[Music] [Music] he welcome back to the channel and welcome back to another edition of the Spurs chat podcast in this Edition we’ll be looking back at that fantastic win at the deih had Stadium Manchester City nil Tottenham 4 now we’re live on YouTube we’re live on X and Facebook and twitch this evening we will also be previewing the totam hbur V Roma game in the Europa League which of course takes place on Thursday evening at the Tottenham hburg Stadium 8:00 pm kickoff now before I get into it an announcement from Tottenham hosur football club around 20 minutes ago it states we can confirm that goalkeeper Vicario has today undergone surgery for a fracture on his right ankle Vicario will be assessed by a medical staff to determine when he can return to training this is absolutely terrible news for totam HB football club particularly after such a fantastic win and everyone being on a high right now it just seems that these sorts of things happen time after time now back with me is three returning guests and this is an international podcast this evening we have got Italian journalist Simone delum back with us of course director uh we football station Simone great to have you here how are you I’m fine mate I’m fine delighted to be back uh to be back on the show great to have you here um also joining us is Gareth mcginness all the way from Ireland Gareth good evening how are you all good Chris um great weekend um obviously bad news there just come out but um trying not to think about it too much and trying still on a high from the weekend so um oh great to be on Monday night as usual um looking forward to the podcast with the two boys good great to have you here Gareth and joining us from Melvin he’s just come back from Canada I tell you International podcast and a half Melvin you’re joining us from me um from molter now how are you yeah I’m well um it’s been a while since I’ve been on and uh specifically asked you to come back on um because obviously been a while and um needed to get some things out and I you know I listened to the Pod and had a seven hour flight from Canada and listened I think to about four or five podcasts in a row cuz I missed out you know so in my head I’m still living I lived out the I switch game and and and all the conversations we’ve had in between and and I’ve caught up now speak about City so you know excited to be back and and talk with you know with with Simone and Gareth and obviously yourself and um yeah looking forward to the podcast great to have you guys here um Simone let’s start the show with you this evening um this breaking news from Tottenham hbur football club in the last 20 30 minutes vicario’s today undergone surgery for a fracture on his right anle ankle this is Major news for Spurs isn’t it it’s terrible news it’s terrible news yeah definitely definitely of course in the season he has got he had got he has been got some troubles on set pieces but of course we are talking about one of the best goalkeepers in the in the Premier League uh so after 4 nil after a 40 away at the Ard there is no there is no that that was no needing need of of this news so let’s check let’s wait for for the scan let’s wait for to discover to find out how many how many weeks will he will he will he will miss in the in this couple of months uh it’s a sad news also because uh the SPs pictures are very very busy so we are heading to the Christmas period many many games a lot of points ahead a lot of point points that will describe the season so uh it’s a huge chance for f for frer foster uh let’s hope he it’s gonna be okay for the for the job from now until the end of the year we play 10 games in 30 Days Seven Premier League two uh Europa League and one League Cup um Gareth let’s get your thoughts on the news on Vicario um how long do you think he’s going to be out for it’s difficult to say it’ll depend on the the fracture itself um I’m assuming this happened when he went down in the game he would up he was a PO header from porro um and he jumped they won the ball and landed awkwardly and he was down receiving treatment and he played on I can only assume he played on through the adrenaline I remember was Nan broke his arm and funny enough until they score the winner against ason Villa one year so just the adrenaline of it all probably kicked in the fact that we were having such a good day he’s played on um maybe done more damage I’m not sure but he obviously must have reported it after the game players probably had Sunday off and then they come back on on Monday and had the had the scan and it’s obviously some sort of damage there and they they felt needed surgery I would imagine we not see him day well after Christmas middle of January hopeful of getting them back Derby maybe um that could be quite up on the I think spur AR quite sure themselves it’ll depend fast it heads um look one of those things that happens you know Liverpool have had injury problems their goalkeeper one of the best in the world and they’ve been fortunate enough they young goalkeeper like qu kellerer he’s been excellent for Ireland’s coming and done a great job I don’t think we have that luxury of you know I think Foresters a an older goal keeper past his best I don’t think he’s particularly great with his feet um and and you seen in the commentary game he he really struggled will he be will he be better from crosses um I’m not sure he doesn’t look particularly convinced in that game but maybe he just needs a run of games um look your second choice keeper is never going to be as strong as your first choice um all than Liverpool I don’t think there’s any our team maybe maybe Arsenal had it last year with Rams day but it’s impossible to keep two goalkeepers happy and I think that’s why you’ll see ker possibly move on from Liverpool they all want to play and you’re only going to play his injuries for Cup games so you know easy saying should we go and get another goalkeeper the reality is we won’t because Vicario will be back and he’s the number one unless you’re going to to get somebody better than Vicario um that’s not going to happen do you do you risk going for young goalkeeper like Austin um as he ready you’re who knows until he’s given the opportunity but I would imagine Fraser Forester is going to be the the goalkeeper in place until Vicario comes back and it always seems to happen I mean Baner was PL unbelievable before he got that injury um when he come back that last time I know he’s got the ban now but he had a really strong Danny got injured and I think it was vicario’s best game of the season on on Saturday you know it was excellent you know he does have to make too many outstanding saves but he made half decent saves look really really easy because he never parted anything he was very sure with his hands and he was very good in in the air so really for strit you only know what you hav and when he when he lose it and I guarantee over the next few weeks we’ll be praying for RAR to come back because think Fraser Forester is nowhere near the level of aario at at this moment in time so it’s going to be a tricky period there’s so many difficult games coming up but look we just really are going to have to outscore teams anyway I think that’s what we’ve been pretty much doing this season I know we got a clean sheet on Saturday but I think we’re scoring that many goals there are games we can win by outs scoring the opposition and we’re going to have to do that probably even more now but it’ll be interesting to see Chris cuz we done the we done the analysis shows early part of the season and we spoke about how they play out in the back and it does start with Vicario and he is quite good with the ball at his feet and that is going to be a huge loss not just his shot stopping but he’s have already get his plan from the back and Fraser Forester a keeper from a different generation where he wouldn’t agree up with that coaching he wouldn’t agree up with that philosophy um so it’s not something you should expec him to be great at um but ultimately it’s just going to be a big blow and we’re going to have to move on Chris it happens that a lot of teams get injuries and look the one thing I would say this year is we haven’t relied on one player at any at any time we had players out from time to time and we’ve coped well enough over a run a game so let’s just hope it’s the same Grant Jardine writes here um although Vicario is inconsistent there’s a massive Gap to our back backups which I completely agree with and I completely agree with you G I think Vicario had a fantastic game at the etti had um I called it the Dey had earlier uh but the etad stadium on on Saturday made some fantastic saves of course Manchester City were very wasteful in that final third but anything that came vicario’s way he dealt with extremely well Melvin in the last half hour I’ve seen on social media so many Spurs fans saying that we are cursed it seems like whenever we have something nice whenever we do something uh dramatic and uh you know fantastic and we’re all smiling of course I’ve no doubt that all four of us have been smiling you know throughout our Sunday you know gone into work today everyone strutting their stuff you know feeling absolutely fantastic about that win of the 8 had and then you know bang you know there goes the news um Monday evening it’s just so frustrating isn’t it yeah it’s it’s disappointing because I mean we don’t have really backup to him that’s adequately You Know cover you know you lose Romero dragons in fills in you lose you know midfielder another midfielder slots in the same with the wing I think I think he was the only really really weak weak spot in our team I don’t think we have adequate cover Foster was just brought in you know for in a way for financial reasons he was free he was English you know he counted as an English spot and um and I think we just stuck with him and we haven’t gotten to the to that to to replace him yet or or to find you know competition for for Vicario yet I think we’re getting there you know we’re going to need to fill in that spot but at the moment you know we left it short and I think in the summer we did mention we were light in that position and it was brought up on the podcast but you know this the previous season you know Vicario played the whole season and we didn’t have any problems so we just thought oh maybe we’d get lucky again and um I just did a quick Google search to see how long you know an ankle fracture lasts you know how long it takes to heal and and from Google it says you know depending on the body somewhere from six to 12 weeks so let’s say 10 weeks you know it’s going to be probably till next year till early early January till the guy plays again so thinking of the fixtures that we have you know pretty strong fixtures you know League League Cup Europa League Premier League it’s going to be tough and um it’s going to be a big ask for Fraser forer in in my head I’m already thinking yeah we’ll probably drop some points in the Premier League we’ll drop some points in the Europa League but the main one for me I really want to get through is the League Cup I really want to beat United and get in the next round and I think if we can get through that game with Fraser Foster and and and and we’ll have Vicario back I’m I’m processing this you know as we speak because the news broke only what 20 minutes ago so usually it takes me a couple of days until I have to speak about this on the Pod so the first thing I thought of was The League Cup and and how is that going to affect us because the league you know we can drop points because I don’t think we’re we’re ready to compete for for top four yet even though we Dro silly points and we’re we’re making we’re making steps in the right direction I said in the summer in August when we had our you know our chat one to one I I expected us to be you know up and down to have these type of Victories and to have you know theep switch kind of losses I expected us to to be for this to happen for man but we’re seeing improvements you know on the pitch and I don’t think an will say I mean this is another challenge for an an has been handed many challenges you know that he probably didn’t expect to face you know probably bonor getting a suspension for something silly like that wasn’t one of them but this is one probably was expecting and it’s not nice for the football club to have such injury you know at a crucial moment you know the Christmas period the games come thick and fast and you need to get points there because that probably makes or breaks makes or break your season so it’s going to be interesting I mean in in a good way and a bad way you know he could he could have ear couple of games or we could probably see how crucial Vicario is to this team you know it’s it’s going to it’s going to be scary at moments and it could be good hopefully you know it’s not such an impactful position but like like Garrett says you know he’s he’s a crucial part to the buildup and his his saves that he makes in games sometimes you know it saves us the three points often he makes crazy you know saves which which which save us the game you know often I I know this season it hasn’t happened as much as last season last season I mean without Vicario would’ probably finished much lower than we did but this season the defense and the Midfield has been helping out and we haven’t conceived such dangerous chances like we did last season so we’ll see I mean we’ll take it game by game and and and we’ll see Melvin just quickly on Vicario um or Fraser fer should I say um would you expect Fraser Foster to play all of these games now or will Brandon Austin get his opportunity because Brandon Austin signed a new contract at Tottenham recently he’s 25 years old yet to feature in the Premier League of course he has featured in many of the uh friendlies that we’ve played particularly during uh preseason um will an poog trust Brandon Austin finally uh because a number of managers haven’t um remind me Chris one of the backup goalkeepers in the preseason made a ridiculous save was it Austin Austin yeah he he made a really good save in the preseason and and people started to question why aren’t we giving him a chance so in in moments like this you have you have to take you have to take this opportunity to to try him you try him in the Europa League and save you know Foster for the Premier League I know we play Roma next and you want you want we got 10 games in 30 days literally a game every three days can can can you uh can you expect frasa forer to be playing all of those games in the next 30 days that’s probably at his age you you think not but but you we’ll see I mean postu will probably try to play Brandon Austin he’ll give him one or two games I just think the next game you you’ll give it to Fraser Foster so he gets a bit warmed up for the premier league and then when the Christmas period comes in and and maybe Fraser Foster has a small knock or or slightly there’s a bit of fatigue and needs a rest I think he’ll play Brandon Austin or or perhaps I’ll leave it to the manager I’m sure he’s experienced in this sort of thing but you know the Premier League gives you all types of challenges and this is probably one that he wasn’t really expecting but I’m sure all good managers you know they they try to think of the worst even though you know I’m sure in his mind he did he did think if if Vicario gets an injury I think I’m sure they’ve planned this through and and and hopefully they did say to themselves what if Vicario gets injured what are we going to do yeah and and they’ve discussed this internally and and and have a plan Simone of course we’ve mainly got you on to be talking about Roma later on in the show but before we do that and it must be a perfect fixture for you by the way not only to be covering uh Tottenham hbur v Roma in the Europa League in the Press Box at the tot hbur stadium and of course going into the training session as well um hbur way but of course you’re also a Spurs fan so let’s start by talking about that City game on Saturday evening absolutely fantastic City nil Tottenham albur 4 what again everything Jed everything worked in in the perfect way it was thebly the best the best page the best page of the last two three years for Tottenham because winning for nil is not something that happens every day so H result something incredible everyone everyone in the world was expecting back Guardiola and Man City to to to be back on their winning way to smash Tottenham to smash the ey line of an postu and the things went in the opposite direction so incredible performance uh I absolutely delighted to see James mtis on back at his best and then the rest his history of course thead what a hard work from Tom Solani that you are showing uh of course for me it’s not a player that is is is wor worth 75 Millions he needs he needs to he needs to perform he needs to show but even time because he he put he always put an incredible effort on the on the team so absolutely absolutely incredible so delighted to see the team performing in this way uh but of course you know very well my my feelings my thoughts about an postu uh he needs it’s impossible in modern football in a long run like is the Premier League thir game to be and to perform on top level week in and week out so he needs to start to understand that some sometimes in football you need to you need to win even one nil you need to win the with the dirty side of the game just like Joseph Mourinho used to say Antonio G used to say on their times at the club so it’s impossible to play that kind of football we in and week out so I want to see reaction I want to see motivation I want to see consistency I want to see a SPS side taking the momentum with f with sides like Bou and it’s going to be and it’s going to be easy because we are talking about a side that was capable of winning 4 nil thead but we are talking about the same te that before the international black used to lose a tomb to H Swit to win to one so they need to to find consistent on the on the Run Simone of course it is very frustrating a couple of weeks ago we lost 2-1 at home against Ipswich their first premier league win of the season and then of course you go to the Champions Manchester City a very very tough place to go I might add that the last time they lost there in the Premier League was against brenford two years ago I know um you’ve been extremely um uh you know critical of an poog and Tottenham so far this season how does he get this team uh consistent how can he get them firing consistently first of all the players need to take responsibilities and first of all they need to to find the motivation to play for example lores for example Rome for example Europa League Of course uh playing a thead is not the same of playing fullam at home of playing at Vitality Stadium against ber mode so they need to find motivation then of course he needs to to fix the same the same mistakes the same troubles and not just talking about set pieces I’m talking about the interpretation of the game how you start the game uh I’m talking about the Highline I’m talking about the same mistakes that Wick in and Weck out this team went on doing so it needs to fix this this kind of of stuff uh we are looking at the same mistakes since the start of the season so I hope that 4 nil at the Ard is going to be a turning point of the season so uh if if you fix these kind of things if big has got some plan b or some plan C uh there is there is future in this project if not we’re talking about a manager that is capable of winning for nil at the yet but he the same manager that used to lose that managed in some way to lose a tomb to to to it that drop points in laser the points Newcastle draw points against ralas so at the end of the day the board will look on on on the records on the stats on the points on the position on the table so uh we see in the next couple of months the position that Spurs would be in the in the Premier League car let’s come to you um I’m going to put some pictures on the screen as you’re talking about the Manchester City game and uh feel free to talk us through uh from a tactical point of view of course you are a your wafer licensed football coach um now it must be one of the best performances of the Season without question or doubt um but I go back to that consistency again you know a couple of weeks ago we were all so low you went on social media an progo uh was getting slated heavily the players getting slated heavily you know I don’t think many people would have thought that we would have gone to the ety Hat on Saturday and won 4-0 now I did jokingly say on the podcast after the uh the city game that many people come up to me in the past few weeks saying I think score is going to be 4-0 city um not 4-nil Tottenham you know there were you know a few raised eyebrows to say the least um but it was a fantastic performance Gare wasn’t it absolutely incredible Chris um I was actually thinking about this today work um I’m 27 years of age so I started supporting Tottenham when I was about four I can remember but only really start to get really really interested as you get older so I was say sort of when bbof joined um around that time I would have been getting I remember the lasagna get the season before so maybe even go back to the 05 06 was kind of when I started following the the club I can’t think of a better a definitely a away but arguably our best ever Premier League one and there’s a few reasons I would say that um Man City were on beaten for two full years at home they’re the four times Champions no one’s ever done that before in the Premier League and they go there and won just after Pep Guardiola signs a new contract and won in that fashion I know they’ve been on a bit of a bad run but they were all games away from home I mean it shocked the world of football no matter what anybody says about Man City everyone expected a response from Man City and I think sometimes a wounded animal is dangerous um and Spurs completely after the first time on it’s completely took them apart um you know 11 11 V 11 Spurs were B better in every Department it was no flck result Spurs the score line didn’t flatter them all in the first 10 minutes the 80 minutes after that the scoring didn’t flatter Spurs at all you know I think back to the the game against man united the 6-1 that was during Co You could argue no fans in there makes a big difference um and then I thought about it more I thought then about since and just been here we’d beat Man City away 4-0 we’ve beat man n away 3-0 we’ve beat V away 4-0 so yes has been really bad moments in there and the away forms on a holes not been great but there’s been some unbelievable performances on there you know even under Paro we had some great days and more consistency you’d have to say but we always struggled away at the big grounds under part atino I can’t think of too many I know we beat um Chelsea once um and we ended that Stanford Bridge record um there was a man city one 2-1 I remember Erikson scored funny enough as well like Madison on his birthday but I can’t I we I don’t think we ever wanted anfield under pcho I I remember a 3-0 against man united to be fair but he was there a long time and I just only here now what a season and a third and we’ve had so many big results um and this is after losing hurricane as well um so I mean there’s been some massive massive signs of encouragement and look I know I’ve been criticized at times and I’ve kind of packed the manager a lot and um I’m not going to say I feel Justified or I like that but um you know your eyes don’t lady there there’s been some unbelievable performances on there it’s about turning the turning on the more consistent performances and I think um Simone’s got made some good points there but what I would like to say Simone and all Spurs fans about this plan b or plan C is how many of the top managers have a plan B pep guarda is all about possession football yes you m we Twigs but he’ll rarely change his possession style football uran club no matter what players he had he still played that High Press even when mner fabinho Henderson were were were getting older he still played The High Line he still played the high press vanger for how good mon he was by the end he never changed at the end at the end of every season sorry at the end of every season Guardiola when he he recognizes that it’s time to win one nil to win 21 to win with the dirty side of the game he knows how to do he knows how to to defend H he knows how to play to play a defensive football when it matters postu is only about ideas all about philosophy all about we need to play a certain type of football we need to be us so I’m not sure that it’s gonna work on the long run so I what I would say is though we remember Everton beating Man City for all P’s first season you know so he had to go and get new players they play his way so I think an needs more time I I I don’t think this Spurs team at the moment is ready to win they may be fortunate enough to pick up a trophy if we if we are good on our day you know hopefully that is this season but I don’t think when an Visions this Spurs team winning he believes it’s with this current Squad I think he still Fields he’s maybe two or three short he won’t tell that to the players he won’t tell that to the media but I do think this is very similar and it remains to be SE where it goes the same way we’re not on the same scale as these football clubs but I think we are very very similar to that your Club when he first come in yes he had to go and maybe sold Cino for big money and brought in the likes Allison and Van dke they needed that because they were getting tore up I remember that game at Wembley I think that was the last game really he went with the goalkeeper um he need he went and got Allon in January that 4-1 defeat by Spurs at Wembley and I think it might have been October That season so wh these managers are all brilliant they still have had a go sign world class players they won um so I think an still needs that as well but what I would say is Liverpool won 4-1 in club’s first season at Man City and lost at Watford 3-0 the week after so there’s very similar signs they it does take two or three seasons to get that consistency Liverpool and club’s second season just got into the top four on the last day of the season and then it went from strength to strength I’m not seeing it’ll happen here but I think we have to remember this has not going to happen overnight and we’ve seen glimpses of how good we can be we’ve seen the inconsistent side but there’s been so many positive days in this sort of 15 months I just been here at the best teams we’ve wenta and won 40 we’ve went to Man City and won 40 we’ve went to man won 3-0 really really big away days and I think that’s really really promising if we can turn in results more consistently I think we’re we’re we’re we’re in for a really good right I agree with a lot a lot that you say Gareth and I just want to add to this um polu used the analogy of um of pruning a a tree in in the summer he said we did some pruning and a bit of background to my life I do a bit of farming and when when you prune a tree it often looks a lot worse in the beginning in the first in the first year because the branches are cut off the Deadwood is cut off it it looks it looks a bit that’s what and and we under Jose and con we bought players that didn’t match our footballing identity so we had to start from the beginning we had to take also Melvin also as well you have to that we keep this team we keep judging this team based on what we had under pochettino and what we keep asking ourselves is we had to we had to do like hard surgery with this football club we had to start over release to release a statement to say listen we it wrong we’re gonna have to start over and and this is literally it was starting off the difference now I feel it won’t take us eight or nine years to get back to the top and we even win under under that time it will take us a lot less to get back to competing again to competing for the league to beIN the to be back in the Champions League I feel that we need a couple of years in Europa League I think we’re starting to see the benefits playing the Europa League papar papar is becoming a really really good player and and he’s one of the most players that benefited from playing in the Europa League so far yes I believe two or three goals and in the beginning of the Season he wasn’t playing well so he was benched but he was used in the Europa League really really effectively and those are the type of games and experiences that he needs to grow and become a really good footballer and we’re starting to see the team mature slowly and Garrett said when we win we win big two three four four goals the team needs to learn to to win ugly when we don’t deserve to win it’s a one nil Newcastle game which we lost we deserve to on this project if I had my poker chip they would be all sitting on edge because I believe in him and and and backing him doesn’t mean signing 100 million pound players backing him means giving him two three seasons doesn’t win anything or he finishes fifth I believe and this is the last thing I will say and I believe we can finish six this season made progress as a as a football club we could finish six and still made progress we’re we have Direction we have momentum we have a philosophy and we’re building on it and the Victory against City shows that Cog knows what he’s doing he’s not naive his high line and all of that were just was just get the totam players to to play that that way to have it ingrained in them I believe we play defensive against City but because the philosophy was in the back of their head we still played attacking football and we scored four goals and and all of us are buzzing right now because before we talk about the goals from the city game um Tim when he speaks and and and um and he does interviews and when you see him on the pitch sometimes he just looks angry all the time even though we’re winning he’s either talking to himself you know when when when you want when you really want to win and when you have that Elite mentality it reminds me of you know LeBron James that type of player he’s a big basketball fan and um it shows a bit on the pitch he has arrogance and and I like I like aspect of kki and I’ve had friends of mine tell me years ago kki is your best player and I didn’t believe them he said in and this guy is a football player by the way and he was telling me Kizi on the pitch he does things where the people around him you know he does the dirty work he’s very strong he’s very he has an engine on him he’s he’s he’s only 23 I believe and it’s insane the the the output that he’s he’s he’s giving us this season um and he’s versatile as well do we even know his best position because he played Wing again and and for me right wing for him was finished I thought now he was a midfielder but he played there and he played excellent and and what what a weapon to have for for po you know I I think city were planning for him to be playing in central Midfield but but he wasn’t he played right wing and and got us the win and really really quality balls really quality crosses from him Sam let’s come to you let’s talk about James Madison’s finishing because that one for the first one of course fantastic ball in from koseski as I said Hing son putting in James Madison for the second but the Finish from James Madison such a clever finish superb finish English blood English number 10 proper Tottenham way this is the Tottenham way Jay mtis Jay mtis is a fantastic player we have been missing him so much we have been missing a play with this characteristics so much so much in in this couple of in this couple of years since chrisan eron left the club so we needed a player like him and uh the performance he put at the Ed was something something incredible something the second goal is is amazing of course after the injury after the Chelsea game last season just like all the sports Squad he suffered so much he lost a little bit of RM a little bit of Peace but this season especially in the last couple of of months we we managed to find him back at his best so I’m I’m absolutely delighted to see him in playing in this kind of LEL Sone I hope you don’t mind me mentioning this but when we signed kesi and Bon Kerr in that January window um you weren’t their biggest fans have they proved you wrong devolution the evolution that actually banur had under Antonio K was something incredible and now we are struggling to see the old banur to be honest because for me it’s not a number it’s not a number six it’s a number eight just like Antonio showed us uh bentur is not the best we are not seeing the best side of bentur in this season uh so I’m expecting a little bit more from from him in in the next couple of months of course when he will be back from the sub suspension uh keski of course you know keski ad played played an incredible game H he played some incredible football at this season but I share with ban the the vision that is not right just like M would say is not a right a right winger anymore is a more number eight car let’s come to you let’s talk about the uh the third and fourth goals um fantastic finish again from Pedro porro uh brilliant goal Chris um K’s feet were magic um getting away um played the ball or plays the ball across for sinki slightly overhook but what I liked about sinki was his composure just they roll back and I think parro is a really really great striker of a football um and he scored some he scored a lot of goals and you know since he came part of the season so he just like a shot but he does hit the ball well um and it was a it was almost like a striker f it was like an AR on that top Corner made it look easy um but it was really good they see I thought we were very very good on the on the break when it when it happened I mean if you think about the first half Chris I know you asked me this the last time but ended up chatting about our best Premier League one but um know they really Spurs went that High Press it’s funny because when we had the success against Man City in the past under Conte Mourinho Nuno was very much sit off let Man City have the ball and wait for them to make a mistake or won the ball back deep and then spring in the Counterattack whereas on Sunday we went about it so differently we we pushed all our players up on the other half it’s a game we play most coaches would do it’s almost like a transition game where a lot of the coaches want the when they’re on the when they’re on the attacking side they want the game played in their positions half um and they pushed him really really high and I think we seen we seen United yesterday a we bit we H him because he’s only walked in the door they were getting caught out at times by um up switch where some players were pressing some players weren’t but Spurs got the Press absolutely fantastic bar the first few minutes I think there’s one more Davis coming and he got swiveled by um golden and they caught us open and that was a chance at H musty he talk too long and um Davis got back in it and it deflected um for the corner other than that count a too many times where we were really really suspect um and the high press was fantastic that led to the second goal um The High Press where Gario um give the ball away marison W it back and they played the one two we saw and made it 2-0 and the third goal I think melv is right we seemed the in that second half we is right we’re two- n up here let’s not have an our Brighton let’s be a little bit more cautious sit back 10 or 15 yards and wait for the moments and that’s exactly what they did and Chris we were all very annoyed after the breaking game so you want to learn from your mistakes and Spurs managed the game a lot better against Man City on Sat on Saturday and they did against Brighton whereas the Brighton game we come out try to do the same thing and you’re always going to get a response especially away from home when you’re tw0 up and you dominate the opposition you’re always going to get a response especially against good teams like man city like Brighton um you know man city the same thing happened man city Brighton where they were one up at halftime dominated the half Brighton come out in the second half like a different team and beat them two1 so look you’re always going to have that issue away from home if you’re not three or four up at halftime and I think that was a massive learning curve um and judging by the man city game it was something that we when when we found ourselves again two up at halftime away from home we protected it and we waited for the opportunities and we were ruthless when they came all in the K vesy chance I think sanki probably should have played Johnson him but he played keski and he made the chance himself and possibly should have scored but I thought we were excellent in our execution um and I have to say and even for how nervous I was at times I never felt at any stage a 3-0 up were we going to concede I thought we were really secure Man City were were huffing and puffing really there was there was a couple more chances When de bruyne come on and de brua to be fair is an unbelievable footballer and he can see things that our players can’t and then howand had a couple more chances towards the end um but look really really I thought from back day front Chris it was outstanding the every player was at the was probably certain players like I think were even played above what we’re used to seeing I couldn’t think of one player that that underperformed or doesn’t reach their highest level and that is what Simone’s right and Simone’s right about this and I is about plan a plan B plan C I think the problem with anes we he’s going to we have to get better at plan a don’t be thinking about Plan B he expects us to get better plan a but there’s nothing wrong with what um Melvin and Simone say if you’re two up away from home sit back for 10 or 15 minutes let the game uh fuzzle out because the crowd’s always going to be up after halftime um fuzzle it out and then go back on it again and finish it off so really well managed a really good maturing day for the squad and I really hope now this is the way forward and we’ve we’ve had her learn it’s going to be it’s going to be days we’re going to we’re going to lose games of course but there’s a way to lose football matches I don’t want to see any more Brighton where we’re two up and and losing like you know that’s just not acceptable so once said it in his postmatch press conference they had a lot of chances but they were very wasteful in that final third now Al Ben writes here um what if City had have scored once and we’ have got punched um we can play great football but my concern is the mentality and fight when uh when down what what I would say Chris as you see two goal leads overturned a lot in the Premier League we focus on it when it’s us but it does happen quite a lot you know they always say two n the next goal is crucial and we’ve seen it a lot of times in the Premier League this year you know there F at the weekend absolutely flying against the struggling wolves One n up cruising wolves get a goal back and go on one at 4-1 it’s all about at this level you’re you’re really going to go through a 90 minute game against an another professional football team in the Premier League and completely dominate them for 90 minutes it rarely happens teams are always going to get 10 or 15 minutes spells especially if they’re playing at home whatever it is about being at home the the crowd reacts to a throw or a challenge and all of a sudden momentum can swing like that because you’re you have to remember you’re you’re playing all world class footballers you don’t get to the Premier League if you’re not a world class not world class but a top class football of course there’s levels they being world class but you know every player in the Premier League is a good player in in some regard um so you’re always going to have moments where games can swing um and that’s something we have to manage better when we are up two nil can we see through a 10 or 15 minute um storm and then get back to playing again um and I think that was a really really good learning curve I mean I think Madison spoke about it really well after the game that has to be the standard from now on we have to and look you’re not going to play the G every week it’s impossible but there’s certain standards our work off the ball was excellent our maturity was excellent our composure the The Bravery to get on the ball and play was Fant I haven’t seen a Spurs team do that away from home at a team like that taking the ball in tight areas and playing and look a few times people were saying to me oh this is a bit risky but that that’s the way they’re trained to play and for the r he tickets about the rewards and the Mount of times we played around in them tight areas and broke and all of a sudden it was 4 V3 so I mean it’s one one find they sit and criticize if you give a goal away but at the end of day a lot of our chances created and a lot of our goals they come from playing them tight areas so it’s what he want you want them to start kicking it along again going back to the old ways of the con and R new days and relying on being great at the back back and you know relying on taking every chance that comes your way that’s not the way forward for me the teams that have won the Premier League over the last few years have all been teams that score goals play in tight areas and um are really good to watch you have to go back the Leicester really for the last or cont suppos to Chelsea and that was what nearly 10 years ago now so the man cities the liverpools of the world have changed how the premier league has won these days and the only way we’re going to get better as a club is by going through these spells and learning how to play Under Pressure I thought the the an decisions Chris they bring Madison in work the treat needed him on that you know if he was going to be at his best play in the tight areas I thought his leadership on the pitch was really really good so have been quite critical of him at times I think that was his best performance all around I think y n he’s podcasted it’s the best he seen Madison off the ball and his leadership qualities and that’s exactly what we’ve been missing so a really good day all around but it can’t be a flash in the pan it has to lead they more already I think I believe on eight eight goals something like that and um you know he’s on track to to touch to touch 20 goals or or 20 goal and assists in in a whole season which is something that a lot of people didn’t think he was capable of um he’s he’s one of our most important players he was dropped Dash rested today because you know the tactic from postu worked and um yeah he’s one of the players are probably start I’ll probably start both of them against Roma you know rest Son Rest kvi you know Roma is not going to be an easy game it’s not going to be a hard game but it’s it’s it’s a extremely well he knows Europe very very well what do you make of this appointment Simone and what are the Roma fans make of this appointment Roma fans are very happy are very happy Chris because he’s one of them so uh the bir the club freacking group that now decided to invest in Everton football club as well decided to give after they sucked Danel de Roi on on September on the early stages of the season they decided uh to CM the fans to CM the crowd giving them back uh one of them and Claud raner is of course some someone that knows how to to be one of them to to to drive a club like like yes Roma uh it’s a sensational story in terms of the romantical side of the of football because just like you were saying he seted his football career as a a Roma player then he developed his career in c as a manager then he went everywhere everywhere and he won that title with with leer uh in 2020 in 2016 uh last season he said that he was the last the last one as a as a manager he decided to retire as a professional manager then H the the Roma Cole went back and he couldn’t and he simply couldn’t say no of course we know Cloud Raneri you know also in England Cloud Raneri is not an offensive manager he not someone that loves to play attacking football he he loves to sit down to sit back and defend uh to study how to to strike on set pieces so I’m expecting a very offensive Ang side try to kill the game as soon as possible um I’m expecting a Roma side sit back and they are gonna sit back and defend and maybe try to exploit exploit uh sties or situations like that uh of course it’s a very very difficult season tough season for them they are in the in the right side of the of the table so uh it’s gonna be it’s gonna be a game between two sides that played an opposite game of football Simone what’s gone wrong for them in Syria this season because they’re currently 12th in the Syria table um played 13 1 three drawn four lost six and their record in the Europa League so far this season played for one only one drawn two and lost one they’re sitting 20th in the Europa League table that of course there’s 36 teams they got five points what’s gone wrong for them so far is is it just the fact that they haven’t been performing is are their players just not performing uh to the standard that that they used to uh at the start of the season their new sporting director decided than toam side Simone Simone can I ask you a question I know you were saying there the Roma fans are are quite happy with the Romantic side of of rer coming back but this is like a veteran manager you will be will become a director for Roma and he will help the fing group to find their new manager so it’s a total transitional season towards the end s Roma project we start from June we start from July Simone was it true that they nearly resigned the rosi after sacking him they were in to bring him back was that true no no it’s not true it’s not true because they I’m surprised that the rosi because when I remember when he come in after Mourinho he had a great start I thought they were going the right direction they were starting to play about a good foot under REO they had a suffer with the same type of football that we had and there was a it was a k it was a circus off the pitch he was getting sent off every second or third game and they rosi come in and they started to play good football and they were good to watch and obviously the director and H had fallen out and I know that the start of the Season wasn’t great but I’m very surprised that they pulled the plug so because it looked like at the very start of the D rosi reain that they were they were going in the right direction and I think Roma are very similar to yourselves that theyve had so many near near near misses they haven’t got over the line um I know they won the Europa conference league but other than that they they haven’t won so a lot of trophies in the last sort of 30 years so I was surprised that they didn’t give D rosi more time yeah yeah there is some truths on Danelle D Roi because what they got to know is that Daniel de rosi for all the summer um was having uh a sort of discussion week in Weck out day in day out with the co with a director of the club that was Lena soloku from Greece uh and the frin group decided to trust to believe in what Lena was saying so they s thei after four weeks the most glamorous game in the in the eight games I think this is a game that we really should be winning yes they scored 14 goals in 13 games we scored 27 goals in 12 so chy that I mean we could really we could really Pummel this team if we turn up Simone could you give us um a bit of a description of how Roma’s season have gone um result wise in Ser because in the Europa League as I mentioned they’ve played for 1-1 drawn two lost one uh a one-1 draw against Athletic Club um a one- nil defeat against El B uh Dynamo Kev they beat 1 nil and then Royale Union they drew 1-1 what what have they been like in the Europa League performance- wise well in the league in the league they were uh sometimes abisal absolutely aysal under Ian yurich a soft of boring defensive football but it was not working it was just defensive football but a losing football a losing type of football uh because uh the players didn’t trust him manager uh after two months uh the FR King group decided to get rid also of even yich so they were hard to watch tough to watch and the re and the table clearly reflect the the situation a very b side at the end of an ER because this is the end of the Mourinho and the rier it’s gonna be a transitional season Paulo dybala will leave the club at the end of the season so uh it’s it’s a very very hard moment hard moment for them but of course maybe Under The Lights of the lane in London Tottenham OS Stadium an important occasion for them a big occasion they know they’ve got experience in Europe it’s a game that Tottenham must not underestimate because they know how to how to read this kind of games how to read this kind of situations so in the league I’m not expecting them to finish in top six or top seven I’m expecting them to finish middle t as a middle table team in Europe we don’t know we don’t know we don’t know I think that they we fail to finish into the top eight I I will think that they will qualify for the playoff for the last 16 so season now it’s his third spell but of course he’s going to want to uh win in Europe he’s going to want to do extremely well um at the football club so will they put out their strongest possible 11 do you think yes definitely definitely they are trying to to find out they are trying to understand if Pao dybala dybala can play or no uh they will in in Napoli in nles he played just four or five minutes nothing more but I think that even if if even if he’s not gonna start the game he will play an important part in the second part of the game mainly if the game itself is gonna be uh open uh if Tottenham will manage to kill the game and the first half then it’s going to be a completely different different game I will I will pay ATT mention to Aram doic that is the Ukrainian Striker that went went from Jona the revelation of last La Liga it was the P the the player that scored so many goals in the last season of La Liga so I will pay attention I will pay attention to the striker because he a very very interesting player he’s strong he’s strong physically he’s tall he knows how to to to play the English side of the game so Second bows it’s strong in terms of the harder so he I would pay attention to the to the striker Aram doik Simone lastly about this game um are the Roma fans looking forward to it do they think they’re going to come to the Tottenham hbur stadium and get a good result yeah yeah yeah definitely they they are uh I was checking to the prices of the the flights Chris from Rome uh they are absolutely AB absolutely crazy because many many romance F romance fans will uh will be in London I’m expecting an away end full of energy full of of passion and they they will they will U support their team as as they always do G let’s come to you on Roma um do you watch syrii air much have you seen much of Roma this season if so what have you made of them I’ll be honest you right I watched more of Roma when Mourinho was there not so much for the just for the side Sho um I haven’t had the pleasure of watching Melvin’s favorite manager too much this year Antonio Conte but um I I did tune in last night for this but of the second half I was watching that United game so when that was over I tuned in for the end uh wasn’t particularly I remember watching the an Milan in the Napoli game the week before and I couldn’t believe it was a two top teams two top teams play each um it was just so boring but Sima tell you I don’t think the ball moves as quick and the game is as quick in the Sia as it is in England but look um we can’t be under we can’t can’t be under what’s that the SI play different football than the Premier League it’s not to be honest I do like watching I like watching Atlanta I like it watching them when they play because they actually they’re a they’re a bit more better on the eye they press and they’re very very good and I watched them in the eura League last year a lot but I tuned in they watch a we bit of it um I agree with Simone I think do dock i’ seen him at the euro as well and he had a brilliant season last year I think for Juna was it topic yes yes J he’s a handful um and he and he’s big and powerful and you know he he’ll love the the physical battle and I think set pieces is going to be their best route they go um but I just can’t see that they seem in such a mess the only thing I would agree with Chris is um the 100% they’ll play their first 11 because we just beat Man City four I’m telling you that we’re a big scalp at the moment that that would have sent shock waves around Europe that result you know anybody that that that that has interest in football would have heard about this so we’ve Now set the standard Roma’s going to be thinking and reneer once to put himself back on the map you know he’s been wied out of his retirement home they come back in and he second games against uh Spurs away this is a big game for him a big game for Roma that we looking at Spurs as a big scalp and if if they needed the any incentive to up their game it’ll be for this game because of what we just did the man city so but how much you can up your game based on the mess you’re run around you and the lack of confidence the form um they were really really really poor against Napoli as well um I just can’t see any or com in a Spurs won we haven’t played our best football in the eura league compared to the Premier League but um I do expect us they won this game um but I do think we smon says do you think Roma will break up the game they’ll they’ll make it difficult they’ll try and rattle Spurs I like with Chrystal pal um a few weeks ago when they they getting the ball I think was there seven minutes out at the end of the first half and seven at the end of second half a lot of time wasting and stuff so if we can get an early goal it’ll it’ll change the landscape of the game um and if we get that early goal I think we’ll W quite comfortly but look zis Roma um I think it’s um they’ve got 13 points from 13 games in the in the in the Sia 14 goals scored in the 13 game so they only average really won a game um so they aren’t luted with goals um and if we’re looking at our numbers thinking the Spurs team have spank teams for this year a fair few times they’ll be thinking that this is a game they really really have to be hon it and really really tight at the back and I do expect them they they let us have the ball probably not press as high very much in a deep block would have switched up and and wait for the moments because you know Spurs will be vulnerable from set pieces um they’ll be vulnerable to the all Counterattack the Bala if he’s fought is a very special player on his day El’s been about the do they can get crosses on the hum he’s good in the air um and as well as dragon and Davis done against Man City that doesn’t mean the way forward and they’ll be as great in this game you know everybody can have a game where it goes everything goes right so it’ll be a big test dragon’s not been that convincing in EUR in Europe for me um I think Ben Davis day credit’s been absolutely excellent when he’s been called upon this season um I know we’re going to go through the teams we we think will play in the team that D will go with um but I I would I would I would just be very very mindful of underestimating because I think we underestimated as Ogar we didn’t we know we weren’t great against them um we weren’t great in buest I don’t think Chris I know the pitch and the the conditions didn’t help but of yet they really see his Flex their muscles in this eura league yet and wh I’m not too wh I’m not too worried about it because I think we’re going to get through it would be nice they put a statement out there in Europe against a big club like Roma and say well look that’s the level now um you know because I haven’t seen anybody in Europe yet uh um I know L was doing quite well but I’d love to see somebody go out and really really take a Str angle and go look that’s the team they beat Spurs are the team they beat um latu with the team that’s won their four games um as a say there but look very much we can we can um we I want to stti finish as high as possible in this uh in this league phase because it means and you’re supposed to get an easier route um with a new tennis State format um but honestly Chris on our day I think we beat any of these clubs and that’s not me being bigheaded or cocky or organt if you can beat Man City 4-0 V 4-0 uh man united 3-0 you can beat anybody um so and I think the fact that Knockouts is two legs Chris will give us a huge Advantage I think over two games I think we’re capable of throwing a stinker in know in one of those games but I think we’re equally as good as a blowing teams away in the other one so I think we’re going to be strong contenders on this uh Europa League Chris and I do expect this to be um towards the end of season still on it and competing so um I would like to see I think this is in a grp chat today Chris that whilst um I’ve not been too bored about the games and I’ve I think the last time I was on here I was um we were chatting about ASA rore and I was more worried about Crystal Palace I think tomorrow night is a big game or sorry Thursday night’s a big game because we’ve lost that last game if we were to go and lose this one we starting to look over our shoulder bit um so I think and the way Rangers are going at the mon Chris I can see when we play Rangers we’re going to be playing a Rangers team with a new manager and they’re one of those clubs over the last few years when they sacked the manager they get an automatic points and the Rangers manager Hanging On by a thread I’m not sure he’ll make it for two weeks time so the last thing you want go to Rangers I broos absolutely packed T and you’ve just lost your last two games so I think this is a a really important game get the job done um and then the Rangers game not play well it’ll still be a really really incredible atmosphere the Scottish teams absolutely love playing the English teams um so that will be that will be an important game as well they’re all big games they’re all big games um Melvin let’s come to you I know you watch Sia a lot um what have you made of Roma this season they’re struggling I mean good really good friends of mine are Roma fans and I speak to them and they tell me how they feel and you know they’re not happy they’re not happy they when they had Jose there and they were constantly there in in Europe attacking and they’re in the conversation for for for Champions League I mean Roma are a big name but in Italy they they don’t win trophies a guy told me recently he said he said we’re we’re we’re in the same boat we’re always there and in the conversation but we never get it over the line and and until Jose went to the club and then they won the trophy and and and and um they were buzzing they see him as an idol there they loved him they were they were really really sad when he left and um and they haven’t been the same team since I mean they’ve lost key key players in in that regime I mean they had a really solid defense and and they’ve lost um they still have a really good Midfield who who do frighten me it depends who we play you know christante Pelini and the and the French lad in the middle three are very very strong very powerful Midfield I feel we can’t play an Archie gray we can’t play a bvar or they’re going to get bullied a little bit they’re going to they’re going to get physically dominated I mean that’s why they were so strong in Europe they’re a very physical team Roma especially under Jose they were very physical and they relied on on the quality of dybala and you know they they had Tammy Abraham who’s a big Miss for them and um it’s GNA be it’s it’s G to be an interesting game depending on the lineup like Garrett said if we play our best 11 you know we can beat anyone but I just feel toogo has to rest a few players I mean Ben Davis I I know we’ll get into the lineup in a few minutes but I think you know dragin will love playing an Italian team again I’ve been really impressed with dragin and happy with with him and um I’m a massive fan of his I just think his physicality in games like this is really really an asset for us because he you know he throws his body in he puts he puts it on the line every single time and it’s going to be a physical game and I just think it’s we’re going to find it hard to create because they’re going to try to be really physical with us and take it you know man for man and um and make us and make us suffer in in that aspect I don’t think they’re going to come to try to play football I think they’re gonna still try to play like they play on their Mourinho they’re gonna you know try to win set pieces Corners you know and and and they’re not going to come to us and try to play you know you know football the Italians they slow the game down they call it tactical you know I I before I dated my girlfriend you know fiance now I hated Italian football I used to call it boring I used to call it you know anti football and and in the last six years this is what love does to you I’ve been watching you know ser and um it’s a and and and we’ve bought players from this area so so I’ve grown to respect it and and enjoy it and and and I like their managers I like their players and it just shows that you know sometimes there’s a bit of um there’s a bit of like stigma and prag pragmatism and we think the Premier League is above all leagues and it’s the best football the best players and really really really the truth is that Italian clubs are just as good you know they can beat they can beat the English the the English teams I remember you know teams in in Aston Villa and Brighton when Brighton were in the Europa League they struggled they couldn’t they couldn’t win win their games you know they couldn’t beat these teams Italian teams are really good they they find a way to win but sometimes the match is boring and I just feel it’s going to be a boring game it’s going to be a one- nil or 1-1 and they’re going to come and try to suffocate spares and and try to win the game physically rather than on the pitch that’s that’s how I feel Roma’s gonna attack us well I’m glad people have bought their tickets already yeah Simone let’s come to you um just want to get all of your thoughts on Tottenham in the Europa League so far this campaign of course played Four one3 lost one most recently Los gasar 32 it’s fair to say galatas an absolute outall before Spurs very very nearly nicked a draw in Istanbul uh what an atmosphere that was by the way um and then what we’ll do is we’ll finish with predicted lineup but Simone let’s start with you on Tottenham in the Europa League this season what have you made of them uh finally uh they seems to to take seriously the the competition uh the pictures to be honest were quite easy at the because okay L away as said as at home they were not complicated games when they went to Istanbul in that atmosphere it was a St it was absolutely atile they’ got huge players Victor man destroyed Tottenham destroyed the post ey line um nine points out of 12 I think that it’s a fair it’s a fair um amount of of of of points so um which I think that they’ve got SPS have got everything everything to to finish into the top eight of the big of the big table so it was a as well a huge opportunity to see the youngsters I was quite place not just on Lucas beral but mainly of course as everyone of with Mickey Mikey Mo what a player um I’m a little bit sad that he got injured in some some weeks ago a couple of weeks ago because it was it was absolutely brilliant and he was gaining more game more more game time in Europe League so uh I think that it was the perfect the perfect competition the perfect moment the perfect platform for him to develop his skills with the with with the with the senior team so I’m quite I’m quite happy to see how Spurs developed the start of their European campaign Sone what do you make of the new format and would you think that Tottenham are one of the favorites for the competition I think I I love to be honest the new the new fabula because you know uh to be hon was one that loves the Dre Inon of the old uh group phes but I think that in this way you you will play more or less the same the same level and you will find uh you will fight against everyone to finish into top eight in the next round of 16 so I think that it’s gonna be it’s gonna be interesting it’s gonna be good and sports by the the tech the technical side of the game by the technical side of the game are one of the favorites of the competition I think that uh one one thing is to being considered as one of the favorites one another thing is to arrive to playing quarterfinals to play semifinals to not have injury to to play from the start the game in a serious way Europe League is not the conference League Europe League is a very very hard competition when you arrive at the end because you will play Maybe Spanish football Spanish cups that loves to play the competition Italian football loves to play the competition so uh it’s not easy it’s not easy and it will never be easy alao one of the favorites the moment would you say yeah yeah because they they rebuilt the team in a perfect way huge credit to their manager Marco Baroni they play incredible football they are strong also in the physical side of their game so Lazio will play a huge part of the competition K let’s come to you what have you made of Spurs so far in the Europa League Of course beating carbag 3-0 Fen spars 2-1 uh that wasn’t an easy game as you mentioned earlier azed at the to HB Stadium 1- nil and most recently losing 3-2 against Galatasaray it’s fair to say an pooku has made a number of changes uh as soon as we get your thoughts and Melvin’s thoughts on Spurs in the Europa League this season we’ll go to the predicted lineups Chris it’s it’s it’s been a lot of changes and you’re always going to have disrupted Rhythm when you’re making so many changes he give a lot of the young kids um game time and it’s great experiences for them you know I say this you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t rate um look at the injuries we’ve had and we’ve been rting anyway so um if we hadn’t been rting how many more injuries would we have had and I think the way an’s teams play always at risk of injuries the strains the um muscle injures because of the high press the Sprints so I do think he has to rotate and if you’re looking at it now although this rumor game is important is it more important than the Bournemouth game next week is it more important than um follow at the weekend and Chelsea the week after that’s up for every fan to bit because we have got um Bournemouth and a midweek in midweek action um next week um so we’ve got three Premier League games where I’m sure Angel want to go strong in all three games so you’re thinking there to be a game in there that is going to heavily rout it and the fact that we’ve won three out of four I do think it’s more important because we’ve lost the last game we need to go a bit stronger in this game but I have a feeling with a viio injury as well at the weekend and the fact that we had that big one on Sunday he’s going to r a bit more than maybe that he he would like do or should do because I can imagine we’re going to go very strong against fham strong against Bournemouth strong against Chelsea and then possibly rotate against Rangers again um and then we’ve got Southampton and then we got United and Liverpool so it’s it’s it’s you think about them two the two the the four there’s four M week games between now and Christmas and you’d imagine that the league game against Bournemouth and The League Cup game quarterfinal against United will be considered a bigger priority at the moment um because of Premier League your BR B and the fact that we’re in the quarterfinal League Cup and we’re at home against a team that we we had a great record against since I has come here against B unit so I’m I’m assuming he’s going to hit in this one because I’m looking at the other games I’m thinking where is he going to R hit so because you know and it’s a nice problem to have would we rather have a free week um in between Southampton and Liverpool of course we wouldn’t we want to be in the League Cup we only to wion The League Cup so the consequence of being in these competitions is you have you do have more games so I I do think we’re going to rotate more I agree with Melvin says about physicality I really want to see s in there and basuma in there against r I don’t I don’t think this is a game for berville but I’ve got a feeling that bergville will play Melvin what of you might have sposed in the Europa League this season so far yeah it’s been interesting I mean the lineups are often interesting that’s probably the most thing I look forward to you know to see to see who he picks and um more importantly like who he’s resting who who from the young young kids he’s picking you know Archie Gray’s been you know probably the first person I pick you know he I know he’s playing him at at right back but he’s the one I look forward to the most even um you know drag is in um and Ben Davis SAR these these players have been playing consistently in the in the Europa League bonor has a B in the Premier League so probably one of the first people on on the list as well you know he needs to play minutes keep him fresh um bgv’s been you know up and down he’s he’s still a young lad he’s full of potential and um you know these games will do him a world of good um I don’t know if Mikey Moore is going to be fit and and and if he’s going to be on the bench or not um I’d like to see him involved in some way just playing at home you know to Roma will be you know physical team I think Teemo will start I think Johnson will start it’s going to be a massive question mark to um to see if he’s going to start langier or or salanki you know I’ve I’ve been happy with with our Eur performance I’ve missed the um one of the games cuz I was flying to to Toronto at the time you know when we lost and um when L you scored you know you were there in turkey and I was getting updates on the on the WhatsApp from you guys and letting me know how we were playing you know um the score you know flattered Us in the end I still haven’t even seen the game I saw the goals but I never actually got to see the games I think it was one of one of the few games within 15 years that I’ve missed I I’ve nevered missed the game and and weirdly enough it was I had a flight book the Europa League and I be sack he would be sacked before the final because the form will be for about two minutes can you mute him for about two minutes yeah so I don’t see postu ever ever saying the Premier League is now not the priority anymore it’s it’s the Europa League I don’t see him doing that and let’s say we’re in the quarterfinal and we’re playing I don’t know Lazio and and we have a Premier League game and it’s this and we have a one-nil lead and and we’re going into the second leg I don’t see him resting you know resting players so and Jose would Jose would rest all his players and say I’m GNA win the Europa League and then I don’t see pooku doing that and I and I think with the with the squad we have we’re not capable of competing you know in Premier League and and and and going that far in the season that’s what we already have injuries now and and I just don’t see get in in in the end I think we’ll fall fall short and I think it’ll be an experience for the team and once again the CLE of center backs uh Rodrigo vur will clearly uh take back the spot as a number six I’m expecting Dean keski to rest a little bit so I’m expecting to play in Midfield SAR on the center right and James Madison once again on the center left as a number eight uh in front I we think son will rest a little bit so Timo wner even because he he went in very very well against Man City provided the platform to to BR Johnson to score the F at the haot so um Tim on the left I’m expecting Brandon Johnson to start being back on the starting line because he was rest I at the at least at the start of the game against Man City at the Ard so Brandon Johnson Timo wner and nor Charon so I don’t think will Lan will play Ro I think he will start with with solak because Rome playing Rome Europa League this season um he’s played in all four games but he has not started any of them is this a game in your opinion where he does actually need to start in the Europa League given his form basuma SAR bergal Johnson sanki and Teo verer and this is the lineup that you believe that an postao will put out forer poro drusin Davis gray basuma bergal Madison Johnson sanki and teimo Vera interestingly no hman son in both of these lineups I definitely think son will be rested Chris if actually I’m gonna hold my hands up I’ve made a mistake here I’ve totally forgot about boner because I just the band thing was on my head but I would obviously boner is going to come in and play so um I would play basar and benter I would actually agree with uh Simone and maybe give benter a bit more of an advanced role um and then we would be very physical in that Midfield um I would rest Madison um bergville I think at the the time I say do would play him um but I actually I thought about it more and I think Roma quite physical um I would leave him out um so I’ve made a couple of changes to me te already here um but um I definitely think penter comes in but I would like to see basuma and Sar play just for that physical I don’t want to lose that Midfield battle um and then you can always bring Madison and Co V on if you need a bit more creativity um depender on that advanced role um alongside are I think would be a good would be a good way to go um I think bener would enjoy it more as well not having that more defensive responsibility for Puma was outstanding at the weekend I mean if puma and bener are at their best I think Spurs are at their best because they they they can screen that defense well I think benter in some games the game of Old Trafford I thought he was outstanding our games he hasn’t been so good but I do agree with Simone I do think he’s been asked to play a position he’s not familiar with um so you have to cut him some slack um but um I don’t I’m not a fan Chris of fullbacks on the opposite side that’s why I would go with gray on the right and give porro a rest um I think we really need to go into the market in January and bring in an our left back because I really don’t like this gray on the left side I really don’t um I just think it’s uncomfortable for players being after to playing that role because they’re always coming back in the way inside where the danger is instead of being on the outside so I would really prefer to see him um we need to go on the market get a left back um and we I think we need to send two players in the J one though um I really do cuz I agree with Melvin um I know we don’t agree a lot all the time but I’m not sure we have the squad to keep everything going all front especially if we get to the final in the league cup or we have a good run in the FA Cup you’ve got Europa League and and the Premier League I do think we need to strengthen um but that would be my team Chris um the front three I think picks itself Johnson comes in song gets arrest give verer a goal and sinki for me because L suspended and uh um he’s got a play do you know do you know say is interesting that no one’s mentioned actually GTH the fact that uh Jed Spence everyone wanted him in the Europa League Squad but of course an bogu chose to go with frasa fer instead so that actually seemed like a good decision now doesn’t it well that’s that that um everyone was but then again Spence could have played at left back well I could have done but I I don’t like him playing at left back as this is but no named four goalkeepers in the squad so all of a sudden if he didn’t name the goalkeepers you’d be relying on Forester stand foot now if Forester was a g we’d have no goalkeeper to put in the team yeah so I think I think an believes he’s got players that can play at fullback in an emergency you have no emergency goalkeeper you can’t ask answer yeah Melvin let’s come to you let’s come to your team um this is the team that you would like to see and putting out VI well Vicario is not going to happen so be afraid forer poro drain Davis gray bergal Benton Kerr Madison Teo verer Lanier Johnson predicted lineup forer poro card because I missed that game um I think the front line you know Johnson Wess Salan you have to go strong you have to respect Roma you have to um even though they’re struggling a bit I think you still have to have to have a strong line to score in the Europa League um the Midfield Benton core is going to start every single game now you know in in the Europa League um bergville I think needs minutes and um I would I would play him you know playing at home you have to you have to play that you have to play him and if we need to improve in in the midfield if you need strength if you need creativity you can always bring in keski medicine I I chose him because I think I think um I don’t know I think him and SAR could both do a job I think sar’s been playing well in the Europa League and now that that G’s done some substitutions I might change M toar instead of medicine and in rest medicine but I think equally he’s he’s just as capable of playing there and um even though R are quite physical so far would be probably the smart option from the two I’ll be surprised to be honest if he plays basuma I just think since since Benton cor is suspended I just think basuma is gonna be played in the Premier League and and boncore played in the Europa League and and and he’ll he’ll just you know rest one and play the other week in week out and and one can have a full a full week’s rest and and a solid solid sub every single time so um I don’t think gonna played Melvin Melvin as there a rat in your house there’s I think there’s an animal making a little noise there it’s not me games are really really early so we’re drinking at 9:00 A.M 10: a.m. so it was a strange strange match day but I I I loved it and and love talking to those guys and and shout out to the to the Toronto spars guys and and and thanks for the drinks and thanks for for saying hello and and and you know thanks for Chris and because it’s a strange feeling being recognized through a podcast and um and the guy was insured in the beginning that if it was me and then and then you know he heard me speak and and then recognized me immediately probably because um and yeah and then me and Gareth a bit of insight we just we just choke around with on on the WhatsApp you know between us bantering with with Jose and Conte we have mixed opinions but it’s all it’s all good laugh and uh yeah but to be put on the on the same bracket as as Alex who’s who’s a funny character I think I I think his opinions are quite funny at times but I I think me and Gareth are more on the same page when it comes to to spar
