I don’t understand how like did they just automatically get it because they won was their tiebreaker I don’t know I didn’t pay attention uh Alabama’s been really good good results lately they are building quite a resume after uh slow start to the season where they couldn’t make shots three straight wins against Illinois Houston and Ruckers is about as impressive of a three-game stretch as anybody in the country could have Oregon’s also having their own quiet impressive stretch though uh again shaky start to the year but they’re seven and0 right now one at Oregon State by three in a tossup game B Texas A&M be San Diego State this week on a neutral so both teams have certainly earned the right to be here in the inaugural players era Festival special and uh C they’ve had a couple days off leading into this one it’s been Thanksgiving weekend in Vegas should we just start going up and down the players in this game and decide who will be the most hung over yeah uh in that Advantage Oregon in that case I must say I know this Bama team had themselves just a wee wee bit of the night to win which one do you think is like most likely to Trey Galloway himself to a black jack table oh there’s a couple op honestly Grant Nelson I’m gonna say I feel like I grant in like a snapback hat and like a fake mustache at like four in the morning at a blackjack table a fake a fake like Grant Nelson would have a fake mustache even though he has a real mustache and he’s not even at a blackjack table he’s at a penny slot just with it on Auto Spin My hottest hypothetical take on Vegas festivities for this game is that I bet you Aiden Holloway Le Baron philon and Jackson Shell stad have been hanging out together yeah yeah like they they went to go see a show and then had a night could even be great we can have that combo but is Oregon good like they are undefeated their record says they’re very good should be a big 10 favorite ah Kemp pom has him 24th right now like are you buying that this team is really good even though they’ve kind of avoided disaster a couple times so the reason why I’m buying this team being good uh and this is also a shout out to you G I feel like you you you know people love to talk about what you get wrong and I think there’s a a take from Oregon that you don’t get enough credit for uh TJ bomba has been really good um I’ve been a big advocate of TJ boma’s just a Serial like losing basketball player like good stats now it’s kind of starting to tilt towards like it’s going good for Oregon right and Oregon’s like making plays and boma’s been really good in this tournament um and he’s kind of been carrying it carrying the team in my opinion for like what Jackson Shel said has lacked early in this year and I think that’s kind of where I feel myself like I’m feeling good about Oregon because I feel like they haven’t got the Jackson Shell stad that they should be getting yet they’re seven and0 and they had a good win over San Diego State and they had a really good win over Texas A&M uh in a game where I thought Texas A&M would win but um I’m very impressed with this Oregon team this could be a statement game for them too like if we want to do the whole like who’s this game matter to more respectfully it matters to Oregon more than it matters to B I agree um I think I am buying the Ducks but it’s like hourly I’m like incrementally getting there like I there hasn’t been a moment where I’m like yes I’m in but I’m like the more I sit on this it’s like why why am I skeptical I don’t know I think it’s because you hit on this I think it’s because I wanted shell stad to be like a 20 aame Superstar and he’s just not but that doesn’t mean he’s not good I actually have a crazy shell stad number that I adore about him this year his turnover rate is 5% that’s top 100 in the country he has the ball constantly CED he played 36 minutes against San Diego State 34 minutes against Texas A&M those are two very physical defenses he had one turnover in 70 minutes like car he has four turnovers on the season he’s Oregon he’s Oregon’s do everything guy um and along the way six assists six assists five assist four assist four assists three assists one assist so like I’m it’s it’s baffling like he’s not the scorer we wanted him to be he’s every bit like an elite floor General and I think the scoring will come cuz he’s only shooting 25% from three but if he just gets that up to like mid-30s we’re looking at one of the best guards in the country and as you mentioned TJ bomba has uh been everything they need until shell stead starts to be more efficient it’s crazy yeah also Greg you remember Nathan bidd Nate Biddle yeah I that you just hit on why I can’t get there with Oran yeah the mullet with the balding up top is crazy um also I never realiz this I love a good ESPN head shot like he looks like Theo vongh yeah he looks like I’m gonna i’mna Reserve commentary actually okay but that guy who you were about to absolutely disrespect is averaging 14 and 10 yeah no Nate looks he looks like someone I know in my personal life that’s why I stopped um shout out to my third cousin anyway uh they he has been really good he’s also Nate bidd see maybe that’s why I can’t get there with Oregon yeah you know what actually to respect to Oregon Ducks fans I’mma help y’all out right now I’m not gonna buy in because the minute I buy in this goes south and B by 27 so Biddle in all seriousness I know we’re disrespecting him immensely I apologize we make jokes it’s humorous mean his Barber his Barber is disrespecting him more bidd was a first team you you think he has a barber Nate bidd Nate bid was a McDonald’s All-American who is in his fourth year in college that’s a very valuable thing to have that also means he never should have been a McDonald’s allamerican but like somebody that was that much of a pedigree recruit staying in college this long you would expect like by this point he’s going to be a great college player so I do think there’s there’s a world where that happens there’s a world where Nate bdle ends up a first team all big 10 player this year as crazy as that sounds he’s been an elite rebounder he’s been in double figures in six of their seven games um to me though cart the scary part about bidd is all his biggest games came against Oregon State and Montana and Troy and Portland and UC Riverside what’s he done in this tournament he had 11 and N against San Diego State in 26 minutes that’s not bad at all he had six and six against Texas A&M I don’t know that he’s going to hold up against Great front courts and I think Alabama has an elite front Court not just a great front Court do they have an elite front Court I think so yeah because the the versatility they may not have one Elite player but they can throw Cliff at you who’s like the strongest dunker spot guy in the sport they can go Grant Nelson at the five if they need to jiren Stevenson is a guy that exists um so yeah yeah I’m monitoring uh uh Bama front Court talk to me on that it’s you it’s good it should be the best front Court in the country I don’t know when I watch it I get best front Court in the country Vibes there’s games that Cliff gets bench there’s games that tkr takes them to the Woodshed like I don’t know it’s you know what it is they don’t really have much like Rim protection when they should have Rim protection like yeah you know what it is it’s a cliff problem is that what it is Cliff’s been awful yeah okay maybe that’s what it is Grant Nelson’s been better and he’s starting to play good but like Cliff’s been awful that’s the whole story here he has five straight games in single figure scoring uh he I mean six and four four and three six and six seven and seven four and seven those are his last five games yeah that’s that’s just not that’s not good enough and it’s been fou he has uh he’s had four fouls in three of those five games and he’s only played 20 minutes in one of them so I don’t know it’s hard to figure out um but I mean it just saying it out loud like Nate bidd versus Cliff am morier I expect Cliff to have a good game you know yeah I I think I’d agree with that um I want another thing I was I was trying to get some numbers on on this what is what’s Oregon like forcing teams to turn the ball over uh let me pull that up real quick let’s see here Oregon defense turn over okay they’re not that no yeah they’re not really like a pressy defense I feel like yeah I mean I’m just the last game we have a Bama samples that they turn the ball over 20 times against Ruckers that was just pel D though I don’t think bam was that bad at turnovers but I don’t think I don’t think I don’t think this or or that Ruckers team is that good defensively it’s not but it’s still Pele with a schi okay okay all right I’m just I’m I’m trying to square that off I mean Oregon will win the turnover battle mostly because Bama doesn’t Force any turnovers and Dana Alman offenses are pretty good um can I give you a pro Oregon take that’s a little crazy of course you can I think Dana Alman is the current college basketball John beline oh yeah okay but beine was making runs you want to hear me elaborate on this a little bit a little bit yeah okay so I have immense respect for Dane Alman he’s old and he’s Still rocking right um he spent a bazillion years at kraton now he’s spent a bazillion years at Oregon and he had a really special run 13 through 17 at Oregon where they won a game in the tournament every single year sweet 16 32 32 Elite 8 final four that’s a five-year stretch of Dana Alman incredible right since then it’s been very iffy but since then three of the next eight years he’s made made at least one NCA tournament win in he’s had three appearances every time they get to the tournament they win a game in the tournament so two sweet 16s since that five-year run too like he’s had some runs but they’ve just been spotty he’s currently on a down swing they’ve only made the tournament once in the last four years that’s not great especially when you’re coming from the Pack 12 I’ve talked about how when you get to the Big 10 sometimes if you’re a good coach early people don’t know how to prep for you because they haven’t seen you before I think all man could get a bump from that this year while like the other new coaches don’t because they’re just not as good schematically as him I’m impressed with Alman and just like what he does the comp to beine though that I was trying to make beine made a final four then he had like seven iffy years where like there were some good teams here and there and then he missed the tournament a couple times it was gross and then all a sudden he was back in the title game I think that’s going to happen before Altman’s done here and I’m I’m not saying the title game for sure but I think he’s going to make it deep NCA tournament run in a year where like we just don’t necessarily see it coming like be Li’s second one was I think he’s had good of a coach and honestly I think it could be this year’s team given shell stad and bomba as the back court like they got dudes I don’t hate that take and he’s gonna leave in the middle of the night to coach the Portland Trail Blazers oh good God I can’t believe beon did that still to this day rat uh do you you want to get to predictions or do you have anything on B I feel like we’ve glossed over like we spent so much time talking about shell stad and bomba being incredible are we not going to talk about the best B Court in college basketball who Mark Sears and learon Fon the learon Fon that was basically did his best Mark seers impression two games ago and had zero and Aiden Holloway and Latrell Rell I mean every single game one of these four can like why why can’t I get I should I should love this Bama team why can’t I get there because you’re spooked by the Purdue loss and Mackey it’s not even that it’s just like I mean it is that they beat is Houston that great Houston’s very good Houston’s very good but then I watched Houston and I’m like this team is nasty offensively like nasty in a bad way Houston’s very good okay I’m monitoring okay so give me a trust level gauge you trust Oregon 1 to 10 I trust Oregon to be themselves like a nine on a scale of one to 10 and what’s your bam trust level like a six but that’s that’s because you came into the season thinking B was the best team you ranked them number yeah yeah so that’s I think there’s a gulf in your expectations versus just being a good team okay I I mean listen I use the non-conference to find out a lot about myself too you know like I I need to I need to get to certain places um there’s going to be some things that I’m not going to like about myself flying around if Oregon wins this basketball game I’ll tell you that well it’s like it’s like you taking the trash out this morning it’s snowing in Michigan for the first time all year and uh you took the trash out this morning and you were few minutes late to get on this recording because uh in your own words I slipped and then I asked like what happened do we have a slip did was would you call that a fall and you were like well I mean butt hit ground say what you want but like yeah yeah you know the the thing with Alabama is they’re slipping a little they just got to make sure they don’t fall got it so like they’re slipping tumbling sorry I mean you did it oh all right Mark 47 Bama wins the first ever players era yeah I when I step back broadly and think about it by the way awesome that we get like two nil teams in the players era final we get like the Bama team that’s doing this after wins and then we get the Oregon team that like is just offering everybody money to come to a Nike School uh I I think Alabama’s the right Champion for this event I I agree uh I’m not going to overthink it either I think bamas even with m concerned B’s the better basketball team okay that’s bold of VI uh kenpom has Alabama by three 84 to 81 I assume if you’re going to take Alabama you think they cover too yeah I’m gonna go Bama 92 Oregon 81 I want to believe in Oregon and I think I will believe in Oregon in Big 10 Play I Will predict that a Wheels falloff blowout loss happens here and uh it’s kind of a wakeup call for people talking about Oregon at the
