hello everybody good evening and welcome to the United stands I’m Mark goldbridge with your latest Manchester United news as Ruben amim is slammed by ex-man United players for his decision making around Manchester United especially yesterday against Nottingham Forest we’ve also got the Fallout as it continues with the departure of Dan Ashworth remember we were live this morning more information coming out about that and another ex-manchester United player in fact Gary Neville slamming amarim slamming inos for getting rid of Ashworth been very opinionated maybe we should get Gary in as C CEO prime minister of football and manager I think he could do it he gets up at 4:00 every morning he’s got the time um but look we’ll get into all of that Everyone’s entitled to their opinion and that’s why we’ll be reacting to that opinion of course um but look so it begins I I told I played the game I knew this was going to happen um the results would had to be good because if they weren’t good The Usual Suspects would start coming out criticizing the manager which is exactly what’s happened here um and effectively uh after the game yesterday there were numerous X players in the media filling Time by criticizing Ruben amarim over his selections his substitutions his rotations um which I have to say look my frustration was that I wanted to see more uh from Manchester United around a consistent uh first team but I also understand that a manager has to be given time to to to do that when he hasn’t got a preseason so it’s not like he hasn’t signposted all of this but this is this is what Gary Neville had to say after the game yesterday uh in relation to his issues with Ruben amarim he said that um um when you keep changing players when you keep changing your back three when you keep taking five players off you’re basically saying to them players they’ve been left out of the starting 11 and that you don’t trust them uh Eric tenard kept doing that a few weeks ago where he kept changing the back players changing the Midfield all all of a sudden you’ve got a completely different system a completely different set of players on the pitch at the end of the game and you can never get stability or consistency just leave the players on they weren’t actually playing that bad in the first half obviously they were undermined by the set pieces in terms of the corners but the total football generally wasn’t that bad then you allow two mistakes were made after halime after the first 10 minutes and you basically make changes all of a sudden everything falls to pieces and it looked really scuffy scruffy they looked a mess at the end uh United with no real shape I actually think at least in the first half they weren’t great but at least they had shape about them uh I think I said this for 10 hog 12 months ago pick an 11 that you think are the best we thought that 11 today apart from Luke Shaw was close to man United’s best 11 you can get um um but you know obviously he wasn’t very happy with the constant chopping and changing of the team uh Owen har gaves spoke about it as well but the thing I’ve got to say say here is is that I’m all for criticism and I’m sure there’s some of you that agree with what Gary Neville said there and what Owen harrie said when I read that out but it’s not like look I don’t mind criticism you’re going to get it but what I don’t like is I can criticize no matter what if he didn’t make changes and we lost 3-2 why didn’t he make Subs if he does make changes and we still lose the game why did he make Subs he damned if he does and he’s damned if he doesn’t in that situation it’s all right pontificating on national TV that I said this about ten AR I said tenar shouldn’t make shouldn’t shouldn’t change the team loads and look he got the sack and now am’s doing the same thing he’s changing the team too much he’s rotating the team too much we’re Manchester United why is he rotating the team so much I said this I said that but I know exactly if he’d stck with the team he’d have gone why is he not making changes it’s not working you’ve got you’ve got you’ve got seven sub you could make there why well and and that’s what annoys me about it is that you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t and actually what we end up with is this Echo chamber where a man united manager sorry what was that got bit spinach stck in the teeth um a Man United manager is basically just going to get scrutinized if man united lose we lost to Nottingham Forest if he makes subs or if he doesn’t make Subs we lose to manchest we lose to we weren’t going to we weren’t going to get a win yesterday we might have scrapped a draw but we weren’t going to get a win it would have been a bad result if we’ drawn it so what it what I’m trying to say is that whatever happened yesterday Amarin was going to get criticized by certain people because they’re not on board with the reality there’s there is no point in anybody sitting there and moaning about whether Bruno should have stayed on or whether Bruno should have took been taken off whether he should have rotated whether he should have made Subs all those things on not put worth moaning about because amarim has already given you the answer so what are you moaning about it’s like somebody saying when you walk into their restaurant the all only thing I can give you is a chicken sandwich and then they give you a chicken sandwich and you go why have I got a chicken sandwich why I got a chicken sandwich you know he literally said I will be rotating in the first few weeks because it’s important to get a look at everybody and he also said I can only use certain players for so many minutes he said it last weekend when he took delit off against Everton he said I could only play delit for 60 minutes so delit and yoro get taken off Yo’s first start of the Season he’s never going to play more than 70 minutes and delit we got signposted because he played against Arsenal that he could only play 60 Minutes against Everton so he’s definitely not going to play 90 against Forest on the Saturday so you get the these pundits saying I don’t know why he’s making changes I’ve said it so many times keep the same team and yet we already have the answer it’s rotational with some players because of minutes and fitness and if he keeps deltino on the pitch against the advice of the physios and they both get injured amim gets the he’s he literally said two weeks ago I’ve never spoken to Physio as much as I have done in the last two weeks because they’re telling him this player can only play this much this player can only play much this much you know why they’re doing it cuz they’re under pressure from inos so you’ve got Fitness Department telling a manager don’t use this player for more than an hour you’ve got manager who wants to use them for 90 minutes so this is a huge issue that’s going on at the football club we should be talking about that we shouldn’t be pinning it on the manager saying why is he making rotations why is he doing this we already know the bloody answer we know the answer some of these players haven’t got the minutes and are not allowed to play the minutes it’s as simple as that and on the other hand he’s rotating because look what what what’s Gary saying gacho shouldn’t have come off for rashford like a lot of people didn’t like gacho’s performance yesterday A lot of people wanted rashford to start yeah rashford came on and did nothing but that substitute was logical as well so I think you know we’re sort of we’re sort of taking a pop at the manager for no reason like we lost yesterday because these players aren’t good enough and it’s all right Gary saying you know if amim keeps rotating these players and leaving them out he going to lose the trust of the players why the should amm trust these player we don’t what why would am be bothered about the Trust From The Players I wouldn’t want their trust they can jog on I want their work I want their efforts I don’t need their bloody trust anyway I really don’t and then this is what Owen har greeves had to say and we’re going to talk about the Dan ashw thing in a minute because I know a lot of people that you know it’s very very topical but um this is what Owen harrie said I was amazed that Bruno went off he’d scored one helping assist another and was very threatening he he’s the guy him and ammed right now they’re going to create you something I’m sure amim will regret that Bruno was the one guy with everything running through him he was almost coaching the team on the pitch even for the first goal you can see him directing deit where to pass the ball him and Ahmad they’re the only ones creating something so you know Owen hard Greaves now I mean he’s had a great great great career hasn’t he Owen hard Greaves I mean you know never fit Luke Sha of the nautis and um you know but to be fair to him his coaching career is second to n actually it’s not it’s nonone um so this is what I mean like you’ve got a manager who is coming into a shitfest like this is a shitfest yeah he’s only been here two weeks and you’ve got ex players again I said this I said this I said this two months ago man United’s ex player Brigade have become exactly what Mark lawrenson and Allan Hansen were to Liverpool in the ’90s we’ve played the game we’ve won things with Liverpool and Liverpool could win all because their ex players were constantly piling in oh we’ve played the game we’ve played the game we’ve played the game this guy has only been here for two weeks and he’s already getting called out by ex players for rotating the team when he’s told you why and now he’s getting called out for subbing Bruno off which most of us have said needed to happen The Genius of taking Bruno off yesterday was I would have done it you would have done it amam did it and I think most of us went we probably shouldn’t do it again not because Bruno didn’t deserve to get subbed but because we were worse without Bruno it’s a big problem Bruno Bruno should have been subbed loads of times over the last nine months ten hog never really did it I don’t think Amon will do it again because we’re worse without Bruno in the team the problem is we’re not winning the league with Bruno in the team either so we’ve got a problem here we can’t sub Bruno because the team falls apart without his leadership but when he’s on the pitch he doesn’t play well enough to get us where we need to go so that’s a big problem really that is a big problem and as for Owen harre saying Bruno is the guy Bruno is the only guy making things happen mate it cost his the bloody second goal at 1-1 he cost us the bloody goal and he missed a lot of passes yesterday as well so I I don’t think Bruno will get subbed again but you’ve almost got to do it to show people the value of him and I think a lot of people now will be saying don’t sub Bruno off even if he’s having a bad game because we saw what happens when Bruno doesn’t play so am’s got to learn these things I don’t know why am’s being held up like he’s been here for three years he’s been here for two weeks he can rotate what he bloody well likes he can sub what he bloody well likes it doesn’t need ex players going I wouldn’t have done this I wouldn’t have done that well get off your ass and go and manage mfield town and build your career then instead of sitting there trying to bloody pick holes in a new regime from a manager I mean bloody hell I don’t see any of you pundits sat there slagging off the players that have been here for years sinking the boats no you won’t do that because they’re in the bloody Club aren’t they but no manager Open Season and it annoys me because he’s literally given the reasons for what you’re moaning about Fitness and also giving people a chance in the first two weeks because he’s got no preseason imagine imagine if amim picked the same team every game for the last two weeks that would be about 10 players that wouldn’t have had had a sniff in and also we’d probably have another four or five injuries as well it it’s like being a backseat driver it is they’re like they’re like backseat drivers but unfortunately they sat on the mainstream blurting for the gullible to read and swallow and it it just starts to cause problem for our manager doesn’t it that’s what happens um s morgs thanks for your Super Chat Bruno worries me he’s a liability at times but but also an asset at times I wish he could start being more patient as Brendan I think we’ve got a Bruno problem mate I think when you take him off or he’s injured we’re not the same but on the pitch is ridiculously erratic so the the way to solve that problem is to bring players in better than him who are also leaders which we don’t have the capability of doing so if we are not good enough with Bruno it looks like we’re worse without him and that’s a reality because everybody thinks TDA we’re man united we’re back again but we’ve had this conversation before what if we’re not back again what if with Bruno we’re not good enough but without him we’re even worse how do you solve that problem it’s not a problem that people can deal with because they think green and red great and they can’t deal with we’re not good enough but without him we’re worse how do you solve that problem you you got you got it’s leadership isn’t it uh what exactly does amim need to see through rotating the players did he not study our Squad before joining opposition study tapes why didn’t amim I mean Alex that’s got to be one of the worst takes in the world but I’ll explain why in case you don’t understand how the hell can amarim study videotapes of players he’s never worked with before he’s got to physically pick the team give them a chance look some people haven’t had a sniff Anthony casmiro Erikson can’t get in the team anymore so he’s quickly established what they’re about but the key thing that you’re missing Alex is he’s rotating players because of Fitness yoro cannot play more than 60 minutes yesterday delit cannot play more than what he played yesterday he’s already told us that about that from a physio perspective so a lot of these rotations are because of Fitness mazwi didn’t start yesterday because he’s been playing a lot of football but people think this is a game of FIFA where you turn fatigue off where you can pick your same Team every bloody three days we can’t do it Anana for me is a leaky goalkeeper he can’t be trusted says Constantine um Patrick Lynch said they’d say the exact opposite if he made no changes exactly the pundits do everything but say it as it is the majority of the squad is either not good enough or underperforming and that’s the problem says Patrick thank you very much I love seeing people frak out for no reason amim hasn’t even been here a month Mesa has had way more time to adjust than am says Leo and the had a preseason the harsh reality is we’re crap says Sean yes we are we’re exactly where we should be we are 13th in the league miles behind everybody else because loads of other teams are better than us and they had a preseason and they’ve got better players and we’re expecting amim to come in and just make man united a top four side it’s not going to happen yes we’ve got the players wages to be in the top four but as we all know we’ve paid stupid wages for players that aren’t worth it if we if we ran a c of adjustment on wages imagine like somebody came in and said oh my God there’s this clause in every man United’s players’s contract that if they’re in the bottom half of the table for more than two weeks you get to redo their wages imagine sitting everybody down we we’re sat there as a board Marcus rashford walks in what are you currently on I’m not telling you well and we know it’s around 300K I’ll give you 150 that’s the maximum in walks Mason Mount 250k I’ll give you 125 um casemiro walks in 350k I’ll give you 125 you know just massive massive wage reductions for what people are actually worth based on the evidence we’ve seen in a man united shair um realist says Sancho’s excelling now I mean mate I really don’t care I I really don’t want to talk about Sancho I don’t see what the relevancy of it is um we’ve sacked the manager that didn’t work with Sancho we’ve now got a brand new manager Sancho’s doing well at Chelsea I I don’t see the conversation anymore I think if ten hog was still here maybe but you know Sancho’s in London in an environment that he’s probably quite happy in in Manchester he was late for training he wasn’t happy there’s a lot to be said for a player being in a position where they’re happy and I’m I don’t care what he’s doing at Chelsea I really don’t they’re in a title race well done he’s probably really enjoying it I don’t regret him leaving man united I’m glad he left Man United and if he has a good career for from here we need to make sure we have a good career from here that’s the problem no problem with Sancho or mctom or Waka having a good career away from man united we don’t have a divine right for every player that we get rid of for them to be what we need to do is look at ourselves and that’s the most important thing um we can’t say we are worse without Bruno because of crap players around who need instruction but then say he’s the one who can’t get us to the top he is the least of our worries in my opinion big up the community as ever ever says Edward no I disagree Edward I think it is a problem I don’t think Bruno’s playing well enough as an individual but when he goes off the team suffer because we don’t have a leader um individually I don’t think his performances are good enough over the last nine months but there’s no doubt that there’s nobody who can lead the team as well as him uh Neville is a disgrace as Stig he’s not a United supporter anymore he is a pup of the media saying amim has to trust the players they can’t be trusted says Stig and Mark as a club we made bad decisions says Keel Robinson and S morg says Mark in your honest opinion how many players in that Squad are good enough for United um I mean that’s a multi-layered question mate I mean for me I still think that there are you know about 25 to 30% of that Squad that should be gone tomorrow there’s about 40 30% of that Squad that you’d work with and then there’s probably about the remainder that have got question marks I mean Mason mount’s a question mark for me um you know Luke Shaw is a player I’d get rid of because of his injuries and mayu’s a player I’d keep as part of the future so you just go through that keep question mark get rid and maybe we do do a show on that but that’s how I look at it some of these pundit views are so outdated says Brendan um and the problem is that Bruno is the only one of the players with a creative spark if he plays badly we can’t bring on Carrick or gigs says Nicholas Maxwell amrabat and rabio solved that problem says keil Robinson and Brack says amam is not the problem a system cannot work when players think they know better and operate outside it Bruno can’t lead and won’t listen uh says bra um and Brendan says Bruno worries me he’s a liability at times but also asset I wish he could start being more patient and make the pass when it counts and what exam what exactly does amim need to see I’ve done that one from Alex I think um I liked that point about players just not doing what they’re asked I think one of the overarching things from my match reaction yesterday and we can say it today 24 hours later was the indiscipline that crept in again absolutely identical to the problems that we saw under ten hog long shots misplaced passes not picking up the Runners um Hollywood passes all the bad things came back because they revert to type they they they they abandon what they’re being told to do and just go back to what they you know what they know and and and that’s indisciplined um Tom Williams says Gary Neville is just as sour because Hotel football is going down the pan he’s got no credentials to criticize amarim considering his own managerial history thank you very much Tom well he also had something to say about um the sit situation with Dan Ashworth um that um I wanted to read out as well because the Dan Ashworth thing has took quite an interesting um turn um so basically after our show this morning it’s becoming more and more more and more info starting to come out there’s certain people saying that Dan Ashworth was actually a um accompanied out of Old Trafford yesterday almost like get out of the club um like there was some sort of Fallout um there’s all sorts of rumors coming out one of them I will mention because there’s been a lot of people over the last 6 months other other other content creators people are always trying to take a dig at the United stand who over the last six months don’t seem to um miss a beat in trying to make out that I or the United stand was scaremongering about GED Southgate and made it up um it’s come out today that Dan Ashworth was a was pushing for G Southgate and this was something that irritated inos um I knew this back in March and that’s why I said it multiple times we’ve got to be very careful that we don’t end up with G Southgate some people seem to not want to believe that because they want to use it as a stick to hit this community so it’s very interesting that that’s come out again because there’s no reason for it to come out again we didn’t get Gareth Southgate we kept ten hog in the summer and then we got amorim but it’s come out again today um in March for briter romano and Mark Ogden both mentioned United’s interest and admiration for Gareth Southgate and that was led by Dan Ashworth who worked with Gareth Southgate for England so the GTH Southgate rumors did and were genuine and they did most likely emanate from some would say ashworth’s ass because he must have been talking out of it mentioning that name with man united but that’s obviously where it came from so for that to come out again today is quite justifying because we that that story was true um what I find very interesting is is what Gary Neville has come out and said because I think Gary Neville is somebody that may have worked with Dan Ashworth at England as well correct me if I’m wrong please have a go in the chat if I’m wrong but Gary Neville has basically slammed Dan ashworth’s man united statement in relation to him uh and and and and the removal of Dan Ashworth and I think there may well have been some Crossover with Neville and Ashworth as well um but he’s expressed his shock at the way that Dan Ashworth has left and he said uh this that um something like that can’t be mutual we all know when inos came in there would be huge changes and there has been massive redundancies in the Club complete overhaul of the executives in the club CEO CFO sporting director technical director manager just recently as well you’d have expected large changes but not for this position Dan Ashworth was head hunted for many many months he was chased for about 10 months he was on gardening leave for four or five minutes uh he was paid millions of pounds for I worked with Dan Ashworth at the fa there we go haven’t read this statement yet so there you go he worked with Dan I worked with Dan Ashworth at the fa and he’s been successful wherever he’s gone I’m really shocked this morning that this has happened and it’s going to need a lot of explaining the statement that the club has put out is really poor uh man united haven’t had a voice for 10 years they lost their Authority their boldness I think they’ve been getting it back in the last 12 months but what is clear is that there’s a fracture here something has happened you can’t bring someone at the level of Dan Ashworth lose him after five months and think something hasn’t gone wrong fans are going to be asking questions of what’s going wrong they’ll speculate it will leave a huge void I think it’s better to punch Us in the face when it’s so obvious that something has gone wrong between the personalities of Ashworth barard and David braford whoever it is in the last few months that have gone on with each other it’s not been working just tell us it’s obvious Something’s Happened I think the statement was weak well look obviously I think straight away Gary Neville has obviously got a relationship with Dan Ashworth from England and he’s obviously very disappointed that he’s gone um look to be honest with you I do I do actually agree with certain aspects of what Gary Neville is saying I think the statement is a little bit weak because it leaves a lot of question marks um I said this morning they did spend a lot of they put a lot of focus on getting Dan Ashworth they made a big deal out of getting Dan ashwith they went to war with Newcastle to get Dan ashwith they had him on gardening Le for six months and then sack him after five months so it is an embarrassment in relation to inos but the flip side to that coin is if you say for the whole year that you want a PS5 for Christmas and then you get it and you’re like it’s not as good as I thought it was going to be I want an Xbox should you keep the P PS5 when you’ve got the opportunity to get the Xbox um there’s no if if man united fielded made a mistake with Dan Ashworth the best thing they can do is is is remove that mistake of course what I would like to know and we won’t find out and I think this is where Gary’s naive is that he wants them to come out and basically say we fell out but you can’t do that they’re a business you know they’re on the stock exchange they can’t come out and go we got rid of Dan because he’s he wanted GTH Southgate and he liked English things he they can’t do that because man united are under NDA as well so we we won’t get that that’s not going to happen if we’re to believe the rumors I sort of disagree Dan ashw with’s success predominantly is is overrated like at Newcastle their better players were already there Bruno gz was not a Dan Ashworth signing so their better players were already there and they weren’t a rip roaring success Brighton already had the model before Dan ashwith was there and also the name Gareth Southgate Jared branway whilst we shouldn’t ridicule don’t it feels to me like Sir Alex Ferguson’s book when Brian kid was his assistant and he walked in and mentioned the name John harson and Sir Alex Ferguson said I looked at him and sort of went we’re Manchester United and that’s the sort of thing I I think about Dan Ashworth the fact that you would mention Gare Southgate sort of suggests to me that you don’t really get it and maybe maybe that’s the thing may maybe they’ve looked at Dan Ashworth and gone you’re good at what you do but you don’t really understand Manchester United and there’s a there’s a thing about man united and am’s spoken about it and many people have spoken about it maybe it’s just maybe just doesn’t fit with Manchester United maybe that’s what it’s all about and um it’s ridiculously ruthless and it is there is an element of embarrassment but um I disagree with Gary that it’s a weak statement in the sense that you should get anything else it’s a weak statement because there’s no substance to it and it leaves this massive void of confusion and speculation but you’re not going to get detail we sacked him because of this I mean bloody hell even in relation to the United stand or other places I’ve worked when people leave there’s no public statement because you’re respecting those people and they might want to go and say something or Dan Ashworth might want to say something at some point or leak something out but Manchester United can’t be that they will they will have a contract with Dan Ashworth they will have to pay Dan with off um I think we’re just going to have to see what the reaction is from Manchester United and whether this works out or not um but but but what’s what what what’s very clear what is very very clear and it was very very clear from the piece that David orstein did and what fabrio Romano said is that people at man united were pissed off with Dan Ashworth this is not mutual consent there’s no way this is mutual consent um this is a quick reaction I I still don’t understand what the forest results Got to Do With It by the way that that to me is weird it feels like losing to Forest was the final straw for Dan Ashworth and I’m like well he didn’t pick the team so I don’t I don’t really understand why it happened after the game against Forest but it’s very clear that something has pissed off to Jim radliff and inos with Dan Ashworth and you know was it the failure to sell players in the summer was it the Bruno contract was it the recommendations of people like Southgate um was it the recommendations of players that they didn’t like um I I don’t know but the you know maybe maybe maybe they they held it against him how much money they spent on ten hog I don’t know but bottom line is would you rather we continued with the relationship was that was toxic or we proactively removed it and only time will tell I don’t think anyone is taking coaching advice from Gary Neville says Marty call me crazy says Dane Jane but I seriously don’t think losing Ashworth is that big of a deal uh there are always other options and we need the best of the best well demario’s linked us to Berta and I forget where he is now I think he was at uh Atletico Madrid I’ve mentioned him before um has a very good uh CV very European though Andrea Bera um currently sporting director Atletico Madrid um you know could he be somebody that Manchester United look like want to bring in um I’m just reading it here actually I’ll read it out to you Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta as a replacement for Dan Ashworth that’s from Dam mattio um and um obviously he’s he’s he’s had a very good career um and he is somebody with a hell of a lot of experience um I certainly remember him being linked to United at the start of the year and I’m I think I’m right in saying that there were reports that he would love to take the job I think he might have even done an interview to that effect um look I I hope we’re going to bring somebody in I I hope it’s not going to be an internal thing because internal things worry me because you have somebody remove them and then you move somebody into it it’s like when we it’s like when understands the European game and I think somebody that you know is in tune with amarim style of play I mean I’ve heard people say today that Ashworth and amarim style of play just didn’t work you know Ashworth had done a lot of work around the way ten hog played suddenly amim sty football it’s back to the you know it’s conflicted um so that’s really important as well why do I think European expert is really important because there’s a world out there um because I think when you look at Man United at the moment instead of buying Jared bran weight for 60 million there will be a left footed Center back in Europe for 25 um and I think that’s what we need to do like the left back needs to be everybody we buy has got to be talented Ed with the right personality and the ability to grow and most of those and we need a lot of those we can’t afford 80 million or 60 million so we need a lot of players and the best place to get those players as we’ve seen in the Premier League over the last 10 years is Europe there’s a lot of leagues in Europe and there’s a lot of value in Europe and of course there is in South America um you know maybe Asia North America but predominantly Europe is the market we need to operate in which is one I think we’ve brought FAL in because he’s brilliant at bringing in younger players uh through that RB model so I think a European director of football would be ideal um because you’ve got you’ve already got a lot of English expertise at the man united anyway I mean Darren Fletcher Jason Wilcox so I I think you I mean look brailsford’s got a part to play
