’d run through well you’d run through a battlefield for him so yeah I I think Mourinho I think honoral mention would probably go to someone like um oh who I give an honorable mention to I quite like Dolly I know I think he he had the I mean rude you know vanro I thought of vanro because vanro was there for such a short time but I think because oie got like really close didn’t he with a couple of second places couple of cut finals I think he had the players on side as well but it was I don’t know it was a interesting one I think Mourinho was a good shout though because I think Mourinho was like a I think with Mourinho you look at him and the players knew this is a guy that just wants to win that’s his main objective he’s like a winner and I I wish Mourinho had joined Manchester United as soon as Fergie left because I remember talking to my family at the time saying look I’m Maro just I even thought he was like trying to position himself career-wise so he was ready for Manchester United to to get him and I think you know like last couple of years when he was was he Real Madrid manager when Fon was manager when Nanny got sent off I thought he was then kind of position himself to be friendly with Fergie and yeah Moyes was just such a bad appointment in terms of like getting someone that’s got to we could have like got a Serial winner in and just like carried on winning I feel yeah no that’s that’s that’s thing I think Mourinho probably came at the wrong time to be honest but um I know I know Bobby Charon didn’t really want him at the club so it was kind of yeah but I like Mourinho I don’t know I know went a bit toxic at the end but Mourinho is pretty much he reminded me of like some opinions I’ve got where you if players are bad Mourinho was just like look we need to replace
