📝 Video Description:

Heading into the 11th game, North Carolina’s roller coaster of a season had a bit of promise with two winnable games left and a chance to at least finish year six of Mack Brown 2.0 with some positivity. By 12:30pm on the turf of Boston College’s home field, that thought faded and, by the end, any remaining hopes of returning to the usual plateau of Carolina football was gone. The Day After crew of Jason Staples, Buck Sanders and Tommy Ashley attempt to make sense of the day on Chestnut Hill and what happens next as rivalry week is here.

welcome in to another edition of inside Carolina’s day after podcast we are sponsored by Johnny t-shirt and congruity that is Buck Sanders I’m Tommy Ashley waiting on Jason Staples he is on the road so we hope we can he can join us um Buck I’ve got a clip I want to play from last week’s press conference but I want to start this show out uh getting your overall thoughts and I don’t know if it necessarily has to be totally on the Boston College game but just your thoughts and feelings here on Sunday morning after Carolina travels up north and gets your term Molly whopped by the Boston College Eagles well that’s a term I borrow liberally from other people when I see them hear them say something that I like but um you know I agree with you and I don’t think the the point of today’s uh podcast or the way we can best use our time today is to discuss the ins and an outs and the uh schematics of the game and the wi in a wherefores because it was essentially a total system failure you could you know start anywhere you want picking nits and you’re going to you’re going to find a rich uh vein of them so uh I think uh what we could spend our time on a little bit better is uh where does this game fit in um into the psyche of UNCC football essentially um you’ve got a game where you were favored there’s Jason you see him now morning we’re just getting started and I was talking about uh instead of spending our time on the necessarily on the X’s and O’s of this uh past game um that our time might be better spent pegging where this game stands in this season because this is one of those games I don’t think you can view as a silo out there that uh stands alone can you hear us Jason you’re having trouble hearing us you muted but it’s fine if you can as long as you can hear us um so uh there are some games and you know there that are inextricably uh combined with um decisions that face the football program and this one uh I think is one we’ll look back on you know uh like in the John Bunning era the Virginia game uh yes is their their arrival and there’s somebody you want to beat and it’s an important game to you but it’s not like the feature game of the entire season every year for UNC football but that game that particular year at Virginia uh when uh John Bunning uh was replaced as head coach stands out in that season as a game that was uh bound up with decisions that the athletic department needed to make and had to make um and I think that’s how we will come to view this game at Boston College in a way that uh it it poses some questions for the UNCC athletic department and the primary one and the one that that makes the most difference to me is um is this the product you would like to put on the field can you can you as a leader decision maker in the UNCC athletic department look at this game and say to yourself yeah we’re okay with that that’s that’s the kind of product we would like to uh put out there in college football um and if they answer to that question question by those decision makers is yeah we’re okay with that then we got much bigger problems and uh Kobe chrisw Well’s completion percentage and or how many M tackles there were what the snap counts were on PF so uh I think that’s the burning issue that coming out of this game is what import does it have moving forward uh for the decisions that have to be made by the athletic department yeah and I’m going do something and of course if you’re watching Jason has joined us he’s on the road so um appreciate him getting in early morning for Jason but I want to do something I don’t normally do here I’m gonna play a clip from press conference of last week um and art chansy asked m brown a question about going to Boston being prepared being tough enough to win in Boston and I thought it was an interesting exchange and it sort of highlights a lot of the things you’re talking about buck and uh I think it’s worth listening to here and Jason I want you to hear it in case you haven’t um and then we’ll talk about it ACC they get no attention in Boston they’ve got two games to get a ball B you in pit they it’s going to be a rock fight and you have to be ready to play from the from the moment you get on the bus I mean what are you going to do different this is the game that if they win they get a bull bit if you lose you’re going to have a let down against State and oh Omar might not playing a bowl game and you might lose three in a row again you get to win this game so I got it I got it recorded no no no come on no I’m I’m serious too art every every week’s that way you’re you’re so negative oh my God you you just got world’s coming to an end you’re going to lose this one you won’t be ready for State then you’re going to lose your bowl game Mar won’t play God we we went from we just went from winning nine to winning six and being miserable so thank you right for your thoughts you got three all right let me let me start over and answer it in a professional manner like that since you and I have been friends a long time absolutely wake was in the same position exactly this week they’re they’re fighting for a bowl game we knew we were going to get their best shot and we got it I’m not sure what it is about Carolina but our new coaches Ted and Jeff they come in and say why is it that we always get everybody’s Best Shot it’s unbelievable that people come in here and play we we’ve lost four games in a row and people are playing us like it’s a national championship and we can’t figure it out we get everybody’s best shot and I said it’s a great compliment so don’t don’t gripe about it let’s use it we Absolut I just said it’s going to be the most physical Game of the Year it’s going to be a very difficult game they’re going to come and hit us right in the mouth we need to win they need to win it’s it’s that way across the country country everywhere so absolutely we are going up there with the attitude to win but we’re not going to be soft we’re not going to be not ready to play we’re not going to be arrogant we’re going to be ready to play so Jason did you have the opportunity to watch the football game in full and how do you square what you saw on the field versus what we just heard from m brown I did turn it off uh with about uh two plays of them kneeling it out uh to go so so I I can’t say honestly that I that I uh I watched every play that I watched it in full but otherwise yeah no I I I took a close look and and uh because I because I actually watched this one after it had already been been played I was already you know running some things back and taking a closer look as I was going through and um yeah that was ugly that was uh that was not a team that was ready to play it was not a team that was in position to uh to to match the physicality and the urgency with which the with which BC played and um yeah that was that was uh that was a curb sing that was pretty ugly and no I I will say I think that was a game that got away from them in certain ways to where the final score was I mean it was indicative of the level of dominance on the one hand but it was it was one of those games that there were three or four plays that if Carolina doesn’t make some of those mistakes that game is close you know real close going into the fourth quarter despite the fact that they couldn’t move the ball despite the fact that there were other issues is they did make those mistakes and they made them in each case where they you know you know you better this is a critical play this you got to make sure you well in each case what happened it wasn’t good so yeah um hearing Max’s response on those things earlier in the week and then seeing the product on the field on on Saturday you know there’s there’s a real dissonance there and with respect to to what I think he thought they were going to see we were going to see what uh and what we what we did see but your video is glitching a little bit and it almost had me cracking up but uh my question is the disconnect that that’s the problem I mean and we’ve seen this disconnect for a long time um and it results in what we see on the field you know we talk about losing the locker room losing the fan base and all that but ultimately um when you’re just so far off and what you think is going to happen that just tells me that the disconnect between the headman and the rest of the program is is something that’s at this point not repairable I think Buck can you hear me uh I can hear you and uh just repeat the last part of that for a second the disconnect that we Contin the disconnect that we continue to hear from the top to what we see in the product is something that is it it seems to be unrepairable at this point and in fact getting worse if you’re talking about at the top being m brown yeah then absolutely you’re right um and the the it’s uh frustrating for everybody and I’m including Mac probably in that equation as well uh for for him to uh during the week seem to identify the issues that are the team is going to confront for the week coming game and he went over there went over those in good good detail for Boston College you know they’re tough in the trenches that’s their reputation we need to be able to deal with that it’s going to be a physical G it’s going to be a test of our toughness we’re going to have to go up there and play tough well if is frustrating for him to know what needs to be done and then not to see it on Saturday you see something exactly the opposite of that so um yeah that’s uh the disconnect is frustrating for everybody and I include Mac in that number as well but uh ultimately the buck stops there uh when it comes to putting the product on the field he’s he’s responsible for what Carolina footb ball looks like on the football field and after six years uh you know that’s the ultimate question and and what we can say without fear of contradiction is uh we can go into all the things that uh normally uh get called into question after a game like this no officiating had nothing to do with this the scheduling had nothing to do with this um the fact that uh injuries did not play a huge role in this uh the team was not worn out they haven’t put in that too many snap counts you’ve kept them fresh to the end of the year and you said that uh this team was built to finish the season well it’s not finishing the season well with this last outing against Boston College so remove all of those things from the equation and just look at the product you got on the field and it’s not one you can be pleased with it’s not one where college football generally and North Carolina included in that number is facing a lot of problems they’re going to have to deal with a lot of issues at the heart of which is going to be fundraising uh and for North Carolina fundraising is going to be critical uh moving forward if they’re going to be relevant in college football and you can’t raise funds on hey hey look at this product and invest in it I if what you’re seeing is a substandard product so uh given the challenges that you that all of college sports is facing and college football primarily in that number um you know you you you have to look at this from a what is going to be functional uh moving forward it’s not going to be about PR it’s not going to be about spin it’s not going to be about any of that it’s going to be about what you get done on the football field and Boston College is not an example you want to put on tape for that proposition that North Carolina football is relevant in any way Jason build off that and then I do have a specific game question well I’ll go ahead and ask the question one thing that we hear a lot when they lose is ask whichever coordinator the question was directed at um I do have beef with the play Callum fourth and two or whatever it was where you don’t just give it to Hampton I mean that that that is unacceptable unexcusable I mean it happened against Wake Forest down in the Red Zone I mean I just don’t understand how those things get happening but a coach to say asked the coordinator I have never heard ma Brown say that after they won if he has I don’t remember it but I’ve heard it a bunch after they’ve lost and he said it again your take on that Dynamic Jason um and and I understand that head coach has got a lot going on and all this and that but the the throwing under the bus when Carolina loses I’m not sure I understand what you gain by that Jason well I mean I think some of it is just honesty in the sense of uh ma has empowered his coordinators he has and that’s that’s been one that’s been a strength of M Brown’s a different points in his career has been you coach for m brown you’re quality coordinator you’re going to get a chance to show your stuff and you know he’s not a micromanager in that respect he’s not GNA uh he’s not going to be on the headset demanding this or that play call or whatever he’s always talked about coaching the coaches you know you handle that stuff in in the meetings during the week and all that so when it comes time to those call for those calls in game generally speaking that is the coordinator’s call that is Chip Lindsay’s call now on the one hand that’s honest on the other hand it is one of those things where a lot of coaches decide that’s not the way to handle that in in those that even if that is the case even if I did delegate that responsibility I’m not going to throw my guy under the bus uh and I’m going to handle this in a way that I take the blame because the buck stops with me uh that you can do both and he he’s he’s decided not to do both in the in some of these cases uh I think some of that is a little bit of of self uh preservation May self-preservation yeah a little bit uh and the reason that I say that is even though it’s honest that yeah I I negotiated this out yeah I you know I I delegated this I know who I I know you know that’s not that was not the call that I Made In the Heat of the Moment here’s the thing coach you were on the headset you heard what the decision you know what the what the decision was going to be you heard the the logic that goes on that that was going on in terms of why make this call or whatever because the way this is going to work is the headman is going to say all right let’s go for it go for it on go for it on Fourth here or even on third down you say okay we got four here if we get close and then once you go once you decide to go for it and he says all right pull the trigger let’s go for it then you hear the offensive staff make they’re going to have this conversation you’re going to hear you know the coordinator you’re going to hear chip Lindsay come in and go all right uh I’m thinking we we run X Y and Z which is what we worked on during the week for you know fourth and two is what we do you know here they they’ve stopped this a couple times I’m thinking we do this so let’s go ahead and call it and that gives the the head coach that gives other people the opportunity to chime in and say coach I think we ought to do this other thing and you might have that that quick back and forth and it’s I mean this stuff happens fast you’re talking about 5 seconds and I still remember playoff game that I had at Southern Durham where I was on that staff and our offensive coordinator made a specific call down down in the goal line I can’t remember if it’s a two-point conversion or if it was a a you know from the I think it was a fourth down from the two yard line and he said you know we’re going to run this and I uh you know we we got it we got it and I responded on the phones I said that’s bad that’s not a good call Coach we need to do X Y and Z because if we do this this is what’s going to happen and he’s like no no no we we we got this and I was like we can run it I just want to I just want to be on the record I think that’s I think that’s a bad I think that’s a bad decision and it didn’t work out you know of course I remember it because it was right and you know that that you know we ended up losing the football game by you know two or three points and you know easily remember the times that you’re were right uh and you know I had some occasions where I fought back on on some things and said you know I coach let’s not throw that quarterback’s not ready for that and turns out the quarterback was a little more ready than I thought but in this case that was one where I I said you know I just want to be clear if we’re running this we’re running this I’m running it under you know I’m uh uh I’m running this under under duress and uh you know protest Pro yeah yeah yeah in protest yeah you know I’m doing this in protest and uh he you know he went through with it we exactly what happened happened we didn’t score and all that head coaches on the phones coordinators on the phones and I as a passing coordinator we all on the phone we had that discussion in like five six seven seconds so in the post game if there had been this kind of thing uh Darius or head coach would have been would have been in a position of saying well you know we had some discussion on the phones and you know we decided that we felt like we could we could punch it in there as a staff uh we thought that we could block this guy you know there was some discussion on our phones about whether or not we could block that particular guy and you know we decided that that we really thought we could and it was it ended up being a bad call you could do that but if you just say well you’ll have to talk to the coordinator that’s a way of saying I may have heard the discussion and I didn’t step in and say anything but I wash my hands of this you can kind of do the math on what the what the function of that is but get get in here on the discussion of um this approach cuz I think it’s important um that and people in the chat are mentioning it and I went there is you know it’s to players when you win it’s to coaches when you lose I get that mindset but it seems like it’s the coordinators when they lose and a team effort when they win I I don’t this is another one of those things is like this is going off the rails um and I’m just not sure how how the fan base spe specifically and the players are supposed to react to it but you need to share some Infinite Wisdom um and then I do have a a couple questions for Jason about the game itself and jacobe chriswell but Buck your take on all this mess well as as to Max’s unwillingness to uh own every decision made during the game uh by everyone I can see how that could work on people’s nerves a little bit uh players even on the players nerves the coordinator nerves uh but I’m pretty sure uh these coaches both of them uh Lindsay and Collins knew walking in the door this is how Mack does it this is the way he’s always done it uh you know he’s he’s not going to uh he’s going to put me front and center and this has been a different thing for North Carolina football under Matt Brown at press conferences every week he has Collins and Lindsay uh during the season available to the media nobody I’ve ever known at UNC has ever done that um and I think in most cases it’s a good thing but I think we’re going off a little on the rails here uh on on this subject matter because really a lot of times um you’re not gaining any more information if m brown said says yeah you know what it’s my fault uh we were supposed to do X Y and Z and we screwed it up and so blame me um that doesn’t change the product on the field you know that that has no bearing on what you’re actually looking at uh and it’s really more about fans and media um asking a c a grievance question you know I’m I’m upset with this and I want you to make me feel better about it by taking all the blame we’re pass that we’re past that uh we’re past the part where we talk about how old Mack is if Mack was 45 years old and uh you know put the product on the field that he put on there yesterday would would it make you feel any better about the future of North Carolina football if he was Jason’s age uh would you all of a sudden say oh well okay you know it it’ll be fine eventually no you wouldn’t you would say here in near Six and these are the results you’re giving us we need to do something different thank you for trying but it’s not working out uh so I I think we probably ought to move past the things that we can move past from uh and you know the the gripes about Max uh press conferences and how he does it um and stop griping about his age and stop griping about this that or the other Factor you don’t like about m brown personally it wouldn’t matter if he was doing aceing all of those as long as you’re putting that product on the field on a Saturday afternoon none of that matters you have to find a way in this day and age especially the in the critical situation that college sports are or in you you got to you know move on and to and put a better product on the field or you know just say I’m okay with irrelevant being irrelevant uh that’s kind of where I am with all that yeah in Carolina is moving quickly towards irrelevance on the college football landscape um at least on the field product talking to Jason Staples and buck Sanders here Johnny t-shirt Johnny t-shirt.com sponsors of National guys pay the bills coming back with the day after we’re going to talk a little bit about this game and the approach and see what happens all right it’s the day after that’s Buck it’s Jason it’s Tommy Jason let’s talk a little bit about the actual game plan we saw I don’t think anything we saw yesterday was what we ever talked about on Thursday and I’m not quite sure I know what the plan was at all can you sort of can you sort of help me out here and help the fan base out here and understand what Carolina was trying to accomplish um on the field against the Boston College team who’s been good at times but not very good at times and it seemed like everything they did worked everything North Carolina did seemed like they had not worked on your thoughts there well I disagree that this was uh that this was not a that we didn’t see what we what we talked about on on the game plan because we did on one side of the ball Boston College did exactly everything that we talked about I mean to the to the letter they did what we expected I mean how many times did they try to run that little rail route wheel route to the to the HB or to the backs how many times did they come out and and run little flat routes or little option routes to those guys I mean and they did it with success all game uh they you know they lined up and they ran the football exactly the same kind of Concepts that that everybody knew they were going to do the the weird thing was what Carolina did like and that’s where you’re 100% right what we saw from Carolina in terms of of game plan I I’m not exactly sure how to explain it I mean here’s the thing later in the week you know maybe maybe pressure on on Monday we’re going to hear about how well you know got a C we had a couple turnovers that that cost us a couple touchdowns and you know you take those out of play and this is this is a real close game you know you’re looking at take those take two of the turnovers that led to immediate points away and you get you get down to to uh 2721 you know then we’re right in it well here’s the thing I mean there’s some truth to that and I mentioned that earlier in the podcast that this game could have been a lot closer going into the fourth in terms of the scoreboard because of some of those things you had you have you know the pick six that was a factor can’t remember if that was early fourth or or late third uh you had another interception that was a big factor in terms of change in uh change in field position you had a lot of those things but at the the truth is when you look at the third quarter numbers so through the third quarter these were the numbers 27-7 total yards 359 to 80 y’all that that’s not close that’s why I pushed back a little bit on you that you say it could have been closer because this game was 41 it was 41 to7 and Carolina hadn’t scored an offensive touchdown right it could have been closer but this is where I I look at it and I go okay how have you had success All Season what have you done offensively that has worked and what hasn’t worked and then what did you do here’s through the through the third quarter had 15 rushing attempts which included six sacks at 18 pass attempts where they went 10 of 18 for two picks I’m not sure why you you decide that you’re going to run the football so if you take those six sacks out of the rushing attempts that’s nine carries through three quarters for your Ace running back what have you done well all season pretty much everything you’ve done well all season on offense has gone through number 28 because that guy’s pretty good now it’s true nine carries for 32 yards through three quarters not dominant not great that’s still 3.5 yards per carry and not a whole lot of getting hit in the back field I’m not sure what what happened here in terms of the offensive plan because it looked to me like they lost patience early in the game and decided to try to to take advantage of maybe what they saw as as opportunities to get the ball out but to me it was pretty obvious early on that jacobe Chiswell was not seeing things especially well uh and that part of that was that they couldn’t block him in the passing game what have you struggled with the most all season offensively it’s been the outside pass rush against certain teams and if those teams have legit Edge rushers that can that can really go that’s been a real problem and yesterday when they dropped back to pass they dropped back you know through three quarters they dropped back 24 times and gave up six sacks and that’s not even including the other ones where they got rid of the football you know the the pick six was a play where uh you know it was obvious that jacobe chriswell was in the grasp and was just trying to throw it to the sideline just get it out of there probably would have been a grounding call either way but that’s what he was trying to do and he just couldn’t get enough on the ball because he was he was in the grasp so that’s not a sack but it’s worse than a sack they but one in four attempts to throw the football wound up with a sack and then another one and four or so was Heavy pressure from from the jump at that point you got to figure out what you’re doing protection wise to help the guy that can’t that can’t block that guy and you had a couple of those or you’ve got to pair down what you’re doing in the passing game to get the ball out so quickly that it’s just not a possibility for you know you wouldn’t even need a guy to to to block just quarterback okay here’s your here’s your onew if that’s not there you throw it over you throw it over the head out of bounds because you’re going to only have a second second and a half somehow they it seemed to me that they just hadn’t hadn’t planned enough for the kind of pressure that they were under in the passing game and I don’t understand that I think defensively you know that that was a game that that kind of we expected I mean I picked car I picked uh Boston College to score 31 points and the reason was I thought they’d win a lot up front thought they’d be able to move the football I thought they’d be able to get some advantages on the on the safeties and the and the backers we talked about all that and you know looking at the numbers 4.5 yards per carry through three quarters and you know 18 of 27 for 192 yards passing that’s within the you know within the the the the expectation of what we what we thought we’d see you add the couple turnovers to that and you get the the inflated number of points given up so defensively I thought they were okay and I thought the plan was was generally fine they just got pushed around so the problem was that they just they had zero on offense to offer and when you’re in that position that’s when games get out of control that’s when games get out of hand and it’s because they couldn’t protect and they weren’t running the football not that they couldn’t run the football they didn’t run the football that’s the baffling thing yeah I thought I thought Boston College was effective getting their quarterback in a rhythm with easy throws and Carolina never seems to do that Boston College threw to set up the run when everybody thought they would run to set up the pass and then Carolina who knows but I I know talking about the game’s not really important here so I’m going to just let you RI on on whatever you want to here your column’s up or it will be up shortly um for those that prefer the written word but but what’s next I mean I debated why they’re calling this The Rock Bottom are they at the bottom the point of no return whatever we wanted to talk about but but where are we in your Sage advice where where are we here watching Carolina football at this moment in time within C State on tap Saturday well the place we’re in is uh some sort of indecisive hell is where we are um there there needs to be some clarity um and uh supposedly or maybe uh it’s possible that we’ll get some clarity after next weekend’s game but uh just to pretend that what’s happening on the field for UNC football is not worthy of comment at this point in terms of uh here’s why you can feel confident about UNCC football going forward and and maybe contribute some of your dollars to that effort uh where is that at you know uh even if North Carolina beats CC state which I I don’t think it’s going to happen I thought I saw somewhere uh maybe I’m mistaken that North Carolina is favored by four in that game opening line I mean if at this point Vegas is just trolling UNCC no the troll would be if they were up if they were a 10.5 or 11-point favorite to just to make him a double digit that would have been the ultimate troll right there and uh and you know uh I don’t know how North Carolina even gets favored in these games I’m sure Vegas has a an algorithm that has served them well they they they’re none of those Vegas boogies are homeless people uh so they’re doing quite well in their life use relying on what they have in front of them uh but it’s it’s incredible to me that North Carolina could be favored by points over NC State and if that holds up uh you know everybody will say Yi be at least we beat NC State but the question is how do you feel about the the uh future of UNCC sports or college football and UNC football how do you feel about the future how does that look to you and if based on the answer that you get how does the athletic Administration a make an appeal to UNC football fans and donors and boosters and uh season ticket holders uh to support UNC football based on what they’re seeing with no changes I mean we’re okay with this product uh you can’t make that argument and to pretend that you can is uh counterproductive somebody needs to get in front of this and say hey we understand that uh a few of you folks out there may be upset about what you’re seeing on the football field rest assured we’re going to deal with these questions at the conclusion of the Season something along those lines uh but uh just to let UNC football continue to Hang Fire I think is the the wrong approach to take I will say these two things about the game we just watched just so I don’t get completely shut out of the expert commentary on uh Monday or Tuesday of this week uh I’ll try to find something valuable to say which is when uh when North Carolina uh uh lined up to face a field goal by Boston College in the first quarter and uh their field goal kicker who had kicked one one successful field goal all season long lines up and Nails a 49 y I said we’re in trouble this game this game is not going to go the way that UNCC fans want it to because the guy that has only hit one field goal all year long just lined up and nailed a 49 y like it was nothing so there’s that but as far as the some of the things that Jason was uh addressing is that the on third down if you look at the third down stats third down efficiency stats they tell you all you need to know about this game from a schematic X’s and O’s uh proposition uh North Carolina had third and nine plus yards eight times eight times they faced third down play of third and nine or more Boston College faced two um third and short North Carolina had one third and short opportunity the entire game and they didn’t make that Boston College had five third and short that’s third and four or less they had five of those and uh they converted four of them um they moved the ball successfully on the first two downs to get the third down and how many of those passes did you see from Grayson uh James that were of the three or four yard length um just short passes designed to uh get the ball out of his hands quick and gain three or four yards well their average uh yards per attempt throwing the ball was 4.4 that’s ridiculously low you shouldn’t be able to win a football game and throw for those that number of short passes uh so uh on first and second down Boston College was getting the job done North Carolina was not on offense they were not getting the ball getting the job done on first and second down they left themselves so many third and long opportunities that they were beating themselves and they should have done a figured out a way schemed a way and I’m I’m putting a lot of this on chip Lindsay here to get those three and four and five yard uh plays uh called so that jacobe chriswell is not facing third nine on eight different occasions if you want to figure out why he was sacked six times start there because it takes a lot more time to complete a third and nine than it does a third and two plus the defense knows you’re going to throw the ball you’ve got no choice but to throw the ball and so you end up getting sack six times part of that the offensive line is not playing great but part of it is just play calling you know run some of those uh you know running back rail routes which I looked up this year this week so I could figure out what they were after reading Jason’s column uh looked to me like it’s just a angle to the sideline basically that the running back is on but in any event uh Tommy we were chatting yesterday during the game he was talking about Boston College running wheel route after wheel route well look Carolina could have done the same thing they’ve got that they’ve got the capability to go there if they want and plus they got urray and Hampton into the backfield but bottom line for me the game was over in the first quarter the script was written the game was over North Carolina had to ball five plays in the first quarter of the game Boston College had it like 22 uh you’re not going to win ball games like that if your defense can’t get off the field and your offense can’t stay on the field you’re going to lose that’s just how it is so uh that’s where I would end up talking about yesterday’s ball game moving forward is a bigger question a much bigger question and I don’t think silence at some at some point I think silence is respectful from uh the decision makers of m brown at some point I think silence is the way to go and at other times it’s time to talk it’s time to say something um and I think this is one of those times maybe you use the excuse well you know we got the NC State game coming up let’s get past that and then we can just say whatever we want to um so maybe that’s the approach they’re taking but uh at this point we we just have to uh move past all of this uh should he stay or should he go and start thinking about the future of North Carolina football Jason you want to get in on anything before we get out of here we’re going to be early I’m not sure it can be said much better I uh I mean we could start talking about it may be premature but I’ve seen some folks in the chat talking about well you know who who would Carolina have as uh as possibilities for the next next half if they did start making a change I mean that’s about the only thing we could do and we probably should punt that for another another show a little bit later but uh you know I’ve got I’ve got my own list and you know I I would definitely if I were making a if I were making that call I would be uh also calling my friend Dave baru who uh has a has his list too and i’ I’d want to compare some notes yeah and uh folks that are on the inside Carolina Premium boards have seen the massive thread um that currently has 5661 posts and almost 333,000 [Music] views um if you want to know what people are talking about about Carolina football from the hardcore fans it’s right there Buck to your point I’m not sure that the non-hardcore fans are even thinking about it um and who knows the The Silence from the administration is not surprising at all to me Carolina goes to Boston College
