situation if you want to keep up with the Canucks Journey hit that subscribe button and give us a like Vincent desar is making headlines lately and it seems the Vancouver Canucks are looking to shake things up a bit with the trade deadline looming on March 7th there’s Buzz around deern potentially being on the Move Rick dwall recently reported that his name is circulating in trade discussions it’s interesting because Des was brought in just last summer and while he has great size and potential he struggled to find his footing as a regular defenseman Elliot fredman has also weighed in suggesting that the Canucks are open to giving dares a fresh start elsewhere initially it seemed like they were leaning towards wanting draft picks in return hoping to maintain some salary cap flexibility but now it looks like the team is willing to explore all options to help him get that new beginning it raises the question is this the right move for the Canucks Steven Ro from Canuck’s Army has even analyzed potential Landing spots for dear teams like the Colorado Avalanche Edmonton Oilers and Tampa Bay Lightning have popped up as possible suitors the Avalanche in particular might seem like an odd fit at first glance but with Josh Manson out their right side is a bit thin right now de Char could provide some of the grit and defensive presence that Manson brought to the table what really stands out to me is the avalanche’s current penalty kill situation which ranks as one of the worst in the league at just 74.4% adding someone like de Char could help Shore up that aspect of their game especially with the financial flexibility they have right now they might not have to pinch pennies when making this kind of acquisition as we look ahead to the trade deadline it’s clear that the Canucks have some decisions to make they could be patient with Dees allowing him to find his game over the next month if he can show some improvement it might maximize the return they could get in a trade but I can’t help but wonder is this truly the best path forward for the team for fans this situation can be quite emotionally charged we all have our hopes and dreams is tied to how our team is shaping up the decisions that management makes now can have lasting impacts on the franchise we want to see our team not just survive but thrive in the playoffs but with a player like deern who hasn’t consistently performed it’s a tough call and I want to hear from you Canucks fans what do you think about the possibility of trading deern is there a team out there that you think would be a perfect fit for him or do you believe he should stick around and find his groove right here in in Vancouver I’m genuinely torn on this one let’s get the conversation going in the comments below share your thoughts your frustrations or even your wildest trade ideas I’m all ears I’m Thatcher Demo’s return to the ice has certainly been a Hot Topic among Vancouver Canucks fans lately and I can’t say I blame anyone for being a little concerned after allowing nine goals in just two games since rejoining the squad you have to wonder if we’re seeing the same All-Star Demco we had last season his first game back against the St Louis Blues saw him making 21 saves on 25 shots and then against Boston he managed 23 saves on 28 shots sure those numbers don’t look great on paper but is it really all on him let’s take a closer look at what’s happening Demco has been out for a long stretch 8 months to be exact due to a chronic injury so it’s no surprise that there’s some Rust to shake off but here’s the kicker while the numbers show he’s allowed some goals that he probably should have stopped he’s also been making some incredible saves on high danger chances for instance his high danger save percentage is at 8.46% which is way above the expected Mark of 700% that’s impressive yet his low danger save percentage is lagging at 9 and 41% 3% lower than expected this tells a story of a goalie who’s been left to fend for himself against tougher shots while the Canucks have allowed 32 High danger shot attempts in in just two games it raises a crucial question is the team asking too much of him too soon with Kevin Lankin and out due to flu Demco is being thrust back into a demanding role and let’s be real overworking him could backfire as fans we’ve seen this scenario play out before and it’s concerning the Canucks need to find a way to ease the pressure on Demco allowing him to focus on the easier chances instead of battling for his life against High danger shots now I’m not saying Dem is blameless he’s definitely faced some criticism and has allowed a few goals that we would typically expect him to stop but considering the circumstances it’s clear that the Canucks need to tighten up defensively if they want him to regain his form they have to support him better relying on Demco to be a superhero every night isn’t a sustainable strategy so what do you think should the Canucks be worried about Demco moving forward I for one am torn on one hand I want to believe in his ability to bounce back he’s shown flashes of Brilliance especially against High danger shots and we know what he’s capable of when fully healthy but on the other hand it’s hard not to feel anxious about the potential toll this could take on him if the team doesn’t step up this situation impacts the future of the team significantly if Demco can’t find his Groove again it could derail any hopes we have for a successful season fans are already feeling the weight of expectations and the last thing we want is to see our star goalie struggle when he’s crucial to our playoff aspirations I want to hear from you what are your thoughts on Demo’s performances so far do you think the Canucks can turn it around or are we in for a rough ride let’s get a conversation going in the comments share your expectations frustrations and hopes for Demco and the team this season and if you’re enjoying this
