no problem whatsoever then as it finishes Aston Villa 2 uh Manchester City one let’s just take a look at what that means uh regarding the table talk about Arsenal big win for them against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest just get going don’t they but our Focus remains on Manchester City who fall to sixth in the table Aston Villa move up to fifth with that Victory Frank Leff uh joins us as we reflect on come Frank there you are look at the camera professional there we are lovely um we’ll hear from Frank in a moment if Liverpool win the two games in hand well not that City are in the title race or not but there’ be 15 points behind right here’s the thing which struck me let’s start off from with the start you’re Manchester City you’re struggling yet you start a game so poorly as they did there just seems to be nothing from this side that they’re offering at the moment everything they do is poor at the moment everything the manager says is quite poor as well uh they’ve gone yeah it’s not not trying there’s no point trying to analyze it’s theyve just as a as a collective unit they have they have gone right I was talking to somebody yesterday and I said well got to get up a little bit early tomorrow to watch Man City get and beat again sort of tongue and Shi but you kind of just thinking that’s how every week doesn’t matter who they’re playing I’ve said this a lot doesn’t have to be the best team v a good side but it doesn’t have to be the the best sides could be a side in the bottom three it could be anybody so they’ve got this Champions League games coming up in the next few weeks or whenever it is they’re struggling in that they’re struggling here in the Premier League the manager does not know what to say or do or handle this adversity and there be a lot of other managers out there looking and going welcome to my world Welcome to our world this is the kind of thing we have to deal with most weeks struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League or La Liga or the Bundesliga or whever it is getting asked those questions but I think one one part of it is this side has come to the end of its lifespan most of the players a lot of the players not them all but a lot of the senior players now yeah cannot affect the others and the games in the way that they once could and yeah and to that point I just look at a team that is whether it’s all in terms of age or all in terms of legs they can’t move and that was highlighted today by Morgan Rogers on the turn in the second goal he just runs by people and Manchester City are just kind of pulling him back and hoping that somehow somebody will step and nobody actually does step and so there is a lack of overall Team Speed individual speed but overall team speed of Manchester City that when you get out in transition against Manchester City which has been an issue in the the past but it seems to be a goal happening every time now every time somebody gets out in space they seem to go and score a goal and Manchester City has no way of stopping it on the subject of Guardiola he over the last six weeks over the last couple of months he has been undressed as a manager and there have been many questions as to what are you going to do with your team and every responser most of the responses have been we’re going to be okay we’re going to be okay we’re going to be okay we just keep working one game at a time H okay well at some point I don’t know I’m guessing at some point you there has to be some emergency and if it wasn’t Pep Guardiola we would not be having this conversation because he would be gone now he has a different standard and perhaps we don’t have to have that conversation but I need to see changes I need to see adjustments I need to see a different message and to your point I’m minute in they’re making the same mistake that they were making last week yeah yeah Frank yeah um I’m very well waited for goola because at a certain point you know reality will uh will we have to be faced and uh and he always been you know in the easy I would say way where with the money with the player that he had he’s been successful that’s maybe the first time that he struggles and can find a solution and what we hear is going to maybe he going to hire some other players especially in middle of the park to sort all the problems out but with the player that he has he should be able to solve the problems I mean take the first goal I mean that’s a consecutive consequences of Mistakes by the by so many players and especially Rico leis who who’s not mocking anybody but as un say the fact Stones Get gets out maybe aeni should have talked to him and be before but that shows how weak Manchester City are when they when they talk defensively before that never happened because they were getting the ball back very high so we didn’t didn’t see the weaknesses of the Defenders or the M the midfielders now we see because opponents are very clever they’re very talented as well and we have to give credit to Aston Villa because they really deserve to win but what we see it’s you know what as Silva said Bernardo Silva he said we look like 15 years old 15y old kids playing football the very average I mean it took wola quite some time to sign this new contract didn’t it and I’m kind of thinking now whether he was doubting himself seeing some issues coming up within this side right doubting his own desire to have the energy to to go for another year or two but somebody behind the scenes people behind the scenes desperately Clinging On to at the time the best manager on the planet and convincing him you know to stay at Man City to to go again and I wonder whether in his mind he wouldn’t have imagined it was going to be as bad as this but he probably forsaw some some issues and some problems and maybe he’s got Instinct was to to walk away and take a sabatical again and then pop up somewhere else but he’s been I’m only suggesting this maybe somewhat coerced into to stay in and signing and now he’s maybe regretting doing it because he probably saw that there was some issues that needed to be addressed and I’m kind of thinking this is all rolling into one you know what I mean and but to to see it be as bad a team who were one of the most feared along with Real Madrid one of the most feared teams in Europe to be self-destructing really against any team in the Premier League is is quite scary and to your point one of the most feared teams over the last few seasons now they fear they are the ones with fear they fear themselves they fear themselves they fear their mistakes they they fear what they have become and that is the reality of Manchester City another point on P boa when when do we start to question his judgment and decision making on players that have left Manchester City yeah Morgan Rogers of course Morgan Rogers yeah you can say Cole Palmer you can add that and so that was to the original point that Craig was making that there are players in this in this club that have reached now the last sort of big moment of their careers with Manchester City but but there is no Next Generation to take on those roles and so we they Manchester City complain or lean on the fact that well there’s been injuries well there were players here that have gone on to be productive and so the same way that we would criticize Jose Mourinho by letting muhamad Salah go or Kevin De bruyne go it when is it fair to question Guardiola and say hey Cole Parmer brilliant over there Morgan Rogers running by your whole team when is it a good time I think right about now by the way rodri is a brilliant player but he’s not Superman no no and this isn’t all this isn’t all Rod no this is this is rodri this is this is deeper and more problematic yes than just one very very good player yeah been missing uh Frank I don’t even know what to ask anymore before we move on was there anything else you want to say about city um well maybe the only light in that you can see in the at the end of the tunnel is that I found Fen better than before that he he was quite prod productive today and that’s his first goal also of the season so maybe because of him something’s going to start again but it’s it’s hard to say well you know what I want to talk about Aston Villa I really enjoyed the game they played I mean all credit to the coach and the players I mean Duran Watkins was substitute that’s amazing and Duran what a player I mean those two Strikers are amazing and Martinez you have to give credit to him he knows what to do in the middle of the park we can see that players are doing really good Onana and Camara working hard Chans was amazing on top of Rogers I mean everybody’s working is sucks off it’s what I like about this team they are convincing in the way that they want to show to their fans that they want to work hard and they are committed into it which is complete opposite of what we see with Manchester City uh and uh it’s why yeah we try to find a way to explain why City lost maybe the reason why is also because Aston Villa has been good they got three games against city that is against weaker opposition Everton Boxing Day it the first West Ham and then one other nearer the bottom uh so he’s got to pick up a win there uh surely but what in those three games but you you just you just don’t know it’s and he can’t walk away can he you can’t say well sign this new but well I suppose he could he could but the amount of mud that would be thrown at him as a quitter right because when he had the messies and all that and his teams were playing great and when de bruyne was at his pump and Silva and all these guys at City are now not playing well you were happy then but the first sign of adversity the biggest sign of adversity in your managerial career by far and you walking away I mean he’s leav if he does that I I’m sure he doesn’t care but he’s leaving himself open to a bit of a battering saying yeah you’re okay when everything’s going great but you’re not up for rolling your sleeves up in a fight uh when it starts to go badly I don’t think he will but you just never know where this guy
