then we’ll get to your live Q&A up next this is not part of a tournament game again keep me in my Lane Matt Cox this is a Samford home game correct Samford at home with North Dakota State here getting North Dakota State getting 10 as the road team total 157 we saw Samford battle Michigan State tough last week all right what stood out for the angle about this game on a Tuesday night before Thanksgiving Matt I’m going to keep this one simple uh yes this is in fact a home game I think there is initially reported or listed as a neutral site in Birmingham but it is this is at the Pete Hannah Center which is one of the better mid- major environments of all college basketball right this sford has really built their whole identity around being awesome at home they pressure they play with depth they get after you it’s much like West Virginia was back under Bob Huggins and it forces it puts a lot of pressure on the refs to to police the whistle and generally when you’re at home you tend to get a friendlier whistle it tends to Bild well for teams that pressure and that come at you with waves uh of bodies and that’s exactly what Sanford doing this season they’re not quite as talented as they were last year but they’re still very deep and I think a little bit underrated um they’ve had a week off I think got people’s attention after that Michigan State game last Tuesday played Sparty very close we’ve now seen Sparty look pretty good in Maui I think that that game will age well for sford and on the other North Dakota State coming in who supposed to be a veteran team this season under Dave Richmond but they got some injury question marks uh Jack Simone and Miller I believe both missed last game not D1 game uh I’ll add so it could have been just rest but I mean they limped by Minnesota crookton um 6760 and their point guard has not uh Demari wheeler has not been out there this season he’s he’s hurt he’s still recovering they don’t have any clear pressure handlers I just think this could be a bloodbath and a a war that theis are walking into and a game that frankly means absolutely nothing um and again this is one of those weird local site host mte so both these teams are playing back toback tomorrow and on Thursday if the bison are down 78 late in the second half I don’t see any fight from to come back in this game I think this is a complete fall over and so I’m going to kind of lean on a brittle ball handling team here with the uh with the Bulldogs at home minus 10 what did you say Minnesota what that’s on their list kook pretty good prog I don’t have the D2 or na rankings in front of me currently but I believe uh it’s a respected program at that level TJ so alwaysa hey Minnesota kon’s always a tough out in November babe oh yeah uh Jeff Nao any thoughts again West Georgia and Utah Valley are the other two teams that are in this tournament so it’s clearly set up for Samford to rock and roll any thoughts including the total Jeff here appr not a particularly strong program the last couple of years eight wins over the last two seasons okay well there you go maybe you’re maybe you’re getting them confused with another Minnesota school that maybe St Thomas not of the Virgin Islands but of Minnesota or another uh that said I I love this play for Matt and I here’s why um you know how you get blown out quick in this sport uh it’s when you shoot a bunch of threes and you’re not good at shooting threes which is what North Cota state does um 14th nationally in three point attempts to field goal attempts uh they’re only shooting it at about 32% what that means is quick run outs especially against teams like Sanford who play quick got to get going to get some extra possessions here and they’re going to go go go they got plenty of kids on the bench to come in and and help out their uh starting five to me I I was surprised to see this number maybe out a little higher I don’t think North Dakota State’s very good and I noticed last season in a conference that has a couple of teams that play Pace Denver uh which is a group that play a lot of pace North Dakota State went 0 and2 against them and I think lost both by close to double digits I agree with this handicap I like Sanford as well all right Matt Cox again is making the play here again that sford team we talked about them yesterday in your absence Matt they LED Michigan State by double figures like Midway through the first half and then Michigan State rided the ship obviously came back and won the game at the bresin center uh now let’s see what it’s worth here for Samford at home on this Tuesday night and Matt Cox says let’s get after it with the sford Bulldogs laying the 10 uh here in the matchup with Dakota State [Music]
