now what’s up guys welcome to the postmatch analysis for the match against Atlanta H where do I begin this was a very very nerve-wracking match so to say um I’m first of all just going to say happy with the result that’s you know even when you play not so great the most important thing is that you get a result so I’m very happy with with the result overall um I don’t think the performance was fantastic uh in particular I don’t um yeah it was also due in part due to the fact that you know we are suffering quite a bit from a lot of um injuries this season but it’s also partly because angelotti decided that he needed to rush back a lot of the players that were injured uh venicios Rodrigo sure many included um but at the same time this was the most win match so I kind of understand where he was coming from today uh personally I wouldn’t have taken that risk but I’m just glad that it paid off although one thing that really did annoy me today was just how late the substitutions were for anybody that was watching the match you would you probably realized that the substitutions were really late and when we were 3-1 up that was probably the perfect time to make the substitutions to bring in some fresh uh fresh legs allow them to get up to speed with the pace of the match quicker and then in doing so we probably could have avoided going down to 3-2 but he kind of kept delaying the substitutions and even when he made the substitutions he only brought on two players he brought on modri and brought on he didn’t bring on Gula straight away um Gula came on I can’t remember but yeah he brought on Modric and he brought on somebody else and then he brought on gher after that no I think yeah he brought he brought on renio so the substitutions were very late for me and they didn’t really do much especially because they were so late in terms of helping us maintain the momentum that we gained when we went one up um I was very happy with uh mbappe’s performance today I think he played a lot better than he’s played in recent uh matches and part of the reason why I think he played so much better today was number one he benefited from having venicius beside him I think when Vinnie plays mbappe plays better now that doesn’t mean that he is perfect and he’s clearly somebody else that’s struggling for Fitness but I think when Vinnie plays mbappe plays better but his all his overall game just looked a lot sharper he wasn’t holding on to the ball too long which I was happy to see because I think that’s what’s been killing him in the few matches before this is that he’s trying to do too much he’s trying to take on too much responsibility because he believes that he needs to be the star man he needs to be the main man but it’s actually affecting his game and it’s also then affecting the game of others around him but today he played made the ball a lot quicker you know he let it go when he had to he was working with his team his first touch was good his T the timing of his runs were a lot better and most importantly importantly his finishing was just a lot better so I’m happy to see that um Seas has just really been proving himself that he’s well capable of starting for this team and I’m just really happy to see that even when we have players multiple players injured the players on the bench are able to step up and they’re able to come in and contribute I was really happy with his performance today because he worked tirelessly he was absolutely everywhere his passing was good his um retaining position he was very good um his uh one to overall like just general like passing movement uh chemistry with the other players on the team is very good and I think even though he doesn’t always start he’s someone that is is kind of like a cing presence when he plays because you can kind of give him that ball in dangerous positions and you know he’s going to keep control he either draw a foul or you know it give a good pass back so that’s really good to see I think rud uh I think sorry TR manyi played great as a center back it might be time for him to start reconsidering um maybe transition to the center back position fulltime and I say this because I do think he’s a very good defensive midfielder and I think part of the reason why he’s having a bit of difficulty this season is because uh with the absence of Cruz when Cruz was there Cruz brought a coming presence to our Midfield he gets on the ball gets into position makes face so Tran never had to worry about doing what Tony Cruz did all he had to worry about was giving Cruz protection and he did that job fantastically because his athleticism you know he can cover the ground he can put in a tackle so Cruz could literally just focus on uh creating player even though Cruz was a deep line midfielder he didn’t really he wasn’t really like um a casemiro type of play you know he’s not going to be winning tackles all over the he might win one or two tackles but most of his uh job will be get on the ball be an option for the center backs for people to pass the ball to play them long di uh diagonals through ball and just overall control the tempo of the game so we it’s like everyone is expecting chman to overnight become that kind of player and I think even Cruz even early on in his early on in his career he wasn’t that type of player at least not to the same way it became uh later on in the years because what happens with every player is as the years go by as you get older and the legs start to go the best players become start to adopt a different role to their game because they don’t have the legs and they don’t have the athleticism that they once had when they were younger so I think if chman was to become a center back because I think I I see why angelotti this because tactically what that gives you is not only is he a midfielder that’s very good and with physicality reading the game in Center back but he’s also someone that can help in terms of car uh playing the ball out because because he’s a midfielder he’s technically better on the ball than most center backs would be you know what I mean so it almost works out in a double way as in you’re defensive so you’re good at defending you’re good at tackling and need I remind you there is a player who transition into this role and did it so well and he played for our Arch Rivals Barcelona and that was Javier Masano Masano started out as a cental defensive midfielder and when he came to Barcelona he transitioned into the center back role and he became one of the fiercest uh you know most competitive center backs ever like he was a rock solid Center back ball having the experience playing in the middle of the pack he was also comfortable on the ball especially in the Barcelona team that their whole philosophy and ideology was Tik taka you know pass move pass move Mi space so I think TR manyi he’s going to have competition with with rul aseno with mil milit when he comes back but with David alabat but he’s what he’s got over most of those and even R the guys he’s young you know he’s Young And if he really cements that position that role him and asensio I think that could be their position excuse me for years so you should probably consider that um Vin and Rodrigo you know they had the all right game coming back from injury you know you could tell they were not you know going all out which I understand because you do not want them to be getting injured for a long term you know so it was good for them to ease into the game and and you know just uh good for Vinnie to score the goal Rodrigo was kind of a bit of a passenger you could see even a few of the passes that Vinnie tried today didn’t really work out but they did all right um Ibrahim started off well but then he he lost the ball a bit too much for my liking still a very good player I still rate him but I don’t think he’s really like used this opportunity with the injuries we have to really cemented this claim that he deserves to be starting and I I know he can do I’m tired but yeah I know he can do so much better than he’s doing but he really needs to maybe just just bring it up a little bit because he he can do so much better um overall and Vasquez I don’t I honestly I don’t even want to talk about it look he’s doing his job we’re kind of stuck in that right back position right now everybody knew kav was likely to get another long long-term injury he’s had a few now this is not the first time and Vasquez look as much as I think every attack everything the ghost the scad came down from his side I know TR manyi gave away the penalty and I don’t think that was a penalty like it barely even clipped him like you know and he went down like he got shot by a sniper so the every goal the two goals we considered came from that side many times Vasquez was caught up the pitch and you know you have him against a player like lukman was very tricky very pacy it was a mismatch that was bound to happen you know valde tried to cover Brahim tried to cover many players tried to cover for him and we still considered two goal so I don’t really want to talk too much about him look he’s trying his best it’s not his fault that’s not natural position he’s been asked to do a job he’s doing it as best as he can this is where I miss nacho because nacho Fernandez he might have one or two games where you’re like what the are you doing I want to kill you but in general he was very solid if you pull him right back left back Center back you know Na’s going to do a job this man is going to have to really really really really try to get by by him so not going to talk too much about that Val put in another great performance there not really much I can say about him in the Belling Gam if they’re not playing great but even just in terms of work rate they always put in a ship they always you know they always give you enough to be like you know what yeah you to deserve your starting spot like Bingham will never will never not leave everything out on that pitch him and Val so it’s very difficult to think I’m dismissing them because I’m not talking about them I mean he scored a goal today I think that’s like a goal in his last last six games you know there’s not really much more to say say about him you know and this is what I was saying before it’s like I don’t know what go into angelotti’s head I know you had to fit mbappe into the team but this dude came last season and he proved to you it’s not like he had a season where he scored like five six goals and you’re like yeah I can put you in a deeper role know you he scored over 20 goals and God knows how many assists last season so he’s proed that he can play that position and what did en chelot decide to do play him in a deeper position but now that he’s playing higher up the pitch playing you know in a role that he likes I mean he still tracks back he still does a lot of the donkey work but anchel has managed to find a balance of a balance in the structure where Bingham is able to advance a lot more without constantly having to worry about what’s behind him you know and that’s you know shown in the results is is back scoring goals again and we’re going to need those goals as the season goes on so uh ctoa again ever Reliant maybe should have done better on that near post go but he did go through the keeper leg so uh the player’s leg so it was probably very difficult for him to save but overall he made some great saves that really could have equalized 33 at the end and they probably should have equalized three3 at the end because that was a fantastic chance for that when luk man ad M nja boy he Whi that ball into the box and completely like Beed all our players and this whoever the the captain of um Atlanta was 100% should have put that in the back of the net ball I’m not going to look at give horse in the mou you know I’m just happy with the performance um hopefully mbapp is not out for too long because he also went out injured today but overall just happy to get the win not so happy with the performance our press our press is probably the weakest part of our whole team structure as a whole and you could see it again today we struggled to play out against Atlanta to the point where C multiple time had to just Toof the ball up whereas Atlanta players were comfortably able to get on the ball pass the ball out multiple times against us so our press really needs to improve and I don’t know if angelotti needs to find a coach that’s that specializes in presson because if we can get that one aspect of our game right we are going to take our game to the next level so yeah happy with the win uh happy with the three points hopefully we get through and
