how you doing everybody it’s your guy wardy here and we’re doing our latest driving Wy segment no I’m not actually driving right now however we do have Mets news and updates that we have to get into right here right now for our latest big Mets update segment courtesy of an article that came out bright and early this morning from everyone’s favorite reporter depending on who you talk to you either love them or hate them there really is no between and that is from Bob Nightingale of USA Today stating the following regarding Juan soda the Mets Pursuit how the Mets are clearcut the favorite for sodon and services why exactly is that is what we’re going to initially react and recap right here right now along with the starting pitching Market is officially unveiling we’re finding out where some arms are going to land as we found out earlier this morning as well one of the more coveted southpaws in the market and UC Kikuchi is officially on the move so let me see your initial reactions in the comments down below everybody to the latest Onan stto the Mets connection alonga us Kikuchi and I would like to just first briefly touch on the US Kikuchi signing as he signed with the LA Angels that we saw earlier this morning at three years of just over $60 million the reason why I bring this up is because of how this is going to naturally impact the market for sha manah among others and at 21 mil average annual value for three years you say k Kikuchi some people are saying is an overpay I actually love this contract a lot for the angels and this is what I would have certainly done if I was David Stern and the Mets and they had the opportunity to do so Kikuchi had a tremendous second half the season last year in that pitching lab with the Houston Astros and now is going to be a nice formidable option in the middle of that rotation or towards frontlining that rotation there for an angels team where we have no clue what we’re going to get from them in 2025 I won’t be shocked if Kikuchi is traded by the deadline because that just tends to be the tread with this Angels team on always trying to make moves that are better for the club but are lateral at best this was certainly a nice signing and one of the better starting pitchers now off the market so sha Mania who profil is a little bit similar you know as a veteran Southpaw looking for a midterm deal in that 2 to four year range R he’s going to be looking at at least 20 M A after turning down the 21.5 million qualifying offer sent by the Mets over this past month or so but in the case of manah and others I firmly believe that Mania will land in that Taiwan Walker s contract range not far off from Kikuchi as well there and just going to be more so on the term than anything else I think which is what could be least appealing for the Mets I think we all want the Simone Southpaw back in this rotation especially after a guy in us to Kikuchi is no longer on the market yes we would all love a Blake SN to be a saion calber starting this rotation on a shorter term deal that we actually discussed in a video yesterday so check that out everybody in case you haven’t but on the Forefront of what is currently available out there right now The Dominoes have officially started a fall in the pitching Market we can expect more traction and more things to pick up throughout the course of the week now that Kikuchi is officially Landing with the Halos so when it comes to guys in the Walker buer obviously the upper echelons and the max Freeds there the Corbin Burns Etc I think that they may still take some time but on the shorter term deals as well we will hopefully find out as soon as this week more traction on that front so folks let’s get into a bit more here on not only you say Kikuchi but on the big news while you clicked on the video that has everything to do with Wan sto as we mentioned from an article from Bob nyale of USA Today which I’ll have linked Down Below in the description of this video for any of you guys to check out should you have interest in doing so we do know that it’s down to currently a four team Race for woto and his services this is the Toronto Blue Jays which essentially have the entire country of Canada off but who wants it that’s the big question then you get into the big bad New York Yankees trying to bring back their star after what was such a tremendous run for him and the Yankees in 2024 and then we also get into some other guys as well whether that might be the Boston Red Sox who out of nowhere are planning to spend big for at least one headline starter and a Burns or one of the southpaws there and snail or that being in the other one to Max freed we know that they’re going to be heavily active in all the Fran Market one looking at upper eon liers to finally start spending big they’re trying to flex the big guns big time but this is after multiple years for the Red Sox after not spending much the Blue Jays have made more lader moves in years past than anything else even when they’ve tried to upgrade it certainly hasn’t worked in their favor and the Yankees we know are willing to spend but the also have a hard line the in the sand as to how far they’re willing to go that has been deemed by many rival Executives that we have heard across Major League Baseball and this report from Bob nyale and out of those four teams that Mets as we mentioned already are the clear-cut favorites for woto and his Services based on what numerous Executives have La said how they just don’t see a rule where someone is going to go out and be able to outbid Steve Cohen pair that with the Yankees unwillingness to spend as freely as the Mets are knowing they have other aspects of their life that they have to allocate proper dollars to and unlike the Mets where Steve Cohen is willing to spend whatever it takes and then to still properly add around without there really being any true Financial constraints for that matter not nearly to the extent of the Yankees that is why everything is currently lining up in the Mets favor so between Bob nyale between John Haymon between Ken Rosenthal between Jeff pin everyone in the baseball space whether they’re an Insider an analyst or a true reporter has the Mets as a clear-cut favorite for wotto night Andale is Le to State this but this isn’t just his personal belief this is based off of all the executives that he talks to on a daily basis AC cross Major League Baseball and he certainly knows a lot but now let’s talk about other teams are potentially pursuing Juan sto because Mets fans were far from shock to hear this we just actually want to see it come to fruition at this point and then we’ll really get further excited or once we find out as soon as this week as Buster only reported yesterday that we could start to hear contract offers finally being sent out by these respective teams with the hopes that stto Signs by latest winter meetings conclusion there’s a widespread belief uh belief that wano is not going to drag this out nearly as long as what we saw between Harper Machado in the 2019 offseason or even Otani last year knowing how different these markets are and the Dodgers are coming off of a World Series Championship but they aren’t in a desperate need to land Juan stto they would love Juan but at their price and at their comfortability of him knowing that he’d be coming to a team just winning the chip and knowing that he wouldn’t be the number one face North Star there in the case of a team like the Philadelphia Phillies which I do believe they are still going to do their best efforts to try to land stto what we know at this point is that according to Scot Wars himself the Phillies haven’t contacted him once so for any Philly fan out there that Under The Firm belief that w stos a slam dunk guaranteed to land back in n least but with the Phillies I got a bridge silly at this point in time there’s still a ways to go before we even find if the Phillies even find themselves trying to meet with Juan stto because it has yet to happen while the core four teams that we just discussed at minimum have met with Juan sto are seeking his Services rightfully so after what was a tremendous run for him not only 2024 but every single season this is a slam dunk guarantee of a short Fire Hall of Famer and man that’s going to be Bond’s esque there as he gets into his late 30s hopefully steroid use aside and can just be one of the best eyes and one of the best pure hitters Major League Baseball consistently for IT team like the Mets for say the next I don’t know 5 10 15 years whatever the contract stipulation might be what we know what is certain is that the Mets are going to continue to look like a clear-cut favorite until proven otherwise Steve Cohen looks like a man who will not be bested with the dollars that he is willing to spend and then we when we look outside of woto I know a lot of Mets fans have said Wy I don’t want woto cuz that means that we can’t bring back Alonzo that we won’t add to the rotation whoever said that it’s just you guys saying that Steve Cohen and David St have never given us a reason to believe that oh my goodness if we invest over 50 million a and one player in STO for the next decade plus that we can’t properly allocate Elsewhere for the rotation or for Alonzo what was that ever that what was that ever the belief is it a guarantee that the Mets will land all these guys at once no it is not but to suggest that the Mets can bring back Alonzo that they won’t significantly add to their rotation after losing manah canana and srino just absolutely foolish and all I have to say is just wait folks and let it all play out because if everything that I’ve told you and others have told you throughout the months leading up to this point isn’t enough evidence of how we can expect the Mets to operate just wait until you see them actually make the moves themselves then you could properly have your reasoning to say okay you know what I was wrong this and that what what have you what we know is that the Mets and Wan sto this connection will stay consistent the Mets are the clear-cut favorites and when we find out more information on the soda from the Mets pursuing him among other teams should things drastically change we will cover it here in the platform to a as we always do so
