my man OG an anobi hold on one second hold on one second we talked about bridges being the Third option on this team I think it’s OG and Obi man whoa whoa the dog has established himself and again you know go back to a couple of years when he was being courted as a potential trade Target free agency coming rumors going he wants an expanded role and could he handle it is is his game built like that we didn’t see this and this year he’s been phenomenal man all year round I mean look towns has had phenomenal game so far this year Brunson as well but OG anoi at from a two-way standpoint to me has been the best player and most impactful on this team and what an efficient night man 40 points he was got getting it popping from three five of seven from downtown 16 of 23 from the field the mid-range was going out oh you got Jamal Murray on you destroy in the post deep post touches fast break demon getting the easy B out in transition the help defense on jic he did everything for this team tonight man absolutely phenomenal job by Og anobi our DraftKings player of the game I think I might need your spectacles from your’s past man because he looking like kawh Leonard out there he yo he’s looking great bro he’s looking great man the 16 of 23 is just insane at this point you know I talked about this I tweeted this not too long ago the fact that he we know what he is defensively the officient on offense is absurd at this point you know it’s not that like some guys can get 40 points by taking like 30 attempts you know what I mean and it’s like all right cool you got 40 taking 30 you got 40 taken 23 shots yeah you know what I mean he went five of seven from downtown three or three from the free throw line he just made it look way too easy and it’s the stuff that he looks like a complete player that plays his game you know it’s not like he’s doing anything flashy he’s not doing crazy combo moves he’s just cutting taking the open shots that’s given to him and when you watch him take the mid-range he’s able to use his shoulder for separation get his balance and knock him down and it’s just simple stuff there’s nothing complex to his game and yet there’s nothing complex to it and yet he’s performing at a high level and you can’t really stop it right and of course when you have guys like Jaylen BRS and Carl Anthony towns like you can’t double team everybody somebody’s gonna be left open and OG as great as he’s performing he’s not going to demand the type of coverage that Brunson or cat deserves but because of those guys on the team it’s given him this Runway to just perform at such a high level and if he’s going to continue to do this and look this the sample size continues to get larger and larger as the season goes on CP this is not just a blip this is not just a small Speck over ac across the season this is becoming who he is and that’s why I’m saying that you know we talk about Bridges bridges still struggling OG is establishing himself as that third guy Bridges is taking a demotion man OG saying I’m third option I’m here to stay don’t don’t don’t sweep on me the dog the dog is here man I mean you know the three ball super impressive and and you know we ran this down I don’t remember if this was Nick’s weekly or whatever the show was in the past it’s not the corners anymore no he’s above the break above the break pulling up catch and shoot knocking him that it’s not just the corners that he’s efficient in now he’s now moving to the above the break 3es there was a great article in the athletic that talked about his pregame routine and how he’s practicing this EV every night the mid-range The Cutting attacking the basket great job and and again you know he is the the primary beneficiary of these other teams putting their bigger Wings on Jaylen Brunson no Aaron Gordon tonight so the nuggets went with um he they went with uh Payton Watson to start the game off on Jaylen Brunson and then so that meant at times you were gonna have ogan and Obi with Jamal Murray guarding him even when Michael Porter Jr’s guarding him you know Michael Porter jun’s not playing no damn defense so this was a night for the dog to be showcased and man he he was brilliant man this was a beautiful offensive and defensive game two-way Force by Og anobi tonight man excellent night for him bro and CP you know when you go to Cen in the glass right now in years past he’s gone back from being considered a forward in his first four years in Toronto than the last three in Toronto who’s considered a wing now back in New York now I should say now in New York not back in New York but now in New York he’s considered a forward and this season right now he is in the 71st percentile when it comes from shooting non Corner threes he’s hit 23 out of 56 giving him 41% of all non Corner three in to even from the corners 15 out of 38 he’s knocking 39% from the corners 40% from downtown in total a 40% three-point shooter OG an anobi is wow when you have him knocking down shots like this man it just makes it easy for guys like car Thomson jayl Brothers to get into the middle of the Court yeah and you know he had such a great night I mean they had such a great night like we got to get to them we have to give OG his flowers but jayen Brunson and carlane Town’s got a lot to say too man we got a lot to talk about on tonight’s show actionpack when your defense is lackluster and that’s what it was on Saturday we all saw it the coach saw it the coach saw that their effort wasn’t good their Closeouts weren’t good and the times when they were good oh guess what they were right back in the game you know like when campaign gave him came in and gave them the spark this game from beginning to end from the opening tip the defense was ferocious you saw guys digging in deep on the driving Lanes two on the ball against nicolea yic always showing him a lot of attention anybody driving this Help The Help defense active hands deflections in the passing Lane like that is the next defense and that’s how but that’s how they need to play every night they were great tonight defensively night and day defensive defensively they were great and look it’s not that like yeah the Nuggets were missing shots stuff that they normally take as well right but when you look at the shot like the difficulty of shots that they had to take because of how the Knicks were playing defense tonight you have to take that into consideration on top of that even when they were getting to their spots they were highly contested Shots by the knck just because of how they were guarding them but CP there was something I was talking about to our guy Matt Brooks who covers the de nuggets for the actual nuggets and the one thing I was talking about and I know we’re going to talk about it later is Fast Break points I talked about it on the show nuggets we’re number two coming to this matchup as a team that likes to get out and transition and score the Knicks number five when it comes to stopping teams from scoring in transition Nicks were able to what flip the script on these guys they scored 24 fast break points and held the Nuggets to eight eight fast break points for a team that is ranked second in the league when it comes to scoring out transition and you know that they got guys who love to grab boards and just push the pace and stuff of that nature and so Kudos has got to go to this defense from stopping the nuggets in what they like to do best which is run the Open Court you got Christian Brun out there who likes to do that Michael Porter likes to do that Murray likes to do that the fact that they did that tonight against a team that is excellent at it has to be a testament to what the defense was doing tonight and so they just got to walk in and do this man they got to walk and do this like why can’t they do this every single night a team that is a team that is almost equal in them when it comes to offense how come they can do it tonight but not every single night yeah well you know hopefully Saturday night’s loss was one of those wakeup calls like you every there’s every every season you have those points in the season where it’s just like damn all right you know we got to adjust we got to tighten up hopefully Saturday’s loss was one of those where it’s just like look you know the ball movement on Saturday was good they weren’t knocking down their shots but the defense was abysmal and that’s why they got ran out the gym you got to play defense consistently every single night that’s just the bottom line like they cannot afford to take kns off they’re just not that good yet as a unit so they LED that way you know OG’s defense hard uh towns you know I thought Deuce campaigns defense Sims I thought Sims did a good job after coming out a little bit slow like like it has to be by committee man and they really got after it and played a really good uh brand of Defense so uh great job there they forced 11 nuggets turnovers led to 20 Nicks points so that was another good thing how you know how many of those were OG uh fast break dunks by himself you know how many of those fast break points and points over turnovers were were converted by Og maybe all 20 um so so yeah overall the defense much much better tonight now third game ball for me I’m going to go tie between Brunson and towns you know as I’ve I’ve always talked about it that when the Knicks have a bum night Brunson leads the way the next night what do we see in the first quarter attack mode in his bag splashing early Payton Watson forget about it you no match for him Brunson was in his bag and he and he got going and then he he got the big fella going we saw some two-man games between Brunson and towns towns coming back he was questionable tonight with the uh with the calf but then they started getting it going but man a 17 assist night for Jaylen Brunson 23 points scoring at will but also facilitating very well man 17 dimes man career high 17 remember it was a career high at 15 then he decided to tack on two more and now has a new career high uh 17 assists for for Jaylen Brunson he was just lethal in that first quarter you saw that he was all about his business I mean five of seven in the first quarter got you 12 points right off the rip working with OG who also got you 12 points five of six from the field Brunson was not giving any leeway into losing this one he knew what happened against the Utah Jazz and look to your point yeah when I W so I wasn’t able to watch it that night shout out to my mother-in-law shout out to her 60th birthday shout out to you Catherine uh I was I came back Sunday watched that game and I was like you know you watched it the first they were kind of doing their thing like as as they normally do offensively as you point out it’s defense moving the ball well attacking some shots weren’t falling that they usually take but still it was fine from what it looked like right and then tonight you saw that Brunson wanted to make an emphasis to just get to his spots get it going and that’s the stuff that you want to see from Brunson right the fact that yes we want him to pass more we want to be a facilitator all that stuff but sometimes the game doesn’t mean you have to start out doing that where you got to be the table Setter sometime the game calls for you to be the attacker to be the initiator right to be that you know I’m going to set the temple I’m gonna set i’m G to set the table by me being the aggressor and so that’s what he did tonight and that’s what you got to like and that’s the balance that you see from jayen Brunson and the development of his career right we saw the last two seasons he was heavily relied on as a score today this season he has to know how to toggle back and forth between being the table setter and to be the scorer tonight he said I’m gonna get it going I’m gonna have everyone focus on me and then everybody else is gonna gonna eat after I’m done right setting it up for everybody else and so for Brunson excellent excellent way to get this game going I mean look five of seven from the start gets you 12 points in the first quarter two or two from downtown and still gets you four assists in that first quarter man he was still doing the damn thing so shout out to Brunson man yeah excellent job by cat man and and really just setting the tone and allowing for his team to go out and respond after Saturday 17 assists part of that 45 uh that the Knicks had and and look like I said the the ball movement in Utah was good but they just W knocking down the shots tonight the ball movement was good and the shots were falling uh next part of that SEC that third game ball man Carl Anthony towns questionable coming into this game with a sore cap that he picked up in the Utah game you know maybe it’s the yic factor that he sees blood in the battle for big man dominance there’s a lot to be made we talked about yic aot on today’s NBA report leading the way in the MVP category butall Anthony towns had other plans uh Al with a 12 of 15 shooting from the night 30 points 15 boards four assists three steals Under The Joker tonight out dueling the MVP on his home court again since game seven of the Western Conference semifinals beautiful game by cat and and sometimes for me I like when the three-point attempts are lower because it just shows me that he’s Attack Mode he had beautiful touch around the rim he had floaters dropping cutting to the basket just an allaround good game inside the paint for Carl Anthony towns I just love the way he was operating tonight as well man excellent night for cat as well man I mean look when you trade for a guy like him you already know what he can do he can just put the ball in the hoop and when you watch the way how he got points you you talked about it right this wasn’t a guy who was necessarily knocking it down from three all night long he only took two attempts he he went two for two from downtown but he only took two attempts out of 15 attempts this guy was battling in the paint he was either driving finishing through contct against one two three Defenders and still getting to the free throw line as well okay so he was more than willing to get physical tonight and make sure this team not only swed down the game when need be but to make his presence known saying all right if I get the ball in the paint I’m going to make everybody collapse and I’m going to find guys when they’re open on the perimeter or if they’re cutting now cat did most of his damage in the second quarter right when you watch the way this game unfolded Brunson you know played seven minutes in uh about eight minutes in the in the second quarter but it was really cat who played the same about the same amount of minutes but it’s just different when you watch how the minutes that he had out there there was like an emphasis for his time period being on the court like no no no we’re going to get to cat now BR is going to take a little bit break we’re going to get it to cat cat’s going to get in Rhythm and now we’re going to change from a guy who’s scoring all three phases to a guy who’s going to just dominate in the paint now let’s see if you could stop this and then what did it do after you did that right and then switch it up in the second half saying all right we got to focus on C we gota go focus on Brunson and then you get OG just un just pouring it in in the second half man and so now and this is just like this is just the craziness and the beauty of what this offense and you know talked about at the beginning of season I think we were all on the same wave went that this is going to be a top three offense in the league and it’s just like this is just what it could do man you just there’s just so many ways they they can cut you and it’s just Unstoppable but Carl Anthony towns man the way that he attacked that second quarter I mean he went six of seven from the field h a 15 points and it was just highly efficient and battled man it was a r battle watching him in the second quarter shout out to him man for for for just knocking it on tonight yeah yic is a motivated factor and and call Rose to the challenge excellent game man 30 points 15 so you had your big two with double doubles towns a 15 rebound double double Brunson a 17 assist double double phenomenal eight of 14 for Brunson 12 of 15 for the big cat 12 of 15 e excellent excellent job by the Squadron there uh hang on out before before we keep going to the game notes five from the field but just giving this team the toughness man giving them the edge that they needed to play with attack in the basket facilitating getting the team out in trans it’s just hey the Josh Hart game that is the package the Josh Hart basketball package that is what you get on a given night transition playmaking attack in the rim drawing drawing fouls what what more do you want defense it’s perect from the night hit one hit one free throw there we go the thing is like you could look at Josh Hart’s like box score right and like I mean it’s awesome when five of five from the does all the gritty work man and you got to love his effort out there high energy guy and you got to love the no pun intendant the like he wears his heart on his sleeve but and when you you got to love that about him because you see the passion the competitiveness on a night toight basis and I feel like that type of person could be the momentum Factor when you know things start to go arai that he and it could be it could be a a gift and a curse right because if things start going horribly sometimes the emotions get best of you you get text and all that stuff and then it could take you out of the game but when things are going right or they’re closer and they’re in that in that battle somebody like him could just get you energized and get you focus focus and recalibrate the entire team another high altitude game against a great team MVP going for fourth MVP and they just came off of a great game against the Lakers on the second night of a back toback so this was a game the Knicks were going to have to rise up for and they did that um towns played when he was questionable welcome back D McBride played off with the patella the dece chance going crazy in the ball Arena and second half Mo for the most part he poured it in man 13 points f dece five of nine three of six from downtown six rebounds three assists and a steel and then you had campaign with 11 five assists three of six from the field and two of five from downtown ideally like this is what you want to see from this backup back court between Payne and Deuce this is what you want to see from these guys man absolutely great to see Deuce back and you know it just took him a little bit man you know he hasn’t he hadn’t played for like what I think they said 12 days or something been a been a while along those lines and yet after one half took two Two Shots e looked a little shaky second half he’s like you know what let me get back to what I did best five of seven from the field three of five from downtown gets you 13 points three rebounds one assist guarding guys 94 feet like he’s just back to doing his McBride thinks man McBride’s awesome man he’s our best point of attack Defender by far and you saw that and this is here’s the thing because you saw Bridges was guarding Jamal Murray in that starting five right he puts Bridges was still out there I forget which quarter it was tibs is like yo I’m putting McBride out there because there was there was a moment where Murray comes through shakes Bridges and you’re like come on man you got to give a little bit more resistance than that TI is like no no no get you get out there McBride you C some resistance and that’s what he did man after missing some after missing some time comes out here and still is that aggressive guy and then to talk about both talk about that second string back court with campaign I’m actually liking the parent ing of campaign with Jaylen Brunson and keeping Brunson off ball yeah to kind of hide him like even though he’s on the court like you still have to defensively you still have to make sure what he’s to be aware of him but allowing campaign to be that initiator and to be the primary distributor of that like when he’s out there gives Brunson like a little bit of a breather and still gives you that option to get some offense out there and I think campaign you know has really been playing a good stretch of basketball right here he’s knocking down timely shots especially when he’s left open I think he’s facilitating the the ball very well getting into the teeth of the defense the backup back court is looking pretty solid right now good that has a lot of potential uh to to bear fruit and campaign is is playing very well and so to see kind of dece kind of match that you could tell they want to bring that energy defense and then knock down some threes I think they they have some potential there so let’s let’s keep watching that um okay let’s get to the people man hear what the people got got hurt last year so you know I I thought they the the plan was good but I think he’s going to be one of those guys like backend rotation rehab and if if pay gets hurt or Deuce gets hurt again who knows like with Deuce’s situation is that something that flares up as the season goes every once in a while he’s going to need to sit out who who knows with that condition that he has so you know but I don’t think in in the when he come when he comes back I don’t think he easily gets minutes like tips is really leaning on eight players right now and that’s you know closer to play playoff rotation than anything else yeah precious will definitely be in that rotation just because of you know the valuable minutes that he can give you off the bench defensively he could be a little Versa he could be versatile depending on the matchup but I just like for me it’s just hard to believe that sham is going to get that much playing time when he I don’t think so if if and when he does return from his shoulder injury and I I get that he can always need threep Point more three-point shooting and he can offer that to you and maybe there’ll be some matchups where where he gets in but I just don’t see you see where he really impacts the game is by getting back out in transition by being in the back cor or on the wings stopping them helping stop them from being able to score and transition very well love the way that he attacked he was knocking down his shots shots was torching the Nets there was there was no bouncing around the rib now this was pure tonight and then setting his guys up man the 17 assists a career high that’s beautiful congratulations for him an efficient eight of 14 on tonight four5 from three two turnovers to the 17 dimes on the road that’s a 10 easy 10 Carl Anthony towns Carl Anthony towns in 34 minutes got you 30 points 12 of 15 from the field two of two from downtown four six from the free throw line and came out with 15 boards four assists and three steals Carl Anthony towns tonight man look we know that he could be the guy when it comes to a spread off spread out five offense he can knock down threes he and he’s been knocking down three efficiently but he hasn’t been called on to really do that every single night instead he’s been the guy battling in the paint going against one two three Defenders you saw it tonight man going against niika yic MVP this is a guy who was talked about and even I’ve talked about it saying you know he’s had help because he had Rudy goar out there on the team so that way they could afford having Carl Anthony towns out there on the printer because they have somebody as a safety valve in in the in the front Court instead he says you know what I’m going to show you that it’s okay that it’s just me out here tonight and that it was all right he went toe-to-toe with nikol yic outscored him out rebounded him yo Carl Anthony towns was on one tonight my guy he’s getting a 10 tonight as well yeah he another one another Jaylen Brunson came out to to do man set the tone put pressure on these guys and make your teammates better and they did that tonight I thought towns was a lot more sound I think overall just the Knick’s defense in helping him allowed him to play better defense as well so it wasn’t as bad as it was on Saturday night this was a better defensive representation from Carl Anthony towns and then offensively it was as good as you can be you outshine the MVP crib that’s an easy 10 points for Carl Anthony towns OG OG an anobi the dog the dog all right the dog one half of supposed Wing Stop well he’s holding up his end of the bar we just need Bridges to do that well tonight 16 of 23 from the field gets you 40 points five of seven from downtown three of three from the free throw on five boards four assists one block okay OG and anobi continuing to be that two-way Force for this team we already know what he can do defensively offensively it has been a revelation for him the efficiency is through the roof the way that he’s just able to get dunks cut off a cutting whether it’s just layups but mostly dunks man he’s more than happy to you know get physical and just and just you know dominate the paint on top of that knocking down threes when he’s wide open and look he’s using that shoulder creating some separation in the mid-range knocking him down with ease oh Og man has just been as I said a revelation offensively he has earned that spot to being the number three option on this team right now it is Brunson cat OG and anobi that is that is act as right now as of right now that is your big three that is your big three hands down no questions asked OG tonight with 40 points a career high career high guys he’s not getting a 10 CP I’m telling you that right now this guy’s getting a 15 cuz it’s through the roof the way that he’s been performing all right he’s coming out with 15 for me 15 wow this guy’s getting a bonus he did the extra credit man look he did the extra credit you know he went out he went out there and he did what he had to do yeah well it’s an easy one man perfect score whether you want to say 10 whether you want to say 15 it was a perfect night for the dog again just helping spearhead things the defensive intensity getting the team out in transition the oneel block where he was a oneman defense to offense you saw it all from ogan and Obi defensively offensively snapping the Nets from the on the arc again five of seven from downtown we played the sound bite he worked on his game the entire summer and it’s showing it’s paying dividends for this team because he’s getting in a three-level bag that we haven’t seen from him in his in his entire career so again another game he gets out of there healthy thank you basketball gods and he’s looking great doing it that he’s a benefactor of the opposing teams putting their toughest defender on Jaylen Brunson does that change as who knows but this is something that the Knicks can continue to exploit game after game you know on on against Dallas maybe it’s Nai Marshall or maybe it’s PJ Washington like one of those guys guarding Brunson will free up OG on a lesser Defender hey just keep taking advantage of it and that’s what they’re doing man perfect night for the dog I think he deserves to be to to head to San Francisco and represent the orange and blue and tonight was tonight was a perfect night to do that to show that man great great one great effort man is he the most improved candidate so far the way he’s playing the season CP wow you know that there are a lot there there’s a lot of guys who can who can um certainly qualify but at the at the rate that he’s going you might have to add him to the conversation as well he he he’s gonna make all defense he’s gonna make one of those all defense teams if he stays healthy knock on wood um he’ll make all defense and he he could definitely be in that uh in that MIP running I think he could I think he definitely could man he might be able to make that F uh First Team all defense just because I know it’s between him and Har like who who’s actually playing the four it’s like the four it’s like Tim Duncan and whoever insert whoever at center it’s like is Tim Duncan really the power forward or is he the center if you have OG at the four he’s kind of like to me it’s kind of a lock to be like First Team all defense yeah
