welcome you to the bleed Los family so uh thanks again for joining us tonight no you’re welcome I’m really excited to be here yeah there’s a lot of stuff to talk about but before we get into that let’s kind of get into you I feel like you’ve done a lot of writing throughout you know the past couple years for a variety of different blogs whether it’s your work on fansided and then kind of getting over here for Dodgers beat uh what’s a brief summary for our listeners who haven’t followed you where can they follow you what social media platform do you use the most uh give us all the details on that before we start getting into all the stuff we’re going to talk about tonight okay yeah so Twitter X is mostly my thing uh right here at Alvin Mano Garcia that’s going to be my handle of most of my social Instagram and Tik Tok all that stuff um I’ve been writing for about two years years and a half now um again fan sited um doing my own thing news break as well um I just want to get my name out there um but this is the first time actually riding for my team so I rid for other teams and in general MLB I’ve been an MLB fan since forever uh but this is the first time I’m out there with my team and I’m very excited be be part of here at Todd your speak yeah uh from the work I’ve i’ I’ve seen and I’ve read of yours um truly good writer I mean especially for only doing it for two years um you clearly know what you’re doing and I saw you kind of have been around the pond you know you’ve done some Diamondbacks work as well and now you finally get to join the real Squad and that is the Los Angeles Dodgers it’s really easy to write about these guys there seems to be you know they’re always in contention they’re always looking to add I mean look we had like the wodo rumors we got the Cody Bellinger stuff all like that so clearly a lot of stuff to get the content rolling so uh we’re really excited to have you on board whether you’re joining the show like today or uh whatever you got working on the website but first thing is first is the non-tender deadline was the P I believe this past Friday Dodgers got to work to start off the day I guess we’ll go with the two one-year contracts that they actually agreed to to avoid arbitration and that was the one-year deals with Tony gonin and DUS in May um there was a lot of fans a lot of you know some reporters I know MLB trade rumors when they put out their non-tender predictions Dustin was a name that they kind of put on there just because of how uncertain his health was how kind of up and down his career has been going with those two guys are you shocked that the Dodgers are bringing them back without going through the arbitration process altogether uh not really um they they have to show a little bit more um they’re homegrown they they have to show a little bit more on Dodgers uniform to see what what they can do um but they get injured again that’s gonna be a hard sell for fans uh but so far not surprised at all I think the big one is Dustin may and before we get into gulin May is very intriguing because I’ve stated time and time again that if you look at him if you were just a a baseball fan that watches the game on your TV screen or you’re watching highlights Dustin may has one of the nastiest repertoire in baseball you know when this guy is clicking I’ve seen him up close and personal for a few starts it’s just the health is the big concern for for him if you’re in Andrew Freeman’s chair you’re looking at Dustin may I imagine he’s going to want to be a starter he you know he’s earned two trips to the starting rotation in his career thus far I imagine he still wants that for you know entering the 2025 season especially if everything is good to go and he’s fully healthy however I’ve seen a lot of fans speculate online maybe his due to his health and the type of pitches he throws with the intensity and the violent nature of his mechanics he could be better suited for the bullpen what camp are you currently in especially with how the starting rotation kind of shaking out right now if say the Dodgers didn’t make a single move well if they didn’t do a single move we kind of need him in the station but but I do think I’m in the camp with the bullpen I think his his mechanics are too violent um he throws really fast um and like we saw Walker berer that’s another hot take I have but Walker buer can also be a great piece of the bullpen which I know nobody wants but uh the mechanics the speed the kind of pitch he’s throwing I think he’s going to be a great piss in the bullpen but well he want that or the fans want that or depending on the starting rotation if we don’t get snow Sasaki Burns whatever uh we might need to go ahead and do May again with the rotation yeah and I’ve made the joke before where you know if you look at a player’s career healthwise Dustin May’s career high Innings came in the 2020 season and that was a 60 game shorten year so that’s kind of concerning there when he is on the field you know before he had the 2021 Tommy John uh he had a 13 point something K rate like this guy does have the Arsenal to be a nasty starter he does have a great arsenal and looking at everything involved with a bullpen arm you know only going one inning two inning Max um it’ll be interesting to see what the Dodgers do with him because I do imagine they’re going to add starters whether it’s free agency or trade you know they’ve been rumored with every single big name uh on the board whether it’s Blake Snell Max freed you name it gar crochet has been thrown out there in trade talks right now I said at the beginning of the offseason that I’m pretty sure it’s a safe bet that they’re going to get at least one of the top five starters just because of sure necessity you know there’s a lot of question marks in their rotation that’s where Tony gonin comes in and this is a guy who last year tried his best to return I think if the Dodgers desperately needed him he would have pitched some meaningful Innings however we saw in October that they got it done with just those three starters and the dogs in the bullpen so gulin was not needed he looked really good in his rehab outings in Triple A last year I feel like a lot of people forget the season he had prior to the injury in 2020 3 that 2022 year was a career breakout year low to erra ran away with with a lot of wins thanks to a Dodgers team that won 111 games that season but he was one of the most Dependable arms for the Dodgers fortunately as the Tommy John surgery has to recover for an entire season what are you expecting from the Catman you know this upcoming year you know you look at five I think it was like five almost five a half million dollars that the Dodgers got him to a deal for have to imagine he’s going to be in the rotation what are what are your overall thoughts on him I like him in the rotation he’s he’s a Workhorse he can go long Innings he can uh pitch and you know he can U round around I mean um play with his Arsenal and he’s just not a onew punch guy he’s he’s pretty you can confuse batters all the time so I think he’s he’s a good guy for the rotation uh again depends on health uh but I do think it was it had to be done uh we need more eyes on him as a Dodger he’s a homegrown um and we want to keep him like that just like Walker bu or Kershaw or stuff like that yeah Dodgers have options in their starting rotation you know they’ve kind of alluded to a six-man rotation for the 2025 season makes all the sense in the world I mean are there any arguments from you in that regard like not really especially with all the arms we actually have if we actually bring all the arms we have from the iil from TY Glau to uh even uh forgot his name uh Gavin Stone sorry uh we have all those kinds of people just sitting around and the six-man rotation seems to be uh ideal and we even saw that in the playoffs with berer you know bu had maybe like eight 10 days of rest in between starts so uh I don’t think the the rest is bad for the rotation yeah I think it makes all the sense in the world I think adding an extra arm in the starting rotation it is a risk you know some of the downsides to it would just be you know say one of those guys one of the the links in the the chain link fence Falls then do you have to ask those guys to go back to five days normal rest it’ll be an interesting dilemma I guess the Dodgers have to deal with however I think they have enough pitching dep to get around it especially like I said I think they’re going to add at least one or two starters so it really makes sense to divide that workload and and you know Jeff Spiegel from dodger blue put out a nice chart on why the Dodgers are heavily invested in a lot of starters out there it’s because just the health and concerns of past injury you know Yamamoto had the shoulder injury glass now I I mean I love the guy I you know he’s similar in that Dustin may category where it’s like when he’s on he’s one of the best starting pitchers in the game but he has to be on the field on the mound to throw those pitches to be the best pitcher in the game you got Gavin Stone you already mentioned his name he’s out pretty much all next year more than likely um River Ryan is another another arm EMT Shen he’s probably not going to come back until at earliest the second half of next season so there are some holes the Dodgers they have some other pitchers to fill in that depth especially with May and gsin coming back so I expect them to have a big impact on this team next year the one thing I I’ll I’ll touch on and see if you’re if you have any thoughts on it is Dustin may could possibly be part of some sort of trade package maybe they want to get this guy you know locked up to the one-year commitment and then be able to trade him I’ve seen his name thrown out there in trade talk as well is Dustin may given his talent worth keeping especially with bullpens kind of changing year in and year out uh it really depends on what we’re getting back uh because uh for example that trade they had the Kansas City Royals had with the uh the Reds I think it was a good move for each each um team but man we could have got India that’s what I was thinking about uh we couldn’t throw a better package for them um that’s a good second basement and I didn’t thought the rats were gonna go through with with that but I mean it depends Dustin may depends on what we’re getting back if we’re getting our younger similar arm or any other holes we’re needing in the infield which that’s another thing but uh then we might consider consider but if he’s going to go into the bullpen it we want to try to keep May uh if he stays hey he’s gonna be an amazing arm if we put him in the bullpen or even like a six-man rotation it just be the six man it can be great for us yeah I definitely agree with that however the downside to the non-tender deadline and it’s something that I kind of knew was inevitably going to happen I put it in my my uh off season predictions for the non-tender deadline and Brent Honeywell unfortunately was the guy that had to pay the price the Dodgers on Friday announced that they have non-tendered contracts to Brent Honeywell Jr and Zack loj um any surprises there at all considering the business side of the sport uh not really I Honeywell was I know fans love honey well he’s he’s a Dodgers Legend uh but he his numbers were not translated to the Dodgers we’re looking for at 2025 maybe he will come back maybe might like you said on Twitter maybe a minor league deal U that could be helpful for both B parties but not surprised at all Honeywell um numbers especially at the postseason were not that great so um no not surprised yeah honey well I mean I understand why he was a fan favorite he kind of took you know took one for the team per se you know he pitched the Innings the bulk Innings gave up the runs you know to set up the team for the next day looking at his 2024 season it actually wasn’t too terrible especially when he joined the Dodgers and going between Triple A and the big Le cup had a 2.62 erra um in 34 Innings um for the Dodgers this year so it was good uh a lot of people do forget that the Dodgers DFA him in August and he ended up opting to stay with the team and accept the minor league um assignment um so that speaks volumes to honey well and his he wanted to do he wanted to stay with the team he obviously you know beted on himself to hopefully get the call to come back to the bigley club and he ended up getting a ring out of it so that’s kind of why I tweeted out that it kind of makes sense that he more than likely would probably resign with the Dodgers on a minor league deal with some sort of you know invit invitation to spring training and and Kelly McDaniel from um I believe MLB trade rumors tweeted it out saying you know it it’s it’s not the end all Beall when pre-arbitration guys get non-tendered it’s really a way for guys or for organizations to clear that player from the 40 man and hopefully they can retain them to bring them back in the organization because at the end of the day that’s why Honeywell just was the odd man out he was a pre-arbitration player with zero minor league options so he had to 100% be on the 26-man opening day roster and as of right now even how this Bullpen shaking out and the rotation he’s not allowed to make the team and I don’t think the Dodgers want to go into spring training uh with his you know playing status kind of in a a little bit of Cloudy gray Air there so do you think the the Dodgers will bring him back like do you want them to come back do do are you a Vibes guy or do you want the Dodgers because it kind of seems like they already went into another option and we’ll talk about that later with gagos but what’s your thoughts on you know do you want honey well back is the question uh as a fan yes uh you know he’s uh he brings the whole 90s VI into the team he’s he’s just great um again I his stuff is you know not his like his stats are you were mentioning but his stuff his his pitching mechanics all that stuff he got hammer in that game f um game five um or no game four sorry uh so but I know it was he took it for a team uh but um I don’t know it depends again if if gagos looks good that’s that’s the one that uh or we can get another piece uh maybe Devin Williams that we’re talking you know something like that so it depends um but it’s not bad to have like you said minor league contract it’s it’s okay and if he can achieve and Excel that’s great great for the team but um if he he gets something better out there better for him yeah I mean he has options out there he could go to you know another team that’s kind of out on the outside looking in where he can get a guaranteed Major League spot or he can return to the team that he won a World Series with get a minor league deal maybe try to work his way back to the big league club and you know from there on out see what happens um the other part of this is Zack loj I mean that kind of just seems like it was going to happen right off the gate similar situation um to Brent Honeywell except he had I believe two minor league options available however he was just taking up crucial 40-man roster space in his one inning with the Dodgers last year did not look good I believe he gave up one or two runs a lot of hard hit contact and then we just never saw him for the rest of the season so when I was looking at the 40-man roster I said well I see an outlier here are you surprised with Lo getting you know the the boot here not at all again like you said only one any went the Dodgers um he was on the way out yeah there’s really not much to talk about with him here so best of luck to both players in this like I said I think Bren Honeywell more than likely will make his way back in the Dodgers in some capacity more than likely like I mentioned a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training um the other part of all this is kind of the name you mentioned and that’s kind of the bullpen and where they’re going to the Dodgers did sign another former All-Star closer and Giovani Goos from former St Louis Cardinal one of was an All-Star was really dominant for a four-year stretch from 2019 to around you know 2022 surprised by the move at all is this another you know Dodgers pitching lab experiment because he did not look good last year got DFA in mid July signed a minor league deal with the twins it didn’t end up working out uh Dodgers are taking the bet on another former Cardinal closer yeah they had Alex Reyes two seasons ago um what are your thoughts on the signing and do you think the Dodgers can you know get whatever baseball’s left out of him H we’ve seen it U the Dodgers are are experts on turning things around for better uh but I don’t know there’s not enough uh there’s always room for pitching no matter what for the Dodger especially for that Bullpen and um you just gotta see gagos was a a name that I used to remember back through two three years ago four years ago when he was relevant um but he come back I I I I trust the pitching staff at the Dodgers that they can turn it around and maybe not the allstar closer but some kind of uh setup man yeah I mean this is the formula that they’ve done for the past probably like seven plus years take a guy who’s on the outside looking in maybe could be a minor league deal could be something more um this is a guy from 2019 to 2022 posted a 2.84 erra 32% strikeout clip he was pretty dominant for the Cardinals and he was a vast reason why they were successful in that window you know winning the National League central um getting a wild card appearance against the Dodgers and all that um it dropped off the past two years didn’t do too well in 2023 had a erra over four um and then this year it was an RA well over six the biggest reason why is you know drop in velocity lost around two miles per hour on you know his fast ball and his primary pitches and then because of that velocity dip his strikeout numbers went down but also his command was a little erratic as his walks went up so if the Dodgers can see something maybe mechanically because he said uh gagos has stated that it’s not health or anything related that way um he did miss some time on the iil in 23 but in 24 it was kind of just performance of why the Cardinals moved on I think if the Dodgers can kind to fix some things there they could tap into something pretty pretty good here um and it would be a steal for the Dodgers if that’s the case um when you’re looking at the Bullpen I mean you you still got some guys that the Dodgers can resign but I feel like the bullpen is still in a good spot for 2025 are any ideas who else you would go out there and say the free agent Market you mentioned Devin Williams is that a name that’s intriguing you yeah Devin Williams definitely uh I did I didn’t hear some uh stuff in in Twitter of his uh agent well one of the not his agent uh Milwaukee’s former Milwaukee uh Brewers closer jeffris uh that man that um that agent was trying to get Devin Williams to sign with him but I guess there’s some stuff going around with with him and and I guess he wants to get paid a lot of money but I think that you when you bring a person like Devin Williams to La you’re gonna win winning changes everybody uh winning makes everybody want to play as a team and we have a culture here in La that’s very different than Milwaukee Milwaukee always they’re putting scraps you know they they put great teams um but they’re not trying to invest like will Adam is probably not gonna be a brewer next year um so Devin Williams could be a great trade candidate and um that’s just intriguing for me bringing back uh tring that’s like a must for me uh maybe you know there’s other options there’s Miller at the Oakland A’s there’s uh the Nationals just the U nontender finnean they’re closer so there a couple options out there but Devin Williams definitely is top for me yeah I I think I I know exactly what video you’re talking about I think it was his former agent actually yeah was on Tik Tok he posted a bunch of videos very intriguing guy but I did see the videos specifically talking about Devin Williams and from what my understanding of it is kind of just anytime a player in a team goes through the arbitration process it kind of causes a divide right there it’s a very awkward thing to put players and the the organization in where they shoot one number and say hey no you’re worth this and the player says well I think I’m worth more I mean it’s like talking salary with your daytime job it’s it’s a very awkward situation it’s stressful for both sides and in this case the Brewers you know they’ve had a history of trading guys in their final years of arbitration you know Josh haer he got moved during his contract year to the San Diego Padre’s we saw how that worked out for them Devin Williams I mean there’s not many teams trading closers right now so if I imagine the Brewers are trying to shop him um and if they can find a Suitor to get some you know whether you know a replacement for Willie adamus something on the offensive side because the Brewers have you know traditionally have had pitching whether it’s in the rotation or in the bullpen their big thing is offense that they’re always trying to get last year they kind of actually went to complete 180 with it they had a really good Ops as a team reys Hoskins brought some power from first base Willi Damas was one of the best better offensive Short Stops they kind of got Improvement Christian Yelich for the first half of the season was like looking like his 2019 MVP self they ended up just not getting it done in the postseason yet again in large part to Devin Williams which I imagine they will hold that against him in his arbitration hearing yes definitely so I I think it’s kind of the Brewers put together competitive teams like you said but they’re very penny pinching about it they’re going to try to save whatever dollar they can they’re very similar to the Tampa Bay rid the Oakland A’s these small Market teams that you know cry that they don’t have money I imagine Williams would definitely be open to a trade especially to a contender like LA and despite some of the failures he’s had in the postseason I would 100% be on board of that there’s something I like and we talked about this on the show with Carlos myself we’ve all were kind of in agreement there’s just something about having a guy who was guaranteed to get the ninth inning every single time out when you’re time when you’re got when your your team is in the lead do you value that as well as a closer because it feels like the Dodgers haven’t had that since Kenley Janson yes I do I do especially I I watch a lot of um U Mets baseball and that um when Diaz was dominant back in 2022 200 uh uh that was just incredible having that show you know people waiting for that closer and again I haven’t seen that in La since Jensen and during the off you know this postseason was the bullpen was doing great but every time the n n in come came in it was just very nerve-wracking yeah it’s a different animal I mean for anyone that’s either played baseball or watch baseball even like as a fan of the stands you know there’s some theatrics with it like Diaz the Dodgers tried I I I I give them credit they tried to find a closer it seems like it’s been a Carousel Ride you know first you get Evan Phillips in there it it ended up turning into Blake trining kind of at the end of the year and then you know we saw in the World Series it wasn’t really about it was closer by committee like how it has been since Jansen left in free agency in 21 um I would I would 100% be down if they bring Blake trinon back I imagine he is coming back um I’ve mentioned that before on this show and then kind of in some of my work at Dodgers beat um other than that I feel like the bullen’s in a really good spot and I’m hoping that they continue to add to the rotation in the offense uh the two things that kind of have some holes in there right now um kind of looking at the coaching staff though we’ll switch switch gears to that one of the holes that the team did have was first base coach clay McCulla I believe last week took the job for the Miami Marlins manager gig good luck to him uh that kind of franchise seems like uh not the best place to be in right now uh you know they lost one of the better managers you know and young managers in skip Schumacher who I a lot of Dodgers fans were clamoring for to replace Dave Roberts if they lost the playoffs uh that’s not going to happen Schumacher’s just so scared from coaching again he’s not even managing a team anymore I believe he joined a team in the front office so that’s correct yes do you remember which team it is is it the Cardinal I do not I’ll have to look that up I know he’s not managing again and I thought he did a really good job especially his first year there uh but Clayton McCulla was the first base coach for the dodgers for theast you know couple Seasons um he will be replaced by former third base coach Chris Woodward who if you guys remember left the Dodgers after the 2018 season took the Texas Rangers gig and just did not have a good time there as their manager ended up getting replaced by Future Hall of Famer Bruce bochi and they ended up winning a World Series his first year there so I mean it kind of makes sense Woodward very familiar with Dave Roberts you know very familiar with the team he actually got rehired after he was fired from the Rangers in the Dodgers kind of back off the setting did a lot of infield drills with some players um travel with the team and such like that um are you shocked is it a big impact especially after Otani stole 50 bases this year the Dodgers kind of seemed like they were aggressive on the bases um what do you expecting from you know Woodward do you expect any of the stuff to change what’s your whole thoughts on this move I think think he’s going to just uh we’re going to be the same yeah we’re going to be exactly the same and and the aggressiveness and the base bats not only a Dodgers thing is League one we saw um Del Cruz stealing a lot uh and and again Otani as well so I don’t think that’s going to change at all uh we just a familiar face that it’s gonna help Dave Roberts uh keep this team going and uh before I uh shoe marer he signed with the Rangers that was front office there we go he joined a a recent World Series champion the Texas Rangers uh yeah I think the Dodgers are going to be very similar to what they have been doing the past couple years you mentioned with the Bas is getting bigger you know the the the distance shorting between second first and and third and second whatever um stol bases have gone up Dodgers have been really aggressive this season they were hyper aggressive in large part 20 time stealing over 50 bases I mean the Dodgers NE they haven’t necessarily been you know a speedy group of Runners the past couple years even though that’s something that historically the franchise has kind of been built on especially in the early years like 50s and the 60s with a lot of those guys getting you know getting up there in stolen bases um the big thing for me is that now dino abble is is going to be switching from the infield coaching I’m doing the drills with them to to now the Outfield and Woodward is going to be working with the infield group um from someone that’s been kind of up close and personal especially covering the game when they travel here on the East Coast um you see these coaches a lot of people say the manager has a lot of input in the game which I do agree to to a certain extent like Bullpen you know management stuff like that especially in October that can make or break your team as we’ve seen so often the last 13 years um but behind the scenes these coaches that are just at first and third base they’re doing so many other things behind you know closed doors training the players practicing with the players getting those players right um Woodward is definitely familiar with the club he’s been with Dave Robert staff since he was hired in 2016 and like I said left after the 2018 season um and he they did a good job there as well especially the infield side which he was the main guy there in those early years and the Dodgers infield defense back then was really really good they were really good last year and I expect them to take another step forward this year especially if they make a move or two mookie bets coming into second base you know shortstop Miguel roas is currently the primary starter but if they add someone like Willie adamus who is a defensive first guy even though he took a step back this year um I’m really excited to see what they do but I agree with you I think it’s going to be primarily the same I don’t really see much changing this year yeah but what is next on the to-do list that is right big topic on Dodger Twitter and dodg our social media and that is our old friend Cody Bellinger Cody Bellinger has kind of been all over the news uh you know reports this week Ken Rosenthal of the athletic posted a very interesting article that we I did a lot of uh kind of writing on a based off that article a lot of Dodgers Tibbits in there um the last part of that article and that report was that Cody Bellinger is actively being shopped by the Chicago Cubs um he is in the final two years he has uh he opted into his player option this year which was for around like 23 million then he has another player option next year for I believe 25 million they assume he’s going to probably opt into that especially if he plays like he did this past year they actively want to get rid of that $50 million salary and let some of their younger outfielders like SE a p Armstrong and these other prospects get some playing time um it’s it’s kind of crazy because he won comeback player of the year he was a very big piece of the Cubs that just missed one game in the Wild Card uh round um in 23 and now they’re actively trying to get rid of this guy I feel like the Dodgers have been a part of that especially the seasons we watched your takes on this because a lot of fans have started to speculate Dodgers reunion I know you put a tweet out there I definitely put a tweet out there very very touchy touchy subject curious to what your thoughts are on the process uh it’s it’s ah I don’t know even how to describe it it’s um Cody Bellinger he’s a 22 you know that catch he had I mean at 2020 that catch I I have the tops now for that card and I have a picture of Cody Bellinger getting that ball Centerfield he’s he’s a Dodgers Legend uh back in 2020 but is the salary match what he did last year I don’t know uh if he comes back as he did in um 20 three yeah come back but uh last year he didn’t do that well I’m not betting on getting Bellinger and I know he has other even the Yankees I was seeing Yankees Twitter that they want him so U they can have them yeah I mean the interest makes sense I the other years like last year and the year before where everyone was saying well bring Bellinger back you know trade with the Cubs the Dodgers didn’t really have a spot for him this time they do you know moving mie Betts to second base does open up an outfield spot I know Andy pz has kind of been criticized for his defense um so far he’s probably going to get the center field gig at least splitting time with Tommy Edmond over there um Bellinger would fit you know you know couple you know hitting two birds with one stone there you know he could play a corner Outfield he can play center field if you want to get Freddy Freeman off his feet he can play first base as as well the big thing with me is what you mentioned is the salary I don’t think it really matches up for what the performance is and I think the Cubs know that too and it’s going to be really really tricky for them to trade him away at the end of the day he’s an underwater contract right now so they’re going either going to have to eat some of that money or they’re going to have to take way less than what they are expecting to get in return the Dodgers and the Cubs have lined up for a couple trades over the past couple years especially last year where the Dodgers kind of did a salary dump there you know getting rid of you know Michael Bush and yans alante bringing in some younger prospects in the in the process a trade can get done for Bellinger if they’re willing to eat say you know Chris Taylor’s remaining deal you know he’s do around 12 13 million maybe you do kind of like a salary swap along those lines you know maybe send like a James Alman over there somewh along with that get cash from the Cubs there’s a variety of different ways I would be open to a Cubs re or a Cody Bellinger reunion but that’s if say they don’t get Juan SoDo they don’t get tasar Hernandez they don’t get Anthony santand there they don’t get Tyler O’Neal like they gotta go the bottom of the barrel for me I understand you know Bellinger was one of my favorite players growing up I mean I got his jersey hung up straight in the back right over there I mean obviously I still feel for the guy and I want him to succeed if he ends up coming back to Los Angeles I’m going to cheer for the move because I’ll understand the move and it’ll be cool to see a play player of his caliber and his stature in the Dodgers lore especially recently um I wrote an article about it why it doesn’t really make sense and some of the points whether it’s defense or offense you know the numbers just aren’t there as what they once were especially when he was in a Dodgers uniform and he’s a very inconsistent shrieky player and I don’t really necessarily think the Dodgers want to kind of dabble in that so I’m going to say I’m out on Bellinger I don’t think it’s entirely going to happen either you mentioned the Yankees I feel like he’s been rumored to go there for a while now just make it happen already his father played there in the early 90s late 2000 or the early 2000s and the late 90s just make Cody Binger go there he can be their new first baseman replacing Rizzo he actually may run to the back I mean that that’s probably something Bellinger would do there so I don’t really see do you even see Bellinger getting moved at all because the salary thing I just think is going to be a big hiccup in all of that uh maybe maybe if a team like like like said the Yankees with Dodgers but I don’t think he’s going to get moved soon maybe as a trade deadline uh and not even like at July maybe June May end of May uh when if we don’t get if we get injuries or stuff at the Outfield or first base um then I think teams will get a little bit desperate but not right now I I don’t see him moving at all yeah I think he’s a deadline guy because of this if he’s playing really well and the Cubs aren’t in contention they can look to trade him because more than likely the team that’s going to acquire him they’re going to essentially think that he’s just going to opt out of that deal and then Test free agency again try to get that long-term deal that he’s alsoo been looking for especially after 2023 winning comeback Player of the Year like I said I don’t see a Dodgers reunion in the cards per se it make sense on paper but I just don’t I I just feel like sometimes it’s it’s time to move on guys don’t don’t keep thinking about your ex-girlfriends all that stuff move on Nostalgia it’s a good thing but it can also be a bad thing when you’re when you’re Reminiscing on everything that the what the player was and then what the player is now because like I said in my article what Bellinger is right now is a streaky League average player his defense has taken a huge decline over the last couple years his offensive numbers even in 2023 when he had the rebound year if you look at his baseball Savant page you know his Barrel percentage was down you know he doesn’t walk a lot he’s still he credit to him he’s decreased his strikeouts a lot and I think that’s in large part where kind of got away from the Dodgers philosophy wanted to get a fresh start in another organization but other than that you know the power number really isn’t there I just feel like it it’s it’s just not a a can of worms I want the Dodgers to be invested in if you’re going to bring back any outfielder should be T Oscar Hernandez and I don’t think any any argument there I agree free agency market it’s definitely going to start turning here soon last note we’ll get on this and I I know you disagree with it with the Juan sto thing a report came out today saying that he’s going to start Fielding offers um do you expect the Dodgers to be a really serious Suitor for this guy because I’ve said for the right price for the right years and if he wants to win it makes sense but I really don’t see it happening just because once you get to a 14-year 600 plus million dollar contract I just don’t think the Dodgers bite at that but do you think there is a possibility or do you want the Dodgers to do something else uh it’s it doesn’t hurt it doesn’t hurt to go after him uh but the only thing that the Dodgers can sell him is um the you know the the the championship mentality that the Dodgers are winning every year uh but he might need to take a pay cut for that one uh especially with the rumors of the me Mets doing 660 uh that’s not something that I see the Dodgers doing at all uh but if he wants to win yeah definitely uh he can take a little bit of pay cut which it’s a lot still probably for him and um but yeah I do see the possibility with for me he’s not the priority I would get something like pitching and maybe a short stop uh like Willie adamus or something like that but if if he wants to be in La yeah definitely we’ll take him yeah I think it really just depends on what contract he’s looking for the big thing I think you can throw in there is potential opt outs whether it’s player or Club option more than likely it’s going to be a player thing that’s usually what Scott Boris would try to get in for his clients um I mentioned it last week on the live infinite dodon X he put out a great way to like offer or entice juano to kind of come here with opt outs and that is to offer him you know that long-term deal of like 12 or 14 years but have opt outs after the third fourth or maybe fifth year frontload the contract give them like 5560 million it looks crazy on paper but Otani deferred all that so you could bring in Star talent and then he has a chance to opt out and then Test free agency again and then with inflation MLB contract values going up he has a chance to get another multi long-term multi-year deal 10 plus he’s young too so he could do it theoretically I think he probably him and Scott Boris take the safe bet and just get the long-term deal with the most money and you mentioned the New York Mets is in my head where he is more than likely going to go seems like Steve Cohen is definitely hellbent on trying to bring Juan stto to Queens to try to you know beat the Dodgers this time in the n LCA so we’ll see what happens with that it’s definitely going to be an ongoing story I think if he starts Fielding offers right now with Thanksgiving coming up this week I imagine he wants to try to either be signed by the winter meetings or during the winter meetings which are on the middle of December so um it’s definitely something I’m going to keep an eye on because I’m very interested to see what the years and the contract number is because I don’t see anyone beating the 10year $700 million Otani contract even though it’s a you know current value of for $160 million or whatever you know the MLB players associ and value it as um it’s going to be an interesting deal and if he goes to the Dodgers I mean look out for the online hate if he doesn’t go back to the Yankees look out for my online you know clowning of that organization especially after the World Series um but yeah I mean there’s really nothing else to touch on tonight we are going to be going live on Wednesday right before Thanksgiving to kind of touch on whatever news rumors or else comes through but you know Alvin I’ll have I’ll I’ll leave you the floor again uh this time where can
