Auburn and Iowa State let’s talk some about this game uh as well that is going to be played in Maui this afternoon and and this evening us time Iowa State favored by four 146 and A5 in this one we’ve already seen the Auburn win over Houston on the neutral floor Corby I know you have talked a lot in the past about Iowa State uh as well all right start us off on the discussion here uh with this one I’m curious what we think about Auburn and Iowa State Corby yeah I talked about Iowa State a few years back uh at this point it’s a completely different team coach has finally got his regimen in I think it’s a good team like uh to to to hold what I said about Iowa state three years ago it’s a completely different Squad from this standpoint like a few things first off I just talked about these totals like it I’m actually right at 146 which is interesting um due to the fact that it is a home court or a neutral Court that’s going to be tough to project a total which makes me lean more towards an over here um and then looking at these two teams and over just kind of smells awful I I think this Auburn team’s probably one of the best teams in the nation don’t think that’s a far stretch to say after what we’ve seen them do two good teams um but they’re going to get a completely different look in Iowa State this isn’t a team that they prep for a ton this is a a spot where um if you’re going to be sleepy and you got the draw of Iowa State going into a neutral Court this is a pretty tough draw I would lean first half Iowa State I think full game like this Auburn team’s just super talented like having Miles Kelly able to be a starter or a seventh man is ridiculous they have the guards to push against anybody on Iowa State um do they try to push Pace that’s kind of the worry here I I don’t think so so though I lean in over I would it would probably be like one of those weird uh if you could do like how you do in baseball first half full game Iowa state in the first half makes a ton of sense just from a logic standpoint uh inevitably I think over time Auburn wins this game out all right Jeff na this will be up tonight um in the uh in the action in Maui at 9 Eastern for local time and as as Corby was making mention of the not much competition here for Iowa State playing Mississippi Valley Kansas City and the newly renamed IU Indiana what used to be IUPUI big step up here to play against Auburn thoughts Jeff what do you think I talked about this last year anytime um you play I with state I’m always interested in seeing if you played Houston and how did you do in that game because Houston and Iowa State are very similar teams defensively they’re really going to deny the post they want you to kind of shoot from the perimeter Auburn did a nice job they won the game by five as we know that said though they only shot 30% from three they got nothing from their starting five it was really toad pedford who who came in and gave them a bunch of minutes um they didn’t play real well particularly from a positional stand stand point from each kid outside Janai broom and still found a way to win that’s extremely impressive I kind of look at Iowa State as kind of a um I’m not going to say a poor man’s Houston but they’re a slightly worse Houston let’s just say that um I think Auburn has the horses to to to coexist that they can hit from the perimeter I just think Auburn’s the best team in the country I I don’t think Iowa State can match up with them uh one to five I think they’re just a better team than Iowa State the numberers about right but I’d always lean on Auburn here they’ve just seem like a very tough team to crack they don’t really do anything wrong and Auburn has beaten a team that is very similar to Iowa State already um so I lean Houston or Houston Auburn uh minus Auburn Auburn since that Houston game beat Kent State scoring 79 points they then scored 102 on North Alabama Corby weren’t we talking about that’s the game where Janai broom had like 30 and had like 19 rebounds and North Alabama didn’t have any size from both of you does Iowa have the size to maybe you know hang with them on the glass and give them some problems thoughts either of you at minimum at minimum they have the physicality like the issue with North Alabama is they don’t even have like the strength like we see Houston Houston’s never had the size but uh at least they can push him around into a good game I think iow state has the scrappiness to at least keep him out like the north Alabama issue was like I mean 67 and 205 Goa Jeff anything else there on Iowa State matching up physically yeah I I definitely think that they’ll be fine I mean they have a bunch of kids that are really good and look I mentioned one of the big offseason acquisitions is uh Josh Jefferson they brought in Josh Jefferson played at St Mary’s he was injured most of the season last year but St Mary’s season took a bit of a turn when he was ruled out early February he was just kind of a Do-it all Wing 69 610 big kid he’s a big time rebound already 52nd nationally in defensive rebounding percentage a player like that in this game could be the extra to keep you in this game um I put this number three and a half I think four is fair um I’m not looking to fate Alburn I’m just not all right good discussion on this game again it is tonight in the night session in Hawaii I believe ESPNU has it because of all the chaos with money Night Football and other stuff that’s going on uh tonight it is the first of the two games on the floor tonight us time Eastern time at 9 it’s
