uh right now as the third one on our list again North Carolina won on Friday night that was the win at Hawaii Dayton comes in out of the Atlantic 10 is an eight-point underdog on the neutral floor total here is 154 all right let’s begin with the thoughts here big man back to you you’re going to have an official play I’m curious what stood out on this one yeah we got to get a win here I’m going to go Dayton I didn’t understand this number I think it’s too high I have not been that impressed with Carolina and all we have is four or five games okay but when we look at some of the things Dayton do under Anthony Grant have done for years um this has been a very good offense so far they’ve been good at The Rim I think Carolina all year is going to struggle with that it’s been no secret this team isn’t very big there’s been no secret that losing Armando Bott was huge they didn’t go out and replac Armando Bott and Anthony Grant teams not only are good going at getting to the rim but they’re also good rebounding the basketball uh they do a nice job and have done a nice job over the years in defensive rebounding they’re a good defense I think they have the horses on the perimeter to deal with RJ Davis and if you can keep Carolina out of transition you’re going to do a nice job we know Carolina want to run Dayton is very good at denying transition they also don’t foul very much which is always key against Carolina too I just think there are certain things they do well I like Dayton they’re always a very good mid major program if you want to still call them that that’ be curious to know what you made this number Corby I think when the rubber meets the road on a neutral Court in Hawaii I think this is like a four or fivepoint game so if you’re G to give me eight I’ll take the points with Dayton uh but uh uh tail at your own RIS right now with me yeah right maybe they’re going the other way I’m not sure Corby thoughts including on the total you’ve talked about the loose rims Etc I I mentioned that they haven’t played this tournament consistently in this building uh a bunch all right so thoughts Corby on North Carolina Dae in the last game of this Monday night late night yeah it looks like I made this North Carolina basically seven like closer to six and a half than seven but um kind of agree with the spot Jeff’s taken also he’s getting a decent number I see eights across the board um so eight and a half all always good a few things first off the main reason I agree with Jeff is that there’s this there’s this little stipulation that I have in betting and it’s one of my favorite um Dayton has a player by the name of Posh Alexander I’m sure everybody’s heard Posh Alexander Posh Alexander is unique in one way every team when you’re making Tempo basically you say hey what does this coach like to do what is this current like scheme etc etc it does not matter if Posh Alexander is on your basketball team your Tempo is faster it doesn’t matter he’s done it to every single team he’s played at you go look at Butler Butler in 2023 under adada 277th in Tempo 2024 Posh Alexander is their point guard 120th in the nation in Tempo okay he leaves they’re back to 261 he like in transition to be a fast basketball team you have to have a point guard who likes to push the basketball um and if you’re if you’re not listening to the coach when he says slow it down it doesn’t really matter Posh Alexander out of the rim is taking off because he understands like we’re pretty we’re a pretty short team we’re not going to win in half court we need to win in transition it it’s not shown on paper yet Baylor uh not b Dayton hasn’t played anybody good enough to have to show it yet um but this this is per kenpom the 300th rank tempo of the nation I just don’t believe it uh the thing about that though is like I think it puts North Carolina into a pretty big predicament of like if you’re going to run with guards I think Dayton probably has an overall better set of guards if you’re going to run with a coach who’s going to play this game that you weren’t expecting I think Anthony Grant’s probably the better defensive coach so it would be the dog for me look hold on I watched the Hawaii game if you don’t think Carolina Carolina guards are going to run they got easily five layups maybe seven layups off a miss or off a quick inbound on racing to the other end so I don’t know that I’m going to go along if they’re not ready to run up and down with Dayton if I’m Dayton I’m concerned that it becomes too much like that Corby yeah I I don’t think that’s my worry North Carolina’s 20th in nation in Tempo 21st in nation in Tempo I’m saying more of like um if you’re going to run guard for guard like if you’re putting Dayton’s guards sprinting with North Carolina’s guards think Dayton’s guards are good enough to guard them in transition what’s happened with North Carolina is they haven’t had teams they can guard in transition they play a Hawaii team who has no guards now they’re going to finally see some competition um I took officially the over 154 and a half day North Carolina I think this game runs I just talked about Maui price being a little bit uh inflated but I still think this is a good number for an over all right uh again both of these guys are going on the record you mentioned Posh they have a posh they have an Enoch cheeks we got some names have an attakus on Dayton they have an attakus Schuler we got a posh an Enoch and an attakus and they’re all on display against North Carolina tonight so let’s go on the record on this game both handicappers are on it in Maui Jeff NAU says Dayton on the side as we lock him in plus the eight and a half on the BET us line and Corby Craig says let’s go over let’s go points points points and I don’t disagree here that North Carolina’s going to probably get to 80 they might even get to 90 in this game can Dayton keep up with them so he says over 154 A5 again this is the last game of the night depending on how long that Iowa State Auburn game goes this game should be on the floor somewhere around 11:30 eastern time it might be midnight Eastern Time 7 o’clock in in Hawaii with a 5 hour time difference it is the last game of Monday Night in the quadruple header two afternoon games and two games tonight in Hawaii and there’s a bevy of other games that we’re about to talk about I understand that and I get that but we’re we’re interested a bunch in the names like uh Yukon Auburn North Carolina Memphis Iowa state that are in this tournament out in the
