that stands out it started with a 2-1 win for Chelsea on Enzo mesa’s return to Leicester City Arsenal back to winning ways they beat Nottingham Forest a four goal Thriller at villet Park between astonvilla and Crystal Palace Brighton managing victory over Bournemouth goess at goodison Park Everton and brenford not managing to find the back of the net and then wolves with two wins in a row now they went and did it at Craven Cottage also scoring four goals Tottenham at the ettihad while Spurs would have enjoyed that result you know who else would have enjoyed it Liverpool fans because they play Southampton tomorrow Manchester United and IP switch as well um and then we have Monday Night Football Newcastle against West Ham to round out match week 12 in the Premier League we’ve got so much to get through as we analyze that match for you and we will get there in a little bit but confirmation and the reason why I’m saying that Liverpool fans would have enjoyed that because they already have a five-point Gap and have played a game less now they play bottom of the table Southampton tomorrow and they play City next weekend City in second Spurs are up to sixth place then in the Premier League 19 points let’s look at the bottom of the table because there is confirmation as I mentioned that Southampton are Rock Bottom IP switch and Crystal Palace also in the danger zones already a four-point gap there and wolves with that second victory in a row on now out of the relegation places and up to nine points we’ve got so much to talk about it was for all those away fans that have gone there today cuz even at half time I’m sure they were going oh I said it this game isn’t over anything could still happen and they were excellent the way they managed the game and I think Ben Davis deserves a very special mention because I think him coming in and I’ve seen him play he’s come on in a couple of games when Romero or um van Deen’s been injured and I thought he was very assured and he’s one of those sort of players that doesn’t get the credit he deserves he can fill in at right back left back he actually to going at Center back against one of the most ferocious Center forwards in World football what did he do Dro off he knew exactly where he used his brain that’s exactly what he did he got tight when he needed to I just thought he was he was outstanding and what about K’s performance never mind Madison yeah keski has been Spurs best player this year I’ve been so impressed with him he it feels like his game is just going to another level now there’s a real every game he’s at it he can play in the 10 he can play wide as I said I wondered if he why he didn’t play in the 10 today but I think the manager got that absolutely right that’s why he’s the manager um but they were they were brilliant today and KES here especially I’m not sure we’re going to be talking to after but you could have given any of those Spurs players man in a match today they were excellent yeah I’m I’m really looking forward to to speaking to anyone from that Spurs dressing room just to get the lad down on on that fantastic fantastic performance and victory but but you can say that after today if you like I don’t say mastered um I’ve like grown to to the knowledge of of when to make the runs and what the experience I’ve got see 28 today it’s been what I was spoking about um I’m experienced now and I know that that running in behind as a midfielder from deep can be very very effective and it was today here and was it particularly effective against City at the moment because they seem vulnerable in those sort of movements well it’s been quite effective for me all season I just I’ve had quite a lot of chances actually from running and behind from deeper passes and I just haven’t put any away but it was nice to get that one where Dey as soon as Dei uh put cut in on his left foot I knew if I Ed the Run well he’s got the quality to find me and it was just getting a good contact on it but it’s nice to see the stuff that we work on the training ground cuz I do work on them runs a lot um come into fruition and get a goal from it and in terms of the result for your season as well what can it do for Tottenham Hotspur season because it’s it’s been disappointing so far you came into this game 11th obviously you’ve risen with the three points but where can you go from here after that how much confidence does it give you yeah well I think I think the performances have actually been okay this season I think obviously supporters and people in the media get carried away they’re very emotional you lot um get very High when there’s wins and very low when there’s losses and uh it’s our job as professionals to stay neutral stay levelheaded if we’ beat ipwi last week we would have been third beond Liverpool and City so there’s a there’s context to it you know um hopefully it can kick start a good run we’re we’re doing well in Europe uh we’re in the quarterfinal of caribel with a home with a home draw so the season The Season’s been okay just haven’t quite strung the performance uh the results together that probably maybe the some of the performances Des we had a couple of blips like the I which came as a blip where the performance wasn’t good enough but in the whole I think it’s actually been all right so hopefully this can kick start a good win and run again thank you James happy birthday cheers you get very emotional you lot I like that quote he’s right you lot do get very emotional and I do now because I’m sitting on this side um no it’s a great great day for Tottenham great day for him himself he hasn’t been First Choice in that side but when you get the opportunities to start the game you have to go and produce and he certainly did that today Hit the Floor running in the first half for two great goals from him um but he was instrumental and Tottenham when they had possession just keeping it finding the right pass at the right time um I think the managers got to take a lot of credit and I know I want to give him a huge amount of credit but also the players who come in and done the job today you know dragon and and Ben Davis at the back there you know were absolutely outstanding goalkeeper vakaro was outstanding again today um so yeah all positive and and I agree with James I don’t think the league position of 11th before the kickoff today I don’t think it was a disappointing season look how tight it is now you know they’re right out there this will give them huge confidence to really climb the table and start winning some games in Cup competitions as well because the Holy Growl for Tottenham fans is and the players to win some silverware for the club it will be to finish in the Champions League spot but for the fans and the players to win a trophy might it have been different M had City scored with one of those moments in the opening 10 minutes yeah you could say that we could say that about any game I think think it’s more about what Spurs had to offer today and how they executed their plan I thought there was really well organized they they knew exactly when to press exactly know when to to drop they nullified the threat of Harland in terms of the space in behind to let him have the ball to feet a lot in the game and then he would go into the box to get them shots off in the first half but I just think Spurs played the game plan perfectly today and Man City at times didn’t know how to break them down yes the expected goal should have probably scored one or two but the story of the game is about Spurs and how good they were Man City at the moment five five losses now I’m seeing little bits in their game which need improving and on the ball perfect in terms of onews passing and all that sort of thing but off the ball the yard off it they’re not winning the tackles all things that made Man City a brilliant team not just the work on the ball it’s off the ball the pressing the pressing High being aggressive all them things in today’s and over the last five fixtures seen little sort of cracks in their game too easy to play against M we’re all everyone’s going to talk about rodri because of the impact that he has but it isn’t just R rodri you obviously got kovic you got Ruben Diaz who’s a leader of men in that that back four he’s the talker the communicator they miss him Kevin De bruy is in and out the team not at his best I still think Alvarez was is a massive blow to this team where you can bring him on Spurs had players missing as well today yeah but I’m talking about to I’m talking about man city in the moment so man city up are off here at the moment they are short so that’s where they the the things aren’t quite clicking in Midfield that balance gang couldn’t get around the pitch today he couldn’t get near anybody and it the the focus wasn’t right the balance wasn’t right with Rico Lewis and and foden and um Bernardo Silva they didn’t have enough energy to get around him and once Tottenham scored the confidence came Madison started to get on the ball you could see that his tail was up that’s the sort of player that he is and then he was excellent but the fact that you can’t score a goal against that the two center backs of Ben Davis and dragan I just that that for me that’s that’s the biggest worry because they they didn’t have that clinical Edge did you see a difference in Tottenham once they’d scored the goal oh 100% they sort of had that the aura that confidence we know Madison and we know how good he can be at times he’s been frustrated cuz he he feels like he should be playing he can make the difference but when Madison plays like this he is very difficult to contain I just thought from start to finish and it’s not just because he scored goals it was the positions he was picking up in the Midfield where Rico Lewis didn’t know where to go with him and then it was a way of the pass anything he did today was just clinical I think you played him a bit of we do it sometimes we’ all been left out you’ve been left out I’ve been left out of teams a bit of anger because he’s had to see keski come into that 10 roll and how well he’s playing and he probably thought to himself in this International break will I be starting again game with his magnitude and he came in and he really proved his point today and that’s what I like to see because some players sulk some players think well I’ve not been in the team for a while he came in and he was really effective there’s been J hasn’t there people almost writing him off already yeah I agree mate and he it’s difficult for him because of you know you see you you know you’ve got that professional jealousy if you like of seeing another player do so well and he’s like well how I going to get into this team and then today the manager made a what I I would call you know an interesting move he bought him into to the 10 and he was magnificent I’m actually saying that cuz I know he’s in the screen behind me say could be anything this game and city for the first 10 minutes looked very very comfortable creating chances but then Jamie how did Spurs carve them open well obviously good play by Spurs fantastic from keski very calm for 13 minutes they couldn’t really get the ball once keski gets this ball here he’s too strong for guardio guardio then decides to back off you can see James Madison number 10 Exquisite ball it’s perfect and then can you get that left foot onto it can you get a good touch and make sure you get the finish this for me it doesn’t matter if you’re you got obviously no Roder no kovic what gundan does here is really basic it’s so wrong you can see James Madison’s going to run you’ve now got a match that run Jon Stones has got a problems he’s got salanki and when he passes him on and it’s too late you can’t afford to do that just go would would have gone with him well anyone would you have to you don’t have to be rodri to do it that is part of a detail of being a central Midfield player you know that Jon Stones is in no look at these facials here look his eyes are wide can I get the right cont EAS finish is it really good finish and a man that’s not played that many games second one very different M away yeah I I I just like the fact the way Spurs press in in terms of they know exactly where they need to be you see s going really high Madison waiting waiting for that opportunity and then pouncing what’s good about this is that little touch to taking Rico Lewis away and then the Run round fantastic ball from Sun and a brilliant finish but we would we was asking oursel how would Spurs set up and I think they’ve been brave I think man city were good for the first 20 minutes after that they all know their jobs waiting is about being patient going at the right moment and that’s exactly what they do Rico Lewis has found it really hard against Madison he’s absolutely ran the game touches of course I mean Madison on his birthday two goals he’s been sensal and when you asked before what’s the game’s going to beat was always going to be an open game because of the results in this fixture and the attack attacking quality they’ve got on show and just look at that for a little dep touch there Little D touches fantastic which was strangely lacking I suppose you could say from Harland in the opening exchanges yeah Vicario made a couple of really good saves and doesn’t quite have that killer instinct this is what I was talking about the first 10 minutes it was so open you thinking har and surely’s going to score decides to come inside doesn’t get the finish right in that occasion and they certainly had chances is Manchester City this I think this one was at one- n can he get the right finish on it no good save by ricario they’ve just been leggy Spurs have been too energetic in Midfield I think gundan has really struggled in there he hasn’t been out to deal with the intensity of this match but it’s definitely not over Michael no it’s definitely not over I think the difference with those chances as well we thought about Spurs as their position of Defenders you see aot Harlem was going wide and then coming in they’re not running in behind so they just altered their position a little bit remember yeah I think every time we played against Spurs in possibly what the last three four maybe even five years um City dominate create loads of chances Come Close Keepers always pull off saves and then Spurs have a knack that they either get something off a sloppy play or they hit us in transition and they seem to take those chances that they get and I think that’s exactly what they’ve done in this game I think Madison’s runs and his finishes I think have been unbelievable he’s they’ve played the game really well in terms of dealing with whatever they possibly can that City throw at them and their minimum of chances that they’re going to get try and capitalize off them well let’s look at the first of those goals as you tell us what Spurs have done right in the first it’s real quality and it’s co SEI back on that right hand side I talked about him playing centrally and how dominant he was in central Midfield viio has to do better but once he turns inside here this pass and the run there from from Madison is exquisite the pass the trajectory of the PASS gives Stones AB absolutely no chance he thinks he can win the header Gund gon there who’s got him he has to stay with him he passes him over to Jon stones but look at the flight of that ball I mean it’s just nothing John can do and it’s a wonderful finish from Madison we wondered why Madison was playing instead of Johnson now we know the answer and poo knew exactly what he wanted from him he wanted someone with the quality to keep the ball in the right areas and that the calmness and the quality to punish the mistakes of Man City and they certainly done that in the first half yeah that was the first goal from Madison he was to score a second his first ever brace for Spurs this is the second goal Sean yeah it is and the sloppy play from someone you don’t really expect so much in terms of these cleanness but what Spurs do after that and matters the way he picks up the ball in that space and he he passes but he follows his run he runs round in round goes inside and then goes round him but the composure where he slows himself down after the first touch and he kind has a quick look to see where Edison is and he knows from that minute as soon as he sees to just lift it over him it’s it’s brilliant finish brilliant reverse pass from son but I think Edison has to do better I think he makes his mind up when he comes rushing out like that there’s only one finish Madison can do I think if he stays where he is it’s G him a lot more uh chance to save it I suppose most frustrating for you Sean is that that you have had chances um not so much frustrating for me but but for them and obviously the people in The Stand um this hair I think he’s first touch has to go towards his right foot kind of get stuck under his feet and then after then he tries to reverse it so that that chance is gone but for harand that nor they’re normally goals in terms of that’s a great turn there by svenia um and he does what I think he should have done but keeper keeper pulls off a great save he could have maybe reversed it but then there’s a chance of he getting blocked by the defender and this is something city did they just kept probing didn’t they to him and they was creating half chances I mean we’re talking about ER Harland they prolific goal scorer who scored unbelievable amounts of goals both in Champions League and Premier League he could have the match ball at halftime so if I’m man P I’m showing the Tottenham players them chances and saying we’re two n up we’ve done well on a counter but be careful they’re still very very dangerous score lines there are and in terms of normally if that team gets one goal back momentum shifts massively yeah what would they need to do though for City especially in that Midfield where they’re getting overrun a little bit yeah well you I can understand how they’re getting overrun in terms of when you got Pedro tucking inside at times and then you got IND doy in there plus you got Madison and then you got bassum and saw um it it’s normal and I don’t feel like in many ways Bernardo and gundan as well as ree have the legs to contain all of that when we got the ball there fine it’s just the opposite way around so should imagine he he would have mentioned something like that in that Locker
