there was a ton of rumors coming out of left field right field center field behind the plate there were rumors coming out of everywhere that W’s going to the Red Sox W’s going to the Dodgers W’s going to the Mets w got off from this team mode they got off from that team it was insane but all we know is that he has not signed anywhere yet and the terms of the deals are all speculatory right now but we’re going to look at it anyways and just get up to date with the latest that’s going on around him and of course the big signing that just happened half an hour before this live stream you got Willie Adamas going over to the San Francisco Giants a player that I think we all could agree that we were probably looking at as maybe a future replacement for bashed at the shortstop position but nonetheless he is a giant but we’re going to get into all that and more I’m your host ad padle and I’m your host Nicholas playlog and wouldn’t it just be great if tonight live on this channel the Toronto Blue Jays decide to do something big and stupid that’s what they’re rumored to be doing right I mean this is what all the Insiders are saying we’re going to do something big and we’re going to do something stupid woto whilst maybe not stupid is certainly very very big and it would be awesome if when when we get the update especially if he was going to the Toronto Blue Jays we were live on just got the adamus update it does feel like now some of those other dominoes are starting to go which is a little bit scary because one of the big things that a lot of torono blue jays fans are worried about myself includ it is okay you know you are all in on the WAN sto stuff which is totally fair totally T going the of totally that you would be all in however that was a very elite player and like you said could have been a target for the Toronto Blue Jays that is now no longer available right you saw Blake snail go several days ago don’t necessarily know if he was going to be you know ever going to be a Toronto Blue J but that’s just one more starting pitcher that’s really really good and now one more position player that is off the board Tonto blue J is not going to be able to get one of those guys which means that you know the pet Alonzo and the bregman going to be that much tougher to get when they do decide to Pivot over to those guys yeah exactly once stto goes all the teams that missed out on stto are going to go to those guys like you’re saying and now there’s one less guy so it’s got a lot more competition going on here and it’s going to have to take the Blue Jays to continue to be stupid to overpay for those guys overpaying for those guys might get a little bit scary but I’m going to flash over here right now to the Jeff pass and tweet and this is why it’s also scary for me right now like Soto hasn’t sign but he’s hopefully going to sign soon but the longer it takes maybe more guys leave the board cuz you have the San Francisco Giants were never really a strong Contender at all in the wota sweep Stakes for the last month and then you also have the Dodgers they were there in the wota sweep Stakes but we all kind of knew like they were going to fall out pretty quick and they got their guy in Blake Snell so you’re seeing these other teams that still want to be competitive and have the money to spend spending the money and going to get their guys so that makes me a little concerned that it’s going to be a very tough pivot for the blue J well and I I said this yester yester right we were y or live last night discussing some of the most recent reports that were going on and I was saying look if I’m a team that is not one of the five squads in on Juan stto being the LA Dodgers the Toronto Blue Jays Boston Red Sox Mets and Yankees if I am a MLB team that is not one of those five then I’m doing exactly what the San Francisco Giants just did no one well maybe not nobody but fewer individuals are giving Willie adamus their full attention right now which is you know just ultimately going to be better for you right you get you get that guy effectively to yourself for a little while while these other big Market teams are looking at wodo and if you make the offer good enough then maybe just maybe you’ll luck out and he’ll sign it right there and then which is exactly what happened so honestly tip of the cap to those San Francisco Giants for uh for doing honestly what I kind of wish the Toronto Blue Chase would start doing as well sh and thank you to the person that just subscribed by the way guys if you haven’t kind of turned down that $160 million offer right um and you know you get that offer in and okay it’s it’s early on this felt right this felt like what market value was going to be uh it’s still a lot of money you know a lot of money for a guy who is you know going to be turning well actually he’s still only 29 so [ __ ] I mean like that is pretty good uh but yeah I mean it is still a lot of money however I would have been more than comfortable if of course the Toronto Blue Jays decided to do it or or honestly any team like I think this is a good pay by the San Francisco Giants who for a while now have been needing a new short stop yeah and they just had their guy Brandon Crawford retire and you know speaking of the Giants we’ll give him a little bit of love here think about that left side of that infield that they’re building right there Matt Chapman they just signed then they got Willie Adamas you know Buster Posey he’s got himself quite the infield moving forward right here you know like that that team’s looking like they’re doing what they need to do to build a competitive team whereas the Blue Jays right now we’re still chasing after Juan stto and just general right now like there’s a lot of stuff we we’re going to get into about Juan sto but there hasn’t been a lot of Juan sto Blue Jays updates of like a massive contract being offered today at all it’s been all the other team and it feels pretty quiet on the Toronto Blue let me ask you though is that because you know the Toronto Blue Jays are not doing a whole lot and Russ Atkins is taking it slow or is that because there is just a a large and inherent bias against the Toronto Blue Jays by some of these American reporters folks I know that you got one piece right there was it Ken Rosenthal that was talking yeah it’s Ken Rosenthal I mean you guys probably saw the Tweet I’ll bring it up right here like I mean we do have a lot of like biased towards our Tron Blue Jays I mean Ken said this this just a random stray out of nowhere uh just clipped out here shout out to Zach right now who clipped this from the Ken’s article you know he’s talking about the New York Yankees might seek the booster offense rather than add to the rotation and then he goes on to talk about like you know rotation players like Burns just out of nowhere saying Burns might not want to join the Tron Blue Jays period at that point the orals would then be up against Boston s San Francisco Giants for rotation guys and I’m like well what what what the hell like where is that coming from where is that coming from just as easily said like legitimately you could have just as easily said um Burns might not want to join the Arizona Diamondbacks you know what I mean like it feels like it just came out of completely left field he might want to join the Blue Jays if they do something dumb and stupid and pay him like 250 you know or like 260 270 you know they he might do that but to go back to your point of like you know is that why we haven’t heard everything I maybe maybe not you know we don’t really know I mean I think everything is kind of keeping it really Hush Hush from the WAN SoDo side of things and I think today with the internet of everyone blowing up and all those you know rumor frenes that were going on it was because people he it’s Saturday people have you know a lot of people aren’t working right now but everyone was like okay like this is the time like we all heard all throughout the week that it was going to happen before the winter meetings the winter meetings are tomorrow so like it’s going to happen now so I think a lot of people were kind of capitalizing on that hype of like everyone’s anticipating something big to happen and not a lot happened but a lot of people that all stuff that did come out were about you know the Red Sox and the Yankees and especially the New York Mets people are talking about the New York Mets quite a lot but that that just answer your question and we will get to all of those updates momentarily but I do need to give a quick shout out here to Rob Wong just while we’re on the Canadian bias topic right here I like this tweet he tweeted this out yesterday I believe it was saying a Juan sto signing in Toronto would truly leave a large percentage of American baseball media in shambles and honestly like the petty part of me dude the petty part of me would love to watch Ken Rosenthal and the lot of them have to report on juano signing to Toronto could you imagine them being like having to justify like they’d probably come out with a take being like this is like again bad for baseball this is not good for the sport like why why would the a a great talent like Juan stto go to a losing team in a in a Canadian team they would never say Canadian team but that’s what they’re implying that’s what they’re thinking yeah not and I hate when they call call like us not a big Market team when we are always in the top 10 payroll the last few years and we have like the fourth largest population in North America what’s what are you talking about and everybody Spotify wrapped has Drake at either number one number two number three you know don’t tell us that we’re is he $730 million good because that is the projected number right now over 15 years let me do the quick maths on this what does that work out to be 730 divided by 15 48.6 million uh year that is American money by the way everybody so that is a that’s like you know what $70 million Canadian in a year a lot of godamn money holy what do you think about this yeah I mean it’s I I always do think that like I I have been thinking that it’s going to be like 7:30 if not more than this like I think it could be 750 easily no problem now the one thing I do want to cautious c um cautious um make aware here is that a lot of people have been kind of coming out and talking about like you know you can’t really trust exactly these numbers we’ve heard numbers like this being projected from this guy before that have not been true so you have to be very careful on like believing this or not however what I can take away from this is yes $730 million could be on the board absolutely and for 15 years absolutely like I think we’re going to see a contract at least 15 years for 750 when when it’s all said and done like if the Mets are offering that the Blue Jays can match that you know well why can’t they you know you can’t really give me a reason why they can’t because they have been willing to go and do crazy and dumb things this offseason so yeah I mean that’s what I make of it what about you um I think that this is like I know that there’s been speculation as to oh is this number real is this number not real I think it’s real um I I think that this is where where it’s all going we are 24 hours away from what is the projected deadline so if we’re going to make it up to that $750 million which everybody’s kind of starting to feel like that’s where it’s going it’s only natural that at this point someone’s going to be at 730 and if anyone’s gonna be there it’s probably Steve Cohen and his goddamn New York Met so I think that this that this offer is accurate I think that if you know I mean like if you’re a if you’re another team right now you got to be kind of [ __ ] bricks because you know it’s like oh man like we are reaching that we’re reaching that uh that ceiling right now I don’t know how much further we can go um so obviously am I concerned about the Toronto Blue Jays being able to match that a little bit because that is a lot of godd damn money but again we’re trying to do something big and we’re trying to do something stupid and paying one guy 7 $150 million even if he is a generational player it is kind of stupid yeah it is I’m going to comment on that in just 750 I I think the the only way the Blue Jays get Wan SoDo now is is $800 million like truly like if the Mets are willing to go 750 and over 730 which could we end up being 750 like yeah the blue JS are going to have to go like like $800 million is that make you now is that get to the point of like where the stupid becomes really stupid to be offering a guy hand her million dollars uh yeah of course um but like it’s I actually heard this I forget who said this but you know one of the one of the big-time insiders said this um and they were like it’s getting to that point now in the negotiations where if you are one of those teams that misses out on woto like and you’re in the race right so let’s say you’re the you’re the Yankees or whoever you’re us and and we miss out on wotto immediately the fan base is going to be like well thank God we didn’t sign that contract it’s it’s it’s at that point where we can all agree it is an overpay it’s too much money for one guy no one guy in I I genuinely believe no one guy in baseball should be getting close to $800 million not even like the only one is maybe shotani because he does something so special that nobody else can do but you know ultimately if you’re getting paid that much money I need to see like 20 War a year and that clearly is never going to happen so yeah no one guy should ever get that that being said though I I still want him you know I mean who’s the highest position player that’s not named you know right now I think it’s Mike Trout still by average annual value I think it’s still Mike Trout or like total total contract like value total contract it might maybe it is Mike Trout like $426 million I think it is it might be just think about that he’s doubling the last position player like and Mike Trout signed around the exact same age and let me ask you this okay let me ask you Mike Trout obviously an incredible baseball player in his own right M the guy’s barely been on the field the last three years you hurt and but but this is the risk that goes along with paying somebody that much money right I think a lot of people kind of look at that contract I actually saw some articles coming out this year being like that Mike Trout contract starting to look pretty bad and from an investment standpoint I get it because you’re paying a lot of money for a return on investment that you were just not getting right now so I think we can all agree that yeah paying one guy that much money there’s more risk than is going to be reward all that being said though if you’re Rogers Communication company and you have billions of dollars to spend [ __ ] do it right I see I thought you were going to go with that difference between Mike Trout and ju so Mike Trout is like an allaround better player than juano was when he signed cuz not only did he have the on base he had the power he had the contact just like Wan sto does but he had the stolen bases he had the great defense like he was a complete five tool player when he first signed that deal and now woto which a lot of people have brought this up like why are people play paying $750 million for a guy who eventually become a DH is it because he’s a great hitter you know and he’s young you know what I mean um yeah it’s it is it’s tough to find the logic there right it is it’s and I do think again I want to be very clear here $700 million or 750 or whatever it is yes it is too much money it it is it’s too much money for one guy even even though he is Juan SoDo and he’s 26 years old and and I do really believe that he is a special special talent it’s too much money with the injury risk and with everything um I think that like the last couple years in MLB especially because you have all of these extremely um you know one rich owners that have kind of taken over you got this new wave of really rich owners Steve Cohen kind of LED that charge but you also saw crazy off Seasons by the LA Dodgers I think that you’ve seen some success in the last couple years of teams going all in like crazy and I’m referring to the Texas Rangers and I’m referring to the LA Dodgers right two two organizations that the off season prior to winning a World Series spent close to billion dollars in the offseason both of them I think the Dodgers were even more than that right and it and it worked so I think that there’s kind of this prevailing wisdom going on right now in the MLB that to win you have to spend like crazy and that’s kind of you know having this you know domino effect where now we’re getting to absurd Amounts is it the right thing to do maybe do I still believe in woto of course it’s it’s a tough thing to navigate man yeah I’d love to see their uh you know their finances and and the logic behind like well if we spend $800 million on Juan stto like we truly believe we can get it all back if we’re a a winning team and we sell jerseys and we Market the crap out of this like if if it works it works you know like and you know who am I to say you that it’s a stupid amount of money if you can pay for it thing right like if you go and you win a World Series how can anybody say otherwise yeah I mean like the up I’m still at 20% dude we like I’ve been kind of living and dying at 20% now for uh a little while and uh and I do think that that is ultimately where I am still um I don’t think I’ve seen enough by like I I expected all this to happen you know I expected the Mets to go crazy with like an insane amount of offer and and we know we always knew it was going to be right you got to do something big and you got to do something stupid and we were saying 750 and it might even have to be an 800 from from Ross Atkins and and Edward Rogers and everything like that if they’re going to go and they’re going to get wotto in Toronto Blue Jays blue so I am still at 20% chance the Toronto Blue Jays can get him if anything I might lower you know some of the other teams and and have the Mets closer to like a 50% chance or something like that yeah like I I I would uh if I were to like update everybody I’m I’m going Mets like 70 no maybe even 75% like I I’m saying like it’s like that good I’m going to drop the Blue Jays down a bit cuz again I am thinking about it if that report is true where it’s 730 million or more for 15 years that the Mets have offered if that report is true then the Blue Jays are going to have to offer $ 800 million or something close to that to make all the challenges that the Blue Jays roster is going to face with no Vlad extension no bow extension being a losing team being in Canada taxes all those obstacles you’re going to have to pay a little more for so so if the Mets are going 750 with the team that went to the NLCS then hell like we’re going to have to half ago now a week and a half ago he comes out he says that Wan sto is in agreement with the Boston Red Sox he’s in agreement a deal has already been done Soto’s coming to Boston he then goes further digs himself a hole and says that Soto is going to be going to Boston in person that weekend that was a week ago and they’re going to be having some big PR stunt they’re going to be filming a video at Fenway Park they’re going to be doing all this [ __ ] and then after even Jeff passon pushes back and several other insiders push back he continues to dig himself into a hole now we’re getting photos of Juan sto like sitting there looking being stressed does this look like a guy that has a decision already done all these Representatives around him no I do not believe so however that being said beyond average Mick is still going after it right now folks what did he have to say today I mean he literally said he reached out to multiple people this morning and I haven’t gotten a response maybe because everyone’s like dude like get out of here which makes me think today is the day everything gets announced it hasn’t been announced so far Earth would that be your your thought process dude like he just he just like [ __ ] like week ago again it’s not frustrating me I’m just like you’re you’re kind of annoying me dude like more than a week ago you said it was going to happen any day hour know you could have very easily you know gone out and said sources have told me stto is coming to Boston a deal is in place as and then just left it at that and then like we’ll see what happens thing um you know but no like you have like Quinn tupled down you’re you’re a captain going down with the ship but I got to respect it uh it doesn’t look good though bro yeah cuz like when you get a report because what he asked was like you know do you get a cut of wano’s pay uh paycheck or wot’s uh contract and he he goes no no I don’t and then he keeps going saying not even a not even 0.1% like nothing come on John and it was like okay like no no I don’t but that that’s what started it all then John started to fume he started to sit on that he continued for a little while then they brought up the urson judge thing being like you know you got that wrong and blah blah blah blah they talked about that and then at one point it just all broke down if you guys haven’t heard the clip go check it out we can’t really play it here but like go check it out he he broke down stormed off the air saying I’m never coming on the show again I can’t believe you’d ever insult my journalistic integrity and he said I can’t believe it then repeated I can’t believe it with a voice crack and left I thought it was uh I genuinely thought it was hilarious I thought it was some of the uh the best reporting that I’ve seen in a while actually um no but seriously uh like the guy in my opinion was pushing it maybe a little bit too I think genuinely it was just like you know he was trying to joke around with hymon and like you know Haymon just like wasn’t in a joking mood like that’s just that’s all it was really like he was just trying to have some fun and clearly like that those things are a sour spot for him especially the arson judge thing like you could tell like he cuz immediately after he heard that it’s like well I’ve gotten uh like hundreds of reports right and you know I I you you know I I I I that was a big mistake for me but you know and just like kept going on and on and on defending himself uh so clearly it was a sore spot for him um but now you know it’s just getting Meed like crazy and then of course there was something online where somebody somebody said like Heyman um did you did you drop the end bomb after after you got off the call to which hymon responded after um and I I don’t know what the hell he was like I don’t know if that’s photoshopped I don’t know what the hell or edited later I don’t know what the hell he was thinking um and then he’s been you know trying for dude uh yeah I would be I mean look at this guy right like last year he batted for 283 with an Ops of 848 he has 2 years left on his contract and I believe it is $38 million total so $19 million per year um yeah I would love a corner outfielder right fielder that can go and hit me some 21 home runs with a lot of slugging and on base yes please like I Cody Bal is a bit more of a risky option because it’s like risky because of the dollar amount that you’re spending on him $27.5 million I think he’s going to get this year there’s a lot of money for a guy with an Ops sub51 like that feels like a a lot of risk we talked about him a lot here but SE Suzuki has only been getting better every single year he’s been in the MLB um which makes sense and he’s 20 oh he’s 30 years old right now 27 he was signed but that’s this one for me if like we’re not going to get santand and we’re not going to get Tas Hernandez you think about the Toronto Blue Jays window where we have one or two years left this is a perfect guy to add to that one or two that two-year window because that’s all he’s GNA we’re going to have him here for I think it’s perfect man now what are we going to give up for that a fact now cuz that’s just what he got let’s say you traded for say Suzuki or something like that they going to pay for that right exactly you’re looking at roughly you know double if not like one and a half times from an average annual value standpoint what soda would be getting so you’re adding on probably 100 to $130 million a year onto your payroll which is a lot and that’s going to way push them over the luxury tax so that’s one reason why and then the second reason why and I want to hear your thoughts on this too the second reason why is it’s really hard to convince six or seven different dudes to all come here you know like yes like like of course that makes sense but you know it’s it’s probably a lot easier to convince one guy than seven different guys all at the same time on maybe that contract is to send them prospects and do we really want to be unloading Prospect bullets on getting rid of Springer or getting Bullpen guys right like you could probably improve the team much better if you unloaded those bullets on Bullpen guys or other areas of your team so yeah I I it’s one of those things you just got to bite the bullet and hopefully you found a way to pay for that like to put it in perspective right now uh apparently I saw an update uh today from the St Louis Cardinals and they were it was talking about the arado stuff and they were saying like hardly anyone’s interested at all uh you know from a monetary standpoint and like I’ll be honest like if I had to pick one or the other I think I I would choose aado over Springer for the remainder of of their careers um and I also saw an update from Chicago Cubs in regards to Cody Bellinger there’s not a whole lot of like interest in that one either so like I’m just like if those guys can’t get moved you’re going to have a really hard time moving George like I I I can’t imagine another player out there that’s getting paid the amount that Springer’s getting paid that is performing the amount that or performing like him it’s like a bias seriously yeah it’s like a Javier bias worse wor yeah like he’s performing way worse and he’s getting paid a lot more for a lot longer so yeah and like would you ever even consider no no I mean even if like even if you paid for all of it I if you paid for all of it I’d have to roster this guy I don’t want to roster him no like like I I would 100% prefer to anything going on with the Corbin Burns or the max Freeds of the world um it was revealed like a couple days prior that the Blue Jays have recently met with Corbin Burns one on one that is a nice update to see I’m very excited about that he is going to cost $250 million or something like that um currently it doesn’t look like there’s anything new on him I think a lot of people are again like focused on the uh the woto stuff but I mean there there was that thing about Ken Roso we said it way earlier way earlier in the live stream so if you’re just coming in now and you missed it I mean Ken Rosenthal gave an update that uh Burns may not want to join the Blue Jays like why though and that is the most like laziest disrespectful backhanded journalism I think I’ve read to this date like you know he’s he’s he’s going into detail about the Mets and the Yankees you know their intentions right um you know if if if the Mets land Soo then the Yankees might want to seek um a boost of their offense rather than add to rotation and then Burns might not want to join the blue jay that means Orioles and Red Sox and and Giants could be in on him it’s like what the hell okay listen like you can feel that way but like give me a reason what’s the reason you know what I mean like is it cuz we’re not good is it cuz he doesn’t like Canada is it because we don’t we’re not going to give him enough very AL East s you know it’s like right now the top three contenders for Max freed are the Toronto Blue Jays they’re the Yankees and they’re the Boston Red Sox right so like that’s good in a sense but also not great because well if we miss out on him do I really want him going to the Yankees no do I really want to go to the Red Sox no especially if one of those teams ends up nagging W stto too no
