privileged to introduce you to and welcome you to the 70th anniversary celebration event here at caram Cafe in New York we are in the middle of today we started the um actually no it was yesterday we started the uh the open event and we qualified 21 semi-finals players that are now playing in round robin format which we just started today and from from here we will eliminate all the players and go down to the last eight where we’ll have a single single elimination knockout to 40 points but today we’re going to we’re going to watch this third round match which is should be a very exciting match between Alexander Salazar who in just two rounds ago ran a 21 his personal High run and also the high run of the event so far he’s going to be playing uh his country man who is uh also from Colombia uh Uber katano I’m joined here with my good friend and co-host Robert Rayford hello Robert hold on one second got turn on your microphone okay hello Robert no more headsets all right so uh yeah we’re sitting in our in our uh video Booth here so uh we won’t bother the players we’re watching the the the last few shots of urban a katan’s um practice I always like to watch the practice too in addition to the match just to see what they’re working on to try to get a read on the table besides just warming up they’ve been playing all day so it’s not really getting in stroke but learning this particular table’s idiosyncrasies they’re all pretty well matched but the level of position they demand of themselves to maintain these averages you know they’ve got to really dial it in yeah there’s sometimes uh table changes it changes its conditions even in the middle of the the game yeah as those balls collect chalk get a little more friction there with the rails and it does evolve as the game goes on although some of these high average players there aren’t a whole lot of innings for that to happen yeah they don’t want to expend valuable Innings during the game trying to learn how the table is behaving they’re trying to collect all the information they can now before they start the game so they won’t have any guft work all right well I think he’s nearing the end of his practice I want to able to see it okay in the lag now these two players are the are the top two of the top players in their country very controlled breaks I really like how he he opened the game up almost textbook yeah that red you’d like it to be a little farther to the right but he’ll be able to manage there’s just a little kiss here if he drives it make sure to miss the yellow with the red you might play it on the left side of the the red SP long that’s true it’s the beginning of the game and these are new cloths so thank you for reminding me that’s the natural shot here yeah that’s that’s a nice start does he have the short angle off the yellow let’s see no looks a little thin so a little thin might be kissy so uh you might you might might have to stun this on the red it’s a little tricky I thought for a second he was going to follow through the yellow but the yellow goes right into the red there he may be drawing short short long no looks like he’s you think he can fed this thin it and go just three rails without kissing it trying to figure out what he’s doing he is doing the force follow I guess he can get the yellow out of there and not hit the red with it that would be a beautiful shot yeah that’s a nice shot now now the English on this last rail oh I guess you got might be hard to do both but oh very close shot take a look at this tremendous follow yeah the thing is you got to hit it Fuller but then it gets closer to the red but if he’s going forward it probably would have missed the kiss yeah okay it would have been a really nice shot was a good effort yeah and a great idea to solve the problem and it didn’t hurt he didn’t leave much for Salazar you see do you think he can play it long long short it’s tough to avoid the kiss between the red and the and the the white right I’m still thinking about long long short I got to decode the language so I think he can is he going off with the white I’m trying to figure out what he’s doing oh wow what a shot this is an idea does he have enough English he does wow what a great solution instead of wow this is a very very nice solution very nice shot he hits it full and it really opened it up for him while we watch that shot unfold let’s take a look at him Contin his shot here he Nails a pretty fairly open shot and he continues and watch this is that white going to come out enough for a short angle or does he have to pull it back up the red looks like he’s got enough room let’s take a look at this on the oh he’s going to go around the table here let’s take a look get that white out of a kiss no problem no problem at all as we mentioned before he’s probably feeling real good about his game right now because he just made his personal lifelong High run yeah so out 21 which is just a rounding run that most people will never can can only hope to ever achieve a run of over 20 in three cushion vard is just something Lefty how about that a lot of billiard players are very comfortable switching hands you rarely see the bridge come out well it’s very important um um right now for players to is he trying to draw back to the right long run oh no okay this is much better long long long very nice shot in Ira language referring to the long cushion long cushion long cushion well does he what do you see from here oh yeah it’s a little easier now it’s a little hard to see that our angle ah he’s found a little bit of a a sh little Gap here nice very very nice shot he doesn’t take much time here no he’s got he’s got a great Rhythm I don’t think you can I don’t think you can run 20 by grinding and using point you know expending too many calories on every single shot you have to let it flow for f he looks like he was using left English to the red not sure well he’s Frozen on the rails it’s so hard to get the good but is he using reverse off the top cushion oh no he just aims that way and then changes it well I don’t know he was trying to short long short I could see him aiming with left English but then he moved the tip and maybe that’s how he thinks about managing the flection well the thing is if he goes to the short rail off the yellow then here’s the danger of banking the yellow into the red but if you hit it full enough that you miss the red it’s going to be coming sort of the way your Q ball is going towards the red after the fourth row full to avoid the early kiss and he almost he gets a a very late kiss so he P he avoided a kiss between the yellow and the red so he hit it a little Fuller but then he created a kiss yeah on the far side of the table after many rails it’s very hard predict what’s going to happen after so many rails from both balls there is a window there to miss that kiss and a player of his level experience actually well familiar with those kisses but sometimes he just has to take a chance yeah it’s a calculated risk but it’s the best option and he tried to play a long long long stroke and hits it a little too full well this could cost him um this could I don’t know I kind of like to Ticky off the red I but he off the left it’s possible if the table was still sliding like crazy maybe but I think ball first first ball and fairly full so that or he plays the inside of the ball if he plays too full he might double Bank the red up there he Feathering the red he did t play the Ticky five uh-oh here’s a kiss that’s hard here’s a kiss that’s hard just a lot of kisses there oh my gosh just at the speed with this these tables are a little slow at the speed you need to shoot it to get around the table conting that hoping for ack shortens it up no luck lot of traffic a lot of traffic but no point and now Alexander you really want to pop that red up a little bit don’t just FEA more in the corner just misses it the deeper that red ball goes in the corner the smaller it is yeah especially to try to finesse it I wonder now if he babies this it’ll just keep the red in the corner he might speed it up a little bit like that to try to pop it out a little bit and it keeps the yellow out of the bad area in the top middle rail yeah well that’s good you don’t want the balls all crowded together in the corner and then you can’t wow Q balls wed in there now though yeah the Cub traded places with the red but I think he you may have a what do you think I no I I think we’re both thinking the same thing which is he’s going to hit the red ball and then go three rails around the table three or five rails drive that red out of the corner the thing is if the red could end up in the bottom cushion here in no man’s land if he’s not careful so he made sure to hit it really full does he have the backup yes he does great the cable’s still sliding enough so that with a little extra speed you can seal up the holes no it’s hard to tell here can he whip out of that corner in the top left of our screen let’s see it’s hard to tell but you’re talking about playing it long short long fast into the corner right right you get deep in there you can make it he’s maybe looking at it you can also draw it off the other side of the yellow and snake it but that’s also pretty adventurous let’s take a look at it from here yeah I he does can he get to the red ball he can see the red so he’s going to try to drop it in maybe and that’s a beautiful shot he held it up a little bit right he could not only see the red he could see the side you needed to make that shot I could tell that that was a beautiful shot take a look at how he puts a little bit of hold up here a little bit of right English creates that angle and now it’s got no English perfect to capture this shot there beautiful great camera work and now that he’s opened up the position he could make a take a little lead here yeah so let’s see if you can make another good position out of this ball to the corner uhoh he oh I think he’s still good you can play it long long long or maybe even go to the short rail but then that’s a small red ball yeah I think long long long or what I called a cross table not great either he’s you think he might be looking at the red no he’s going to do long long long long long long [Applause] two shot this way really smart shot I like that speed and well if the yellow goes too far down he can’t play off of it so now oh we got a nice replay here let’s see that cross table again judges the follow so that after the second rail keeps hooking forward then he goes into this big Zone where you can either hit it off the long rail or the short rail or directly whatever and it just makes it a big Target Beautiful shot by [Applause] tan well he had to play it that speed to get the two-way shot part now here yeah you’d really like to bring the red up off of that bad area that’s a great very nice great shot don’t worry about trying to go four rails there oh he he he apologized I think oh he apologized was he playing uh I think maybe he was trying yeah but still that was a a quality stroke notice he took a pretty straight line he wasn’t he didn’t hook the ball try to make it more predictable so um you know regardless if he didn’t play it exactly that way I think it was a really nice control that’s a run he’s on a run of six taking a lead taking the lead and starting right away at a at a two average clip I think it’s a just a run of three I thought it was 5 five when he started but maybe it was no it’s it’s it’s he’s on a run of six and look at this spin oh right it was 55 when he got the short angle and I thought he might put a r okay all right a little late well we’re going to keep seeing these this is not difficult positions when that Ball’s stuck to the middle of the short rail I think you can for follow this and get really tight in the corner there that’s what he’s trying to do I mean it’s not that there aren’t solutions from there but you really like it to be somewhere else he almost gets [Applause] lucky he had a lot of spin on that he actually overdid it unfortunately oh here we go on the replay it’s a good angle he has a he has a tight Top Spin on there and he gets into that corner a little bit too too late I think was playing it off the long Rail and SP yeah four rails I nice effort by [Music] Salazar short angle bks the yellow into the opposite corner yeah a little thinner than half ball so the Q ball can come off the third rail but keep the yellow over on that side big as a basketball he can play this three four rails feather this ball yeah probably going to go short long long to the yeah like that nice backup on these tables very nice shot now can he play uh if he cuts the red away from the yellow uh oh you’re that’s what he’s looking at he’s looking at trying to hit the third rail where he just pointed a fourth rail where right where he pointed he’s going to play the short yeah I think he doesn’t want the red causing traffic problems up there so I think you have to cut it away inad keeping it parallel unless he really knows how the timing go but they cut that right away from the rail and catch the fourth rail right where he pointed watch out no problem with any kiss and there you go perfect finished everything perfectly so first had a six now he’s on a run of three do you know what um katan’s High run is our fan not for the event just his personal run I don’t know katan’s personal High run but I do know that he ran a 14 in the qualification rounds of this tournament so uh he’s capable of some big numbers I’m sure T is not his his a personal High he’s trying to manage the kiss here because it’s easy to drive the yellow one or two rails into the red he was wondering if he could Elevate to draw off of it yeah that that shot makes me nervous cuz it looks like he might have a big hole there as well but he can’t really go off the red easily he wants to try to find the yellow ball shot I think he can two rail the yellow out of there maybe as to play he’s going to do a follow shot and go a short long short long wow what a shot that’s a great shot yeah great shot solution to a tough problem there and he banked he banked that uh the red ball I sorry banked the yellow ball precisely to avoid hitting the red right yep and he brought it out into the middle of the table so now he’s open it up keep the Run going and avoiding the kisses and avoiding hole so he solved all the problems he had about four or five different things that could have gone wrong and he made them all go right and and he got a good position so he’s rewarded that’s definitely on on a run of four now he’s looking at this shot again he was looking off the red a second ago I think he is going to go for the five cushion yeah I think it lays good off the just make sure sure the red isn’t there at the end so he cut it away instead of driving it although he’s going to like his leave now yeah so good shot oh boy it looks good he’s keeping control of the balls red is Frozen on the cushion but he’s playing really precisely so I I think it’s almost an ideal position if he’s if he cuts this and plays it four rails then he’ll he’ll have the yellow ball where he’s standing now right and he’ll come up behind the red bump it off the cushion short angle and it could be the beginning was of a very very very special run he’s on he had a six now it’s going to be another six for sure I would I would I wouldn’t bet against him for making this may yeah there go very control speed is it long enough good it might be short might be short uhoh it might be short wow well unexpected Miss but he was really controlling the yellow there yeah he was getting greedy which is important if you’re going to make high runs greedy for scoring points caught up with him but take a look at this this particular time it was the speed that really got him yeah and it didn’t have English on this last rail in the meantime Alexander salar Way a second wait a minute has the same exact problem he misses it exactly the same way all right yeah that Bread’s Frozen it’s not a big Target there no nothing easy about this shot and because it’s not a big Target uh well the yellow’s farther down than it looks like in person but on the screen it looks like he can go off of it if he wants to but I don’t know I think I might play off the red here I think too I think he’s going to look at playing this off the red cuz if anything slicing he slices the yellow first I’d be super surprised he might stun off the yellow and spin there he goes off the yellow off the right side of the yellow oh no he’s on the inside curious oh he back it out what an ingenious shot oh and he almost makes it wow I we want to see that replay you know what when you can’t get long enough cuz you were talking about slicing it it just play the way it naturally wants to go which is short and you can play patterns like that a little bit of Defense too so’s pacing the balls oh good beautiful shot beautiful shot by Alex Andre allar so is he going to spin out of that top left corner of reverse English I know you can hit the red thin enough to one rail oh no he’s trying to shorten it whip it short this might actually help him oh no he missed it um he used a lot of speed here I think he took to make this whip around but he didn’t whip around short enough yeah the way to really get it short is you can have follow still taking off that third cushion to bend it short and then it curves there closer to the corner yeah I think he wanted to be a couple of inches shorter he could have played a little thinner ball he could have kept the qall speed up thought it was a good effort yeah very good now any kisses here Rob uh you drive the yellow five rails and then you go uh just three or four to the red he didn’t want to oh he did finally get the corner it looked like he might not catch the short rail control look at the look at the leaves yep that’s he doesn’t want this Frozen on the rail I think he’s far enough away so he can cut it away yeah here I guess might double Bank the yellow and then you’re hoping to get a good contact on the red so you need to cut this yellow away from the rail and then follow follow with English to to capture the red just like that you can send it to this SP uh let’s see on the TV it is the bottom left corner but you risk a diagonal position if you don’t catch the red right like this but he’s happy to make sure he gets the point here it’s important to score you can do all the planning you want but if it doesn’t get a ball and you’re sunk you got to remember the first three rules of position play yeah make the point make the point make the point make the point make the point mightbe also be the fourth Ru this is tricky um actually what I play here sometimes I don’t know twice around I don’t know why is he he’s got the stroke but he’s elevated so you’d make the Q ball jump at the speed that goes twice around it’s a thin hit to try to go short long short to the red is he looking at making some kind of crazy stroke shot he’s so far ahead and he’s really hitting the ball accurately I’d play cross table off the red here I don’t even know what he’s looking at that’s how confused I am I don’t see anything no I think he’s trying to go one rail to the yellow and then to the bottom cushion and up to the red he’s playing this as a bank shot oh no he all the time he’s playing an umbrella yeah okay look at this this look at this guys he’s going to hit two rails clip the yellow one more Rail and then get to the red I want to see this is one of the most difficult shot forms the speed will be important here let’s see if he can do that just misses it now he doesn’t mind that these balls are kind of in a diagonal either it’s coming back up for an easy natural I don’t think he mines now this is a relatively straightforward shot I think but you can imagine if the white stayed closer to that bottom right corner these things are all built into the shots if you I liked how he hit that it was not maximum English he came out of the third rail with a a very normal roll so that’s something that he’s still got the yellow in the middle of the short rail it’s not always an ideal location I don’t think he’s this won’t be a problem but there is a hole there we’ll have to decide if he goes three or four he decides to go four is it too long he actually went too long he stretched it to catch the fourth Rail and then he overdid it yeah the limits are different when the clots really new one thing I notice when I play if I see an extreme I double check myself because I say you know what it’s impossible to overdo the shot and every single time right I overdo even what I thought was the maximum but um yeah there’s so much you can manipulate well I don’t see him missing this and he’s up eight points they’re still going to 35 so there’s a lot of Billiards left in the match wow we got the commentator’s curse there I actually thought he was going to hit Fuller and Bank the red in the middle of the table instead he he actually sliced the red and Tred to shorten it up with with uh with his with his speed which was really interesting to me now if it was me I would have aimed one and hit the other but with him I assume he was really trying to use that hit to make it well I have no idea what Alexander do here maybe looking at a double rail here it almost seems like that’s is double the rail and clip the white into the red that’s what he’s I think so I don’t know if the shot is available if he hits the red with the English you have them to double the rail if it’s is you think this is a two-way shot from here or is it only makeable from me it all depends on how he hits it oh he almost made that he almost made that all he had he just needed to be 2 mm over and he would have had the right side of the ball y so it was a it was a good try yeah I like the shot there was really no other angle to bank at you found the right the biggest way now what he looking at well it looks more compressed when you look at the table but here it looks like he has more room but I think he can go for cushions and not knock the red into the yellow looks like if he wants to hit the red below the yellow one rail he could keep it there you’re talking about a having avoid the kiss between the right there’s a kiss here that he needs to watch out for like that he put the red but I don’t know that the Q ball made it back is it long and enough is it short enough I mean chest misses it and now it gives a very makeable shot for alexand now he has he has I don’t think he can go short he might have to go sliding up long left long Rail and then oh no he’s going to try to feather this and make it short four rails yep time the kiss good knock the red off a little bit maybe yeah kept it on the cushion but I think it’ll be fine [Music] so you can drive that white ball around bunch of rails he going off the left side yeah he is smart shot very smart shot and wonderfully executed delicate shot he hit it very nicely now I think he might be able to hit this ball very very thin on the outside to keep the white from getting in the way of the Q ball heading towards the red fine hit yeah wow what a touch could have very easily hit too much ball there but that was a beautiful touch well I think we’re seeing 21 came yeah I think that 21 came from this mind he knows what he’s doing looks like he has to go off the red here can’t quite make a good hit on the unless he wants to go to the short rail with inside English I’m willing to bet that uh Alexander salar started playing when he’s very young he has a little bit of that sidearm that you see oh from not quite being tall enough to start the oh look at how he did this he’s passes the kiss very nice and he drove he drove the opall away from the kiss and then so he had to hit real full and he just corrected kiss very nicely he distorted the shot to avoid the kisses and he spun in to make the point it’s a run of four and he needs to make up the Gap because tan is really uh pulling ahead yep now he’s got to go the short rail here CU you think he’s going to come in short how is he going to keep the no he’s definitely going short long short wait what he’s that beautifully very nice some defense built into that one but definitely very high scoring minded I didn’t see his run of 21 take look at this uh really nice touch to make this with Slow Roll But I imagine he had to make at least a couple of those keep it going cuz a lot of times these are run injuries you’re not careful you know what I think you might be able to do is just play this as uh oh what’s he doing he going actually play it off the white he doesn’t see anything off the red he’s he’s reing this he’s he’s also yeah there we go yeah he went back to his original plan going off white short long long and I think he’s going to try to catch the short rail again short long long short oh no short short directly oh gets kissed out right at the last moment I thought he was going to drive that ball out of the kiss area to hit one more rail behind the ball but you know hit it thinner and then try to capture before so what’s uh Kat looking at from here and it was tough to make that hit at the distance it may be but just that little bit of uh just a little too full ruined it short angle here by Kat really not much else this is the best choice just don’t put the yellow in that middle of the short rail if you can help it or if you do put it there drive it through it so that it gets out of there oh beautiful shot good speed optimal speed options off of both balls you maximize his options now would you play this off the left side of the red or off the off the yellow Well you certainly avoid any kiss problems off the the red but a lot of people prefer the yellow ball here so he’s going to have to maybe pop this yellow and drive the yellow behind the red oh he sliced it very interesting very interesting and he has his QQ ball beat make the point and beat the object ball having any chance of kissing it away one of the problems off the red is if you come in too full you can sort of play yourself safe by knocking the other ball down table and then it’s maybe harder to keep the Run going looks like he’s got five cushions here yes he’s playing this off the red five cushions into the yellow got to keep the red out of the shot here probably it almost looks like the yellow’s in the way for the five push I know I think he he’s found a line looks like he’s found a line might be just passing the yellow very closely right but you can you can secure missing the Kiss by cutting the red fin and making up the angle with draw a little bit and not putting maximum English long long with the red he doesn’t like it yeah he stood up a few times now already it’s really nice where the yellow is for that shot but something wrong this now what does he do oh he’s still just going back to it feels like he can do it long long here yellow on the way hard pushing he does do that passes all the problems is it is it is it short enough very good little body English helps there we go and scores beautiful shot go long long quite with the red that he got it very deep he barely passes the kiss with the yellow that’s what he was really concerned with passes This Kiss here here just by a couple of inches and succeeds in not making this too short too long to get right there and he did them all yeah he did a lot of things good there and he’s rewarded because he does have a u a natural off the red just barely makes this point another five pushing here yep well he feels good about his round the table five pushing shots here he’ll like his leave again [Applause] and very nice I really like how he’s controlling the the ball here I agree although right here he may have to turn it loose a little bit on a run on a run of four it looks like he’s trying to go to the short cushion or is he trying to I think he likes to really spin these shots so I don’t think he see baby but maybe he will oh he did go for precision but he overdid it uh-oh uh-oh uh-oh just a little bit too much English that’s a run of four and the score is 19 to 12 in 10 Innings it was more comfortable to take a more direct angle in the short Rail and load the ball up but then you don’t keep control of it necessarily those small amounts of spin can be deceiving so Alexander well this is oh taking a break it’s a little bit of safety too something for for to think about um yeah this is a critical point in the match very critical Salazar could catch up here or katano could get even farther away making it tough yeah katano started out with a six five and a four and uh Alexander with two fives in this in this game so far so even though the score it looks like he’s got a big gap here it’s actually very close yeah seven points for these guys is nothing especially if you’re going to run 21 once in a while I think I think Alexander think’s in the car he’s going to have a very positive outlook if he’s like you know yeah get ahead of me I’ll run a 21 on you no I mean that’s a very special run but still knowing that you’ve done it means that you can come back from almost anything confidently if you just get the right uh thing started yeah I’m going to use this opportunity while they’re taking their break5 yeah let’s thank predator for sponsoring this tournament and with reverse four pushes he looks kissy to me I guess he has go oh he’s playing a three very very touchy shot but delicate delicate oh on the monitor it’s look more comfortable looking at the table everything’s so compressed but he returned there what do you see from here Rob well I think we’re going to see a cross table a similar pattern but with right spin this time you can keep the white parallel to the cushion and if you come up and hit the red you’ll probably have a nice shot afterwards you can go three or four cushions but right there is the middle and that’s a big hole tough to control but he also leaves a little bit of Defense here he picked a speed to just leave katano far away although looks like the bank shot is available yeah he hits three rails and he’s looking at where he needs to hit the third rail just clip the red that’s what he’s doing there can be a bit of variation in the angle off that first cushion depending on your speed so I’m sure he will play what he’s practiced to try to maintain consistency he’ll also I think chooses speed so if he makes it naturally he should have another another shot so let’s see what how he plays this he hit that a little faster than I expected came out sharp he was a little disgusted expected more of a curve there to keep in check well it’s uh it’s not late in the game but the table must be shortening up a little bit more than he thought maybe he was expecting one more slide off the first row he seemed surprised by how it came off the first rail is he going to try to drop it in on the red ball off the white let’s take a look at this if he’s a defensive minded but he both of these guys he’s going reverse English is that what he’s doing or is he just going to move his tip he’s doing what you were saying he’s confusing me with his um wow that’s a beautiful touch that was a great shot it’s safety it’s position it’s everything and scoring so he’s Off to the Races now he’s Off to the Races now he can play this off the red just make sure he doesn’t cut the red into the white and hit it pretty full he’ll probably play five rails yeah I think so going need to try to knock it into the corner you want to keep them open oh you know what he’s giving up on that he’s just going to play this off the off the off the white with a little bit of up said English and then swipes across it’s a little confusing that’s a great shot that’s a great shot but he’s obviously got a really nice touch except for the fact that he got stuck behind the ball well that’s billions for you yeah but you know what be able to long he going to M here yep he’s going M this going to think about it at least I’d love to see that but that looks really hard to it almost looks easier to go up the left side of the red yeah and reverse it reverse I agree run it long long short that’s what he’s doing there we go it was just a little tough just feed this ball into a natural did you make it oh yeah beautiful wow what a touch what a beautiful good game here very close I love this solution delicate touch on this ball yeah that’s a good angle I like that see he’s got that sidearm stroke that none of us can figure out because he’s been playing probably since he was like two years old right and now look at this tons of English judged it perfectly this is by no means an easy shot but he stroked it beautifully y the momentum is starting to shift the moment of is Shifting he missed a couple of innings went out to regroup and now look starting to to find points and finding positions finding ways to score lots of points maybe he’s getting his feeling back for that 21 I’m rooting for it Heck if he runs 21 now the game is over oh right I forgot yeah we got 16 left and there’s one of them and he’s certainly playing playing a lot of control and a lot of a lot of position play here from what I see what do you think he’s going to do from here well I think he can go off the right side of the white um probably going to have to cut it to the left but you can still miss the kiss you can cut it over to the left side of the table oh he’s going short long short off the red he going avoid the kiss that’s a fuller hit and I guess he uses reverse oh I see how he hit it oh he played a match there oh threw it quite a bit of ball though to avoid any problems that’s a beautiful finally broke his five spell and he’s running six ran a couple of fives before now he’s got a six wonder why we were both blind to that pattern it looked so natural when he shot it guess it was before Kum yeah he he hit a lot of ball and went through it um but he’s got a really smooth stroke so he’s grabbing his extension looks like he’s going to reach this and try to thin the red and play it as a drop in shot short long short just wants to got to avoid a hole there yeah but there are briging from the ball okay now see if he finds the line it’s pretty good to me it’s really good wow what a nice shot a beautiful a beautiful shot from 1919 so easy to go in this hole here but he he makes sure he doesn’t and he gets just the fourth rail to make the ball really big beautiful stroke make sure the Red’s out of the way avoids the kiss does he avoid the kiss he gets a little kiss but he still makes it all right a little bit of a roll everybody deserves it he made a good hit to do that he did you got to hit it good and and he he knew about that kiss trying to avoid it there’s so much you can do you’re human right well you’re almost human he’s running 21 he’s not that human human status changes over 20 when you run 20 you’re not really human anymore you’re starting to become like a super god of Billiards I’ll tell you what he’s on a run of eight I think he’s starting to feel this uh I think he’s starting to really feel the another 20 coming nine and wide open certainly comfortable running big runs which is important hey if you’re comfortable running double digit runs all the time hey I want to be in your corner look at this this 10 is almost definite just got to make sure he doesn’t get a here comes the white around and he know he knows how to avoid this hole there it is beautiful now here is a little tricky the white ball Lo that a little bit far in the middle of the table you might be able to clip the red in play Four what do you think I think he can do it pretty thin hit to do that and still get short enough Oh you mean off the left side ofed left side he might be able just past the white going in starting to shoot with a lot of confidence I’ll tell you what he makes this the table is going to be still very open smooth is it too long yeah that’s what I was saying it’s hard to keep it short on there that send him a hit okay requ that’s a run of 10 and that gives him a lead finally he’s ahead all that work couple of fives and a 10 2219 how you do it every 10 helps so he’s got a five cushion off the yellow although he just has to manage there’s some traffic involved you may see him go off the left side but I think he’s going to the right side I’m sure he’s got uh he’s it’s a very nice hit he’s a l I think he’s good hit the red yes yes it is but knocked it down here he may see him turn around is he right-handed yeah maybe play off the red here short long short I think I think he has a big stroke he may shock this off the right side of the yellow that’s true spun it was a little below the ball and and he’s he’s thinking about it he might like your shot better he can finess it but lot of pressure on him to make that but I’ll tell you what he’s probably a little bit defense too but if he goes for this he can either make it and get a position or he can definitely leave a tough shot is he just going off the left side short long line super thin yeah super thin out of the distance oh boy he hit a pretty good uh you know the ball’s curving you’re you’re 10 ft away yeah that’s why I thought he might go short you can play it a little bit Fuller and still keep the yellow down there if you’re thinking defensively and it might be next to the long rail in case you make it I think he might go for a six rail bank shot here the short Rail and that’s definitely possible uh oh no he he’s looking at something off just going to just going to try to is he going just cross table and cross table he’s wait what’s he do yes wow what a control what a beautiful control beautiful shot wow completely flat ball crossing the table there that was touch that was a touch he’s rewarding he deserves it after that nice hit yeah got a shot there’s a little hole down there but I doubt you will find it looks like he may go it’s always hard to tell he can go short short long and see have no hole right let’s take a look at the angle I think he can play short short long he there is short short long there but I think he’s going to want to go to the short Rail and spin around the table let’s see what line he finds to the ball beautiful no hole when you play it that way no you just hope you don’t get a diagonal here he just got away with it but the red he got away with it except for the fact that the red glued itself to the to the corner and now we might we might there’s a lot of slide left on this table so if he goes short long long sort of plus two style here he’s got to watch that he doesn’t drift to the bottom r with a microscopic red ball now yeah this is an important angle right there it’s too easy to do that part right oh you know the red ball might be stuck there for a little while now unless somebody nobody’s going to want to be the nobody’s going want to touch it because nobody wants to open up the table what do you think his best option is to score here well there’s a few options but most of them involved trying to hit the hole where the yellow is he looks like he’s playing a five you’ve got a five rail to the hole and car him down to the red you got a one you got a two oh you know what I think he’s going to hit with a little speed cuz if he hits into the red he wants to have some chances to scoring you know he can even double kiss it or come up back right but I think he I think he can go in the yellow ball uh Gap you’re right that’s what he’s going for too deep huh too deep yeah plus I think it was a little too slow for that shot cuz if you hit the yellow pull you’re not guaranteed to trickle down to the red you want to make sure you keep the speed up in my humble opinion well whatever he’s doing they’re not touching the red wait a second maybe I spoke too soon maybe he sees something off the red well here you can rail first off the red oh I’m sorry he’s the yellow ball he’s going to he’s going to try to double the rail and uhoh it’s not getting back not coming back not enough well looks like katano will get another chance at a bank shot so how many innings are we going now without touching the red ball so I don’t know plus two short on the red and then uh by plus two do you mean I’m sorry short long long yes plus two pattern but then you have hit the red ball right because well but I think it’s forgiving if you catch uh the top rail to the red that’s correct you’re thinking the double the rail maybe oh look at this he’s he’s looking at the Double the rail but it’s also one way it’s a one way only because the gap’s too big can’t hit the yellow and have any chance of scoring but he’s going to go he is the rail but I mean you got to play to the red B he might be just hitting the short long no English shot oh and just count on catching the Rail between the red and the yellow oh wow that’s a beautiful shot beautiful oh no he didn’t get the third rail too easy the half ball carum there send you to the ball a little unlucky to get a double kiss there huh he hit that so well I I don’t know if he got the double kiss before it killed the shot I don’t think uh I think he was headed to the yellow ball directly anyway so what do you do here well he’s the yellow ball so he’s going to try something similar except that this is a two shot he’s going to hit short long white oh no he’s going to double the ra this is a two-way shot because he could hit either ball the Gap and close beautiful shot beautiful shot very nice very nicely played and he could have he could have hit either either ball while we watch this shot going to take a look at just going for around the table she seems to be in a good line a little uncharacteristic miss the way he’s been playing on that naturally he just played he made that beautiful double the rail he’s within 10 points to win this game expected opport two for Kat now the question is I think he’s got a draw off the left side of the yellow but any kisses here it’s not easy you got to go long long with the yellow to avoid the kiss that’s why he’s going to make up the angle with draw so he’s going thin and go he can go long long and then to the short Rail and try to get it out of that bad area with some speed but otherwise he’s just trying to make this with missing the kiss stun into the long Rail and pass all the kisses wow he tried stun more than draw and he got really close to the kiss even with long lung I want to see that one again because there was a lot of Kiss problems that he avoided here yeah but he could have avoided I think by a bigger margin if he chose to draw it thinner instead of stunning well you can’t complain about this result look at this he actually speeds up ahead of that ball circles it his Q ball goes first that’s an amazing amazing shot beautiful shot this is still a very close G and if he this a little full he can bring the yellow short long short over to the left side long long long right I’m sure he’s going to make the cross table but do you see how oh no he hit it full God he was characteristic Miss but I think the reason he was trying to hit it full is because you can bring the you can bring the yellow to the other side of the table well whatever it was he mishit it and he’s left Alexander something I think he may have to force through the yellow or the white for a natural oh he can go short short uh long long short here long long short I think that’s what he’s going to do with a little bit of left English yeah and he should like to leave whatever happens here beautiful shot good looks good May oh he’s going to say he almost got it to where he could play off the red ball here but now I think he’s oh I I think for sure he’s going to play off the red ball here red ball and go four cushions right but what I meant was it almost came out enough to go five cushions but he’s going to draw the white or I’m wrong because he’s not even looking at it right but well it didn’t come out far enough I was just saying that it almost came out far enough for that what a stroke too much English though but I agree I I think uh I might have tried off the left side of that red ball or the way he hit that he was defending definitely an important part of the shot right cuz if he had got him for the red ball and tried to hit the smaller ball he would have sold out if he didn’t make it both players are within finishing distance now with a good position that’s right Alexander’s within nine and and katan’s only five points behind so he’s not going to even give him any air this is another one of those where the gap between the yellow and the rail is a good place to aim bang shots well you know what he missed a similar bank shot before and uh that’s true see he’s going to the short cushion here but sometimes it’s easier to go one cush with this that Gap when you’re so close to the short rail it’s hard to make a natural that sometimes you can just go one round and you’ll still get the three There It Is Well not if you hit it that perfect that’s perfect I think he deserves to have another gut shot here and he does you try to hit this thin and go behind it or we just just go directly three rails into it I think I go three rails into it um you can sort of hit short long with the red and keep it out of the Q balls path he’s jacked up and he has he might he might not be able to stun this you know he might have to follow he’s looking at the the three ra natural he’s looking at the the the line he probably wants to play it a little faster but I think has to elevate if he’s going to try to get a straight line to the first but I think he’s going to be forced to sort of send it a little slower delicate shot here he did go faster which is what he want to do to keep a better line perfect ab he lost the red ball very nice shot though look at that beautiful stroke ball see there he did one rail on top of the yellow whereas if he had played a More Level queue he’d have to put it on the other side hits 100% of the ball very nice well he they’re so close to each other now is he able to hit the yellow thin enough to go around the table five RS I think he can hit short long long let’s see if that’s what he chooses to do one of those one of those sang Le shots that everybody knows as sang Le shots to judge that reverse English and slide off the third rail is just like a he was so good at these oh there’s another hanger he didn’t quite get there did he a little bit of slide here just this is wow very close wow that was a good try but and a little defensive but if he really wanted to make that he would have had a beautiful position but that’s a run of two bringing him within three what’s he doing uh I thought he might have been trying to go to the short s and kind of Hit the short rail a few times or maybe you hit the long rail first and then the short rail right with reverse English uh you actually don’t want to hit the um short rail too many times if you are trying to go long short with reverse and then kind of into a cross table P for sure he changed his mind look where he is look aiming yeah now he’s going three rail bank shot but not directly he’ll have to hit the long rail on the right I think to score which means his speed’s got to be up a little bit higher he’s got to hit the red p there you go off side but is it too oh the reverse got him oh he hit the red too cold he was trying to hit the red thin and catch the shot well it’s a good try I mean look he he just needed to he hit the side of the ball he wanted it just a little this there’s a little too much reverse left on the ball here he went just a little slower great effort really good try missed it by millimeter notice he’s not playing off the yellow here he’s really trying to find a shot off the red but I think he’s going to be stuck playing off the yellow ball Oh you mean katano yeah right they in this position you know I think if he hits if he starts off the red he’s looking at he’s he’s looking at your shot but if he even if he play up the red he could hit it fast and and then you know go to attack the yellow and then come back yeah there’s kisses to worry about and the yellow’s not in a great position so here this is better he can sort of put the yellow in the bottom right corner is he oh he missed the hit missed the hit Salazar has another chance but not a good one this is tough I think you can see the top of the uh the white ball left side and can drop it in to the red try to keep I think you’re right I think that’s what exactly what he’s going to do he can get a tough position but he he’s got to just go for it this is his best shot I think it’s so interesting it almost looked like he was putting left English on that right SES evidently hitting no English it’s really interesting how his queuing is now what well this is the problem with that shot is that it’s easy to sort of get in trouble here luckily though quite came up high enough that he has this five rail shot more notice he didn’t B you that last shot yeah look what he did look what he did he’s going to like this no no no getting too tight he made a microscopic red again wow twice in one game well if he feathers this and he can hopefully blast the red out but I don’t think you know even if hits the red it’s just going to stay there well he’s still going to ramp the speed up a little bit like he did try to get a chance to get it out of there and St stay there he has another chance maybe he can cross table and slam a long long long and blast it out down now let’s see here you want to hit the yell the white a little full maybe he has the stretch he doesn’t like it you know what he could do he could double kiss this back that white as big as a basketball I’m I’m that something exciting oh he’s getting real first he’s going to do something smart I was I was talking about wow and beautiful what a beautiful shot that was a you know good decisions keep the Run going good thing he didn’t take my stupid suggestion of double kissing it back that would have just been a a disaster what he did was a beautiful touch and uh and uh and he’s and he’s on run of four wow did he play it like this watch out pouched it very thin but you know what that is at a very important four at this time because now he’s in the home stretch practically 7 points ahead pan needs to take no chances and needs to put together a run right now it’s a lot of pressure I’m sure both being from Colombia they played each other many times many times uh you seem to be pretty friendly with each other although they were not friendly enough to become team teammates because they were on opposing teams that’s true yeah I think he’s got to go four cushions here to be short R yes watch out red ball and he took a negative angle is that going to work just long enough it is load him down he going to get there though slow is he yes he is beautiful this is tricky though yeah while he goes slowly in here to score let’s take a look at he’s got a little uh he can get through the Gap can we see an overhead we might see the Gap a little yeah I just want to see look how barely makes it nice but yeah here’s a line two rails two rails it looks like or does he have to go to the short rail first if he can H the long rail first then he can go two rails into the yellow and run run down the rail yeah he’s he must be able to get to it oh first he went ball first but this is not going to work is he trying to double the rail there yeah looks like the T we got a little table roll on that table tried to catch a little bit more of that ball yeah I don’t know I think I like just going to the cushion first I think he wanted a little bit more English now what you see anything uh how much of the long rail can you see not much you may have to go what is it it is possible if you can oh I’m sorry I keep looking at the light ball he’s the yellow ball oh he’s long long long long long long long beautiful shot by Salazar and did he get rewarded he might be able to he’s got a good stroke he might stretch this th stretch this long rails six rails yeah lot of ball [Music] although he caught it a little full right it too short he knows it’s too it’s not going to get there it’s going to slide a little bit Yeah but it doesn’t have the speed oh my gosh just almost makes it all right this is an opening for T you can just Nick the red go up table that might be his best option yeah I think he’s got a good shot off the right side of the red there and it’s not ridiculously pin or anything he can hit a decent amount of ball yeah and if he goes all the way to the corner there’s no kiss red ball will cross and he’ll come down he doing what wait no he’s he’s doing something else he’s drawing into a cross T wow really all right oh tried to short angle wow must have been really confident in that pattern at this point in the game but look what he left them well they are in a bit of a line here but very makeable he’s going to go short long short pretty sure there’s a hole there but he’s got to go for it maybe he’s going to draw into the short angle yeah he he loves this the going to stun this to the left and just beautiful shot beautiful shot nice touch very nice touch hit the ball like that now he’s playing for three the yellow ball so looks like he’s in B um he can get to the short angle but I think he’s going to the short long short sort of like what it looked like he might do the previous shot proba play speed run away from the white B oh he put interesting interesting very interesting I thought he would use left English right so did I must have felt good on it wonder why he went that way but we will not be able to find out I’m not going to second guess him if he feels the shot he’s going to go for it yep clearly that was the better choice for him didn’t quite get with the long R short I think oh he’s going to drop it in yes looks good look very good beautiful shot beautiful shot now there is no tomorrow he has to come back now tar can go out the next inning going to go for the short angle on The Thin Red Ball let take a look I don’t know it looks a little too thin but the short long short isn’t quite on because it’s yellow ball isn’t uh these guys playing this uh short angle off the yellow super spin second ra oh I think it spins out too much but he may do uh think he’s really was wanting to shoot that short angle off the red pin but it’s not quite there he’s going to go to the short cushion off the yellow it’s not ideal the question is is he going to do what Salazar did and use outside English as he going to try to go inside and hold it if he’s going inside English full not maximum though if he’s going with inside little too much English well not as speed anyway if he hit it hard enough to make it maybe it would have gone a little bit to the he played it with a very nice safy speed yeah well said now is the time to defend but when you leave them too close together you leave Bank Shot opportunities that’s true I think that’s what he did look how close he came to making this I think he just hit a little harder he would have had it I think he’s looking at the six rail bank shot yeah harder means from the short The Slow Mo you it would hit the rail a little more to the left and be be online looks like the six rail bank shot if he makes it will leave him uh probably a good opportunity for another one and he only needs three right now oh he’s playing it from behind ooh good try oh did he leave a Ticky or is that too kissy uh I think yeah I think it’s a little tricky and he shooting left-handed but it looks like he’s going for it I don’t see how he can get out of kiss but maybe he knows how super super deep into maybe might kick the yellow right into the red directly you can also hit short long long the rail off the red ball here believe if you get deeper in that corner that’s exactly what he’s doing he’s going for it he’s going to slide up the long ra so I slide up the short rail super spin beautiful shot very very nice shot maybe you just had to go feel the Ticky to rule it out cuz you’d hate to pass up a hanger but it didn’t yeah I think he didn’t have a way to pass the piss now what well he’s yellow and I think he’s just got to go the Red’s uh not too bad here you can put the white through the hole to avoid any kiss and just go straight three rails to the oh switch the ball col he’s the white ball he’s the white ball he may not want to touch that yellow ball because if he does uh there may be um yeah he’s going for the three rail bank but there may be a shot off of the yellow he’s going to hit the yellow must feel confident on making this well maybe he can go short I don’t know if he want to try to stretch it long directly to the red really gutsy shot here better manage that kiss you mean that kiss you did he managed it he managed it beautiful shot wow well you saw that kiss was coming so did he took care of it and he took a really delicate shot and he just finessed this into a tiny ball and when you have to get all that right and he wasn’t playing safe there he was all out scoring all out scoring with this kind of pressure with your opponent needing three that’s a brave shot and an excellent execution and he didn’t get too rewarded here he’s got more kisses to worry about that’s why he’s going to the rail first this this might be five times easier than the one he just did rail first five cushions 1 2 3 4 5 try waa is it too long watch out for that kiss there another one too long oh he got a very unlucky kiss but I think if he gets on the right line he doesn’t have that kiss there he hit it a little full and it took him long and the red had a different speed that was exciting shot but run of two closes the Gap slightly but is it enough cuz Alexander Salazar only needs three I’m getting nervous watching this I think he’s going to try to just drop it in that corner oh yes he did wow he almost hit the long ra know I was nervous yeah but he he made a beautiful shot all right uh any kiss here nope I think he’s home free um playing for two he makes this he’s got a big giant football there perfect just nicked it yeah hit it twice I saw him Nick it on the way in and now he’s playing for one yeah oh right the uh just tiny wiggle on the way in in case you didn’t see it he made sure to hit it again yep now here he’s in making his outch this is for the game and Alexander salar beats defeats katano 35- 27 in 22 Innings oh that was that was an exciting game yeah I mean katano could have come back at any moment there he started out strong y had the had the 6 five and four took a big lead then alexer come come back 5510 uh just beautiful beautifully composed shots um and uh and Ne neck around 19 somewhere around in there yeah yeah yeah at the end a very high very decent average there for both players um really appreciate you doing this uh match with me and and figuring out what these guys are doing um Rob raer thank you
