welcome back to another episode of rock boys football it is it’s about to get real over the next couple of weeks I mean the transfer portal hasn’t even officially opened up yet and you’re starting to see some really intriguing names announced that they will be entering in want to take a look at I think eight of my I would say biggest but also more intriguing names that we’re going to see in the transfer portal over the next couple of weeks and I think most importantly let it fly in the comment section there are going to be a ton of names that are kind of piling up over the next couple of weeks we’re going to you know kind of update this list as it goes along but would love to hear some names from y’all in the comment section if you guys do enjoy the content consider subscribing to the into this one let’s get into I think one of the best players that we’re going to see in the transfer portal really one of the better players that we see in all of college football Casey concepion at NC Statewide receiver that not as productive in 2024 and I think that had a lot to do with Grayson McCall getting hurt starting a true freshman at quarterback and CJ Bailey who I like but this offense really couldn’t find its form go back to 2023 with Casey concepion as a true freshman he was pretty much single-handedly NC State’s offense you know he led them by a landslide in Target share he led them in a Landslide by receiving yards even as a wide receiver he also LED them in rushing yards like they were just doing everything they could to get this kid to football because he was really that singular playmaker for NC State in 2023 as a true freshman what he does exceptionally well is just when he has the football in his hands he’s so Dynamic and he’s one of those guys where it’s just it’s really easy to get him involved if you are an offense and I’m a Michigan fan so K KC conception would be one of those guys we’re looking at if you’re an offense that’s lacking some difference Mak you know lacking some Playmakers guys that can make gamechanging plays K KC concepion would be kind of the top of your wish list because he can do a lot of different things you go back to the freshman year true freshman year 71 catches 839 receiving yards 10 touchdowns 20 Miss tackles forced as a pass catcher he also let NC State with 320 rushing yards over 500 yards after the catch as a true freshman certified Difference Maker offensive weapon on the offensive side of the football now another really intriguing name and I think this is kind of the fascinating part about the transfer portal you see guys like K KY concepion who are you know proven Commodities at the college football level that are just looking for better fits change of scenery for whatever reason in concep own’s case just an offense that can kind of utilize him better you also see guys like Micah Hudson you know five-star wide receiver in the 2024 class spent his true freshman year at Texas Tech had seven catches for 111 yards kind of a nonf factor as a true freshman but we all remember this kid coming out of high school certified Difference Maker now I don’t know what went on with Texas Tech why he couldn’t find the field and be a little bit more productive as a true freshman but you know this kid can play and what I love about michaelah Hudson is one when that football’s in the air you’re not gonna find many wide receivers that adjust and play the football in the air better than michah Hudson he’s kind of built like a running back so he’s really good after the catch as well six foot a buck 95 really really thick legs that you know he can be physical at the catch point he can be a Difference Maker after the catch I think it’s just a matter of getting the best out of michah Hudson and again if you are a program that’s looking for difference makers on offense and you can kind of figure out how to unlock michaelah Hudson and what he can do best this kid is going to be a very good college football player and you see guys like this right you see some guys who just you know were highly taught it out of high school and kind of wash out that is certainly the case you also see guys like Jameson Williams couldn’t find the field at Ohio State goes to Alabama becomes one of the best wide receivers that we see in the country you see a lot of those examples as well Michael Hudson could be that guy didn’t get a ton of you know National media Buzz out of high school because he committed to a little bit of a smaller School in Texas Tech but also you had guys like Jeremiah Smith and cam Coleman and Ryan Williams this kid was right up there in terms of wide receivers in that 2024 class another name two years ago in 2023 former five-star wide receiver jontay cook kind of a similar situation now with jontay cook in my opinion he’s a little bit more proven at the college football level every time he’s played for Texas even Texas fans would agree like you kind of liked what you saw I feel like he didn’t think he was being utilized enough in year two so he decides to hit the transfer portal really really explosive Twitchy guy track and field background coming out of high school he can separate in his route trees he can be dynamic after the catch maybe not the the most physical wide receiver like a guy like michah Hudson but jonay cook in terms of movement skills straight line speed but more importantly short area quickness that ability to separate that ability to make people miss this kid’s Juiced up and again if you’re and this is this is the position that seems to be most intriguing right now the wide receiver spot a lot of good talented wide receivers that seem to be flooding into the transfer portal jont cookon of them two more to talk about one Malachi Coleman another really intriguing Prospect from the 2023 class Malachy Coleman at Nebraska you kind of knew he’d be a little bit of a slower burn 65 210 he played a lot of edge rusher out of high school and this kid I mean just let’s talk physical traits back up and just talk physical traits for just a second 65 210 105 in the 100 meter dash God Don’t Make many of those now malach Coleman was a really really raw foot football player he was just kind of a good athlete that had a football helmet on and I think that’s kind of the explanation why he hasn’t been all that productive the first two years at Nebraska also dealt with some injuries wasn’t on the practice field so he couldn’t get on the football field on Saturdays if you’re an offense that you think you can grab the best out of malach Coleman specifically if you’re an offense that is looking for big bodied boundary wide receivers that can work vertically down the field Malachi Coleman would be a guy that yes unproven at the college football level now go bet on those traits because if you unlock Mal Coleman he’s got three years of Eligibility he red shirted in 2024 this kid could kind of grow into a really really exciting college football player last wide receiver I want to talk about and you know kind of the opposite of the some of the guys we just talked about Eric Rivers under recruited out of high school went to Memphis transfer to FIU has been one of the most productive wide receivers in the country at FIU in 2024 you take a look at the numbers couple of things I like I mean the numbers first 1100 receiving yards 19 yards per catch what I love most about Eric Rivers he can do a lot you know you turn on some FIU film and I don’t watch a ton of FIU football so I have to go back and watch a little bit he lives behind the defense I mean he’s a guy that just always seemingly getting behind the defense attacking the deeper third so he gives you that verticality but he’s also a guy that is electric with the football in his hands you know 19 missed tackles forced over 400 yards at after the catch in 2024 another one of those guys that’s going to be quite easy to get involved in your offense because he can thrive in that short intermediate concept but he also can be a guy that takes the top off the defense multi-dimensional wide receiver that’s been really productive at the G5 level to me these are a lot of the guys that I’d be most interested like go give me some guys that had kind of slipped through the cracks out of the high school ranks went to a G5 program put up really big numbers for the last couple years now we’re looking to play at the power four level I I think the the track record in the transfer portal shows these kind of wide receivers they have a lot of success now one interesting quarterback that I want to mention and you kind of only see two quarterbacks as of right now and I would expect this to change that are in Anthony kandria and uh Thomas castalanos from BC now we’ve talked about Thomas castalanos now I want to talk about Anthony kandria this kid this kid’s a gunslinger you know was a true freshman at Virginia in 2023 started six games and super talented really Dynamic getting outside of the pocket can make a lot of really impressive throws he’s one of those guys that you turn on the film there’s a lot of throws that make a draw drop there’s a lot of throws that make you scratch your head no I think he cleaned a little bit of that up going into 2024 started 11 games for Virginia Virginia was not a bad football team in 2024 but you still kind of the the thing with Anthony kandra is hey can we keep all those highs that playmaking ability that this kid brings but just rope him in a little bit and say hey we love the big time throws you’re making we love the game-changing plays you’re making but we also got to have you protect the football a little bit more not make those throws that make a scratch your head if you can do that and he’s got three years of Eligibility to work with with a retro year I think he could be an interesting quarterback that maybe doesn’t start the first year at his new school you know kind of takes a red shirt year gets a little bit more development I think he’d be a really fun quarterback the last two years of his eligibility now two other guys that want to quickly buzz by Julian Humphrey at Georgia you know start of the first 10 games for Georgia to me Julian Humphrey reminds me of deanii Jackson you know deanii Jackson a couple years ago came out of high school about 61 195 pounds 10 five in the 100 meter dash like Julian Humphrey from a physical trait standpoint he’s big he’s tall he’s fast he’s physical he he checks off all the boxes you’re looking for in a boundary quarterback just hasn’t always put it together at Georgia now played a bunch of football for Georgia this year in 2024 there were some growing pains and some struggles but he’s one of those guys that you can’t you can’t teach what he brings you can’t teach 612 200 pounds with a 10 five in the 100 meter dash and so he’s one of those guys that if he goes to another program gets a little bit of change of scenery maybe has a coach that can kind of tap into him a little bit more bring out the best of him I think you’re looking at an all conf conference quarterback at the power four level the last name I want to talk about and probably going to be one of the most hot Commodities Jim Otis from Alabama the number one overall player in the transfer portal as we sit right now we know these kind of guys are going to be very sought after they were very sought after last year they’re going to be saw it after this year these big bodies on the inside of the defensive line you can never have enough difference makers game records in depth on the defensive line jiim Otis is not only a depth piece he’s a guy that if you get the best out of kind of similar like be Alexander if you get the best out of Jem Otis this kid can be a Difference Maker for you on the inside of the defensive line there are some off the field stuff that you probably have to work through but I look at Jem Otis and say if you can take a flyer on him and get the best out of him he’s an allconference guy he’s an NFL caliber guy those are the eight names that I think are most intriguing right now you know probably by Wednesday we’ll
