they just beat him something that we expected now they find themselves meeting in the second round of the battle for Atlantis I’m guy Franklin I’m with Connor hope Connor first off tell me what you’re looking for at a Zona for this one a Beatdown um congrats to Arizona on winning the battle for Atlanta uh I if I’m Arizona I’m kind of frustrated that the bracket became the way it did because now your championship game or your third game is against Louisville or West Virginia Which neither of them I think are guaranteed Louisville probably is a quad one but neither of them are guaranteed to be a quad one uh but they did what they’ve done against every team outside the top 100 this year which has absolutely beat them down you got a good Caleb love game which hasn’t happened all year um so in in this game against Oklahoma we got the we got the Jeremiah fear’s Legacy game out of the way against Providence now I think it’s just a matter of okay wild cats go out there play your game on both ends of the floor and you should win this easily um maybe make some more threes than you have on the season um on average uh and then like if Arizona plays their game and they made 50% of their threes today even if that’s down to like 30 some odd percent if they play their game they win this game against Oklahoma Oklahoma really just needs to play a defense that can throw a wrench in what Arizona wants to do offensively and I’m not sure they have the horses to do it yeah I mean look you want to talk about Oklahoma they had to win this game 79 to 77 with about 25 seconds left in the game they were up 77 to 70 that should tell you all you need to know about where this Oklahoma team is at defensively there was a a little graphic in the bottom leftand corner of the game at one point that said uh Providence 60 run last three seconds which I thought was just hilarious uh I mean it is hilarious but Porter Moser almost lost this game for his team in the only close game they’ve played this year I mean look realistically you need another Kobe Elvis generational performance you need another Jeremiah fears I’m here I want to get drafted I’m a 16-year-old playing college basketball or however young he is and you need Jaylen Moore to be himself and even that might not be enough if you get a Caleb love game we have seen Kaleb Love Games before I am well documented in my love for Caleb love uh I think he is the greatest basketball player on the planet maybe ever I say that half jokingly uh because he’s my favorite basketball player on the planet maybe ever uh just you know the way he plays is so fun that being said I I mean he’s obviously the the key to the game for Arizona the key to the game for Oklahoma might end up being Sam Godwin not getting into foul trouble because when he got four fouls and they had to sit him down the defense got worse and uh the you know the rebounding obviously got worse because he’s one of the better rebounders in the sport this year and I think he’s he’s one of those guys where he’s not going to you know have a 25o game scoring but he’s going to let your Kobe Elvis’s your Jeremiah fears your jayen Moors have their big games their flashy performances and he’s there former walk-on now he’s you know starting big man he’s gonna do his thing and he’s gonna open up the doors for their their big guys to go what I think was interesting in the Providence game is how good they were at avoiding fouls they gave up five fouls in the first three minutes of the second half and didn’t let Providence get into the bonus until there were fewer than 10 minutes left if you don’t get into that foul trouble initially you just play defense like that before because it wasn’t bad defense if you can play defense like that before you’ll have a chance as long as you can stop guys like Caleb love from three do you think that sort of is the goal for Oklahoma yeah and I also I think you need the scoring output from Jeremiah Fierce um because I call it his legacy game I don’t have the final total right in front of me but it was 20 point no I’m talking about turnovers oh it was like it was almost 10 um by himself in that game Arizona is not a an elite perimeter defense in terms of turning you over but in their first two games I think they got up into like 18 then 18 19 eight turnovers himself okay exactly like if if Jeremiah FS plays like he did against Providence and the shots aren’t falling all of a sudden this game is over before it starts uh but you’re right I think I think the question is is how can Oklahoma beat Arizona because Arizona to me uh has the advantage at almost every position probably every position um May KOB kobel was Jaden Bradley Jaden Bradley has been steady this year like he hasn’t been I I agree with you Kobe love Kobe Elvis I love has been great Jaden Bradley I think though has been he’s been the steadiest player on this team for Arizona over the course of the season um but if that’s like your nitpick but you’re I mean you’re looking at two through five and you’re going uh that way it’s it’s you know to me it’s just a matter of does Arizona win this game big or does Oklahoma have the players on defense to maybe limit them because really like Oklahoma’s a good team when it comes to preventing offensive rebounds um but Arizona is the best offensive rebounding team in the country so it’s like Arizona’s going to get second and third chance opportunities in this game Arizona’s going to limit what Oklahoma can do offensively Arizona’s going to I think take advantage of those turnovers uh and anything you get from Beyond The Arc is a bonus the more I talk about this and and I joked congratulations in the battle for Atlantis I think maybe Louisville or even West Virginia with the way they played defense against Gonzaga could throw a wrench into what Arizona wants to do but I don’t think Oklahoma has that style of play that you need to stop this this Wild Cat’s offense yeah I I I agree with you a lot there I I think that this is going to end up being a big Arizona win that being said I do think it’s worth noting that Davidson is the first team with a pulse that the wild cats have beaten I mean look and I’m not even Davidson’s gonna end up being a Q2 game unless they sweep their Atlantic 10 schedule because they don’t really have that much left on their their schedule that would boost them to the point of you know that of of being more than a Q2 game and they’re nonon so unless they surprise us that’s a Q2 game Oklahoma can probably teetering on the edge of being in that top 50 for the net I think they probably make it because they’re in the Big 12 and we know how the big 12 or no they’re in the SEC year the SEC I’d also point out that Davidson right now if if and it’s not a perfect match and we don’t have the net that comes out soon um but if kpom which is gener like it’s in the same realm as the net um they 100 24th which is which means that by NE by kenpom Davidson right now is a Q3 win oh yeah they’re not top 100 they’re not top 100 okay that’s interesting um well that that threw a wrench in my analysis I think that they’ll end up as a Q2 game by the end of the year they’re they’re a decent team I think they could they could push you know the expectation should be that that’s a Q2 win but it’s not right now if if we can make a educated this game is going to be I think Oklahoma can do more defensively to slow down Arizona I don’t think they can do a ton to slow down Arizona um I think Arizona hits 90 so give me Arizona 92 Oklahoma 74 like just shy of a 20po win I just the way Arizona dismantled Davidson offensively today and was able to limit them defense on the defensive end and the way that this Oklahoma team has been performing um and kind of did perform from a turnover perspective against Providence but that was that was a little bit uncharacteristic um I just have a hard time thinking that they are able to keep up on that end of the floor so I think Arizona probably walks away from this one with 18 might be too high give me 92 to 76 so a 16o I have similar scoring margins I think that if I do the quick math mine is 14 instead of 16 I don’t think that it’s quite as high scoring as you think I was going to say that the score is going to be 88 to uh 82 or wait no that is terrible math I am sorry I uh not 82 I was trying to do the math there from I thought at 14-point margin with Arizona scoring 88 that’s 74 74 so I guess Oklahoma scores a same amount of points as you had yeah but uh 88 to 74 I’m going to go do math homework um not actually I’m on Thanksgiving break I don’t have class um go check out the the the recap that subie and I did about the Oklahoma Providence game and you’ll hear more about our thoughts on Porter Moser as a head coach right now he made some boneheaded mistakes in the last four seconds of that basketball game that almost lost them the game to Providence and a game that Providence would have won handily if Bryce Hopkins had been available like we thought when we previewed the game I don’t think Oklahoma stands a real chance and I think a big part of that is because of Porter Moser and also because of the foul trouble that Sam Godwin got in I will say this about Porter Moser well I have been critical of Dan Hurley and I have been critic and I was critical of Mark Fu at the end of that game against West Virginia for Gonzaga both of them out coached themselves at the end of games that led to losses for Yukon and Gonzaga Porter Moser is also a coach that has been able to coach his team to a final four Porter Moser came in as also a coach that was a really good coach I’m not going to let a disaster of a final minute change that for me to me this is less about
