Iowa State to advance to the semis of Maui UNC said we can beat that and pulled off a 21 Point comeback to get the semifinals of Maui uh trip the championship on the line here for these two teams both have looked great in this tournament both have looked awful in this tournament should make for a fun game on Tuesday night Riley do you both teams obviously come into this game off of highs is there going to be like a a let down in this game emotionally there kind of has to be for both sides right yeah there’s part of me that think it’s going to be a sloppy game that you look at both of these teams and how they’ve scored this year I mean Carolina is the the fifth ranked offense on Kim pom right now Auburn is a couple ticks higher at number two two top five offenses to where you think maybe this is a fireworks game where both teams get into the 80s maybe the 90s there’s part of me that thinks like coming off emotional wins for both giving it all you have to pull off these epic comebacks it could be a sloppy game in the 60s and uh I hope it’s not that way because I think that favors Auburn just because they they have a significantly better def defense they’re much better on the glass and I think that it would favor I think it just favors Auburn if it’s like a slowed down Slug It Out physical Rock fight essentially but um yeah I I just I hope it just provides a fraction of the entertainment that the first two games did well let’s let’s start looking at Auburn um you brought them up kind of the ability to win a rock fight they are the most proven team in the country at this point in the season they have the win over Houston they have the win over Iowa State they did that with largely play of their back court but Janai broom was also phenomenal he put forth a national Player of the Year performance he’s now going up against a North Carolina team that has questions in the front Court to to put it nicely what are you expecting to see from Auburn in this game what’s the biggest key to them winning do they just like spam Touches for Janai broom and dare UNC to stop it that like that’s kind of what it comes down to for me um uncc’s really struggling especially with bigs who can shoot like you if you against Dayton they had the the seven foot French kid who every time they ran a they ran a pick and pop for him it led to a wideopen three where either there was a there was a switch um and a miscommunication with like a smaller guy on on the seven-footer or it was Jaylen Washington or vin Allen Luben struggling to step out to the perimeter and uh even looking at Janai broom he just he just hit that big three that tied the game in the second half against Iowa State finish with two makes on the day um I I don’t know that even that big three he hit to tie it it shows to you he’s he’s one of those players who just makes timely plays he hits Big Time shots and if it’s a close game even and you get a you get a pick and pop three for him I like the advantage for Auburn there and of course that’s not even mentioning him when he when he gets into the paint that’s where I think um he should be able to get Jaylen Wasington in V trouble if you put venan Luben on him unless Luben can Channel what he did in the second half against Dickinson and Allen Fieldhouse it’s a massive Advantage for broom as well um to where the the guards probably just need to be if if you get a big time broom game if he stays out of foul trouble on the other end I would say the guards just need to make their open shots and I think it’s a relatively big Advantage for Auburn the guards are interesting right because Tod pedford had the huge game against Houston the quartet of them uh with peder Miles Kelly Denver Jones uh and Chaz Baker mazara all played well in spurts against Iowa State and led that comeback Victory but I think just looking at things at large the RJ Davis Elliot CanΓ³ um Seth Trimble combo and you can even throw Ian Jackson and Drake pal the start freshman Off the Bench there probably has the better backourt or at least the more talented backourt I’m interested to see how that battle plays out just looking at the back courts what do you see you’re hoping to see from from that matchup yeah I would honestly say UNCC has a huge advantage in the back court I just I just for me as a like okay this is taking off the analyst hat going fan view here is just I always ex maybe not always I usually expect the worst which does make me a little fearful that unc’s guards go cold or something and that Auburn can just get whatever it wants through its front court and it doesn’t really matter but when you look at it more objectively on paper I think UNCC does have the the huge Advantage with house head trimbles playing um RJ Davis just played his best half of the Season second half against Dayton finished with 30 30 in that game like those two seem like they’re clicking we’ve seen how good kdo can be this year I don’t know if I mean he’s been among the best in the country at orchestrating an offense and knowing when to get his teammates involved knowing when to get downhill and draw fouls uh just is coming off a really rough game against Dayton but um yeah that that to me it’s the formula for UNC all season if they want to win these games it involves big time Big Time performances from all three and a lot of free throws from all three they got to get to the line that’s where they’ve been the best yeah and if they do that probably means Janai broom’s get in foul trouble which further increases their chances of winning uh Janai broom RJ Davis National Player of the Year Stakes here I’ll just two best players who do you expect to play better now that you put me on the spot I got to go with my guy I gotta go RJ I gotta go R Island there is a uh a tweet circulating that Island RJ Davis is uh has been really good he was really good in Atlantis last year so you just get RJ on an island and he hits another level so um I think it was really good for RJ to hit four threes yesterday to hit a couple step backs to to see some shots go in after starting the year on a really bad like in a pretty bad shooting slump I think he builds off of that and we get another 25 plus point game from him um as good as Auburn’s defense has been do you really trust Denver Jones or tahad peder guarding him no and and we just saw Kean Gilbert go for 23 in 21 minutes against them RJ is the best shot Creator in the country if he is hitting his shots which he had not up until this last game but if he’s found something he’s going to be able to I think create what he wants to yeah I I’m with you on that and uh sorry I don’t know if you can hear my dog barking in the back backround is a little bit distracting but okay cool gonna keep powering through it then yeah his uh his shot I’m with you and still still great at getting to his pullup game as well um yeah if he if he’s able to to build off of this performance against Dayton it’s not breaking any news but he can he can flip a game on its head so Island RJ I I think all of us wish we were our best selves on an island or at least view ourselves our best selves while we’re on an in the first half it was it was like something stupid his offensive rating against Dayton was 300 respect my man Drake it’s time to put him in the starting lineup yeah yeah he’s gonna he’s gonna continue to I honestly I don’t know who he’s gonna make life difficult for probably Chad Baker mazara he might get thrown onto Janai broom and spurts but yeah I I that’d be a welcome to college basketball moment yeah sounded a lot better in my head when I said it out loud I don’t know if I like that but let me get the heels winning this game I’m fired up Drake pal in the start lineup I think you slid Seth Trimble to the four I’ve been I’ve been calling for it I think you could use him in the Gary pton the second way that the Warriors used him he had 10 boards against tton and Jaylen Withers was relatively non-existent in that game put washingon the five Seth Trimble who had 10 boards can play Big at the four I want to see that lineup I want to see go C with that UNC made its run when it was it made its run when it was RJ Ian Seth Drake Washington and then kdo when Ian Jackson set like that was the that was the lineup that played the majority of the second half got to stick with it gotta roll with it gotta stick with it let’s go I I I made that comp in the offseason and I love I it’s now in my head Seth Trimble is Gary Payton the second on the Warriors let’s not get let’s not get too many ideas for him to leave after this year though well it it’ll help when they lose to Auburn because I’m still taking Auburn to win this game um I’ll have UNCC covering the spread of four and a half because I think this is another very close game um Auburn has giv me no reason not to trust them we said this in the Auburn I would say recap I think Auburn’s the best team in the
