Juan Soto Contract has sparked a lot of debate over the deferred contracts, especially when it comes to Shohei Ohtani. However, this is nothing new to baseball, and fans are misplacing their outrage. Every team can do the same!!!

with wano’s free agency looming all around baseball right now there has been a lot of discussion around the Deferred contract a lot of people just really upset how the Dodger structured otani’s contract but that’s nothing new to baseball obviously a lot of people go back to the Bobby Bona and the New York Mets contract that they’re still paying off to this day but there is actually a laundry list of players right now that have deferred contracts rafhael Des Chris Sail Mookie Betts Freddy man Christian Yelich Francisco Lindor Edwin Diaz and that’s just the name a few I’ll use Raphael de as an example when he signed with Boston he got a $20 million signing bonus his total contract value is$ 3113 million over 10 years however 75 million of that is deferred he will be getting paid 3.75 million starting in the year 2034 through 2043 on the 1st of February every single year and here with the Dodgers again mooki bets a total salary of 365 million over 12 years with 115 million of that being deferred starting in the year 2033 boot boots mooki bets will make 8 million to 11 million until the year 2044 Lindor of the mets has 50 million deferred of his contract but people like to say well endorsement deals they make a ton off endorsement deals yes they do for you and I making $34 million a year is a ton but the truth is outside of show Otani who makes $60 million a year from endorsements no other player is even making 10 Bryce Harper makes 7 million a year from endorsements Aaron judge makes six Yamamoto makes five Mike Trout makes five and as of right now Juan stto makes 3 million a year from endorsements but like I said for you and I that’s a shitload of money and it’s crazy beyond belief that you could take the five six top other best players in baseball combine their endorsement deals and it still won’t even come close to Otani and I’m a Yankees fan and I’m beyond frustrated seeing all the hate going to the Dodgers for making deals like this when every single team and every single owner has the ability to make these kind of offers to players it’s up to them to use their brain a little bit that’s just my opinion what do you guys think about the Deferred contracts in baseball let’s have a talk about it this is Darren with gr baseball and I’ll talk to you guys later oh and Happy thanks giving everyone [Music]
