and now we’ve got claudo Raneri back at the helm so it’s been a very Troublesome start to the season and um even though the season is just about you know 13 games old it feels like you know we’ve had a very very very long season and um you know it’s I mean we as fans just waiting for the season to end to be honest it’s it’s been a right off already so um it’s pretty sad you know it started with so much of promise and it’s kind of blown into flames right now n [Music] Namaste radzi my name is aay Menan I’m a as Roma IA Roma fan from India I’ve been supporting Roma for about 20 odd years and uh you know it started because of the love to Franchesco toti but it’s grown I’ve I’ve been lucky to visit the city and you know experience the love from uh the locals over there and also fortunate enough to meet franches kti and get a signed autograph from him and in India we have a small community of about 15 to 18 uh romanti all across uh the country and um I have my own channel my own YouTube channel called AJ man and sports where I create content around Roma Italian football cricket and other sports but I also corun Alo churcha which is the home for Italian football fans based in India so that was my introduction and we’ll get to the questions that’s been asked by Chris starting with what have you made of Roma so far the season in all competitions well the season started with so much of Promise because Daniel de rosi our club Legend was uh given a three-year deal and we spent heavily in the summer transfer market we got in the likes of artm doic who was the top scorer in the La Liga last season we got in Matia sule highly rated Winger from U Max humel was brought in uh at least a big name on paper but we made a lot of signings in a lot of departments and um we started a bit shakily uh no wins in four and then all of a sudden the ri was sacked out of the blue there was a whole um chaos that happened in you know in the Roma management that also led to the CEO CE o suu resigning and going and overall you know the um the mess at the top kind of transpired into the players and um after the rosi was sacked you know we got in Ivan Urich and Ivan Urich himself you know did not last long and now we’ve got claudo Raneri back at the helm so it’s been a very Troublesome start to the season and um even though the season is just about you know 13 games old it feels like you know we’ve had a very very very long season and um you know it’s I mean we as fans just waiting for the season to end to be honest it’s it’s been a right off already so um it’s pretty sad you know it started with so much of promise and it’s kind of blown into flames right now the second question is what have you made of the appointment of claudo Raneri well like I mentioned in the first um answer Raneri was brought in to bring back some stability to the club because Raneri knows this environment well and of course you know he’s you know a local manista so he knows the values of the club he knows the values of the people and he was you know retired and he was enjoying his retirement but the fkins called out to him and he’s probably the right man to come and stabilize things and bring back some you know romanita back to the club at at these U um tough times so um Ranieri well um it’s a short-term fix but it is a fix that this club needs at this point of time just to get the house back in order all right the third question is are the Roma fans feeling confident on getting a good result against Spurs I don’t think so man I mean um overall Roma’s record uh away in England has been pretty poor uh Roma do struggle against English opposition from time to time and um I don’t think so Roma have won I think there was just one game that Roma won against Liverpool many years ago which was probably the last win in England um otherwise you know we we’ve had a very atrocious record in England so um this game being in London in you know spurs’ home stadium I don’t think so we are pretty we’re not confident at all going into this game uh given up PO record in England and just you know how the season has uh sort of like panned out uh so far it’s I mean it’s spur startus clear favorites man for this can you talk about the Roma Europa League’s game so far well nothing to write home about we you know struggling and you know which is why we’re not in the higher echelons of the table uh The only positive was um the game against Athletic Club we held our own we should have buried the game but one the lead wasn’t enough really because they equalized right at the death so which has been a pattern for Roma’s season so far you know like uh the games where Roma have looked good somehow we you know we found a way for the opposition to you know come back and snatch something from the game game otherwise a loss against elves Borg is is also pretty shambolic so nothing to write home about after you know five to six years of good European performances across the Champions League the Europa League and the conference League um this year everything has unraveled and you know it’s already looking at a you know at a very uh Lost Cause And of course we play Spurs who are probably uh you know the the most difficult fixture in a Europa League campaign so it’s things things are not looking good at this point of time what have we made of toau him so far this season and thoughts on manager and poslu and the four games so far in the Europa League well um obviously you know I do watch a lot of premier league as well and I do follow all the um action from England so Spurs of course the the the most recent win was a 4-nil drubbing of Man City and um I I see a lot of uh so there there are a lot of Spurs fan here in in India especially in Mumbai a very strong Spurs community so um they always speak about Dr Tottenham Hots Spa they always speak about those losses against Brighton and ips switch and then you know suddenly you have uh this win against City the Jael and hiy the Robin Hood I mean there’s so many parallels to draw right but I think overall um an po KLU is uh a coach with a positive mindset who fits in very well with the Spurs philosophy to be honest um to play a brand of attacking football and many forget that pagu actually achieved a lot of success in Asia with Australia and it’s not an easy place to win uh you know Asia especially with the likes of Japan South Korea Saudi Arabia Iran and of course Qatar also now coming in so um you know ploted to polu obviously he won titles with Celtic as well but a very good coach and I think um he should be the long-term coach in my opinion for for Spurs and uh I think ing the galatas game it’s been it’s been pretty okay for Spurs as well and I would say that along with um you know man united they’re probably you know one of the title contenders from England for this year’s Europa League which is ironically the uh the sixth question so I would initially pick you know one of the Spanish sides to be to be you know going a long way in in this in this year’s competition because just historically Spanish teams have been really good uh you know in this in this Europa League um uh kind of uh trophy whatever so I would pick a a Spanish side um along with maybe a United and Spurs because I don’t think so an outsider will um have a chance to win um either the Europa League or the Champions League just because the new format is long you need a you know a stronger Squad you need depth in you know your squad which I feel the the Richer teams you know in in the top five leagues have you know so uh for example like a Porto uh who have an equally good chance of winning probably in this new format have their chances kind of uh you know minimized because you know it demands for you know a stronger depth in Squad and there more fixtures and um I just feel that it could be between the Spanish and English teams this time in this year’s Europa League so yeah I I like I like the new format I mean you know as fans we we get to see more games but obviously it’s it’s it takes a toll on the players as well so um I don’t know I mean let’s let’s just you know let let the season pass and we’ll give a rating on how successful or unsuccessful the new format has been across European competition what sort of game do you expect on Thursday and how Will Roma set up tactically so um I think Spurs will have the owners to go and score and you know take um take the game by the Scruff of the neck because Spurs are the home team the inform team Roma in you know on the other hand are a team who are struggling we are 12th 13th in Sera right now and we don’t have a great record um this season if you watch the Napoli Roma game Raneri setup you know with a 451 initially and then he moved to a three-man backline u the goal was not to concede you know we lost lost the game 1 nil uh through a through a mistake um You can call it a mistake from Angelino and humel but um Roma will set up defensively in this game as well I think um we will try to absorb pressure and everything that’s first throw at us I do not know how successful we’re going to be but um the the motive uh behind Raneri setup will be not to concede and probably try to do something from the counter uh um and just get a point I mean you know at this point of time if you ask me if Roma can get a point away uh you know at first I would take it and run home I mean um that’s how uh awful Roma have been this year so Roma will be playing for a point I’m sure and Spurs will obviously set up to win do you think Roma will go strong in terms of starting 11 as Spurs have made a number of changes in this competition so far I think yes because Raneri is still trying to figure out remember but this is the third coach this year right so R is still trying to figure out you know how to utilize his players so I I don’t think so there’ll be a lot of changes in terms of personnel um at this point of time to be very honest and candidate with you the kind of season we’ve had uh we don’t know our strongest L we don’t know our strongest formation at this point of time as I said third coach in the year right so um I think we’ll see uh uh you know the likes of dock who was our main Striker this year the likes of uh you know Enda manini swar the regular players play for Roma who are The Stand Out players for Roma who should we look out and worry about I think um primarily it has to be artm doic um I know that you don’t have your uh center backs for this game so doic is a you know physical um Striker he brings in you know that strength and you know he can hold up the ball he’s very good in the air as well so artm doic has being a constant goal threat for Roma and I think he should be the player that you should look out for and of course if Paulo dybala plays uh depending on his Fitness historically you know he’s um had some good games in Europe especially against English opposition so you know if Pao deala play also be very about dybala expected lineup for Roma and your score prediction um well my score prediction if if I have to you know go with my head I would say it’ll be a Spurs win uh in my heart I just hope that Roma uh the the Roma players play for the shirt and you know somehow Come Away with a draw um I don’t think so it’s I I don’t see a Roma wi happening that’s for sure but I just hope that there is some pride you know uh at the end of the day when uh the two teams step out to play um Roma will will go in the same formation like they set up against Napoli maybe a 451 maybe a you know a 3511 it’ll be defensive there’ll be Wing backs who would be obviously uh very of the threat post by son and Koski in kvi so I think it’s going to be a defensive setup for for Roma and um I hope that we we can just come out you know um Come Away with with a point on the road that would be a a major win considering how awful the season has been for Roma and romanti um thank you so much for for
