saluton it’s me I’m back sorry about that I kind of screwed up the intro there but the good news is we’re actually here to watch the Montreal Canad or to discuss the Montreal Canadians winning a game that’s uh two games this year that they’ve beat the Columbus Blue Jackets and uh it was a really interesting game because there was a lot to talk about including how well your I saf kovski played so I’ll be counting on the chat to be my co-host tonight and I see we have our regular people here as per usual and I do appreciate all your support you don’t need the Spiel like subscribe tell your friends tell your grandma she probably wants to talk hockey right now um I will be MMO for the entire show and then you’re going to see a lot more of me moving forward so Andrew is kind of going to be working a lot more on the uh the business side of things and of course K will be here as well so you get a break from me here and there tonight I thought the Montreal Canadians had one of their most consistent performances and when you discuss the Habs consistency is really you know the basis of all issues it’s kind of cheap saying that because consist consistency is virtually impossible unless you’re Alex edkin but overall considering this is a team that really has had a hard time putting together 60 Minutes Or 65 minutes this was a great effort you know I i’ almost argue that it was a better effort than the last game against Columbus because you know they controlled more of the chances but either way it was fantastic and it was fun so first of all hi CLA I don’t know if you’re in the chat but I got to say my hi CLA and um one of the first things that we should note that wet is saying seven wins seven wins in a row against Columbus which is kind of crazy when you think about it um I guess they don’t play that much but it’s not like they San Jose where they play once every three years right so I don’t know maybe you shouldn’t have the uh oh a little quiet yeah I’m I I can adjust that I can adjust that just for you there you go but I don’t want to be too loud there Trak sorry about that AR do do it well let me know if this is a little bit better so moving forward I think the Habs have something really nice to work with here you know you had your ice slavkovsky bounceback game and he was crucial to both goals now what you’ll note is that slavski both those plays were scored off the rush and again that’s very important for the hubs because when it comes down to their style of play they’re great on the cycle um their for checks is fantastic scoring off the rush is quite rare and it’s a sign of a healthy team usually like scoring off the rush is the frogs in a pond you know in terms of health if if you don’t see any frogs the Lake’s probably not very healthy and if you don’t see a team score off the rush uh you know there are chances that they’re not going to make the playoffs so so tonight fantastic FC in that regard and uh you know Kaden Primo we’ll discuss that a little bit later but I have a little bit of soft spot for for Kaden Primo right now I know he gets criticized but you could really write a book about how not to develop a goenda uh starring uh Mr Primo you know it just it it was absolutely they dropped the ball and I know that he hasn’t played well but you know goalies need their regular ice time to do half decent and Premo plays you know two weeks and he knows his GM and his coach doesn’t have much trust in him so it’s a very difficult situation and this goes back all the way to Laval like Primo has been put in these weird unfortunate situations from the time M promised them to be carry prices back up when he convinced them to leave Northeastern to to now right so it’s just been a like bungling of of Primo’s really his his potential you know because we’ say it’s quite apparent that he’s no longer going to develop into a into you know well a little early but it seems the way that the Canadians lack trust in them it’s fairly likely that he’ll never get many starts you know with the Habs and and they’ll move on pretty soon which is unfortunate you know because he put his time in in Laval and uh as a former goalie I always feel bad for goalies you know that I always always defend them and then I turn around and trade them oh hi Claire how’s it going uh Bernardo brings up the best point tonight I think which is one of the big Silver Linings this season has been the play of Emil heinan it’s it’s difficult to play well in the fourth line it genuinely is you know people will suggest that it’s not important those those contributions or the third pairing is not important but those again are the signs of a healthy team and if you have a third pairing that’s getting out shot constantly you know 15 minutes a game minimum and then there’s the rest of the team that hasn’t been doing all great you know it’s such a huge anchor so we’re seeing Emil hinan uh on the fourth line which what 10 12 minutes a game if those 12 minutes can be to the Canadians Advantage which is you know what Hinman really does when he’s on the ice that’s a huge Boon it’s you can’t ignore it so I’m happy for heaman that his strong work is starting to get uh rewarded a little bit like we saw him use his speed his physicality and his shot tonight I don’t know what everyone feels let me know but I I I’m almost circling him for a top six duties but it’s it’s a little premature to do that at this point but there’s a lot to like in heyman’s game and he doesn’t take a single shift off on a team where that’s not necessarily the case throughout the lineup I think there’s a lot of value there I just I really would would like to see him shoot as often as he can and I feel he’s essentially there it’s like the opposite of stovsky um but more ice time is probably warranted right now for Emil heinan it’s it’s he’s doing a a lot with a little and for a struggling team that’s just absolutely a uh you know a a a a fantastic Boon to have at the bottom of the lineup and did anyone else notice that the lines got changed immediately or am I going crazy here okay because I was under the assumption that stav kovski was on the second line or whatever you want to call it these days right and Jake Evans fell to the fourth and Kirby do fell to the third and slavkovsky both his points came alongside either Coffield or Suzuki right so I when new Hook was on that line they actually had really good underlying stats which is important but uh it’s also a good reminder of the importance of having good good Lin mates right so we saw slavkovsky just a fantastic idea to shoot on that first goal oh my God my goodness I’m gonna I’m GNA start uh renting planes just to go around his Towers they shoot all the time and beyond that I don’t think it would be a terrible idea for him to make maybe get and I understand the way I look this is a little you know it’s a little Rich for me to be commenting on an athlete but um his shot release he could probably work on getting his shot off a little bit faster like that was a great goal uh good placement but you’re noticing his double clutching a lot so if if he can get that shot off a little bit faster the world will open up for Sav kovski you know what I mean so be greedy and and maybe work on your shot would be you know my opinion and my advice to to the 20-year-old professional hockey player is it’s just he’s always too generous I want to see uay slavkovsky become very very greedy and and he had Suzuki on the other side there so usually I feel like Sosi would defer all the time and uh we saw him take a a great shot great goal the second one again um just a a great defensive Presence by by slavkovsky like even if the goal doesn’t happen that’s a play that we have to look at and see he wasn’t doing that couple of years ago so I know it’s been really difficult for him this year from a production standpoint but there’s actually a lot to like about what slavkovsky is doing his overall chances are essentially the same like his high quality chances which is not bad because he’s shooting less so that shot number went down but almost all his other numbers have skyrocketed including primary assists so you know when you have a guy that’s maybe not scoring goals but he’s setting up a lot of plays and we know he’s a playmaker he was never buil as a goal we can maybe get a little less impatient when he doesn’t score but but that being said he needs to score more often so I’m playing kind of both sides here but um I I genuinely think if he Shores up the scoring the actual goal scoring not the assist because again this is the best he’s ever done and I think he’s leading the Habs and primary assist per 60 if the shots start coming heavy and often good things will happen to uh to your ice lovsky you know it’s it’s it’s a confidence issue as well right so once a few of those start going in you all know when you played hockey that feeling when you when they start going in it’s like nothing will stop you but when you start getting robbed you feel like you’ll never score again so hopefully he’s hitting that uh that wave there you know what I mean that that would be nice for your lovsky because I think he does deserve maybe a little bit better luck in the shooting department but mechanics are are you know are part of it uh Ben mentions uh rare edition of the Habs where special teams play yeah are played better than the five on five well the good news is I’d have to check well someone else can check if you you have a chance the high danger scoring chances were even I believe but yeah great great work by the uh special teams and uh you’re seeing every single guy Go full Kaden Gully this year right on the penalty kill I feel like they’re probably doing you know they’re getting scored on almost as much but they are committing to kind of just recklessly abandon any kind of idea of keeping their bodies safe so that’s uh that’s always encouraging and I will mention this it’s not to insult Lane Hudson but you know how everyone said that Mike Mat was the issue on the top pairing I don’t know now that we’ve seen Hudson and it’s so unfair to judge him based on two games but the Habs have not generated more shots while Hudson’s on the ice um they’ve generated fewer on the power play and fewer scoring chances so the goal here is me is not to denigrate the 20-year-old like that’s crazy he’s the youngest defenseman in the lineup he’s going to make mistakes and we see see that the cool part is martini and stanid they still trust him after those mistakes and I have to say that’s contrary to what we saw with let’s say PK suban or or anyone else that was good carrying the puck so I like the trust level you know that’s been put on there but I would warn against throwing the baby out with the bathwater here because Mike math is still a very valuable player for the Mel canans that being said hey you know the hubs picked up three points out of the last four without mathon so maybe that’s a a little sign that they’re kind of getting over the uh the veteran hump there that some of the younger players are taking over but I saw Mike mat’s name on a tradeboard today and I thought it’s time probably the best time to get good value out of him um unfortunately he still makes such a huge impact for the Canadians you know what I mean so off the rush that’s you know in another world Mike Math’s a 50 goal scorer that plays left wing you know so that would uh but but it’s great to see Hudson in that power play number one and it’s not I don’t want to just criticize him I think one of the best things that he does is opening up those passing Lanes the players are starting to do a little bit better job anticipating Hudson’s like Elite passing the downside is he has no well not that he doesn’t have a shot but a lot of the goals in the NCAA that he scored from the point where wiers kind of just whipping it in for a rebound so it doesn’t necessarily surprise me that he’s not scoring a ton of goals um he’s generating a lot of Second Chance opportunities and that’s actually his whole he’s not trying to score he’s trying to get those rebounds but um yeah don’t expect Lane Hudson to be scoring you know 20 goals a season in the NHL next year when he reaches 20 goals you can pull this clip and laugh at me but uh yeah I I just he just doesn’t shoot enough really to to get to that uh or not high quality chances you know what I mean oh did Claire leave bye Claire terrible she abandoned us so early okay so in the third uh segment we’re going to take discuss everything the fans want to discuss um before we get there I would like to uh mention so we do have a few fundraising platforms going on right now so there’s L Rouch and and um the main one patreon as well so you can go check that under the uh the message here and also sorry the the text underneath our uh our live stream also I’d like to encourage everyone to watch um uh um hyperdrive with Dean I’m going to start all that over Dean melbu and uh Max vanut and they host that every day and it’s an absolutely fan Fantastic show it’s kind of a recap of what happened in the NHL with a you know starring two fantastic hosts um in a fun setting you know what I mean it’s a little less rigid than most so going into this I feel like there was the criticism was starting to mount when it came to uh Nick Suzuki and it’s something I want to discuss with you all because I genuinely I don’t know what it is but I feel like it’s very difficult to honestly criticize Suzuki like I read several people saying he is having his worst year of his career and I have a genuinely hard time accepting that just just knowing what he does for the team like beyond the scoring but today at least you know uh overtime goal people will get off his back a little bit I just I just really don’t understand what more he could do than being a point per game player on a team that um shoots less than almost any other team in the league you know what I mean mean like the the tools aren’t necessarily there for him to get over that hump so it’s always good to see him uh just a second overtime goal but uh hopefully the criticism will kind of fall to the Wayside because it just it feels if he doesn’t score a goal in two games then Suzuki is useless you know like that’s kind of the impression I get from people um on social media which is probably not the best way to uh base all my opinions but uh I I just don’t see the value in criticizing him when when you know how much she does to this for this team again without the puck that’s the important part because there’s a lot of players that don’t play well without the puck uh Suzuki is not one of them right he plays very well so overall it was fantastic to see him score and listen Lane Hudson you know three on three will become his playground you know he’s going to have some some giveaways and and we saw we’ve been seeing it a lot more from Lane Hudson I love the fact that it hasn’t changed him whatsoever right like he you know don’t change the Beast Feed the Beast so the Beast once in a while will will you know let a few people go but the good outweighs the bad by a uh by a significant margin when it comes to um to Lane Hudson okay so Frederick mentions the vorx change for coffee oh yeah that was off the overtime right okay I thought you were talking about changing lines uh right off the beginning of the game but yeah that was one of the few times am I wrong though I might be wrong but it was one of the few times that the vorx switch worked I remember quite clearly it not working twice in a row and the hubs getting scored on but yeah if you can win the face off and get Coffield on there Best of Both Worlds that’s some good coaching the issue is it’s it’s not always a guarantee right with h with D’Or so um we also need to discuss it’s almost unfair because they had a pretty good game tonight but Jaden strubel and uh Justin Baron got victimized on on two opportunities and it really did waste a good game like they they had had the best underlying numbers pretty much of anyone and I know everyone says oh that’s easy that’s easy well if it was easy everyone could do it and right now the only one that does it consistently is Arbor Jacky so if it if it was so easy to play on the third pair ring you know a lot more guys would have fantastic numbers but the reality is third pairing guys inconsistent minutes inconsistent usage inconsistent you know pairings they their their their uh partner so it’s not as easy of a situation as many as many assume and the other part that I wanted to mention tonight is I thought Kirby do was a lot less flashy than in other games but I felt like he was actually pretty efficient and that’s really what Kirby do needs to do going forward you know they we all get up on a Thursday and want to put her fantasy pants on and go dancing but at one point you just kind of got to get things done right you gota as BTO the famous poets BTO went said you got to be taking care of business and tonight we saw him taking his shooting opportunities unfortunately he’s still aiming like right here on most goalies uh you know tonight Elvis murin had I think he went a little high on him that high dangerous scoring chance but hey that’s a good sign for Doc at the beginning of the year we were seeing him Dipsy and doodling and juking and and he was losing the puck a lot so overall um a positive step for Kirby do and his line held an advantage in shots as far as I know so the um yeah trinka mentions Arbor Jacky Arbor Jacky takes every single shot Poss possible ever since do you remember was it last year or the year before either way at one point was like why am I not getting goals from my from my power play from Arbor Jack pretty sure featuring like a few power plays for the Habs during his rookie year and he told all the guys to shoot more and Arbor Jacky has taken that to heart and I don’t know if it’s actually a skill getting shot through but he does it with more regularity than most people I mean ideally you want Jack on your third pairing but it’s it’s pretty interesting that that he’s on your second pairing right now and they’re doing quite well you know so maybe the uh reports of Jacky’s uh you know of how easily he’s replaced were were a little exaggerated because I feel like he’s done a really good job moving up in the lineup and listen he’s still getting those ticky tacky calls but I feel like he’s done actually a pretty good job with warranted calls like he’s not he’s not making as many obvious infractions that lead to penalties he’s still the referees do not like him and that you know that kind of goes with the territory but I think he’s done a better job discipline wise yeah okay and that’s another great Point feder actually I wrote this in my game report but absolutely fantastic point the third pairing when they’re at home it’s it’s happiness right because you’re facing the fourth line you know sometimes they’ll actually give you the first line to play with right just so you can kind of up your chances on the road they’re trying to exploit it that’s the like it goes from a a fairly buttery assignment in Montreal to just a deathly difficult assignment on the road so um another huge Factor when it comes to uh to third pairings and I feel like Justin Baron if he would just focus up man there’s a lot to like about Justin Baron like you know that goal that they scored and everyone was blaming Baron first of all Coffield lost his guy and that was a big part of it but he was focused for 99% of the time like he got he got so he was there and then like a squirrel that sees a nutall from a tree he saw the puck and he just fixated on it that’s where he you know he gave his space and I I have a lot of patience for Baron because he brings a significant amount of offense from the blue line but you can’t make those decisions anymore you or he just that’s rookie stuff that’s ball hockey stuff you know what I mean and even in ball hockey would we would have yelled at a guy for for doing that so it’s just it feels like one big misread SNS his value almost every game and it’s unfortunate because his numbers overall this year are actually quite good well relatively speaking his numbers have been U have been good trinka yeah trinka mentions G is a great me Mentor for Arbor getting reputation calls I um I didn’t see it at first but because I was wondering why the hell did rensky get away with like 15 slashes to uh Gallagher’s leg but Gallagher went spear hunting for his coones and all bets are off man like you you if you spear a big bigger guy in the balls you have to fight him them’s the rules you know what I mean like that’s just that’s just life rules right there and it works from here to the Galapagos Islands is just an understood rule if you shove a piece of timber in a guy’s testicles you’re going to have to fight him it’s as simple as that so I I did like the fight out of Gallagher though I actually thought he did pretty good for a smaller guy and uh even though like I don’t like the spearing I really really hate that stuff but you can’t ever take away his commitment his passion you know what I mean like he’s he’s one of the guys few guys that still gives a [ __ ] when it’s 9-0 for the other team so you’re never going to get good value from from Gallagher with that that contract actually it’s not as bad anymore but he does bring a certain element to the team that that once in a while you need that kick in the ass right and Brendan Gallagher always for always provides that kick in the ass Bernardo made a comment that I’m not not sure I it’s terrible Gallagher forgot that it’s no nut November sorry I’m really tired I apologize for that um moving on from Brendan Gallagher who always does just a man great job inspiring other guys I would say that Kaden Primo I know that that the goals weren’t great but I would say that this was actually fairly good when we consider he’s played this was his third start in November so goes will complain if they have to skip every second start he’s skipping every you know he’s only getting one out of eight right so so I just it’s very difficult for a goalie to find his Groove when you also know that they’re not going to trust you and I I know we spoke about this before but I would like the Montreal Canadians to just kind of put a close to this and maybe give Primo you know another chance somewhere else it’s never going to happen here coaching doesn’t trust him so it’s Pro you know last year was time to move on from Primo um and and again I I’m not necessarily blaming him it was the worst development in the his like Alex de’s development was better than than Kaden Pros right so I have a lot of sympathy for him in in this situation because he was kind of thrust into something that he wasn’t ready for but had to do and the reason he wasn’t ready for it was because the team didn’t give him enough opportunities to be ready for like don’t forget in the AHL kiden Primo shared his net with three goalies every year except for the last I believe so you got Zack FAL Charlie lingren uh Charlie lingren by the way go check out his goal tonight he scored the worst own goal since Steve Smith and it was um oh you lost video oh cool well that’s actually pretty good that means you oh there I am okay so the uh Charlie lingren ended up scoring it was was it worse than mab like throw it in the Nets in the Net versus the Sharks yeah probably was anyways it’s a totally routine play by Charlie lingren and um the puck was up a little bit and when he hit it with his blade he actually hit a little too far in with your goalie blade because you do have a curve on there and it went directly into his net like it wasn’t just into his net it was the worst own goal in a very very long time I M throwing the puck in was close but I’d give this like it was Steve Smith essentially I don’t know if any of you guys saw that Calgary versus Edmonton a long time ago but yeah it was a Steve Smith type on goal you know it was just absolutely brutal although I do again I’m such a softy for goalies I’m happy that Charlie lingren has found a new home in uh with Washington you know what I mean so yeah they’re mention you know what’s crazy um yeah thanks Ben and Thomas and F you should have the video now I have not power once since this summer and we’re in NDG and the little hamster that like Powers the whole area is dehydrated as hell but hey I I actively complained and I haven’t because we lost power for about five weeks one year and like that’s unreasonable one of them was a snowstorm I you know I went to go live at Andrews actually which is amazing to have a friend that’ll just take me in like that but um we’ve been good since then now in about 13 seconds we’re going to lose power cuz I angri the the power Gods um but good on you Quebec you haven’t lost power and that’s that’s a huge upgrade for NDG Steve oh yeah okay well Steve mentioned Steven sorry um lus Lusk mentions Prem will get more starts going forward yeah has anyone looked at the calendar they have the most ridiculous stream of G especially between Christmas and New Year’s Eve um they’re playing like they’re doing away away and then Christmas Eve away or sorry New Year’s Day I believe it’s three and four nights including travel and then they have to play immediately again like I it’s just some fugly stuff from the uh the schedule maker but yeah hopefully Primo will get a few more few more starts there and I love for him because I keep mentioning he doesn’t get run support this year he’s getting a little bit of run support he’s got to stop doing the Jake Allen thing and letting in the first it wasn’t his fault tonight but it’s just you got to make that save Kaden and and I have all the time in the world for the you know your story how rough it was but he’s got to make that first big save and it feels like he rarely does right so once he gets dialed in he’s pretty darn good and we saw him save the game there at the end um odd man Rush with a minute left but uh man it would be fun to see that first save it changes everything playing behind the eightball is just so much more complicated you know what I mean it was just absolutely a tough thing to do for everyone is not just motivation your energy you’re burning so much energy um yeah so even though I do like or or empathize with him or sympathize I’m not sure which one means what he has to be better to start games at least once he finds his rhythm it’ll be it’ll be all right um yeah David mentions I will also be happy uh for Primo when he finds a new home I it’s at that point right like I I for those that don’t know M promised Kaden Primo the backup job when he convinced him to leave Northeastern like that’s why Primo left early because he only played what two years at the time he was the youngest player to ever or goalie to ever sign out of the NCAA which you know it’s kind of worrisome you’re oh how come you know there’s been a lot of good goalies there well the reason is goalies take a lot more time to develop and the more you know the busier the better Primo got thrust into a situation that just he was not even close to being prepared for and his his coach at the time who’s now the athletic uh director the ad over at nor Eastern was Jim Madigan Jim Madigan like he’s just a a Hall of Famer in American Hockey and one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever spoken to and he told me at the moment I couldn’t say anything because I was casually working with the team but um he said it was going to be such a big mistake you know he’s like I can’t believe they actually convinced him to leave early like they’re just going to ruin this kid’s career that’s exactly what happened you know so so the important part here like does is doing okay in the AHL but they forced him to leave a little bit early too right he only had two years at at Ohio I would love if the Habs because there’s another pretty good goalie coming up that has about the same numbers as those two did um highly rated though you know much better overall potential but there’s no rush to get Jacob Fowler involved like even even if you trade away Primo go find a 36-year-old backup goalie that’s you know don’t even consider bringing Fowler into their professional setting you know is the way I would look at it just because I still see him sometimes he you know he’s still young but there are still some things he needs to work on despite those great numbers and Boston is a very good team like Boston College is just a Powerhouse right so he’s never really had that experience of playing without the PowerHouse team in front of him and um that won’t be the case if he makes the mun or that Val so anyways all this to say is that very rarely do good things happen when you pull a goalie early you know it’s uh I I I just don’t see the logic behind it and we even saw a I always say I always screw up his name but in Buffalo uh Devon Levi yeah Devon Levi I mean he’s he’s struggling as well right so even young goalies with a ton of potential still need a few kicks of the can and um yeah so going forward I think Primo is going to be a pretty important lesson for the Montreal Canadians to uh to keep in mind it’s just there there’s no value in rushing a goenda a history of Ken dren showed up and started winning and so did patricka but um those are the legends of yester year you know that’s not how hockey works anymore so even the best goalies will have bad nights and um the longer they have time to to kind of get used to it in the NCAA and then a couple years in the AHL the better it is so I uh I really hope the havs don’t push f to to come in any anytime soon question here from trinka anyone noticed in this game the only time I did was when doc took that shot he had a pretty good high danger he came he cut back into the slot and he kind of went around um the left Circle and R was screening he was actually doing a pretty darn good job screening but it took him a little longer to shoot so by the time doc took a shot he was out of frame but no I didn’t and um I don’t think I necessarily noticed much from him yesterday either um we do have to remember joshuaa runs hot and cold that that’s what he does right so he came back in a cold streak which is unfortunate because training camp was during a cold streak but you got to give him give him some time he’ll he’ll get up to pace and just based on the sample size from last year I wouldn’t expect them to to you know disappear so I I I would really like to see at some point in the top six but I understand the Habs don’t see me see him in the same light as I do uh but I just don’t I wouldn’t worry about actually I can go check his stats right now real quick I don’t want to lose the the feed because you lose the feed once I go to this but let me just check out what he’s doing there real quick Joshua okay yeah he’s getting outshot and out Chan he’s getting dominated yeah okay right now he has the worst underlying numbers of the team so bad couple of games for joshu but he uh he needs some time to to get into his group Groove but it’s it’s a it’s a fair point you know um I often discuss his impact but there will be games every time when H takes the ice that were it just kind of Fades away you know I mean just kind of ghosts like that Meme there so um yeah he’ll he’ll need a little bit of time yeah well okay and F uh wet here is mentioning going back to my Kaden Primo thing you know lots of sympathy for Primo is a game based on results and the results haven’t been there yes 100% like there’s there’s a big difference between me saying these are probably some factors involved and me saying it’s fine like it’s not fine he needs to do better I just understand right because he’s nervous and it’s clear the team doesn’t trust him and and if anyone’s played hockey you know the feeling when you don’t trust your goalie it just messes with your mind completely right it’s it’s you play Uber defensive which which actually leads to more shots against more chances against I’m not sure they necessarily did that tonight but I do feel like the hubs have a lot less confidence when Primo was there and yeah it’s results but it’s also everything that came before it right oh am I am I going dark again no den hey Deni how’s it going buddy happy to see you in the chat um trinka says not worried would love a little kick from him yeah that would be from from Hawai you mean a yeah give him time honestly like I know he came in and he dominated last year right off the bat he finished the season with the I believe like I’m going to Rattle some stats off they’re probably all going to be wrong but close but um High danger individual chances he with third uh production so points per 60 and assists per 60 not goals per 60 but those two he led the entire team uh he led the team in high danger scoring chances regular shot share um yeah H did like pretty much led the team in every offensive category like expected goals and actual goals because again you know talking about process and results we can this guy has 98% expected goals but at the end of the day if he’s not scoring them and he’s getting scored on I understand the process will eventually lead to good results but but that’s that’s more of a theory right like eventually you just got to make it happen so yeah in that boat where he’ll have to make something happen probably in the next game to uh to get a a little more momentum on his side I thought uh tonight other than that one shot and I’m it was a really good question because I’m trying to think about it now I literally don’t remember him once other than that and like he he like flew through the screen so anyways I’m a big joshuag guwa fan and I really think that you know he’s going to end up being a very good NHL player but uh he just he just needs to kind of focus up during every game that’s that’s always been his issue he’s been the most skilled guy in most leagues right and um in the AHL it’s not that he’s getting away from it and and it’s not like he’s taking advantage of it he’s working hard we’re just seeing it a little less often now that he’s a he’s in the NHL and it’s been two games right so we’re going to have to uh be oh there you go I’m Dark Again aren’t I I was checking the stats sorry about that my bad I’ll stop going on to a natural statc okay so we’re g to jump since I keep going dark for the whole show uh we’re going to um Bernardo mentions I left to go buy some milk no no I’m here I was just staring at n natural statc in the uh third period we’ll discuss whatever you all want to discuss um including the future oon opponents also the fact that Mike Mat was listed as one of the potential trade targets by um daily face off today like it’s it’s it’s never super accurate and the board a lot of it’s you know just kind of hyping things up but when you look at the situation right like meth at that age were and you know I defend them more than most I I really don’t like how quickly people jump on him because I mean he’s one of the few guys that’s produced good points in the back end since marov left and um he’s one of the highest producers in the power play last year this year as well so like despite all the criticism Mike Mat plays just such an important role for this Habs and he and he gobbles minutes right he’s a minute gobbler so um I don’t know where you like the Habs have so many young guys but not too many that are really ready to take that big step up I think Kaden ghouly is um even though he was put back on his right side obviously but uh I don’t know after that like Lane Hudson is doing very well with a lot of ice di I don’t see how you can cram any more ice time into Lane Hutton Lane Hudson’s game right well tonight by putting on the power play but it’s just he’s already got a lot on his plate and uh you know I just I just don’t know if he’s quite ready for that that that that first pairing life because after a few weeks it starts to grind you down right you’re facing the best guys in the NHL and and Hudson’s value obviously it’s not defending like he does defend much better than most people assume a lot of people say he’s bad defensively that’s not true the biggest issue with Hudson is that he’ll give up the [ __ ] once in a while right again it’s one bad for 10 good so it’s perfectly fine but I still really believe in the idea of not pushing rookies to their limit right off the bat and um like s has been giving him a lot of ice time which is great A lot of opportunities but uh you know if you notice Lane Hudson is a little banged up like you know taking sticks left and right he’s getting hit a decent amount um it’s tough man playing professional hockey is very very tough so if you think Mike Mat out of there I don’t know it just feels like there’s going to be a lot of ice time for a lot of guys that don’t necessarily uh present a body work that’s ready for that right so um yeah okay and trinka that’s a great Point uh Mike maon wants to be here well year per 60 is quite High you know from the time I was just a a little little little toad as my parents called me I like I always heard about these guys that well first of all Jagger’s been doing it for 50 years straight but you know every year it was oh this guy wants to come to Montreal this guy wants to come to Montreal before he signs with Philly this guy wants to come to Montreal before he signs with Colorado this guy wants to come to Montreal before he signs with 18 other teams Y Mar yagger so it’s not like mathis’s a superstar but having a guy so a local guy that wants to be here and above average like that’s that’s pretty great for the montal canins and I know a lot of people will just roll their eyes but um as a frankophone I think it’s very important to have you know local people here that also speak French and Mike Mat is is one of them so there there’s a he brings a lot to the table and as I I forget who mentioned it but someone mentioned that uh oh David that he’s working as a mentor for Lane Hudson absolutely you know those those those sarcastic tweets online where people like oh give Hudson the first Power Play he’d have to go to mat and and kind of get the the lowdown right before being permanently put in that position like regardless mat is a wealth of knowledge um I just I wish he was a little bit better at the Blue Line carrying you know just handling that if you could combine Ma’s Flatout speed and um his shot which was I believe it was the hardest shot last year at the uh the hubs uh allstar game uh with with Hudson’s just agility and ability to walk the line you’d have a very very good defenseman that gives away the puck a lot but still does great things uh on the ice H Den mentions you’re fine with math assis sticking around yeah me too but at the same time I know I went on that whole rant like if you can get uh like a good first rounder which doesn’t happen does it unless another team gave it to him but if you can get ahead healthy hall for Mike Mat you have to consider it you have to because he’s at that age where like he’s that Cliff there you know you don’t know like Thelma and Louise like he might be going off or he might be riding up for a little bit but eventually he will fly off that Canyon into uh you know into into brutal uselessness right at one point so you have to and I don’t mean to to dog on Josh Anderson but kind of the same situation right everyone saw it coming they said hey might be a good time to move him and the didn’t move him and sometimes you know worrying too much about risk is is the riskiest thing so like the Habs worried that Anderson would suddenly find his game okay that’s great but you’re you’re you’re kind of overlooking the whole making your team better aspect of it just for the fact that it might turn out sour for you down the road when there’s a healthy odds that it won’t right so you have to be brutal in business but at the same time you yeah you all brought up some good points because especially the Montreal thing like when’s the last time the had a good player from Montreal I I honestly can’t like from Montreal proper there I can’t remember I really can’t remember I’m sure there’s some well the other part is that monal actually produces very few hockey players for our size so but hey we’re not going to get into uh how Quebec uh hockey is run because we all know that’s a a bit of a fluster cluck so yes trink conventions is this the year remarkable trading defenseman instead of goalies yes absolutely and I would have actually wouldn’t have touched the two guys they already moved but when you look at it kovich by the way he’s doing great with New Jersey I will always fight for Jonathan kovich not only does he look like this cool dude that will probably offer you like pot brownies at the camping you know just when everyone’s chilling he’s just surprisingly efficient for the amount of money he makes he like with Jersey he’s leading them in every single statistical category he’s upward of 60% possession upward of 65% High danger chances so good for Jonathan kovich you know he’s one of those guys that really he pounded the pavement a little bit everywhere and he’s you know because of some injuries he gets that opportunity and uh and I love it now the other slide slide side of the coin is Jordan Harris that I would have kept them again but um he’s not having a great time with Columbus I don’t know if it’s just not I haven’t had time to look into it but he kind of lost this you know it’s really tough for those guys when you’re not drafted by the team and you’re you’re kind of on the outside looking in to to get that chance and um consistency has been an issue uh even more so than than in Mont in his usage I mean like he skipped a couple games in monreal but it wasn’t half the season so the change in address for Jordan Harris has not gone all that well unfortunately and um he’s young though he’s so smart that’s the thing he’s probably the smartest guy on the ice at all time so I I won’t count him out but it’s just I always like to see people succeed when they move on especially when they get traded right like there’s no control in that so Jordan Harris is one of the best people you’ll ever meet and one of the smartest not just on the ice but off the ice as well so that’s why I have a bit of a soft spot for him bernardo’s asking why do I hate Josh Anderson again I love it um I tonight the one thing that he’s gonna have to stop doing is when he’s pressuring up high right when he’s okay whenever someone sets up control five on five Josh Anderson and I kind of love this but he’s looking for the takeaway and the Breakaway if you watch when rinsky burned him that it was 100% And I get it Josh like that’s how he made his bread and butter his entire life but he it’s just not something that’s going to happen too too often when you’re facing Zack rinsky right he’s fast he’s skilled he’s got great Puck handling so overall I actually think Anderson’s done more than fine this year relative to what we expect and uh great work on the penalty kill I’m not going to throw many flowers cuz like just you know offering something is is better than offering nothing but um I’d like to see him him be a little more tentative when he’s defending in the um you know especially up high every single Winger wants that you poke the puck out and you go on that break away it’s almost similar to what slavkovsky did tonight before he set up Coffield except for it took two players but uh yeah just to hold back a little bit other than that Hey listen what he’s at he’s at four or five goals he had eight goals last year so he’s scoring at twice the pace that he did last year cuz that was what um eight goals in uh 80 games so now four goals in 20 yeah so he’s scoring he’s scoring much more than he was last year uh we have a trade here offer ma for l no absolutely not you know it’s it’s it’s funny because I look at those contracts a lot of them and what Kent Hughes got for a lot of people wasn’t great like it’s hard to criticize Lan man he’s done so much he’s gone through a lot but I will say this Kent Hughes he I’m pretty sure he was with cortex I might be completely wrong here but if you go around the league and you look at the contracts like Darnell nurse’s contracts Kent hu has got a lot of money for his clients like a lot of money and it’s kind of funny because now it’s you know it’s hurting them on the back end um yeah so we’re gonna actually yeah David has a good point here and we’ve been going on for a little bit I think Hey listen we had fun the Habs had fun your ice lovi bounced back Kaden Primo got a win um his first s since um the first world war so that was uh very interesting and we saw Mari make some adjustments so we didn’t discuss him tonight but Mari hesitates often to make adjustments like he collects timeouts as if they’re you know he can trade them in at the end of the year but um he did much better in my opinion and even though I don’t necessarily agree with the the lines he put in doesn’t matter because I’m not the coach it’s an adjustment and we’re seeing him make those a little more frequently so that’s that’s great news like m is still learning as well if we um and Thomas mentions we can’t criticize MSL for giving Hudson Too much exposure if we’re going to criticize him for Sheltering SLA in his yeah fair enough absolutely fair enough it’s um I think the difference being that even though Hudson’s still a rookie he was very much a product that was ready to play in the NHL whereas I will go to my Graves saying this keeping Sosi in the NHL that first year was it was terrible it was a dumb way to develop a player that you knew wasn’t ready to play in the NHL that being said there’s still plenty of time to you know for him to get on the right track he’s young that’s the other part he’s 20 years old with three years experience but one and a half of those years were pretty bad right so I know a lot of people took Victory laps when he scored his 20th goal last year I think this is a good REM reminder that again not everything’s linear and that um it it’s very possible that they hurt his development by keep by you know keeping him in the NHL at the same time so many people would have criticized him they would have gotten skewed if they sent him through to the AHL kind of like um did actually Logan [ __ ] didn’t I might go black here one second I’m going to go check Logan Coy did one more year right in uh College that’s it either way we’re seeing a guy um okay yeah so he went straight from the University of Minnesota okay well that was a terrible point I can actually make that point that I was going to try to make but uh tonight we saw sovi who who really when you see him play like that that bank pass the Coffield was beautiful the uh shot right shot but that’s when you realize like man this guy has all the tools once he gets the confidence going and goals will help there will be so much good to look forward to because again this year he he he really improved on a lot of his his fastests it’s just the goals it’s just the goals that was holding him back like he he shoots less than a a drunk toddler in a slingshot fight but if he can get that going like there’s going to be good things happening for for uray S kovski and we saw him tonight back with Suzuki and Cofield for both this points right so that was um that was encouraging as well okay don’t forget to like And subscribe and all that fun stuff and we will actually we’re not seeing you I was going to say we’ll see you tomorrow we’ll see you at the next game um that I absolutely can’t remember who they’re playing and that’s how much I pay attention that’s good tonight was a fantastic game with a lot of uh uh of encouraging aspects and hopefully the Montreal canans will be able to build on that thank you everybody for participating in the chat we always have our fantastic FC uh chat members Right Here Andrew keeps putting my face up on these thumbnails and I guarantee this is how we’re losing viewers because my face on these thumb like look look at that look at that big face there oh terrible um and before we go and this is a really good one as well because Thomas threw in a really good fact that kind of derails my hole keeping him down the AHL Shane Wright like he’s going to be just the most vanilla like middle lineup guy um but I think the real issue there was just you don’t anoint a guy at 14 if he’s not that Sydney Crosby or that Conor McDavid right like his whole life Shane Wright was told man you’re going to be number one with a bullet number one with a bullet he got all the interviews he got all the attention and then it kind of fell apart at the end and and I understand why he was like bitter and staring at the Habs there but I just don’t think Shane Wright was ever that good to begin with that’s that’s the big issue I think you really ran off hype heading into the draft because you watched him play and you’re like well these are plays that will work absolutely in the CHL a lot of plays will work in the CHL it’s just you didn’t you know he was using his overall Talent Advantage which he no longer has and uh playing Prime minutes which he no longer has so Thomas that was a very good point you mentioning Shen right there and it’s I will absolutely accept that it’s a fantastic Counterpoint to uh my little y slavkovsky uh rant from earlier and again we won’t be able to tell for just so long right like that’s the other part so believe it or not gilfa was criticized for his first three years now now I believe he had like 60 points his first year but everyone was looking at Marcel Zion which the Habs had a chance to to draft because don’t forget s poock did that crazy move with uh uh I was goingon to say Seattle but Oakland and got the first round pick which was gonna be gilf or Marcel and uh yeah gilf the highest scoring have was criticized for three years right because he wasn’t given enough so it’s always man there’s going to be so many more chapters to this story that uh like I’m not too too I know a lot of people are bringing up your ice goin’s contract next year and I get it like that’s going to be a lot of cheddar for a guy that’s kind of on Pace for eight goals or whatever um but he has so much runway like so much darn Runway and again the counter not just Thomas’s counter but the fact that he has those that experience which again some of it was bad but he can still build on that right so as long as the confidence is fine owski should be fine and tonight was a fantastic example of him making Fant uh plays in full confidence he’s a completely different player when he has it on right so if if if that consist he comes man y lovsky will be just an absolutely fantastic hockey player um yeah as Bernardo mentions we’re going to close it out now what I’m saying is that yor sovi is GF that’s it he’ll end up having an arena in turo named after him that’s what that’s what that’s what your lovsky is going not but believe it or not yovi is still for a third year in a row the youngest guy in the Montreal canan’s lineup it’s a little crazy when you think about it right so The Best Is Yet To Come hopefully in his case as long as he shoots your I shoot his mom sent him a text last year thinking to shoot I would blow up that I’d put it print it and put it right above his locker room shoot shoot shoot that’s all he needs to do you know it’s a little tougher when he’s playing in front of the net as the body but yeah as long as he actually shoots he you’re lovi will be in a pretty good situation cuz you know again just looking at the goals is really doing him a disservice and it’s kind of lazy I’ll be honest so many aspects of his game got better I was surprised that he got kind of treated with the Kirby duck um punishment if you will because he’s like it wasn’t even they’re not even close to being in the same boat you know what I mean slavkovsky at the point at that time was third in team scoring before he got kind of demoted now he’s falling off a little bit but Kirby doc was never at that level so it’s really despite his lack of goals I will say this is a pretty good season for owski and you all know that I’ve been pretty critical of his play not necessarily his play but just the way the Habs handled the entire you know ovsky thing after years and years of years of saying oh you got to be patient you got to be station and then they came out from the draft they’re like oh it’s a project it’s a project and the project got put into full use right off the bat I might be wrong it might end up being really good but what we do know now is that Ur sovi has a little momentum and that’s um it’s really important really important for a 20-year-old player uh his second goal of the year what took 20 games let’s see how you know it wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up scoring a few more now that he’s kind of writing that uh well hot stick two points is still better than no points which has been the issue for Yosi all right meron I genuinely appreciate all the support you’re all amazing I’m kind of pissed that Claire left early but you know whatever and I’m happy to see Dan in here uh always always always fun to see him and and just all the regulars feder trink you you all know who you are Bernardo keeps me on my toes about not liking Josh Anderson every time and but it really means a lot to us and if you could like And subscribe and tell all your friends that would be appreciated too and next time I stream I will promise not to get distracted by natural statc and leave my screen blank um because this is the money maker after all right we will see you the next time uh game over which is I believe Saturday or Thursday either way we will see you the next time the monreal Canadians win H play and hey they’ll be aiming for two wins in a row woo Little Steps baby steps and rebuild salut
