hello everybody good morning and welcome to the United stands I’m Mark goldbridge and this is your latest Manchester United news as Ruben amarim looks to do a double Midfield January swoop uh we’ll also be talking about an incredible Story coming in about uh Marcus rashford apparently he’s going to take up MMA and boxing it’s in the sun um uh we’re also going to look at man United’s potential lineup uh tomorrow and quite an interesting article in the Manchester Evening News actually don’t worry prur isn’t in it um it’s three journalists giving their lineup tomorrow now I don’t really put a lot of weight on their lineup or my lineup or your lineup we’re all a community here but is interesting when you look at the many different lineups and I was reading yours the other day just on how many people have so many different ideas about what we should be doing tomorrow also big big big watch along later on that football which is Manchester United related um that’s football this afternoon we’re doing Arsenal forest and Man City Spurs but whilst watching those games we’ve got live coverage of RB salzburg’s game uh against lask that will be on that football you’ll be able to watch the game with me on YouTube we’ve got exclusive rights to do that the interesting thing is solsburg we’ll talk about it a little bit later have got some young players coming through uh is it gorner daath in the Midfield and Glock the attacking Midfield they both been linked to man united and a few others as well so don’t miss that at 3:00 today massive watch along but let’s get into Manchester United United this double Midfield swoop involves Edison and it involves Chris rig um rig at Sunderland Edison at Atlanta I feel like I feel like a lot of what we’re talking about you know I’m not saying we we’re getting sourced information that’s not what I’m saying at all but some people act like they do get sourced information and unless it’s onstein or Romano it never really seems to come to pass does it um the names we get mentioned never get never happen Ed am’s not going to have any control of transfers when he does and uh the glazers will end um yeah you know there’s all sorts of um things going on around inos and the glazers but the reason I say that is that I have said consistently on this show and let’s just read you the story coming in from py goal again in Germany and he is saying Manchester United a discussing and considering signing Atalanta midfielder Edison who is highly valued internally the club are looking for reinfor enforcements in his position possibly as early as January now this tallies with what we’ve probably been talking about I think for a year certainly on this channel I remember last March I put him in as a player that um Manchester United May well go for last March uh I like him um I know that Dan Ashworth really likes him he tried to take him to Newcastle last January um man united have been scouting him for a very long time at least 18 months this will be the Summer where Edison moves on um and we actually do need um to bring a midfielder in now what I’m finding really exciting at the moment is that you’ll get the negativity even I will jump on board and go it’s the January transfer window we won’t do that deal but in the last week alone we’ve heard about um brane uh Alonso Davies and now Edison in the space of a few days and January and and and the thing that excites me about it is is that as much as you would go well know that that won’t happen it is amar’s first transfer window and he has only got two and a half years on his contract to earn another one so you can’t sort of go Let’s ignore the January transfer window if an opportunity comes up and also those opportunities for me are very similar to what happened with Bruno Fernandez whereby we did the deal in January because we didn’t want to waake until the summer where other clubs might be better equipped and what I mean by that is if you can find the money in January you will jump the queue of a lot of other clubs because they will be waiting for the summer and that’s what happened with Bruno so I think with Edison there is definitely a player there that we have really looked at for a very long time and um it’s interesting that we are being mentioned in relation to January uh in that sense um we’ve got a quote coming in from uh Ruben am about Mason Mount as well which I’m going to bring in in a moment but basically amim saying I’ve got to tell you I love that kid you can look in his eyes that he wants it so bad and this is the most important thing for me so uh you know that’s good if you’re a Mason Mountain fan Beth will be loving that this morning um but look I I think I I do think that uh just bringing it back to the transfer stuff we’ll talk about Mason mount in a moment then um yeah I think the Edison story is really interesting because it’s definitely placed in um reality um it’s definitely somebody man united are looking at and it’s definitely a position if we talk about the player mid 20s um I think he regularly does get called up for Brazil now uh he’s been very [Music] um he has been very um consistent in for Atlanta obviously they’re doing very well in in the Italian League he’s done well in the Champions League there are other clubs looking at him as well um and I think that what is clearly Happening Here is that Manchester United are readying themselves to make moves if they can it doesn’t mean we’ll get him by the way I’m not I’m not going to sit here and say oh 100% man united are going to get hold of uh Edison in January but I think what it is is that we’re looking at opportunities Chris rig at Sunderland who we’re going to talk about in a moment as well um is a young midfielder that Manchester United really are looking at prioritizing and you just get the sense that if if the if a deal comes up in January that can be done and we need to jump on it we will do that um this is a new Manchester United and I can’t explain how encouraging that is because we’ve had January transfer windows with the glazers where John M will come out and say we don’t like doing business in January well this is very different Dan Ashworth is wasn’t here then U barard wasn’t here then Willcox wasn’t here then favil wasn’t there then Blanc wasn’t here then brailford wasn’t here then all these people weren’t here then and also this is am Rim’s first opportunity to get players in and I think that if you’re looking at this player in the summer and you can get him in the January then why would you not make that deal so I think just keep an eyee on it because we’ve had bran weight as I said talks in the last couple of weeks alons Alonso is a player we really like um and Edison is a player that we really like as well and reports coming in last night that Manchester United are seriously looking at M making a move in in in January uh I’d be very happy with that I’d be very happy with that deal because I think longterm that double pivot is so important in an amim system and Kobe mayu’s 19 and agar is in his first season and casmiro is very expensive and well into his 30s now we don’t really have the um depth in that position I mean hope the likes of col are going to come through but beyond that there’s nothing there’s there’s no other holding midfielder coming through from the youth setup at the moment that’s anywhere near ready and colie is not ready yet so You’ basically got casemiro Mayu and agarte for two positions and and and that is not enough so I think man united looking for a midfielder is is is essential and um they’re going to want to go and get the best they can get and I think I think Edison’s a very exciting player and what encourages me is that I’ve been talking about this player for a very long time knowing that United have been scouting for a long time and knowing that Dan Ashwood wanted him at Newcastle it’s logical and people start talking about other names and maybe we will bring another name in but I think this is a very logical deal for Manchester United uh Ron says congratulations mark on your new place I’ve been busy with work lately so unable to watch the live streams are there any watch along alongs today yes 3:00 on that football Arsenal Forest followed by Man City Spurs and in the middle of that we’ve got live coverage of salsburg playing against lask um it’s the first step on to hopefully better things I mean we’re not going to get premier league right straight away but I like this idea of having a live game on our YouTube channel that people can watch uh it’s very hipstery by the way I mean just talking about salsburg for a moment man united two players I know that we’ve been linked to in the last six months salsburg are very much a hipster Club RB solsburg they’re a feeder to leig sometimes they’re a feeder to other people uh you know name the names that started off at salsburg I think mané started there didn’t he or was um there are plenty um plenty um cesco is another one um but I can’t g duth g duth the the holding midfielder there young player he’s expected to go on and be really good he plays for them uh is it Glock or Gluk who uh is an attacking midfielder we’ve been linked to as well um there’s a few there is a few so it’d be nice to have that on obviously the featured games are going to be the Premier League games but we will have that live coverage for you to watch while we’re updating you on everything else um Holz Harland was there there as well yeah so yeah looking forward to that um MMA takedown says if it works Mark Neville will say it was his idea yeah yeah the thing is Neville could probably get the Premier League rights probably owns them um food says sorry if I missed mad we all have no idea who will starts um um yeah I I want to just just talking about the lineup I’ll talk about that in a moment um I think that in relation to Manchester United tomorrow we’ll talk about that in a minute but um I just want to talk about this other story that’s coming around Chris rig because we were we’re talking about the Midfield aren’t we and this so we spoke about Edison there let’s talk about Chris rig doing fantastic things with Sunderland Sunderland doing fantastically as well I think this is a really interesting article because it’s come from the chief sports writer of the northern Echo who covers um Newcastle middles in Sunderland so Chief sports writer Scott Wilson of the northern Echo who covers Sunderland as part of his job says sources claim the man united hierarchy regard Chris rig as the most appealing young domestic talent that could potentially be available and are ready to test sunland’s resolve to hold on to him we have been linked to this player a lot I’m not going to sit here and lie to you and say I know a lot about him but again uh this is another show of ambition from Manchester United and I don’t think it’s going to let up we speak about Edison we speak about bran w we speak about Alonso Davis I think you’ve got to throw Chris rig in there and although it’s really difficult to predict who inos will move for because they’re very good at you know keeping that very very close and cartic says what about Joe Bellingham um I I agree with you man united on top I think Edison is underrated um I’m excited by these the players that we being linked to now I know branth weight doesn’t necessarily um excite everybody but I think there’s a good player there I think Alonso Davis is very exciting I think Edison is very exciting and he’s a player I’ve quite I’ve liked for a long time um but I think with regards to um Chris rig again these are the sort of players that you want to develop you want to bring them in at 16 but sometimes they might be at other clubs and get their chance there and you’ve got to look at these sort of players because um the ambition and the talent is there and you got to jump on this as quick as you can because if you don’t he’ll end up at Brighton or somewhere like that so again I’m just we can throw as many names as we want I I’ve thrown four at you there Edison rig uh branway Alonso Davies but the the Intriguing and exciting thing for me is and don’t forget nipan as well another attacking midfielder who’s apparently going to be in the in England for the next couple of weeks um in December talking because the the Norwegian League stops until March talking about his future man united apparently going to have talks with him so I think that it’s really interesting about I don’t think there’s a shortage of players that we’re potentially looking at but the big thing and the exciting thing I suppose will be will we move on any of these in January because it feels to me like United and S Jim are in a position where they they they want to get moving uh they don’t want to be slow and therefore um I think that what you want is to be in a situation whereby will they make a move in January and and I just don’t any reason why they wouldn’t and we’re looking at history but the history is the glazers you’ve got a new manager you’ve got a team that needs work and you’re on a fast track to try and get back to maybe get top four as soon as possible why would you go let’s wait until the summer so I don’t think they will um I think they will move quickly and I think that there are a lot of options there for them now they’re not I don’t think they’re going to buy Edison rig and branway all in January they might only get one but the fact that there’s four or five players is encour enaging I mean Alonso Davies won’t be signed in January but he might sign in January because he can speak to any club outside the Bundesliga in January because his contract’s up in the summer so I’m very encouraged by by what’s going on and look it’s not my job to go don’t get Rig get Edison or or or or don’t get Edison and rig get branway it it’s Manchester United’s job to get the right sort of players in and I think it’s going to be very interesting to see who they go with I really really do uh we’ve got this story in the sun about Marcus rashford it’s a bit of a light-hearted story well they probably think it’s serious journalism we’re going to take the piss out of it but uh apparently Marcus rashford is going to take up a new sport to keep in top condition and that’s going to be MMA or boxing I mean apparently man united are okay with it as well sounds brilliant doesn’t it I mean there’s not much chance of you injuring your leg doing MMA is there not much at all I mean it’s not it’s not only a sport where you kick people you can put them in ankle locks and all sorts yeah I’m sure man united are absolutely over the moon but we’ll read that in a moment um morning home everyone I hope everyone’s well says SK I know we need to keep our pants on but the amam interview was exciting watching the training was great too and jumbo says inos need to use nce to develop our youngsters uh Steven says you’re a YouTube Legend I watched him a few times he’s different gravy says Robert McCormack I think he’s talking about rig and TV right news is absolutely Sterling well done uh ke yeah we’re very excited very excited to try that out later so thank you everybody who will be tuning in for that this afternoon um let me talk to you about this quote that’s just coming from uh Ruben amarim in from amarim he says this about Mason Mount and um I mean look it’s a it’s a direct question um there’s a few questions that he’s been asked about uh and and and this is what he’s had to say I mean look this is what he said about Roy Keane he was a massive player I like players with character it just wasn’t just what he did on the pitch but also his influence off I hope in the future we have players like Roy Keane I mean amarim just seems to be watching the United stand and listening But ultimately he’s not watching the United stand he’s just very in tune with what and you want and I think that’s that’s that’s the bottom line isn’t it so you know that’s very nice but in relation to Mason Mount he said I’ve got to tell you I love that kid you can look in his eyes that he wants this so bad and this is the most important thing for me look there are many of you that like Mason Mount and I’m not somebody that doesn’t like Mason Mound I never really understood why we um bought him I never understood why we gave him the number seven shirts I still see a lad in a Chelsea shirt that was very talented he’s a Chelsea for me because that’s where he played his best football not man united the challenge for Mason Mount is I’m sure he’s a nice lad um and um I feel that um yeah I feel like he’s a a good player with um with a lot of talent but I’m not sure how how we sort of take it to the next level if he can’t stay fit um I feel that I’m just trying to get my words out here so amarim saying I love that kid I can see it in his eyes that he wants to be a good player I don’t I’d argue that with anybody I don’t I wouldn’t expect anything different ten hog said the same he was obsessed with him um at Chelsea I wasn’t sure about Mason M I thought oh you know bit overhyped and then for two years I thought he was absolutely brilliant I got it so I there is definitely a really good player there and I’m a hypocrite if I say that there isn’t there is a really good player there but I’m telling you it doesn’t matter whether am thinks he’s a great kid it doesn’t matter whether I say he’s talented or you say he’s talented we all know the elephant in the room um and it’s the same elephant that Luke Shaw’s got it’s injury the the kid’s been here for over a year and he’s had about a million injuries the rumor is that he’s got some sort of pelvic problem which could be a career Ender a few years ago but they manage it now I don’t know whether that rumors true but it sticks in my head that basically we’re watching Mason Mount and seeing if he can last and honestly I don’t really care about whether he’s a good player or not I we’ve we’ve been down this road with Phil Jones like s Alex Ferguson spoke about Phil Jones and Duncan Edwards like he and and look who doesn’t trust s Alex Ferguson so maybe Phil Jones would have been a brilliant brilliant Center back but injuries destroyed his career and I’m not going to put any time into a player that’s just not going to be fit so for me Mason Mount whether he’s good enough or not I don’t care he’s got to stay fit we can’t we can’t play another sympathy vote of a player that and look he’s never really played for his Azie so maybe he will start tomorrow may maybe he will start tomorrow Jose says he needs time he will get time if he can stay fit I don’t expect him to start tomorrow and play like he did for Chelsea but what he has to do is is is get in the team and stay in the team for five months and if it takes him five months to show that he’s good enough for Man United that’s fine I don’t expect him to hit the ground running but what I don’t expect is him him to be fit in a month I don’t think he’s going to stay fit um and and and we can encourage all we like and if and if amarim can and Mo and mount can stay fit then we’ve got a really good player but he does play with a lot of intensity he does have talent even the small amount of minutes we’ve seen him play for under 10 hog he really show that um ability but or potential or whatever you want to call it but this is not a conversation about whether he’s good enough I I mean this is a he’s won the Champions League he he started for England a lot he was one of Chelsea’s better players we spent 555 million pounds on him with a year left on his contract he’s still only 25 this is not a player that I actually have concerns about in relation to technicality or ability I’m just worried about his injury record and um I think that’s to me is the biggest thing um that that concerns me so yeah look maybe maybe maybe am thinks he is a great player I know ten hog thought he was a great player but you’re not you’re you’re nothing if you’re not fit so that’s the thing I I think with Mason Mount and Luke Shaw I’m in agreement that both are really good players and I actually do like both players but I’ve sort of reached the point where I just don’t trust them to stay fit and I know that’s really harsh because they won’t be getting injured on purpose but availability is the best ability in football and it doesn’t matter how good you are if you’re not I mean look at Neymar for the last year he’s still I believe one of the best players in the world but he’s he’s no better than Harvey Barnes at the moment in fact Harvey Barnes better than Neymar because he’s available and and that’s the thing there’s no point talking about the talents of a player if they’re not available you’re no good to me if you’re only available two months out of nine I rather would have Harvey Barnes who actually you know ain’t a bad player to be fair um Glen C says after the show the other day would’ like to see you do a watch along with Beth and Ricky one day the ones you did with uh will was good it now here it is so here we go so it’s in the sun straight away it’s in the sun Marcus rashford taking up new sport to keeping top condition for Manchester United the Manchester United an England Striker has been working out in the boxing gym he’s also had sessions with a trainer Who special specializes in MA Tai a form of martial arts favored by cage fighters um in um aour said Marcus has really started to get into fighting in recent years he’s always enjoyed watching boxing with his mates but he’s also developed an interest in nma MMA as the sport has become more popular the club know and have got no problem with it they just think it’s great extra Fitness training um what’s a Croc of absolute I mean we we all need a little bit of um um we all need a little bit of light-heartedness but again look there’s been a lot of talk about rashford going to America this week there was the Belfast stuff last year you’re never going to get away from that but this sort of stuff is just you he must wake up in the morning and go oh my God what you know what a load of crap and the reason I’m bringing it in is because people some people will read that and will’ll see it as a reason to take the piss or um you know have a pop at him there’s just no way that Marcus rashford is going into a boxing ring or an MMA cage or doing any type of physical altercation in any way shape or form it might be Shadow Boxing and but you know even even doing big kicks like I’m I’m thinking about you know kickboxing Etc like that that’s not the best thing to be doing as a football player like you could you could pull your groin you could pull a hamstring um yeah just just I read it this morning and I thought absolute bollocks I mean a lot of footballers aren’t allowed to play golf in season because the twisting and turning could cause you a problem these are Elite footballers paid hundreds of thousands of pounds a week and you think some well maybe the reason we get so many injuries then maybe maybe you know actually just realize maybe it is true maybe this is why we get so many injuries like you know Harry MaGuire says to the man united Fitness team I’m going to go Bungie jumping today good good enjoy yourself yeah enjoy yourself and uh Luke Shaw walks in and says uh yeah I’m I’m going to I’m going to go um base jumping today yeah yeah oh great sounds absolutely brilliant really really good and uh then rashford comes in and says I’m G to get in a cage with the 10 MMA fighters and let them beat the out of me brilliant absolutely great as long as you enjoy yourself I mean it’s um you can’t be doing that it doesn’t happen you’re not allowed to do it like the the way they ma well I don’t I presume we do this at Manchester United but the way they look after players in reality you just this wouldn’t be happening it wouldn’t be happening at all uh Jack Dickerson says Marcus watching too much Cobra Kai um yeah I mean I just find it hilarious that people actually think that footballers are out there you know um doing Laser Quest or you know line dancing or anything like that that that it’s just it’s just nonsense and I think instead of trying to ignore it sometimes we’re better off just exposing the laughability of it and protecting our players from this sort of bollocks I mean look getting on a plane to America we’ve had the debate about that but Marcus rashford taking up kickboxing or MMA or whatever he’s just completely notab bollocks and don’t fall for it laugh at it rashford is trying to be acrobatic like harand uh says hyans um and maybe Anthony’s been taking up tap dancing lessons as well says Tris Fitz thank you very much um and Robert says imagine rashford doing boxing or MMA this is a guy who pulls out of tackles well I think we see this is what I mean happy happy 39 months Mark says Sam Sergeant off to the Everton game next week cannot wait to see how we look enjoy that Sam of course talking about how we’re going to look um I just want to read you this actually it was on the Manchester Evening News uh and it was three journalists who basically gave their lineups for tomorrow so I’m just going to read them one of them uh Anana yoro deit Evans mazra ahmmad as the wings agarte Mayu and then Fernandez gacho rashford weird that Johnny Evans is in there weird that rashford’s up front you might say uh another one when Anana deit Evans Martinez mazra Deo agarte Mayu Ahmad Bruno rashford I don’t mind that one apart from rashford up front but the rest of it is not too bad uh and then the third one Anana deit Evans Martinez Delo mazra aart Mayu Ahmad Bruno Rasmus again there’s only one and that one that’s a bit weird to me which is Johnny Evans I mean look we’ve done the preview but for me I don’t get the rashford up front thing and I don’t get the Johnny Evans at Center back thing um look he might I can’t predict what he’s going to do tomorrow but for me Anana yoro delit Martinez if you’re using your wing backs Delo mazra I like Mayu and agarte but it could be casmiro Amad Bruno Rasmus up front which means rashford Gano Mount ciry Anthony one of casmiro Mayu orar on the bench um I think we’re going to see a very very very strong bench tomorrow but as I said I I think I’m not going to be surprised if Marcus rashford starts up front tomorrow um and what you don’t want to do if you Amor him is look no one’s turning on Amor him but what you don’t want to do is take the Shine off straight away and if he starts rash up front there are people in this fan base that will instantly be like I want am to do well but what why is this happening and I hope I hope that that doesn’t happen because I don’t want amim to we know what will happen there will be a cycle of everything’s shiny at the moment but the more dirt the shine disappears if you know what I mean and look if he picks rashford tomorrow and rashford does brilliantly well that’s great but I just don’t think rashford’s is strong ER I’d rather seeing him in behind the striker I don’t think he is a striker and I don’t think he ever will be a striker um I don’t think he’s got the physicality or the ability to play with his back to goal or run the channels selfishly unselfishly um I want I I genuinely want to see Rasmus or xery given a chance up front because that’s what we bloody bought them for and ten hog never gave them any service so if we’re going to put rashford up front for service I’m like you must be fuming if you’re Rasmus and xery because they just they haven’t had the service I’d put rashford in behind with Bruno if you’re going to want to start rashford but obviously that means you’re probably going to leave out uh ammad um rashford hasn’t Rasmus hasn’t trained yet says Joel well I don’t know why he wouldn’t have trained yet I mean I I don’t know what the situation is with martinez um I don’t know what the situation is with um Rasmus or anyone else like that but um look maybe we have got injuries I don’t know but I mean you you could play xery as the nine I’d rather play xery as the nine than rashford because what’s rashford got that xery’s not got people talk about Pace but apparently he’s lost the yard of place um so you know uh hi Mark I hope you’re very well very excited for the game tomorrow and see an identity at last do you think it will last though says Rudolph the red I hope so I hope so um John says halbe John halbe says Luke sure doesn’t do any uh sporting activity he just acts as a crash dummy for cars uh okay okay um I actually don’t know on that one xery won’t be a number nine in my opinion in this system says guy Forks uh we need to stop having two goalkeepers on the bench says solid Blake well yeah I think that that that always was a personal I just don’t I mean I think Ole started that and then um it continued didn’t it with um with ten hog that disappear that will disappear because tomorrow we will have a lot of players that can play on the bench so yeah um if you’re tuning in make everything else um man united plays which tomorrow at half past 4 Transfer News Edison all I’m going to say about this is this this is the fourth transfer story this week about man united looking to do something in January and whether it’s Chris rig Edison brane Alfonso Davies all of those logically make sense in January um will we push forward with one of them in January or will we wait until this summer uh I think United the re I suppose the question is if someone was to say to me Mark why are we being linked to them in January not the summer I think it’s about two things one a desire to move forward as quickly as possible without making mistakes not being desperate but if this is a player that we want and we can get him why wait till the summer I think that’s one reason and another reason is competition if this is a player that we want and we can get him in January why wait till the summer when other clubs might be better equipped to Fighters for him as well for example Edison if we can afford Edison in January but Newcastle can’t but in the summer they can and Spurs can and somebody else can then you have that Bruno Fernandez scenario where we went for him in January knowing that other clubs couldn’t get him in January but would go for him in the summer so I think that is um that’s probably two of the reasons that why we’re trying to do it one thing we have is a very strong bench in this formation says KC yeah and I I would I would say that I don’t think I don’t think when the team comes out tomorrow anybody should be losing their about it um you might not be happy about it and that’s absolutely fine you know you might not be happy but I would I would urge caution on how you react I mean look I think Ahmad will start but if he doesn’t and we see fre Amad it’s dangerous because you’re automatically going against what the manager decides and we have to trust the manager I mean I don’t want to see rashford playing up front I want to see him playing in behind the striker but if he plays him up front then it’s the manager isn’t it and look I wanted ten hog to do well he sacked himself every manager that comes in has to make the decisions because ultimately in two and a half years if they get sacked they walk out the door so we we’ve got to back this manager on what he does tomorrow and I think there’ll be maybe two or three positions I’m not 100% I wouldn’t have done that but amarim has said the right things he’s spoken about the right things and um I trust him to pick the right team but even if he doesn’t pick players tomorrow that I would pick it doesn’t mean that they won’t play against Bodo glimp it doesn’t mean that they won’t be on after you know 55 minutes um we don’t know how quick he’ll make his substitutions we don’t know how fit everybody is so I I don’t think that tomorrow necessarily is his best 11 it might be the best 11 for that game around what he knows at that point but next week in training players that missed out might suddenly react to that and be like chomping at the bit imagine if rashford plays up front and Rasmus is on the bench rashford does okay but then Rasmus does really well in training and then he gets the spot so there’s all all sorts of stuff and let’s not count out xery um but I agree with peaceful Med mediation holand is better he protects the ball better and runs a lot xer he doesn’t
