what you think we just get your initial thoughts on the game felt like a game of two OBS on our behalf I thought first half um you know I thought we we played quite well to be honest I thought we were a better team um deserved to be in front disappointing to give away a soft goal especially when we one nil up and and playing well um yeah a bit of a mistake there and but still went in 2-1 and and you know I thought we were definitely well in that game and probably on top and then second half came out of the block slowly Adelaide made some changes and started playing very direct and um we just didn’t do with it to be honest how do you count for that I how scoring quickly after H look they they committed a lot of numbers forward and bombed the ball forward really quickly and then uh you know phami who was a fresh sub got out our at our fullback drive into the box and um you know he’s delivered a great cross and they’ve had a good moment and then from there I felt like we lost our way a little bit lost our shape uh we had to change things to try and get back into the game um then we had a little spell where we started to create a few chances of our own but didn’t take them so yeah second half was disappointing the record was four losses the season but did you see Improvement today in that first half sort definitely in the first half like it was it was a big step forward for us a lot of intent um created some really good chances played some good football um so there’s there’s a lot to take out of that um obviously disappointing to lose you know the opening four games but I would say that uh they’re difficult games if I’m honest Orland the way you know brand new club Sydney FC at home in the middle of Champions League Good Side Melbourne Victory away adelade in form um and you know in in a lot of those games we’ve been very close and very competitive so fallen short um you know which isn’t good enough and we need to improve but you know we’ll we’ll continue to build do you think away the games you think the team is far away from what see from perces that do there’s definitely some work to do um you know I think um it’s just about like you say putting 90minut performances it’s about staying in the game for longer periods and and making those moments count you know defensively we’ve conceded you know two goals twice in three goals so um three goals twice so it’s very hard to win games when you conceding that many goals and like the first goal is a good example it’s a very nervy moment from nothing and we kind of give them a goal and get them back in the game and then we start the second half and you know I’m not sure how many minutes but 2 minutes in um to concede like that it’s it’s a real momentum and confidence killer which uh when you have the the starts of the season had obviously confidence and momentum’s not really with us at the moment so what we have to do is stay real focused on the positives and and the and the things that we have been able to implement you know in the opening start to this season um and then look to to build on those performances and it will come the win will come you think it’s it’s about defensive issues is that by and large down to the fact that it’s a new defensive un 100% yeah look I think continuity it’s a it’s a new Squad with a a lot of change in continuity is a hard thing to build without you know competitive matches um and then to face you know some high quality teams you know with big spend uh early on in the season and then and then being on the end of some you know results that don’t really give the boys uh the confidence and the belief that they need and that’s a that’s a difficult start it’s a recipe you know it’s a recipe for people’s heads to drop what I like is that you know even at the end of the game we’re still pushing and chasing and there’s a lot of character in that dressing room and um you know what I can say is that everyone in our club and organization is working extremely hard and um we’ve improved week to week I think the first half there you know is a good snapshot of what we’re capable of against a really good side um I think adade will cause a lot of problems for a lot of teams and you know I look at the teams that we’ve played and they’re all up the ladder and they’re all doing really well so um I think when um I think when some games roll around and we get a a run of games at home um and we build our our momentum and our confidence then it will turn into into a much better situation for us just on that Rhythm you all to a tough matchup you have had do you think four losses is a fair reflection of where this team’s at well it is it’s it’s a direct reflection of where this team’s at um there’s no hiding behind that you know you are where you are in the ladder and that’s the way it is and um you know you don’t have to you don’t have to search too hard to find too many examples you look at the Mariners last year they were none from four and you know we all know how that how that played out for them uh and they were in a much stronger and better situation than what we were when they started last season it can happen when you have changes to to squads uh and you have a big turnover like we’ve had and we also are in the process of trying to fix a lot of things in our club um then it can happen but there’s certainly no excuses like I don’t I don’t stand behind uh you know I don’t try and line up excuses or reasons as to way where we are we play Four really good teams I think they’re they’re all very good sides if I’m honest um and we’ve Fallen just short in a couple of those games and um you know today there’s a lot of positives to take from that first half um and there’s some obvious areas that we need to be better with um ad see they were they aled their shape a bit in possession from the from their first three games were you surprised by that at all um and it seems though that your team dealt with that pretty well anyway I think the first half um you know like I said I think we’re the better side um obviously haven’t watched the back but that’s how it felt on the sideline I felt like we were in control played some really good football um and I felt we they had changed a few things from from previous weeks and I felt like we dealt with that well um they just fluctuate between a back four and back three and and they try and overload your Midfield with their Wingers and um I thought for the most part we dealt with it but second half when they were much more direct um and they started to really flood bodies forward quick fast players I don’t think we cope with that very well at all well you more are you more frustrated at the defensive stuff or maybe in the first half not making more of of that of that dominance my frustration is simple I’m frustrated purely for the result because that’s what you know our fans and our members want and that’s why we play the game is to try and get wins and get points on the board so my frustration before we talk about whether it’s conceding or or or or missing chances it’s it’s purely on the result we want to win and um you know when I know how hard my team’s working at the moment my staff and my players and and how much they’re banning together to fall just short today is you know really painful but you know we don’t uh we don’t stop and our belief uh doesn’t waver in difficult times if anything we just band together and keep working and uh the tide will turn and Young Jack seemed like you had some promising moments Off the Bench yeah great great um great for him to get some minutes and make his debut um such a young young talented Winger it was nice for him to have a few moments and show showcase his quality he’s got a a lot of areas in his game he still needs to improve but he’s a fantastic young kid and fantastic young player and it’s nice to be able to give him that opportunity to go out there and and showcase his talent you get sense this may team but it’s being yeah look I think so I think um he’s definitely been around a long time now he’s been in five six years and um you know he’s not an unknown quantity anymore and a lot of teams know that if if they do a good job on J then you know you can go a long way to you know to taking a little bit of our attacking threat in the game on the ball um but Jay’s clever and he still finds space and he still finds way to affect the game I don’t think he was that he’s best tonight if I’m honest but um you know he’s a fantastic professional fantastic player I think a little bit like for him as it is for the team if you have you know three or four off at this level with our with our Squad then it’s not quite going to be enough and we kind of need everyone to perform and um I just don’t think the the chemistry and the balance and the cohesion of the squad is as good as it can be um we’ve shown glimpses of what we’re capable without having to without being able to put that into long phases of play and you know and and turn that into results and so then confidence drops and the momentum’s not with you so I feel like Jay is probably it’s not so much about Jay it’s more so much about the cohesion of the team than anyone individual um and that’s my responsibility to to fix will that involve M changes you think uh look we we we make changes week to week depending on how the boys train and how they prepare and but you know I’ve got heches all the time because I’ve got a fantastic group of players that that um you know that train hard and give their best and and they are so you know we’ll wait and see what you know how we pull up first of all and and look at MacArthur and you know we’ll prepare well for that game and look to try and get our first win of the season
