is got they are punch drunk their ability to absorb pressure has dissipated it has gone it has fallen away we are delving into both those games tonight on the full fan highlight show get the like Manchester City but but but but I wanted to start with Arsenal on the show tonight when we did the straight fact show this afternoon with Dan pots and lb when we got onto that section I would say 80% of the comment section predicting Arsenal defeats we’re predicting Arsenal draws we’re talking about how hard a game this was going to be and they were absolutely right to say it was going to be a hard game that there was nobody thought tonight’s game was going to be easy there isn’t a football fan on planet Earth that thought this would be easy unbeaten since March at home unbeaten in all competitions I think barring the super cup I think they drew they lost 4-2 to Porto but they’ve been in tremendous form sporting lisbourne Arsenal’s away record in Europe in recent years has been very poor under arteta has been poor and this Arsenal team needed not just a win not just goals not just clinical Edge but they needed a performance and they put on a clinic tonight they pressed brilliantly well in the beginning they were moving the ball quickly they were creating numerical advantages predominantly on that left hand side the goals came from the left but created on the right and sporting couldn’t handle Arsenal you have odard pulling the strings looking Majestic the link up between him uan Timber and Bayo Saka was out of this world and the way they combined for the first two goals it was it was poetry in motion it was beautiful to watch and you started to listen as we went into the international break arsenal were rightfully being criticized where’s the creativity where’s the quality where are the goals going to come from and there was something missing from the team and I think odard being back helps him I think the likes of rice and sacka being rested during the international break has of course helped Arsenal but there’s a player I want to shout out tonight before I forget and that’s Thomas parte but who was excellent tonight but Thomas parte I feel when he came back into the Arsenal team he looked a little leggy like he maybe lost a yard but he really seems to have found the form that we saw early in his Arsenal career what we saw at Atletico Madrid I thought he was excellent tonight in that Midfield three with odard and Dean rice and they were just absolutely on point tonight Arsenal in every single facet and I will say it tonight was scary tonight was potent from Arsenal they go three and0 up before halftime from a set piece maybe their most famous goals in the AR era it’s 3-0 and you think it is game set match is done it’s dusted but do you know what I think the start of that second half sporting were like a freight train they got an early Corner a bit of poor defending I felt from Arsenal they can seeed a goal and although Arsenal would want the shut out they would want the clean sheet you then heard the crowd get up away from home results like tonight coming through that moment of adversity regrouping as a team becoming hard to break down pocketing a brilliant striker in your and then going on to score two more goals is the type of performance that right now doesn’t guarantee winning a champions league but it goes a long way to building the confidence in these Arsenal players that they can go away from home and they can get very positive results they don’t have to crumble in moments of adversity it was you compare it to City’s last two Champions League games dominated both of them conceded and Fallen apart it’s almost like Arsenal and City have traded places in Europe in the last last two matches and I think for Arsenal fans although you don’t want to concede going through that 10 15 minutes of adversity and coming out on top dominating the game afterwards scoring a goal scoring two more goals I would say opening up sport him I think it’s going to go much is much better for you as a team than I think just scoring two more goals and going through no adversity I think it demonstrates a real strength within the Arsenal team defensively it was Majestic yes sporting look sporting always score so yes you people can find clips of a fullback got T taken on here and oh you know you kessi got the better review in this duel but by and large it was an absolutely brilliant performance from Arsenal defensively they look very strong indeed and they’ve got to grow from this point as a European entity they do but it demonstrated how good this Arsenal team is said a few weeks ago they should be criticized that the fan should be having high standards and demanding more but writing off this season was crazy it’s eight goals in two games since the return of the international break and this Arsenal side I said it already and I’ll say it again is looking scary they’ve got to add in January I think it would be ridiculous not to but this is when they look at their best the way they’ve played in the last two games defensively strong move the ball quickly they press they’re like a pack of hyenas hunting down their prey Relentless in the pursuit of that ball and when they play like this they’re a scary scary outfit indeed and I thought they were excellent tonight as I said party deserves a lot of Praise I also want to shout out Baio Saka the man gets a hell of a lot of criticism so much is undeserved and I’m taking this stat from Liv score so if it’s wrong speak to Liv score but that is 11 goals and assists in 13 Champions League games now for Bayo Saka he’s moving towards a 100% record in the tournament for goals and assists now granted I want to see him just as an Englishman here I want to see him add that in The Knockout stages in in the latter rounds and but the thing is he’s young and he’s got years to to do that but he’s a Champions League player if ever I’ve seen one all Arsenal now need is for their team to mature into a Bonafide Champions League team again because I think there was a period on venger where they really were a Champions League team they did they didn’t just quite win it I think this Arsenal team has the makeup of doing that a bit more work in the transfer window and I’m absolutely sure that they can get that done I really really am and as Chris says here he says everybody what performance everybody take in Red Take a Bow I can’t think of anyone who had a p a bad game that’s also true I’m thinking of who to praise like I haven’t mentioned Martinelli that did excellent for his first goal Kai havs on the score sheet again there was some that was so good I’ve even forgot about those guys but everybody on the pitch tonight was excellent for Arsenal David reyer with two or three excellent saves there’s no doubt he Le the best performance of our season so far use it as a springboard and I would say your last two games have been your best performances and you’re absolutely right and I think the confidence that will be sort of csing through the veins of Arsenal right now as you go into your remaining two games and I’m actually I don’t actually know who your remaining two games are against because I haven’t looked I know a lot of people think I am but I’m not actually a Arsenal fan I’m just a very objective uh football fan uh Arsenal now sit in seventh uh interesting city city were going to go above them when they were Arsenal now sit in the automatic qualifying spots as well on 10 points I’m not too sure who Arsenal playing next I’m just some of you might have already put it into the um into the oh there so there again home to Monaco home to Dynamo Zagreb and then away to Jona for me you win your next two home games you qualify I think you’ll qualify in the top eight if you win your next two home games so Arsenal will put themselves into a commanding position there shouldn’t be a fan of Arsenal whether you love arteta or you think he’s every preor of Under the Sun who shouldn’t be happy with where you currently sit in that League table you can probably win your next two games and maybe even rotate for and by way Jona have not been great in this tournament this year they sit in the bit where they’re going to fall out but wi the next two games and then you know where what you need in that last game and you can maybe rest and it’s important I think to finish in the top eight because those two extra games that you will be able to rest and recuperate maybe even fly out to Dubai for a week who knows get a little bit of warm weather training which I know Arsenal like to do but as I say a top top performance from Arsenal tonight a clinic they put on in Portugal and uh it’s I think the bad form is now behind Arsenal and we could be seeing the scary side of their attack play coming out um let’s have a little look here I’m I’m going to go to the the city stuff I’m fans had to I’ve said all along you got to find a happy medium be annoyed at the performances criticize them and demand more but do it in a supportive way I didn’t feel that hiding away would help I parts of that game I thought City tonight started a little nervy they dominated the ball they were passing it well in the Midfield they would get to the final third and they looked a little bit edgy you could see the weight of five defeats on the bounce five games with no win kind of eating away at them and then they get the penalty and I think they got the penalty for the kick on on harland’s leg not the hand ball some people said it was for the hand ball either way it should have been a penalty because that was a kick on harland’s leg I don’t think it was a gift they score the penalty and then you could see their shoulders dropped and they relaxed a little bit they scored two very quick goals in the second half Harlem getting a brace I think Harlem now moves ahead of in I think it’s 45 games 50 GA in the Champions League he went ahead of a record that Ru vanor had of 50 in 4 no he did in 44 Ru van did it in 45 and they three new up you see the fans buzzing i’ reading some stuff on Twitter and City are saying okay you know this is a step in the right direction a good performance they barely conceded opport I think there one chance finard had in the first half and the game was done and it was dusted the bookmakers would have paid out I think City fans were probably on their way to the chippy Guardiola look relaxed and listen I I do feel their left back I listen gu um guardal is excellent he is a top class player he’s been amazing for City since they signed him but two games running he has made catastrophic absolutely horrendous mistakes when they went when it went 3-1 I’m not too sure exactly what minute of the game that was and I want to make sure I check I had the game down really low at that point because I just thought City had run away with the game there was nothing really to focus on per se and that that goal came in the 75th minute and I thought nothing much of it mistake consolation goal until I saw the camera paner pep now I jokingly earlier on today said that City fans and any Bayern fans and B fans always have that one little meme of Fergie when his hands doing this because he’s just like so frustrated that Pep’s done me again what we got in the previous game against Spurs was Pep scratching his balls on camera so stressed he’s touching his manhood on camera and then when that camera paned to him today you saw that same nervousness his eyes went wide he looked like a a rabbit in headlights suddenly I put the volume back up on the television screen turned down the other games and I tuned in because my gut told me City going to throw this away they are so vulnerable listen I know there are tactic codes that can break down City’s formation and yes there’s individual errors but one of City’s biggest problems at the moment which I don’t think’s been addressed enough yes they have four W are not scoring enough goals in we’re talking not just tonight across the last six games and and the previous poor performances yes rogery is out and their Midfield is a little slow yes they have some defensive issues where people are making mistakes but so much of this is coupled into their mindset and the mind’s gone one of City’s biggest weapons was their sort of invincible nature as a collective they could not be beat and even when they did lose the occasional game or the occasional points they would go on a run break records they were just absolutely formidable and as much as I didn’t like seeing it as a man united fan it’s the reason that I called this side a European great it’s the reason that I said this is one of the greatest English teams of all time why pep in this era I’ve said is by far and away the best manager in the world and all the others are very good I don’t think come close to him at all I really don’t I think they’re amazing there has been no team out of the top six Premier League sides I cover who have received higher praise than Man City from me no one has been given that level of compliment and I’ve done that because I think they’re that good but I say this and I mean it it can be recovered what I’m about to say but mentally they’ve gone they have lost somebody who comes from a fighting background right now it’s not recoverable for Fighters it is for football teams because you buy new people but right now they’ve l lost their punch resistance and you see this with boxers as they get a little bit older they can suddenly start getting you know they could take a massive hit on the jaw suddenly they’re getting jabbed and their legs are going a bit like jelly they look we saw it with Anthony Joshua in his last in his last fight as an example go and watch Amic KH towards the end of his career the legs start to go the punch resistance goes and I watched City tonight and as soon as they conceded I just knew and it was almost they then carried on making mistakes playing with a high line trying to play the offside trap Edison who whenever he rushes off his line always gets it he didn’t and you know why because he hesitated why did he hesitate head’s gone I’ve said it for years and I’ll say it again the mentality of a sportsman sportswoman team manager I think I think it’s about 70 to 80% of the greatness of a team it may be a lower percentage but it’s still significant one and if that goes no amount of coaching no amount of quality no amount of pep talks excuse the pun will ever fix you it it it can’t once that goes what this team needs is surgery it needs some it needs some new players in January of course it needs some individuals to come back into this side and importantly it needs wins wins will breed that back into you can recover it but right now City look an absolute mess this isn’t me throwing shade this isn’t me being disrespectful this isn’t me laughing at them I’m being genuinely honest to my core this is a team in Ser this ain’t a crisis this is serious trouble because there’s always been these debates who’s better pep or Fergie and and I’m being honest with you I I don’t like these debates I I feel like when you start I know that their ear has slightly touched each other but I feel like managers should almost be judged in as I get older I realize you should judge managers within eras because things change right you know the the Premier League now has so much Financial dominance over the rest of Europe which didn’t exist in the 80s and the 90s and and the u0s of course managers now in the Premier League at the biggest teams should have better and thicker squads than their predecessors but they’ve only got that extra money because of what their predecessors built for them in terms of the Premier League as a brand which is why I always feel like you should compartmentalize eras however I I don’t remember remember the last time I saw a defense a team as defending Champions with the same Manager Go unbeaten in six losing five of them and if we’re being really honest unless Liverpool stink the house out on Sunday they are going to lose they’re going to lose six out of seven games and be unbeat and be winless in seven matches for a team at this level whether you’re City United barcel Madrid when you’re at that level going two games without out the win is a bit of a mini crisis 6 to7 this is catastrophic it really is and look I I City fans you can take this as take it as the gospel or you can sound a liar I don’t care I feel for City fans right now I genuinely feel for what they are going through because this is crazy I just don’t remember I’ve seen Arsenal one of the kin go on bad winning runs like but the the the Kine was steadily happening then you got a run like this man united years and years of decline then you get a run like this I don’t remember seeing a team go through this who three months ago was the best in the world it’s it’s it’s amazing and when I say amazing I’m just talking from a sporting perspective just witnessing it is mesmerizing how do they fix it give me your thoughts and feelings in the comments section I think it needs to be in the transfer window I think it needs to be with uh some get some wins under their belt maybe a bit of a system change maybe throw some of the
