appalachin State and North Texas this one in Denton tonight North Texas is actually a double digigit favorite 12-point favorite at home total 123 low totals a lot of the time in the mean green games uh let’s get the discussion underway Jeff Nao give me a thought on this I mean obviously it looks like from the BET us numbers uh that we should have a pretty low-scoring game do you agree with that or what is an initial thought here on this game yeah I uh I spent a lot of time racking my brain on this game um and I I wanted to bet the under but I mean you’re just getting no no value to bet the under um I feel like this is a game where you know teams struggle to get to 60 I had a hard time understanding how C state would score okay I’ve talked about this time and time again on this show teams from the Sun Belt very dribble Driver Line getting to the line getting to the rim you’re not going to do that against North Texas they have one of the better uh defenses in the country really wh off and and wall off the paint I just don’t see where App State scor they play egregiously Slow uh in the 300s Tempo wise they don’t make free throws um they really just don’t possess the ball and don’t not turn it over I look at North Texas I think the only concern I have is they have gotten hot at times from three but outside of that they’re ungodly slow um they don’t really do a lot of good things well on offense and are good defensively so I felt like this was you know like a 6256 type of game um I thought maybe this was a little too high from a number standpoint as well but with the ability that North Texas has at times to make threes and turn you over maybe there’s some extra run outs in this game I just ultimately stayed off it but it’s a weird hodg Podge game um I I felt like it was too many points and maybe the had some value but I ended up staying off it not going to force anything understood Matt Cox we did talk about their game a couple of nights ago with Mississippi Valley State uh the valley hung in you had them with the large line as the uh as the dog there they end up getting 83 Points North Texas in that game obviously better opposition here so we think with Appalachia say thoughts Matt cooch yeah my first saw it’s just a big number I mean App State I know they’re down this year but Dustin Kars the way they play Just profile as a feisty dog they got some real size up front CJ Huntley can control the glass um and coming off a really not embarrassing loss to Louisiana but you lose a game and then that team that beat you fires their head coach you got to think AB State’s going to come out with a Better Effort tonight um and it’s a short turnaround but you know short turnaround for both teams right you know North Texas played two nights ago too obviously they’re in the better spot because they stayed at home they play Mississippi Valley State not exactly a taxing effort by any stretch but uh I think the the spot is what I think people might be looking to to pick on if you’re looking to bet against AB state but I don’t think the spot’s enough to justify 12 points against the mean green who are really good but with this with this like I said the total at 123 I mean that’s just sort of a tough um you know it’s a tough ask to to cover a big number in a game that’s going to probably be very very slow possession 22nd 25 30 second possessions uh slightly into AB state but again nothing in a game when I don’t know what the motivation is for either team right not a conference game so just an easy pass for me I will say I think if there’s a play and I’m sure Matt would age if there is a play look I agree with him I think AB state is a solid group is this a normal AB State team no I thought 56 seemed a little high for their team total I could see a situation where you know they’re in the the low 50s uh this North Texas team they’re just not going to give you a ton of possessions they don’t they don’t play Fez either so under 56 looks strong a team total but it’s hard all right again the game at the super pit tonight at the arena in Denton Texas in North Texas north of the Dallas Fort Worth area 8 Eastern Time on ESPN plus and again uh North Texas laying double figures laying 12 saw a viewer I think Jack had it and said hey I made I made the number somewhere around nine I love it when the chat peeps uh always come with their own analytics with their own number uh nothing official though from our guys on game number one again thank you for finding us a lot of you have joined in here over the course of the last 5 six seven minutes minutes hit the like button make sure you’re subscribed we will be here on Monday there are games on Monday then we’ll take a little break because there are not games on Christmas Eve Christmas day uh Etc but we’re typically here Monday through Friday we’ll be back later in the week next week here on BET us TV and the college basketball coverage let’s move on to game
