with that sure man okay so uh Brad Underwood also gonna do a quick turnaround they had a game on Saturday now they have a game on Monday I don’t know if you know this cart Monday is two days after Saturday so this is a game where Illinois has less time to prepare than normal they just played on Saturday now they’re playing on Monday in the interim span of Saturday to Monday Ed kolie has taken unprovoked shots at Brad Underwood uh and I don’t think anything else has happened I think it’s been so quick that that’s really all that has happened here so what are we gonna get what what do we expect from Illinois in a quick turnaround two-day prep Little Rock game okay now I’m just now it’s actually hitting me so they went Satur because they they play Arkansas on Thanksgiving yeah and you just felt like sprinkling Little Rock on on Monday this is all part of the same event Little Rock just played Arkansas on Friday oh and now Little Rock plays Illinois and then Maryland Eastern Shore is the other team who played Illinois and then plays Arkansas and then plays Little Rock okay well I hate this I hate this event there there’s my first takeaway hate the event don’t like the schedule of it um but no it’s um it’s a it’s a scary proposition given the fact that this Little Rock team is like kind of in the middle of what Illinois has done this whole season right Illinois is playing bam 10 team on kmom or they’re playing teams in the 200s in the 300s Little Rock’s like a little sneaky spunky 175 kenpom team that is it fair to say they hung around with uh Arkansas for a little bit Yeah well no because they were down 13 points almost immediately Arkansas was up 39- 17 before half but uh it ended up only being a 12-point game Little Rock had a big run in the early half yeah yeah so like a little little fun little little spurt there um but no obviously it’s a dangerous spot given the look ahead for sure with Arkansas on Thursday and Coach Cal and Underwood like the whole every there’s a lot of a lot of hype surrounding that basketball game especially with Illinois fans so um I think that’s the scariest proposition early reaction to that is the placement of this game and the fact that I wouldn’t put Little Rock in the category of just complete pushover yeah no Little Rock is a top 200 team on kmom they’re currently 175th in the country uh now they have lost all three games they’ve played against top 200 opponents and not exactly in competitive fashion so my interpretation just from schedule watching here Little Rock may be a little overrated at 175th nationally I uh was debating betting Illinois including them my daily picks for this game I ended up staying away just cuz I feel like the short turnaround is is such a wild one you don’t really know what’s going to happen here they could be looking at Arkansas a little bit but Little Rock got blown out by Winthrop they got blown out by Arkansas State they got well not blowouts maybe hard against Arkansas but they were getting blown out by Arkansas before cutting it close uh their wins are against UTSA Tulsa and Arkansas Baptist they basically have beaten the cupcakes and lost to anybody with a pulse by a size sizable margin so when I see like Hey Little Rock lost by 17 to UTSA that makes me think Illinois should win by 40 the problem is I I think Illinois has been known to win by 15 when they could win by 40 a couple times this season and that that’s it’s all Illinois Centric like what are they going to be in this game I don’t know right and you have you know the small sample size of Illinois when they were in a look ahead spot they had a sleepy game against Oakland yeah so like I don’t this game is very dependent on on Illinois like it’s very Illinois Centric right like I’m obviously there’s things you want to look for that Little Rock does but this is one where it’s you’re really looking at Illinois to handle business if they show up they they win this game easily yeah 100% uh looking at the Little Rock roster they got two big-time scorers moani Wilkinson and Jonathan Lawson are for them LSU transfer huh I haven’t heard that name in a minute yeah LSU transfer and uh I mean Jonathan is Jonathan Lawson the Lawson I’m thinking of the Memphis transfer right okay dog some when is when are Lawson goingon to stop playing college basketball I don’t know but what I do know is that Little Rock’s best two players are pedigree guys former top 100 recruits that played at a high major level and have now ended up at Little Rock so is it fair to say tell me if I’m exaggerating or or I’m off base here I think that both moani Wilkinson and Jonathan Lawson would start for real inois not not together but if if I’m if you just dropped them one by one individually on the Illinois roster to me like without hesitation they would start over Trey white Yeah well yeah yeah yeah these guys are true Wing small forward types more F okay but make that let’s let’s flip that the actual starting lineup’s in and we’ll r starting do either of these guys start or will riy will riy is better than both of these players but will Riley’s not starting for reasons that if these guys were on Illinois he would not start over them for yeah Jonathan Lawson’s having a crazy year I didn’t realize that they’re both having so wi 167 and four 44 from the field 41 from three and Wilkinson’s at 17 and six so like they they got two dudes and then they support those two dudes with a a bunch of good role players couple other guys that are both in double figures as well so um the formula here if you’re looking profile wise um couple reasons that I do believe Illinois should win sizeably here uh number one Little Rock’s offense is almost entirely dependent on the three-point shot they make 37% which is really good they don’t really do anything else well they don’t shoot free throws well they don’t really get to the line they turn it over a lot and they’re not good from two-point range so basically when they’ve been good it’s because they’ve been bombing threes Illinois very good three-point defense 27th best three-point percentage defense and they limit attempts so I would expect the Little Rock struggles to get going from three in this game uh and then on the other side Illinois has one of the biggest mismatches in terms of offensive rebounding you’ll see this year like Little Rock cannot rebound at all they’re 342nd in the country um Illinois’s 19th best offensive rebounding team in the country so to me like as long as Illinois puts their head down and is motivated on the glass this should be like a 20 offensive rebound night yeah if they want to do the crashy CL crashy crashy glass glass thing that they like to do this be the one yeah should work tonight they had 19 offensive rebounds against Maryland Eastern Shore I think 19 would be on the low end for what they could do in this game in my opinion so guess we’ll see uh I guess I don’t know what to do with that
