let’s go Mets what’s up Mets fans welcome back to talking Mets Rob how is everybody doing we got some one stto news to talk about finally we are getting a little bit closer to hopefully an end point when it comes to Juan sto and where he’s going to play for probably more than 10 years and we got all the information right here on the video today and the fight for stto begins this week as multiple reports are saying that teams will be sending offers to Scott Boris and Juan SoDo this week and listen guys the off season especially the big names will not come off the board until Juan SoDo makes a decision and with Scott Bor is having so many clients he doesn’t want to make the mistake that he did last year where extending every player he basically represented and get him to wait until the possible last minute to sign his players and it cost his players a ton of money and I think with Juan stto the youngest free agent in a long time and having him sign early before the winter meetings gives his other clients Top Dog status basically saying go after these guys send the offers let’s get it done I think a lot of things are gonna happen prior to the winter meetings and Juan sto is going to sign by the winter meetings and as of today the reports are that offers will be flying in to Scott Boris and Juan stto from the teams that are interested and there is a bunch of teams we know about the Red Sox meeting we know about the the Toronto Blue Jays meeting the Yankees meeting the Mets meeting the Dodgers meeting somewhat Phillies talking to Scott Boris about Juan stto and I think the Giants are G to be one of those secret teams those mystery teams that might be in on juano but I think the East Coast teams the teams that are the favorite to land Juan soda I don’t think he’s going to go anywhere towards the West at all even though he might use some of the West Coast teams to jack up the price a little bit but Juan sto is gonna end up on the east coast and this week could be a lot of news coming in about offers and as of right now who is the favorite to land Juan stto according to many reports according to Executives around the league Juan sto is leaning towards New York Mets why are the Mets the New York why are the Mets the favorite because Steve Cohen can’t get out bid it’s gonna be I think a situation where Steve Cohen’s gonna have the biggest offer the Mets are gonna have the biggest offer and it’s going to come down to wano’s decision does he want to be a New York Met take the biggest offer or I don’t think he’s taking less to go elsewhere other than the Yankees but I don’t see that happen did not become a free agent he did not decline offers from Washington a couple of years ago before he got traded to take less of a deal to end up with the New York Yankees and he’s definitely not going to take less to go to the Red Sox or the Blue Jays or somewhere else and we all know the Mets have the most money because of the owner and is that an end all Bal absolutely not but we what we do know is that Scott Boris had a terrible off season last year lost a lot of money for his clients he’s not gonna make that same mistake again Juan sule has been trained for this moment the unions are watch him very closely the union wasn’t happy with Aaron judge taking less money to go back to the Yankees when he had bigger offers on the table now a lot of people understood why because Aaron judge iszy Yankee came up through the system made sense he was going to be named the captain Juan sto played one season with the New York Yankees there was no emotional connection to this team except playing for one year he’s played more with the Padres and the Nationals than he did the Yankees now do I think the Yankees are gonna come up with a big offer absolutely but I think every time there’s an offer from another team Scott Boris and Juan stto are gonna go back to the Mets for a counter offer so the Mets are never going to get out bid so the favor right now is absolutely the New York Mets now do I believe the Mets are going to Sano yes I’ve said that for more than six months now but is it a guarantee absolutely not because a lot of things can happen between that time but is Juan stto going to choose the Mets while the Mets had a season that a lot of people didn’t expect the culture has changed completely within this organization within a year go back to 2023 what was the problem with the New York Mets it was the culture right it was the chemistry it was the clubhouse problems Within the organization as well and within one year that all changed and players were talking about it throughout the league players that are probably not going to be Mets anymore and had interviews has talked about the Mets chemistry when it comes to the team the organization the owner the GM a lot has changed within one year so the culture is there for the New York Mets now they got to game six of the NLCS did the Yankees get to the World Series absolutely but I I have this feeling that Juan stto knows that if the Yankees signed Juan sto they’re not doing anything else because they would be right at that top luxury tax threshold if they sign Juan sto to around a 50 million plus deal per year so that’s an issue within itself the Mets can spend hundred million dollars and not even get to the third tax threshold yet so the Mets will add after Juan sto that’s a big deal especially with the questions that Juan sto has X every team in his meetings with them what are you gonna do if you sign me after the fact are you gonna go out there and spend more are you gonna get better players are you gonna improve the team that’s what swan SoDo is asking the Mets have a great opportunity to do that and then you wonder is it just money I think 100 % is just a money the biggest offer will get Juan sto how much will it be I don’t know I’m gonna think it’s going to be over 600 million I think it’s gonna be closer to 700 than 600 and I don’t think anybody’s gonna reach that Mark except for the New York Mets now I do think Toronto could be a Darkhorse here but they would have to out bit Everybody by a large margin to get him go to Canada and to go to Toronto the Red Sox I think have a good chance but they’re not going to outbid the New York Mets I think the Yankees are probably third in this race for Juan stto does that mean he won’t go to the Yankees who knows but I have a good feeling that the Mets and Steve Cohen has planned for this year in particular they talked about it this was the year of Juan stle this was where the Mets were going to spend big I don’t think Steve Cohen is going to be out bid and I think he’s going to land the big free agent on the market in wano once again guys if you enjoy this video hit on that
