[Music] Texas A&M was vying for its first SEC Championship Game appearance in its 13-year history in the league and Texas ANM much like the SEC itself is a mess on this Saturday night falling on the plains at Auburn 4341 in how many overtimes I believe four what a game this was a classic welcome into the voice of college football appreciate you being here best discussion debate and Analysis check out our SEC channel all right let’s get to this one let’s go straight to overtime 31 all going to overtime so Auburn ripped off 21 straight points to start this game they LED 217 and a half cam Coleman went off uh if you’ve not seen him play this year because Auburn’s been horrible and nobody’s watching play the great freshman receiver they prized recruit seven catches for a buck 28 he is the real deal jiren Thompson with a big pick as well again Auburn raced out 21 nothing it was 217 at half Noah Thomas came back for Texas A&M he had some enormous catches some great plays in the end zone five catches for a buck 24 he went over Kaden Lee on a play that made it 21-4 he also ran a slant in which he burned the corner got him on his back hip then the corner went for the pick dove in front missed the football the safety for Auburn took a bad angle and Thomas was gone and we were tied up 21 all uh Marcel Reed who of course is taken over for Conor Wegman later in the season first took over for wigman earlier in the season when wigman was injured and then wigman got benched uh against LSU and that was the turnaround for the Texas A&M season and The Surge toward positioning for the SEC Championship game and Marcel Reed has been phenomenal uh 297 yards passing 66 rushing in this game but late in the game here Keandre Lambert Smith Auburn’s down 3128 they obviously need a drive Keandre Lambert Smith had a remarkable catch along the sideline and I know that the replay was not definitive but if you check out the feed inbounds and where the ball was and you’d see from the other angle if you piece together the two angles I believe that you get a fairly definitive view that Keandre Lambert Smith with a buck 50 left in the game did catch the football they did not give it to him actually Auburn got ripped off a few times late in this game cam Coleman the next very next play sprinted down the field and uh pton Thorne could have lobbed it up to him for a game win winning touchdown but he did not see him pton Thorne though for all the ridicule for all that he’s taken by Auburn fans and college football media and fans in general uh gutted this one out fourth and two scramble to get the first down and keep hopes alive then on first and goal with all the issues that Auburn had they should have been able to score the game-winning touchdown they had it first and goal inside the five but they had a fallar penalty they had really strange play call in down there as well they ended up kicking a field goal and that is no small feat for Auburn football this year eight of 17 coming into the game missing nine field goals less than 50% but they kick this one to tie the game 31 all from 29 yards out now let’s go to overtime Juday walker uh remarkable play to drag to Auburn uh Defenders into the end zone starting from the 25 yard line so Texas A&M strikes first 3831 but jarquez hunter one of the best backs in the SEC he’s been around for seemingly at this point forever he’s been playing for Auburn but he is still around and they are so glad that he is and one of the guys that uh is a better player than people know about again because Auburn’s awful and have been now for several years but jerz hunter one of the best backs you will find he takes it in for a touchdown so we’re tied and and then Auburn really got into a bad situation here and the officials screwed them on two consecutive plays kandre Lambert Smith going to the end zone clearly held just held by his collar by the defender the defender basically gave up on the play knew that he was burned and grabbed onto him assuming that the call was coming it did not come the other Auburn receiver was was coming across the formation number 133 he was coming across the field into traffic did not pick anyone at all and he was called for a pick play and so he’s called for offensive pass interference this throws Auburn back so two consecutive calls one they should have gotten the other called against them Hugh FES is going crazy and they got to kick a long field goal so this kicker freshman was not the field goal kicker until this year three of four uh so he’s obviously taking over for the other field goal kicker who was much worse so three out of four nine of 17 he was like six of 14 or something like that they nail it from 43 yards longest kick of his career with the game on the line so he he gives Auburn the lead at 4138 all right two straight tackles for loss by Auburn their defense is in a bad position obviously they can’t give up the touchdown because they’re protecting a three-point lead in overtime Texas A&M actually has one of the better field goal kickers in college football but Jayla McLoud with the two tfls forc Texas A&M into the field goal to make it 41 all okay so now we’re in the next overtime which is the simple you just run the two-point conversion plays from the 2 and 1/2 yard line and that’s all it is final overtime Keandre Lambert Smith look up the play great hands catch in the back of the end zone fighting a Defender who’s draped all over him hands catch 4341 then Texas cm and uh their offensive coordinator Colin Clin one of the upand comers in college coaching of course calls up a great play that brings the wide receiver around who might have been Reed actually uh they might have had the back take the direct snap and then Mar Reed and he throws it to Amari Daniels in the end zone only problem drop the football Amari Daniels an excellent player a running back drops the football in the end zone and the place goes crazy and Auburn wins to go to five and six but the important thing is Texas A&M in the SEC standings we’ll take a look right now at the SEC standings all right Texas B Kentucky today they are the only team with one loss in the SEC at 6-1 they have their final SEC game against Texas on the road Georgia 6 and2 they’re in the clubhouse they got Georgia Tech outside the conference next weekend Tennessee plays Vandy they’re 5-2 Texas A&M now 5-2 with this loss of course they’ve got the game against Texas South Carolina at five and three so it’s the four top teams there that matter when it comes to the SEC Championship game so there’s a number of things that could happen there some are very clearcut Texas obviously controls its own destiny the others could become quite involved so we’ll go through it this week right here at the voice of college football but Auburn on the planes gets a huge win for Hugh F maybe his biggest win on the planes even though they’re way out of any kind of Championship consideration just trying to get to a bowl game with an upset of Alabama but this about the Texas A&M loss and the SEC situation going into rivalry weekend we will explain it all go through the tiebreakers all of it and of course there are huge college football playoff implications here as well as now we possibly have three lost teams who are factoring into the playoff comments and questions below right here at the voice of college football
