has essentially come and gone let’s now break down what is next for this amazing Mets team cuz in our big Mets update segment we have to Deep dive that yes the Mets may have already found themselves and negotiation with Pete Alonzo and Jose glacius as of yesterday we’re going to get into that reporting along with Roki Sasaki and what are teams trying to do to make sure that they can certainly roll out a red carpet for his Services the mpb Japanese Phenom coming over there that we’re going to see make a decision by January 15th that and more is what we’re going to Deep dive everybody so let me see your initial reactions in the comments down below thank you so much for smashing that like And subscribe onon and also thank you so much for hearing from our amazing sponsor here at bet us that going to unbiasedly bet here on the Oklahoma City Thunder to win outright on the money line atus 225 and the Sacramento canes in their own game at minus 240 that is going to be a $30 parlay that will hopefully win me around $31 so $61 total should both these teams went outright feel free to tell this bet but please know I’m not a sports B an expert just a Die Hard fan that loves to Place daily bets here every day with our amazing sponsor here at bet us so thank you guys so much for hearing from them now top back in this one let’s get into the latest here and I know you guys see the Roki suaki graphic beside me but we’re going to go back to Roki suaki more towards the conclusion of today’s show because that is not going to be the bulk of today’s discussion what is going to be the main bulk of discussion is you guys have been wanting more pet Alonzo news you guys have been wanting anything Mets news related and it appears that we have found that yesterday and shout out to my amazing followers on X for tagging me in this because you guys are the exact reason why I’m able to chop it up on every single topic regarding the Mets as soon as humanly possible because you guys tag me and stuff all the time and we see here just as of yesterday from Moises Fabian and this is translated saying that on the day of Christmas the Mets were in active negotiation with both Pete Alonzo and yes Jose glaus Alonzo right around 85% in negotiation has been done according to Moises here and for those who don’t know Moises Fabian which I’d assume is the vast majority of all you including myself I did a little bit digging but he is actually somewhat reputable reporter that we have seen again another Spanish reporter there that’s coming now and he has broken actually the tasar Hernandez signing news to the uh part me the La daughters an offseason ago back in early January of the same year so if you actually go on his account he has himself re confirmed there for the original source as John Heyman credited him and one thing that I noticed right away about Moises is this is not a guy that’s trying to clickbait anyone nor is he trying to go out of his way to get a boatload of clicks for having all these different sources no he hears the things that he hears and he relays them and they usually don’t pop off too much even when he has seems completely accurate including what i’ imagine be the case in this one because again all the writing has been on the wall this goes back to her content last week on how pet Alonzo returning the Mets feels inevitable and there are a plethora reasons as to why that was after the 24 48 Hours of making said video a solid four or five more potential Alonzo suitors came off the board as they’ve acquired first space options whether they be short-term options the frasia market or trade options like the nailers of the RO that we saw go from the Cleveland Guardians there to the Arizona Diamond Backs but poor bear pet Alonzo where things currently stand on his negotiation it seems is that the Mets and him are both certainly trying to get a deal done obviously this would be fantastic if a deal could get done by the offseason’s end and yes I say this in such high confidence similar to Juan stto where if Alonzo’s now not a met I will be genuinely surprised the way that I was getting to that point with stto with how confident I felt with him throughout the entire negotiation process up until he made his inevitable decision now with the Mets at 76 uh 65 plus million dollars over a 15-year span very exciting stuff but you want to make sure you have Power Protection behind stto immediately for this upcoming year and I know we have toyed endlessly about how Mark Vientos can shift to First bace how you can even put him at DH if you want Alonzo and bregman which I’m in favor of and so are the Mets reportedly they’re actively involved in both bregman and Alonzo’s Market I’m sure we’ll hear more about that later on today as we get into tomorrow but asin’s currently stand Alonzo and his Market they’ve unbelievably shrunk far sh far more shrunk than I think he would have liked certainly Scott Boris and that’s why they’re going to really try to drag this thing out the best way that they can but Alonzo who’s always been this homegrown Talent our true home run Kane after balling out in postseason play for the Mets when they need him too most there are many reasons to believe that both sides would like to rekindle this relationship it’s been widespread reported at this point and there’s even a belief that maybe you can land Alonzo at a lesser contract to what even felt like a team-friendly offer at say four five years $1 120 $125 million now maybe we’re going to reach the three range will opt out after the first and or second year if not all three years or four years of a contract for Alonzo and the Mets can somehow some way land the polar bear at 3 years 90 to 100 million I sure as heck I’m not complaining nor should you guys be either because again it’s immediate investment for the team 2025 while also not hurting your not only financial flexibility not that that means much because the Mets have an abundance of it but more so on roster flexibility so that way they don’t have a aloner commitment to Alonzo if say they do want to go Scorch Earth all out roll at the road carpet for Vladimir agero Jr fellow Dominican Countryman to Juan stto yes I know that he grew up in Canada and there’s a different vibe there with him but there’s still a lot of reasons to believe that Guerrero could be on his way out of Toronto a year from now if he’s not traded prior but in the case of the Mets long-term Vision at first Bas I think that they’re really teetering both the short and longterm aspect of players like Alonzo like Guerrero like other people in the trade market which is why again a 3 four absolute best 5year deal which I’d honestly be a little surprised to see happen for Alonzo happen a lot this including significant options of which that could be added on to another year of said contract because say he hits he hits on these certain amount of accolades that he needs to do throughout the course of the Season either way the Mets will continue to get creative with Alonzo but my confidence really hasn’t wavered for a couple weeks now I initially heading into the off season have more pessimism than optimism that the Mets could bring back Alonzo and stto at the same time and after seeing the negotiation process continue while with stto it became abundantly clear that if the Mets are going to land stto they obviously pitched to him how they want to make this best roster possible every single year while having again flexibility to move around guys and make sure that they’re not completely stuck on all longterm contracts with everyone outside of stto on the roster but that’s where Alonzo comes into play because even with the down numbers this past season the regular season you’re still guaranteed 40 plus home runs 100 plus RBI pretty much every year out of Alonzo and even with the defense being separ at times which it certainly can be it can also be very Superior at times as he lays out the bot the base running can be jaal and hi high he can be great one way and he can be terrible another so while there are uncertainties with Alonzo and other facets of his game we know what he is at bare minimum and at maximum we know that too and those are all things I think would be great in the heart this Mets La batting forth yet again this time behind potentially yes Juan stto Francisco Lindor and others that would only do wonders for this Mets L it would make them automatically 10 times better for next season you add an eight War player in stto who can’t play defense well and now you add an Alonzo for another hopefully at least 2025 if not multiple years for the power implementation it’ll be interesting to see if this is really at 85% negotiation the way that Moises has alluded to here from his tweet but I will give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise if we find out that Alonzo makes his decision by time we reach New Year or right around that range I’d say that yeah this is probably right in line with what Moes was saying I expect active negotiation even during the holiday to an extent because holiday festivities are certainly a busy and important aspect of the day with family loved ones but especially when you’re in a heavy negotiation with something like this it could certainly make things change as time goes on especially in the case of Alonzo and the Mets in the urgency to get a deal done here so we’ll find out what happens with Alonzo folks but as we do all offseason where we cover everything with the Mets we’ll cover to a te what is next for him when we find out more and hopefully when he’s inevitably making his return here to Flushing Queens with the Mets but now guys let’s go from Alonzo to talk about another guy that I’m really excited about and that is Jose glacius you know this is a guy that I wanted uh sh shed some light on because when we think of Jose glacius and his impact this past season this is directly in with why I’ve told each and every one of you the thousands of you who have watched my content throughout the course of the Year heading into this offseason that it feels inevitable that the Mets will bring back Jose glais I said for the bench I fully expect them to bring back a glais and what will inevitably be a lesser role throughout the course of 2025 but that’s because he is the perfect and the most Prime Mentor for the guys in louisan hunia Ronnie Mauricio jet Williams you name it there is no one that as a more selfless individual and a more perfect prime example on how to go about your day-by-day game than Jose glacius was for the Mets this past season the veteran infielder in half season with the Mets put up tremendous numbers again in a half season campaign Jose gla’s put up some of the best second baseman numbers in Mets history we’re looking at a career high for Jose glaus there that we saw with a 2.5 War a plus offensive and defensive player something that he’s never been to the same value War wise in wi’s above replacement at any other point in his decade Plus long career a 137 WRC plus which means he’s roughly 40% better than the average batter in baseball all while only having 26 RBI and 39 runs scored if you would have told me again before we get these numbers again Wy how many RBI did Jose glacias have for the Mets last season I would have said at least 40 45 but the guy only had 26 but that’s how much of an immediate impact he made a two a 337 average or 38 81 on Bas percentage of 448 slug which was tremendous and mind you Jose GLA peripherals were 10 times better listen the the baseball Savant numbers aren’t anything overly sexy so I’m not here to put them on a complete pedestal but that’s not what you’re getting and Jose glacies you’re not looking at the guy that’s going to have every single area where he’s in the 100 percentile but that just shows you again not a hard hitter as well but tremendous in the whip percentage and K percentage and the expected batting average a truly Elite contact hitter more of an anomaly in today’s game because they are becoming lesser and lesser in today’s game when you want more Gap to Gap power headers a gla’s ability to go Gap to gap for the Mets well that we saw in stretches either down the first Baseline down the third baseline or going Gap to Gap in general was tremendous for his extra base hitting but when we look at the split numbers here for Jose glaes folks versus left-handed pitching this past season alone is why you got to bring him back a 402 average a 455 on Bas percentage and a 999 Ops and against righties a 303 average and a 741 Ops so it’s not even like he’s a liability against ready versus Lefty but clearly if you’re going to platoon him against lefties that way you could platoon him with the on hunia with Jeff McNeil if he’s not going to be traded with Ronnie Mauricio with Chet Williams at times based on matchups you can do that while kind of slowly but truly easing the way in for these younger higher upside prospects that the Mets have that we just alluded to each and every one of them now folks now as we get into the other key splits that definitely s out to me a lot about Jose glazes we have to take a look here at the two out heading this is all per baseball reference a 390 average with two outs last season at a 959 Ops that is what we call a dog Just Like Jesse Winker in our live stream that we did a couple days ago as we highlighted how tremendous his numbers were two out High leverage scoring position situations exactly when you need a guy to step up Jose glacius is as clutch as a come in Major League Baseball runners in scoring position in general this past season right a 375 average and a 902 Ops with men on base in general even if they’re not runners in scoring position so say just Runners at first base a 342 average and 812 Ops Jose glacius came in here with as selfless and as humble as one can be did exactly what the Mets asked and brought us a rally cry in the most OMG oh my God I can’t sing the song so I’m not going to try but the best hit imaginable that the entire team rallied around from manah to sevy to everyone involved in this organization they were really letting it loose and having so much fun with it we saw it as well in different family eventss even at sha mani’s wedding there post fting we saw them celebrate and dance to OMG Jose song which he was attendant when uh Francisco Andor one of his daughters had her birthday a post uh postseason for the Mets we saw Jose glacius Jesse Winker there and they were dancing to OMG as well I love the Titan family unit aspect of the metsa built thanks to Cohen thanks to Sterns thanks to Mendoza and glacius is such a key part of this family that even with him being here for a short period of time he needs to be back at minimum for 2025 not only the player that you’re getting on the field which is a tremendous web gem a guy that still absolutely mind blows me how good he is defensively when I’ve had some criticisms with his defensive game up until he broke out with the Mets the season because the hands have been there but the legs at times have been two steps behind he’s been a little lackluster for the most part Jose glacius after first getting adjusted because I remember his first game with the Mets he had a couple you know really head heads scratching errors there that we saw at second base I’m like all right this is exactly what we were expected to get then he got on a Groove and the rest is history paired with Lindor as well wherever you’re gonna play glacius he plays strong strong defense he gives it his all a th% and one it goes to two out Runners a scoring position hitting say in the ninth inning when you need that final big hit he is bolting down the first Baseline and make sure that he gets on there with an infield single or an RBI whatever it may be Jose glacies is just everything that you would want from a championship cowbo organization you need the top guys you need the stos you need the lindors you need the Alonzo you need the Vientos but you need the guys that have the prime balance of tremendous offbench options and a glacies but tremendous characters that really help the development of the younger players and keep the clubhouse afloat throughout the course of the 162 Jose glacius I can go on and on by saying how much I love you but simply put come back to the Mets that’s why you’re negotiating with them right now that’s why I cannot wait to hopefully see you back in Queens and really work with these youngsters that I mentioned to see how much that they can continue to build their game thanks to a great mentor in yourself Jose glacius we love you bringing back in Queens baby I think that goes without saying now let’s pull up and I also apologize in advance if I don’t pull up these stats right away they not might not pull up the way that I want them too I know I have them looming around here somewhere there they are those are the Roki Sasaki numbers folks so before we get into Roki let me know your biggest Takeaway on the Mets apparently negotiating with both Jose glacius and yes Pete Alonzo for the 2025 season are you for or against both of them returning the Mets would you like one or the other how do you guys feel on the latest with Alonzo and his sweep staks Jose glaz is now finally linked with the Mets I told you guys it would inevitably happen more as especially as more dominoes come off the board and both a glacius and Winker like are two guys that I would absolutely love to see back with this Mets team even if the fit isn’t necessarily the best based on position if it’s something that can be had then I would absolutely love to see that happen for the sake of the Vibes and also for the runners and scoring position aspect trying to be clutch not that 2024 defines everything that 2025 will be but I do definitely can see some things carrying over from this past season into this new regime a new realm rather with Juan so to lean the way and it’s all great things so now folks let’s get into Roki Sasaki because as we see here from MLB trade rumors uh back just a couple days a go suaki won’t meet what every team that sent him a pitch including the Philadelphia Phillies let’s not forget yes RI as of now is on record having said no we’re not giving you a seat at the table that being the Philadelphia Phillies he has given a seat though to a pleora of teams including the Seattle Mariners the Chicago Cubs the Texas Rangers apparently the San Francisco Giants the New York Mets the New York Yankees which he met with both teams the same day among others so needless to say a lot of teams want rookie saki calling me shocked it’s almost like he’s a dominant young japanes Japanese Phenom with the numbers you see down below that could be an absolute horse of an ace in your rotation for the next 10 to 15 years that is why there’s so much at state care Roki Sasaki because the Mets have already essentially rounded out the rotation but if you Lan aaki that makes him have what is on the Forefront a solid rotation to them being a clear one of the better ones in all the national league by Lanny suaki now Mets have naturally an uphill battle to lroi based on of potential buys to the dotters the Padre’s what have you but there are a lot of things in their favor as we see I believe either from mlb.com or the athletic a breakdown as to what teams are preparing for and how to really give their best pitch Roki Sasaki these are the following things that they take into consideration I would like to highlight with each and every one of you because I find myself under the same common consensus as other others on X have which is the following these are all criteria that I feel like fit the Mets more than most if not all and they certainly fit better than a Major League Baseball when recruiting to saki here are some important factors that teams will prioritize the major league team chances of winning in the short and long term I really like the Mets odds of at least doing their best to get there even if it means that they don’t have the best on paper because it’s hard to Trump what the daughters currently have among others in Major League Baseball but yes every single year the Mets will be competing for a championship both short and long term strengthen the farm system for promoting players and or acquiring players via trades the Mets have done a great job there in building the farm over the past couple years I will say that they did have some regression in triaa especially with certain uh pitching and offensive Talent that they would have liked to see break out a little bit more than they saw mainly because of injuries as well but the Mets are still very much in a strong position when looking at the farm in comparison to what they were will Pon regime Financial Resources to be competitive at at all levels Mets have more financial resources than any other team in major league baseball the pitching room including the veteran pitchers on their staff as well as their pitching coaches that he’d work with also the plan they have for in place for him to get him better uh right away and that’s where the Mets probably are better than if not all major league teams and close to because you have kodai senga who can help you get comfortably adjusted from one veteran mpb pitcher to now a youngster and Roki Sasaki both who have went through the same exact experiences in that scent but kodai who’s like a decade older a lot more experienced under his belt can get him comfortable there and Flushing Queens uh get everything adjusted with not only his playing career but also his day-to-day living life there as now a Japanese player entering the states for the first time consistently as a professional ball player then you added the wide widespread reports that we got over the past couple weeks that sasaki’s camp is very impressed with the Mets and their pitching coach and Jeremy Hefner their entire pitching lab that they have from Port St Lucy up and everything that they’re currently working with there to get the best out of their pitching we saw that in strides with sha manai and L sevino this past season we we will continue to see that year in and year out when looking at pitching development and making proper inseason adjustments there are very few teams that have more ADV Advanced information if any team than what the Mets now have with what they built there with their essentially their own Drive Line where they we don’t have to seek external sources we have everything inous ourselves to use this new found information and then as the season goes on to make these proper adjustments that Jeremy Hefner that Desi Drew school will talk to these pitchers one-on-one with to get the best out of them that’s certainly is something I feel very good and very confident with as a Mets fan when looking at the lab the analytics and Technology the organization will make available to maximiz his talents again goes directly in hand with the other Mets have more money more financial resources and have invested so much over the past four years into these specific areas from what was a night and day difference now during their time in the wool ponds uh geography selling the home City from its culture to restaurants I mean listen I don’t think that there’s too much you need to sell on the Big Apple New York in general uh you can definitely sell on the fact that he would build a tremendous Market there and Flushing Queens and I understand that’s not like everyone that lives in Flushing is of Japanese descent so I’m not trying to lump if say you are um if say you were Chinese if say you were a Taiwanese or whatever you may be I understand that they are not the same thing but I also understand that there is a great influx of Japanese people in general there in New York and I also understand that there is a great Vibe and a great movement that happens when kodai Singa is on the mount I can tell you firsthand every kodai Singa start I’ve attended I attended a lot of his and his Sayan calber year in 2023 you cly saw a difference in these fan appreciation there was a heavier influx of Japanese fans from what I saw they went out of their way to see and seeka starts each time I’d imagine that to be similar but to a greater magnitude now with RI saki along with all you know fans of whoever you’re whatever you’re backing is whether you’re Spanish whether you’re you know you’re Caucasian like myself whether you are different Asian descent it doesn’t matter all in all this Mets team has brought so many different cultural backgrounds together and that’s one of the many aspects of sports that I love so much it really is cool to see how that works and how we can all come together especially for this and group together even with having different cultural backgrounds of mod other fans I think the Mets really have a step ahead than some other teams of Major League Baseball and how to handle that cultural difference that cultural diversity you’d have to imagine that Alex Cohen Steve Cohen the entire Cohen family have a strong hold on that from their experience with s and everything that they deal with in the day-to-day life there as New Yorkers so now going from the analytics aspect let’s talk about the translators and support staff the team will provide a help on and off the field again Mets here many other teams down here they’re looking great getting a few of the team leaders to attend recruiting meeting with the owner general manager manager and pitching coaches not a problem for the Mets as well as demonstrating how the organization functions as a family and how they’ll take care of his family no no ownership group has exemplified the family orientation aspect better or more obvious than what Steve Cohen has throughout the past four years so yeah I I’m going to go on a Lim and say that every single box here is checked off by the Met Mets for the most part it’s going to come down to preference we know that the dollars won’t be the biggest xfactor year CU you can only spend seven to Tops $10 million or so if you acquire a couple more bonus pool Millions from teams willing to trade North to 60% of their pool for the 2025 IFA period outside that though that’s all I got folks I’m feeling very good about the Mets chances and not only Lany rooki saki as a team that isn’t on the west coast I feel really good about pet Alonzo I feel really good about Jose glaces and I have a level of optimism still for short and Alex bregman all I got to say is I’m very happy to be Mets fan right now I look forward to breaking down more in Mets land on news rumors and everything in between with each and every one you Mets fans thank you guys so much again for watching let us know your big takeaways Down Below on the latest latest with Alonzo a glaus and now here in Roki saki until then everybody I hope you have a tremendous rest of your night Day evening whatever you’re watching be on the lookout daily Mets content is back at it now that the holiday has come to an end at least for me and I look forward to Rolling Out All Things Mets all offseason long for you amazing Mets fans peace out folks let’s go Mets baby
