Lakers nation is still reeling from you know from what happened last night man we went from uh from smile to frown upside down real quick so you know definitely devastated however we got a big game coming up tomorrow guys big game coming up and that is the the Denver Nuggets and of course joic is back tonight currently playing right now so he’ll be back for tomorrow night’s game as well just as we used to sued also gonna have a couple of Trades that I threw fired up the trade machine for you know throughout the course of the show and I want to mix it up in there with some news some rumors and some phone calls we’re gonna do a little bit of everything and get you guys’ opinion on everything so what I’m gonna do here so I’m let’s start with the topic of the day and that is JJ reck saying that he’s going into a very dark place after the loss to the Orlando Magic this is what he said I go to a very dark place it’s the basement I turn the lights out and I watch film that’s my therapy it sounds great now what do you guys think of JJ going to a dark place it sounds great now to me uh however um how is that gonna help the lake well it’s gonna help the Lakers obviously he’s studying film and all that he should make adjustments he needs to look from within and I’m sure he’s gonna see what happened in the fourth quarter the fact that you know he didn’t make the proper uh adjustment by putting cam reddish out there instead of d’angel Russell who who was part of the reason they cost it us the game obviously you cannot dissect the free throws and all of that but I am I’m happy I’m happy that he is obsessive about uh you know uh correcting the Lakers that’s always a good thing what’s up Die Hard good to see you my boy um all right also we got another trade rumor today apparently the Lakers the Pelicans and Kings have all shown interest in Robert Williams per Brett seagull of of the NBA it says out of the three big men Williams is expected to hold the biggest Market the Los Angeles Lakers pelicans and Kings have held interest in Portland trouers big man dating back to the offseason so that’s something that might become more realistic as we get closer uh to the trade deadline honestly but I hope it doesn’t take too long Robert Williams will be a nice little addition uh and because of that I actually let’s see if I I I pull it up I actually fired up my first trade of the trade machine I’m going to share it with you guys now I’ll going get you you guys thoughts and opinions I’m also going to open up the phone lines right after this uh and then I’ll be you know like I said sprinkling in some more trades but Robert Williams to the Lakers here’s what I would like to see done this is my first trade of the trade machine and I definitely want to know what you guys thoughts on this trade is so the Lakers acquired Jeremy Grant and Robert Williams and the Lakers trade DLo ruie and Gabe Vincent no pick exchange no pick exchanged at all and the reason Reon why I believe they would do it is because they would be giving up what the NBA currently considers a horrible contract and that is jerey Grants 29 million a year for the next four years and they could be tanking with a with a move like this not to mention they can then turn around and trade guys like ruy and DLo elsewhere I’ve been hearing rumors that the Golden State Warriors might have interest in DLo etc etc but look Jeremy Grant Robert Williams to the Lakers would solve two issues for one it gives us a wing defense who can also score and playmake a little bit a shot creator of some sorts and it gives us a roll cut big who’s a rim protector and can rebound if he stays healthy that would be lethal on a very good contract he’s making 12 million a year for two years the bad one the the pill we have to swallow in this trade is Jeremy Grant again why would Portland do this they getting DLo on expiring contract or they could ship them out somewhere else if they make this trade early they again Ru he’s a very good contract he’s on a two-year 17 million deal very good contract for them and again Gabe who I believe there’s a team deal I believe on the second year um so if you guys like that one let me know if you guys don’t like it let me know again I will be giving out more trades as the the show progresses but for now for now I will be posting the link at this phone call Friday when he played for the Celtics he’s still a problem if he’s healthy that’s a big body who sets tough screens can get rebound and do a lot of the Dirty Work right um Hunter juw says and also Gabe isn’t really giving us nothing yes the reason I want to ship out too to get you know to clear up a roster spot potentially bring back bring up somebody else here um all right let’s bring in our first caller for the day my guy what’s up what’s up fam can you hear me yeah I can hear you loud and loud and clear my brother all right how you doing how you doing good man you know after last night’s game I definitely had fire up the trade machine make myself feel better with some imaginary trades and uh and some trade rumors are actually are active right now how you feeling about these rumors and stuff man uh I like it I like that with being active um I was actually creeping in uh playback um listening to you guys I wasn’t watching I was working at the time I saw y’all reaction all that stuff and literally it literally it’s like you KJ and that all called it that we might end up um losing by a three-pointer at the end of buzzer after we after they chok those um those uh free throws so it’s kind of sad but other than that um it’s going to take it a little bit time to simmer down with that but just going another win streak let’s move on but I like these rumors yeah man for sure another win streak would heal a lot bro what what do you think has to happen in order for us to beat Fatboy yic and the Denver Nuggets man like what has to happen since they’ve had our our number for the last couple Seasons we’ve only beat him one time in the previous two playoffs and regular seasons combined what has to happen well me personally I kind of feel like joic hasn’t really been the one that’s been beating us it’s actually been the perimeter shoo that’s been beating us um Michael Porter Jr um I would I need to make sure that uh we kind of keep cam reddish um either on whoever’s hard between um Murray or Michael Porter Jr I want cam reddish um glued on to him also this would be a good game to kind of Institute match Christie as well um but other than that to be honest with you I don’t think because ever since last year I feel like we’ve been playing better against Denver it’s just that the poor execution by the coaching staff last year was um was causing us to lose a whole lot of games because we was ahead a lot of the last couple games with from them we just kept choking lead so we just need to stop giving up on Wing threes and Corner threes you need to stop transition which is easier said than done and then just um feed the big man um ad and I think we’ll be fine my my issue with the Lakers last night was that are you know three of our top four players all missed Fritos in that fourth quarter and it culminated into a loss but also what do you think happened why did JJ reck leave D’Angelo Russell out there that fourth quarter man with with Cam reddish being available Max Christie being available better Defenders to be honest with you your guess is better than mine now coming from a basketball maybe um standpoint maybe he wanted to have maybe he want another threat out there with Austin Reeves and um and Dalton out there to uh to you know spread the floor and all that but even still that still doesn’t make any sense because you’re losing defense which is literally what killed us at the game and then you took and then by the time you you inserted him in France bongon was he was already on the heat of the whole game ever since the second half well really the whole game but you didn’t you didn’t have any good position to um really lock him up honestly I would have gotten the ball out of his hands and not even let him um get off that three because he’s the only person that was killing the Lakers last night so yeah agreed man very disappointed we were uh not able to make adjustments but uh but you know hopefully we we learn from this you know JJ gonna lock himself in the basement and apparently and try to learn from it so we’ll see what comes of it man uh final question for you my brother what do you think of my trade proposal here that I suggested man I said Jeremy Grant and Robert Williams for dowlo ruy and gay how you feel about that I like Robert Williams even though he’s been injury-prone that kind of concerns me but maybe it’s me and and this is kind of just my opinion and maybe haven’t watched enough Jeremy Grant but I really don’t see a lot of the fascination with Jeremy Grant Jeremy Grant um isn’t the best defender he’s not the defender he was when he was in Denver if um if people have really been paying attention to him especially being on a bad team that’s not that doesn’t give me too much confidence that he’ll be able to defend at a high level on the Lakers to be honest with you I would rather keep ruy rather than um keep I’m Jeremy Grant but that’s just my opinion maybe I need to brush up on some more film on him but I just that’s just me I kind of don’t know the fascination with Jeremy Grant but I like it if as long as it makes it better I’m cool with it for sure brother hey man well always but what I like about this trade Jeremy Grant I think is playing uninspired basketball right now which is why I think you won’t have to give up a first- round pick Robert Williams is really the prize whatever you get out of Jeremy Grant will be a bonus but I actually do like Jeremy because he’s a playmaker he’s somebody who can go off he has a great wing span he’s got great defensive potential I don’t think anybody in the in the position that the Portland TR Blazers are in is really playing motivated same thing with CZ and he’s going to come up in a trade rumor later on as well that I have up here but uh or in a trade package that I have up here as well but uh but all right let’s bring in our next caller my guy Shand in the building what’s up Brody yeah what’s up bro how you feeling I’m feel a little bit better than I was yesterday last night really took me off bro but I’m feeling a little bit better you know another day another dollar brother talk to me though ah same um as far as like last night man I wasn’t really shocked man I knew you know once they start playing with their food and I I always get a little concerned when ads at the free throw line late game I always hope he can make at least one but I knew once like he was getting to that point and we were like Slaughter slipping away I knew we lost I just had this weird feeling I was getting PTSD to like a like a season or two ago I remember we had hella games where ad like I’d say at least three or four where like ad would foul three-point Shooters he’d get to the line and he’d blow it for us so I mean it’s ad80 is not my first option for like a player I’d want shooting free throws at the end of the game that’s just me um but honestly man like it was a good win streak but I my my concerns stand still man I still don’t I still don’t have much faith in this starting lineup even with JJ I think JJ has been a godsend anybody with half a half a brain cell would be a godson compared to Darin scam bro but like I still believe that we’re lacking man we don’t have a good perimeter guard as much as I like dton connect man like and he’s been tremendous we still need like a really good like blue collar 3 and D guy like in the back court near the wings and [ __ ] and like as far as uh big man like I like um you know I like I just need somebody with a big body man that’s what I want big back H you you need a big back out here man now I feel you um yeah you’re right I mean again I I will break down a couple other trade packages that I have in mind but the rumor mill is starting to heat up man the rumor mill starting to heat up and and you know December 15 can’t come quick enough but once it does a lot of players will become trade eligible I know you’re a big fan of Clint capella you’ve been saying it for a long time you would love Clint is there anybody else that comes to mind that you would love for the Lakers to trade man I mean look like I like Clint capella but it might be a little unrealistic so I would say like there were rumors for valent Tunis I’m not a big valent Tunis guy bro I know he’s like he’s a little slow he’s not exactly a rim protector uh but at the same time man like like I’m G give you a quote that I think Brian wior gave a couple years ago like when he was talking about like the Kyrie trade like oh like the whole the pizza slice Theory you either it might not be the most like decorative slice but like you either eat that or you go to bed hungry and you see if it’s like if that’s the only route it takes to get rid of Gabe Vincent right and that’s the only route we have at getting another act good decent to good quality big man I’m willing to take that any day might despite the flaws man because at this this point bro like I just kind of want someone with a body man somebody who could just like pound other big man cuz there’s been several times ad gets poked in the OD it’s all good and till ad missed a game or two and then we and then we’re screwed man so like I’m I’m down with Jonas Val Tunis man just because this point man I just want somebody bro like because it’s hard as hell to get a big man yes sir absolutely man um any final thoughts man who what do you think is our biggest issue on the roster right now like and give us your final thoughts too before I let you go DLo and Gabe Vincent uh just the that’s pretty much the biggest problems those are two weak links uh like I think I said it before man I made the joke about Russell and Miami guards man I just think it’s bad luck for this team man and I just think that like I mean Gabe Vincent I feel like he’s more of a system player he fit the Miami system but he’s always been kind of a streaky off the dribble shooter obviously you can’t get anything to go like kind of reminds me the same situation that Kendrick nun was but even Kendrick nun was able to hit more shots than him and DLo man D’s been atrocious man I just don’t think he’s good for the team you could tell he doesn’t want to be there he doesn’t like his role he could say what he wants to the media but we all know deep down he doesn’t want he doesn’t want like the role he’s in and I just feel like in my opinion any championship team I get the whole sacrifice thing but it’s always like a willful sacrifice it’s always you don’t like the every championship team I’ve seen everyone gets along and everyone loves the role they play they take pride in that [ __ ] so like I just I’m just not a fan of that and another issue that I kind I know a lot of people think that it’s just the easy ass fix you like start connect move ruy to the bench but I’m I’m a little concerned with that I want to see I want to hear your thoughts I know you might be like I don’t care about your feelings man I just want to win but like the thing is last season if a lot of people forget like ruy was coming off the bench and he did not he was very inconsistent and you could kind of blame some of that on Darvin ham but I still don’t I’m still a little nervous man because I feel like if you bring ruy Off the Bench his minutes might be inconsistent his touches might be inconsistent and like I I just feel like it would cause for a lot of chemistry problems because you just got to the point where you was starting in a consistent role man and I just think that like I just don’t want any chemistry problems I just want like a clearcut 89 rotation where everybody knows their role and plays it well you know and can step up if need be that’s a fair point the only thing I will push back on that is for me ru is not an issue whether you start him or bring him off the bench I’m fine with it we do need more bench production we have one of the worst benches out there that’s why I threw out ruy coming off the bench however I could easily bring uh cam reddish Off the Bench even though he’s been Elite defensively the only problem that leaves you your starting lineup with now is is gaping ho defensively at the wing position because ruy is a part-time Defender meaning he’s only gonna play defense when he wants and he he’s very capable I’ve seen this man block shots I’ve seen his man Steals and and do some great things but he doesn’t do it as often as I’d like cam reddish does it at all times that’s the only reason my suggestion was Austin dton uh Cam and LeBron and AD however if ruy does start struggling Off the Bench then you can just bring cam Off the Bench that’s not an issue to me it’s not about who starts about who finishes the only reason I want Dalton to start besides obviously that we love the rook and he’s been on a heater is the fact that if you notice the floor spacing has been so much better with him out there at all times and yeah that could be useful Off the Bench as well but it’s a lot more useful when you got LeBron and AD operating from the post from the elbow in area and matter of fact last night was a perfect example he only had 17 points or I shouldn’t say only because he’s a rookie that’s great for a rookie but he had 17 points after his explosion of 37 points and you pay attention the whole game they were attached to his hip everything he got was off the cut or off of screens or off of uh just uh you know uh plays that limited plays that JJ was was able to call for him but what that did is it allowed both ad and LeBron to do something that we don’t see that often they both went off for 30 plus points right because they were able to operate on more one-on-one so for me it’s not so much about benching or starting ruy but it’s about starting Dalton I don’t care who’s got to go to bench honestly the floor spacing has been so beautiful with with Dalton that I wouldn’t even mind bringing Austin Off the Bench if he’s the one that needs to go right as long as dton stays out there for floor spacing although I I prefer to bring uh either ruy or Cam off the bench because even though he’s been struggling Austin is a good playmaker and uh and he can also score in flurries well so that’s yeah and also I’ll give you my thoughts on the trade that you brought up oh yeah yeah I like that um I wouldn’t mind like Jeremy Grant I’m just a little iffy on him but I do have more confidence that like Jeremy Grant would be a much better like perimeter Defender than someone like ruy because I just feel like he’s he’s a lot faster right he’s like he’s skinnier he has quicker hand movements and [ __ ] like ruie he’s a little slow footed like he’s fast but like laterally he’s not as quick as somebody like Jeremy Grant is and I feel like when you saw him in Denver and like early in Detroit at times in like I would say like the Blazers when Dame was still there he was showing that he could be that Elite third fourth guy so I mean and also like I feel like one benefit to that is you don’t have to worry about chemistry problems you know damn well Jeremy Grant’s a starter with ruie some nights he looks like a starter some nights you’re unsure like you know like last year he was looking good then he ran into a bad match up in Denver and you want like it’s it’s a weird thing and it’s like I know we talk about DLo DLo either looks like a star or like you don’t even want him on the court you don’t even want him in your locker room that’s Ry I don’t not as it’s not that bad but it’s kind of a similar type of thing it’s like a higher low type thing I feel like Jeremy Grant like he’ll always find a way to stay on the court like that’s one thing I feel like people underestimate um I feel like but the thing with Robert Williams bro is that he’s just been so injury-prone man like he’s last season he’s barely played that many games like in order to make this trade man I would say like he has to show me he can stay healthy for at least a month but on the flip side he won’t you won’t have to you won’t really be requiring him to like play starters minutes so maybe that could switch things a little bit but that’s my thoughts on that trade but I’m I’m 100% down with brother listen um this this trade the reason I I made it the way it is it it’s mainly because there has to be an incentive for both teams to make a trade ruy is the incentive and then the other two are kind of throwaways if they want to uh Jeremy Grant is on what league wide is considered to be a bad contract this is why I threw him in this deal you in order to make a deal you have to incentivize other teams like okay what are you doing for me well I’m taking a bad contract off your hands and I’m giving you a valuable young asset in ruy hachimura this and the reason I propos this is because I didn’t want to include picks in in in that trade so that’s why that trade is that but I I agree you know it’s not the best tra I’m saving the best for last so let’s bring in our next caller man my good friend so what’s up Brody how you doing hey what’s going on D how you feeling man feeling a little bit better you know slept off the pain from last night bro took a couple of shots and uh you know I’m a new man today how you how you feeling I’m feeling good I’m feeling good I’m liking uh how the team’s looking yeah yeah I mean overall 10 and five is really good we can’t really [ __ ] about that you know it’s a really good start to the season and it’s better than I expected did you expect us to be 10 and five this early bro um no I didn’t think we be at this point right now but I’m I’m glad we’re here um the you know all those role games that we lost was you know I feel like we should be better than what we are right now but we are still dealing with a bunch of injuries a new coach you know new new uh players getting into the mix so you know there a lot of Kinks that we got to work out at the beginning of the Season absolutely um is there any glaring issues with this roster that you wish they would correct right now before it gets out of hand because you know sometimes you build bad habits and that free throw issue for me is personal now bro because it’s not the first year that this happened right we’ve had La the last couple Seasons there been a couple of games we’ve lost at the free throw land it’s always heartbreaking and it has potential to come back and bite you at the end of the season but is is there anything that stands out to you that you feel like the Lakers have to iron out honestly it’s a lot man it’s a lot we have transition defense problems right re throw problems have rebounding issues those are all things that you have to have in order to be a championship contender in the NBA if you’re not rebounded you’re not hitting your free throws if you’re not getting back on transition if you’re not hitting your three-pointers you know if you’re not you know doing the things that are required because honestly in the playoff in the playoff scenario it’s uh you got to get your hands dirty it’s all about grit and grind you know all the shots aren’t going to fall what are you going to do are you going to be able to get back on defense are you going to be able to get those important rebounds are you going to get the 50-50 balls I don’t see there’s not a lot of dogs on this team that bring that energy you know that bring that spark that could bring that spark Off the Bench to make things happen we were hoping that Gabe could be that guy but he’s he’s about as bad as Kendrick nun was know it’s like you know and uh and DLo he’s a diva at at this point you know I’m I’m kind of upset at myself that I kind of vouch for him and I wanted him to stay because he was so hot you know and he’s you know we drafted him and I wanted to see him do well but at this point he hasn’t had a good game since last regular season honestly all all the playoffs he is trash summer league he was trash pre-season he was trash and he’s trash now so it’s like you know I’ve seen enough of him I don’t know I don’t want him coming off the bench because he’s just that bad I’d rather see gabes two points than to see this guy on the floor because he’s just disappointing how are you missing so many wide open threo shots you’re not wrong especially D’Angelo Russell especially since since we acquired him I’m the same way bro I always love players as long as they’re on the team I love him but since we acquired him he started at a high remember when we first got him he had a couple of 27 30 point games some gamewinners then the playoffs he disappeared next season he starts off slow he gets benched right by Darin ham and then he goes on that heater from the end of December all the way into like what was it like early March before March started I think February maybe late February and then he disappeared again in the playoffs that’s when I had enough I’m like you know what that’s back-to-back playoffs I don’t want to wait till the third strike because it might be too late for LeBron and AD by then I think we already had this conversation right we were I think when you came on around the league we talked about DLo and and how I felt about him and how I just wanted him out of here because I don’t believe in him now what’s worse is that we all seen it during the media day his body language was off to start and that right there like I seen that and I was like it’s not going to work out it’s just not because he mentally checked out you know and check out that’s what you get yeah I was through with him at the playoffs because you know he had a bad game and then he got onto the sideline is eating chicken wings or something and I like oh no bro you you know man I remember that yeah and that right there that did it for me because I’m like this guy is just he he’s he’s not for the team he’s for s you know you get on the podcast and talk this and that oh I’m I’m a dog you know I’m a killer you know what I mean but when you get on the court you show the complete opposite and if you’re really that you don’t really you don’t have to say it you know you show it through your your your play on the court yeah so I’m done with DLo any trade to get him out of here bye see you yeah I agree g go too go ahead say I said Gabe can go too I agree and that’s and that’s another part where we’re lacking we need some we need a point guard because I like Austin Reeds but he’s he’s Hit or Miss hit or miss one day he’ll be on next day he’ll be off you know what I’m disappointed about with Reeves is that he started off the season really well he was averaging 19 points per game six assists and he was doing amazing at home and then he wasn’t doing so hot on the road right um and then this last little home stand the last couple games he’s been trash it’s been absolute trash so I’m like I’m trying to gauge him because you know what I love Austin R I think he’s crucial to the team whether he comes off the Ben or starts that’s irrelevant to me as long as he gets a lot of minutes but I think he’s crucial to the team right now but the way he’s looked the last couple of games I’m really concerned about him and I hope he turns it around um go ahead I think it’s like that because we have no backup point guard to help him at all you know it’s like once he sits down it’s like DLo comes in and everything just goes downhill right he we need a backup guard that can help carry that burden because when Austin’s off maybe we could have this guy come in he can knock down some shots you know and take the pressure off him a little bit yes sir but we have none of that coming off of the bench we need another you know our bench is atrocious right now bro and and I actually like the prospect of bringing in another guy off the bench for this Austin or ruy just to kind of spark up the uh you know the offensive uh the bench right now really quick James my guy CJ says hey Dan what do you guys think of trading with the 76 to get Drummond Kelly UB or KJ Martin if available um look man me personally I I feel like me I feel like we had Drummond already and he didn’t prove he could shine in the bright lights you know he looks great in Philly uh or wherever he’s playing right now but I just I’m not so sure about Drummond how you feel about it solo I don’t like Drummond man I mean I like him he’s a good he’s a good player whatever but he don’t work out here and he got those junior Whopper hands man like he can’t catch the ball yeah he can’t catch the ball he’s getting on my nerves right he’s fumbling the ball I’m like bro you gotta go you can’t handle the ball get out of here yeah facts I I do like the other pieces you mentioned though Kelly UB would be a nice addition Off the Bench and KJ Martin but I feel like we got our trior who kind of does what a little bit of what KJ Martin would bring as far as the uh uh intensity and excite you know I really like arml and of course Quincy aliv who they got to they have to bring up for sure right so like he has to be called up soon hopefully um uh oh yeah I have one more thing for you solo I have to show you because you was very critical my first trade and rightfully so it was something I put in together real quick how what do you think of this trade here and I will explain to you what it is so essentially what it is is Cal kosma coming back to LA because he’s having a career low year and I think his trade value is the lowest I don’t think anybody wants to be in Washington so I don’t blame him and Jonas valunas who will help us on the glass and just another big body to set screens and maybe some midies here and there um for Dow gay Vincent jayen Hut Shino and two second round picks now you you might ask why in the hell would the Wizards do that well for one Jonas valunas is on is a one-year deal uh or is it what is it two three-year deal but that was always going to be a trade piece right there right always going to be a trade piece and kusma trade value is the lowest ever if we have to throw in a first round pick I’d still do this uh but they get DLo who they can then flip for somebody else if they want to keep acquiring assets they get Gabe who I think is on a team option on a second year and they get Jaylen Hino who’s on a one-year deal so essentially this is a salary dump right for them plus you get two second round picks out of that do you like it love it or hate it man how you feel about it and why I love it I love it bring Cool’s back you know he bald out with us he plays he plays solid defense jonis is another big body that we can have next to ad that can help with on the defensive end to kind of open up um ad for his offense um I want to see more of ad’s offense and him not to have so much uh responsibility on the defense so any help and then and he’s really good at grabbing boards so right that would that would really help this team out because we need some some more rebounding uh to add it to this team so yeah I absolutely love that but with this trade we definitely have to show up that point guard position yeah no for sure for sure man um and and the reason I don’t know if you noticed I’m holding back on the first round picks as much as possible because I feel like first round picks are Elite now like if you’re gonna swing a trade for a first round for the first round picks we have I feel like you almost have to bring back a star and return so how would you feel about potentially going going out there and getting us a true point guard and Damien Lillard who might be attainable by the trade deadline that’s where in my opinion that’s where you use the first round picks how you feel about we mess around get D dollar is over with right it’s because a lot of people don’t want him I don’t know why I understand that he struggled in Milwaukee but listen everybody struggles with Milwaukee it’s Milwaukee nobody wants to be there I mean they don’t know you the thing about Milwaukee is that you know you have a superstar there who really doesn’t want to be there you know and he’s trying to make all these changes and things aren’t working and he’s not the guy that we knew when he first came into the league that guy that was hungry the guy who didn’t care about where he was at you know now now he’s feeling himself you know where before he didn’t want to join the super team he was like forget all that now it’s looking a little bit more uh uh likely that he’ll be joining a super team right you so that hunger that he wants head I don’t think is really there anymore he wants to go the easy route you know and I think that’s having a a negative effect on the rest of the team yeah I agree with that bro and you know what at the end of the day whatever the Lakers are cooking up it it better be great because we have an MVP candidate a rookie of the year candidate one of the goats on the team Austin Reed who should be on uh an improved season we actually have a good team we we haven’t became a great team yet and last night they proved that because those are the the type of teams great teams win you know those are the type of games great teams win they execute down the stretch but I think becoming a great team is not so far-fetched I think it’s within reach and we make a deal or two and this is why again I’ve been holding back on the first round picks on these trades for the most part because I think the Lakers if if there’s a chance to pounce on like a Damen Lillard or a player of that magnitude they’re gonna do it man I think it’s the time what you know I might be overreaching here but I I feel like that’s the only type of player that you trade the first two two first round picks for I think those have an insane amount of of value especially the fact that they’re in 2029 and Beyond which means no LeBron for sure and most likely no ad around that time so that the the team could be in a flux and if that happens what if you’re trading away a generational Talent like Wy from the future you know so again it has to be if you’re gonna gamble it all for the for the uh for you know it has to be for the trophy right and I think none of the moves I’ve mentioned really officially put us over the top but I think if he do those moves and then you pivot and do a big move like Damien Lillard now you’re talking right now you’re really talking so um the other one I think is not really that possible um the thing that happened in the game man I think the Lakers self-destructed and did whatever they can to lose I know a lot of people were saying that the free throws and yeah that’s a big part of it but there was two other points one they the Lakers stopped going to what works which was feeding ad and then giving the ball to LeBron and then giving it the third option Doon connect and yeah they just had Reeves chucking up shots and DOW chucking up shots and man dude like that’s I think that’s one of the reasons why they lost the game absolutely you’re right man it’s it’s it’s been honestly it’s been you know we were on cloud n because we won six in a row and we had to kind of get humbled a little bit by that loss because we lost to a team that even though they’re very good in the East we should be better than them we have five games above 500 we should been better than we should have beat them but that’s the beauty of basketball right nothing happens as it should every game is a surprise and this is why we get really excited when we actually go on five to six game win streaks because it’s the NBA any team can win on any given night and so France Vagner sunk my heart into my stomach with that shot but it was a great shot for him and for his you know for their City unfortunately you’re right the Lakers self-destructed we have a lot of room room for improvement and let let me ask you this I’m curious which one of the two trads did you like and which one did you not the one I liked was the Washington Wizards I think that’s possible we get a wing and we get a big that we badly needed and the one I didn’t like was the Blazers one because I do think that both the players are kind of injury-prone and also like I don’t think that Jeremy gr’s worth that $40 million contract and plus I don’t think the Blazers will do it because they don’t like yeah they definitely don’t like the Lakers I can’t remember the last time we made a trade with the Blazers so you’re right about that they never but you know what you know what um you’re the final caller so I will uh show my final trade and again I started gradually I went from worst to best I cooked these up like 10 minutes before I went live so I just kind of thought of what I think could fix the Lakers but I have the ultimate trade here for you man and I want to get your thoughts you seem like a lot you I leave well I can’t hear you say it again all right can I um can I do one trade I have one trade proposal oh yeah tell tell us go ahead tell us your trade this is kind of like uh I know a lot of people won’t be a fan of it because I’ve never wanted to trade this player he’s a homegrown kid but what would you give up for Austin Reed it would have I would have to bring back Trey young or Damen Lillard in any Austin Reed deal it has to be a star player yeah have to be a star player or somebody who’s like slightly better and to me I don’t know man I just been pondering about this I’m thinking why don’t we just get Cam Thomas I’m pretty sure they’ll do it without a pick if you know we straight up just go up to them tell them hey Austin Reed for cam Thomas and who knows maybe we can um trade V or Gabe Vincent and and add a pick and get Cam Johnson as well now now before a lot of people here start going like oh they won’t do that or you know start messing with this trade just think about this cam Thomas Dalton connect cam Johnson LeBron and AD and then Off the Bench you can trade DLo because DLo money wise he makes the same amount as Walker Kesler and Colin seon so now those five that I mentioned plus you got Colin seon and Walker castler coming off from You Off the Bench with um max Christie and with um cam reddish I think that’s a championship roster what do you think about my trade well uh I like cam Thomas two things about cam Thomas for one I think he’s better suited on a championship team Off the Bench I don’t think he’s a start caliber player he’s a high volume scorer meaning he needs a lot of shots he’s not too efficient he he can get hot I’ve seen him get hot especially against our Lakers but I like him Better Off the Bench I had proposed something different um to bring cam Thomas as our six-man and to fix our our our problems but I do like your trade proposal except I think we need to keep Austin unless we get an actual star who can run the point guard position because I feel like Austin can run the point and I I think LeBron has really thrived with Austin running the point because Austin can also play off ball and DLo can’t and a lot of point guards cannot play off ball meaning it’s gonna take LeBron off of a rhythm right so for me I don’t want to trade Austin for cam Thomas if I do trade for cam Thomas and Nick claxon I think it’s a bigger uh piece that we should acquire than the other Thomas kid uh what was his name cam Johnson I I think even more than a wing we need a big man so but I do like your your Walker Kessler and all of that it’s just for whatever reason I feel like the Lakers be able to make one maybe two trades Max not a lot of teams that are willing to deal with with the Lakers but I I do like cam Thomas I just don’t like him for Austin Reed because I feel like it we getting something back but we’re losing something similar to the dejon trade rumors that were a couple years back we’re you know thinking of trading re for for deante it wouldn’t have worked because you’re getting a ball handler and better on ball point of attack Defender but then you’re losing an offall player who can playmake and and score in a flurry as well right so for me for me I present you uh this final trade I have man and I think this is this will be one of the better ones here and this is with the Utah Jazz I feel like it it it solves a lot of issues here right so I want to trade Jordan CL for Jordan Clarkson and Walker Kessler and the Lakers offload D’Angelo Russell jayen Hino who apparently they’ve been interested in I don’t know why don’t ask and then a first round pick and if they throw in another piece I’m willing to even lift the protection off the first round pick they currently have so um if we get a wing play or something else we need from them I’m even willing to lift that protection but to me this trade is my favorite one what do you think of this trade I’ll ask you yo you still there bro hello Mamba all right we lost Mamba we lost Mamba hopefully he’s able to get that recalibrated but what do you guys think of uh this TR I know KD likes they give up this big piece that they have because they’re not even using him he’s been hurt anyways right so yeah my boy likes he said bring him home he said I guess he don’t like it yeah I think he lagged out I think bro lagged out but uh if he wants to come back I will definitely drop the link if he can if he can’t that’s fine we’re almost going to end a phone call Friday I also have um I will be smart about and this is why I think Ro palinka has also partially why he hasn’t done any trades I think almost every team is expecting both of our first round picks because they want us to be desperate but I think it’s also key that the Lakers are actually trying to uh win before they make deals because that also puts us in a position of power you know and and if we’re in a position of power then we have a golden opportunity to make a fair trade a fair trade is a lot like the ones I’ve been showing you guys these are Fair Trades right the first one and and and I’m gon recap the trades I went from worst to best I’m going to recap the trades for you guys for those of you that joined late here it goes the first one was this this one right here now this one I’m not a huge fan of but I would actually like the upgrade at the center position and Jeremy Grant is somewhat of an upgrade at the wing position so Jeremy Grant Robert Williams for Dow ruy and Gabe um you know it’s primarily uh what do you call it it’s it would primarily be a salary dump for them and also they get a young piece and ruy so I think it’s a win-win both ways right and then my second trade let’s see if I could uh just pop it up here on the machine this is a better trade so gradually I made them better and better some might argue this is my best trade I proposed C kman and Jonas Val chunis another salary dump uh they get off of the contracts they probably don’t want and KY they get the tank they get D who they can then reroute elsewhere they get Gabe um who I think is on a te yeah is I think it’s a team option for the second year which means it’s a one-year rental and another one-year rental in jayen h chafino plus two second round picks in the past we’ve been able to get players like ruy with second round picks I don’t expect uh too many things to change here since draft pi are now worth a bit more and then the final trade that I propos and this my favorite one personally you get Jordan Clarkson you get Walker Kesler you give up DLo you give up jayen H Chino and another first round pick since that’s what they love the Utah Jets love first round picks so again whether you’re in gonna be productive if it gets his Grant Williams and we could solve two problems with one right so I i’ I’d be wanting to get a especially because the salary smoothing is going to happen over the next couple of years meaning that the cap is going to go up and that contract might not look so bad in the future Seasons right so a lot of different things are going to happen oh he doesn’t have a
