good to see you know what Blues fans think about you know maybe had a comment below who you think will start on the rice um because uh if Anderson isn’t available or is is rested or maybe even put on the bench what do we do because that changes the whole formation about it can’t be Williamson though it can’t don’t don’t put Williamson on the right we we that’s an experiment that hasn’t [Applause] worked so welcome back to bcfc royal blue and next up for Birmingham city at n Head Park are Blackpool now we’ve played Blackpool in the cup already this season we won 2-1 at Bloomfield row but this is a league game uh and myself and Matt as we always do in this preview videos are going to discuss Blackpool uh maybe give some um suggestions about what we think might happen and also talk about the the Blues team so Matt we’ve got Steve Bruce and his Blackpool team coming on the 29th of December looking forward to it I am I mean the fixtures are coming in thick and fast aren’t they like they always do during the festive period I saw on the blue D it’s another sellout so full St Andrews again and it’s always nice to get the big crowds isn’t it and I think some blues fans have argued the atmosphere this year has been a little bit on the flat side but for me there’s just always something special about having a full on packed out Ang it still feels pretty magical to me um but as you say we did a Blackpool preview a few weeks back or about a month back now when we played them in the FA Cup so it’s a team we’re familiar with in terms of our research a little bit of a difficult one there dad isn’t it because we both had made changes in those games so it wasn’t a full strength team team against against either we had like Yuki on we had dyes on so a little bit of a different change there but Blackpool lost 2-1 to rexam at the weekend I don’t know if you saw that Dad but they got given a penalty in the 88th minute and it re sorry reom got given a penalty and it was an absolute shocker it clearly hit the guys back yeah so they’re going to be fuming I mean I saw brucey’s postmatch interview I saw some of the players and even on social Dad they put the caption out to say we lose at rexam and a lot of the comments are going let’s use this Injustice as fuel against Birmingham let’s get fired up let’s get revved up so they’re going to come to to St Andrews fired up and as you say though dad the key for me is let’s focus on what we do and we’ll be fine yeah I don’t think we can take the cup game as anything really because you know we beat shwb in the NL trophy in the cup 4-0 then going lose 3-2 to them in the uh exactly in the league you know and we’ll have a very different team out against Blackpool I think these are I think Blackpool and de Bruce are are a decent team they got they got they’re quite good they’re going to be one of the more um attacking teams that we’ll see at St Andrews this season I think they’ll Steve BR usually sets him up as a 442 I can’t see him going five at the back I just don’t see it with Steve Bru I think he’ll want his team to be a bit more expansive and it might suit us uh but I think this is a tough game I think we’ve just come off games against teams down the bottom Blackpool strange team they’re mid mid-table team but they they saw the feast or famine they’re either winning loads of games or losing loads of games they’re 15th at the moment they are 15th but uh you know they they’ve uh we we’ve won last in the last six games we’ve got six six z00 six wins no draws no losses Blackpool have won three draw one and lost two of the last six um that’s including their defeat against against rexam uh in terms of the um their their form so they their away form this might surprise you their away form is the sixth best in the whole of League one they’ve got uh 16 points from 12 y League game so there’s only um above them Mansfield Huddersfield Barnsley us and Wickham and then then then them so they’ve got their away forms decent their home forms terrible but they’re away for they’re away aren’t they so uh something to be wary of as well they score enough goals I mean they got 30 goals in their 21 games that’s not bad and they have tightened up at the back they what they were right at the bottom after about um 14 or 15 games they conceded the most goals but they’ve tightened up now they’ve scored they’ve conceded 33 goals in 21 games so it’s still not great but um they are you know around about eighth from bottom now of the goals conceded so they are they are they’ tightened up a little bit um so yeah I I think they’re quite a quite dangerous team I think they’ve got some good Wing play uh and know they we have to watch their Pace I’ve got a question dad I mean we we were a few beers down at the time so I don’t know whether you want to uh maybe correct this or go back on it but yeah we mentioned about our predictions for the playoffs for League one and you actually mentioned that Blackpool might make a push for the playoffs you still stand by that I do I do and I mean I know that they when Steve Bruce came in they w a gutter games and fought him up the league then obviously had that sad um family uh event that took him out for a number of times and and and that coincided with a real dip in form for them uh and then they won uh three in a row um from the end of November through to December and obviously they so they they sort of like wing gluts of games I I think they’re quite capable of making the playoffs I do and and and I’ll tell you why because I think that they I like their wing players I mean there’s a player actually Center forward Cole Joseph he’s a good player he’s a good player he’s he’s quite he’s very Pace here as well he’s their top scor with six goals at the moment Ashley Fletcher as well a very experienced Center forwards he scored their goal against um against rexam didn’t he they he’s they’ve got three goals I’ve got Jose down a seven goals and three assists but that that mine could be across all competitions who knows but um yeah league league so yeah I mean you’re right Dad and um just in terms of their recent games I’ve not got the last six but I’ve got the last five and they beat Bristol Rovers 2-0 they beat shuby 2-1 reading 3-0 nil nil against stevenage and then of course this weekend they lost 2-1 to rexon but I think their standout result was away to Huddersfield they beat Huddersfield away they built they beat chalton away at the valley as well so they have had some very very good results this season this isn’t a team to be under estimated black reading’s a standard result well I mean being reading 3-0 at reading is a good result when they had Sellers as manager as well yeah they’re a good side reading at home and they’ve done very well so that is a good result so and I think that emphasizes really confirms what what I said about the fact that they got really good away for so that they’ll come to St Andrews not fearing us and I think that they’ll have a proper go and I think it’s going to be I think this be one of our tougher games I do yeah because I do fancy them to get to the playoffs I tell a player I really like from there a guy called James husband he’s very controlled puts in some good challenges is I like the way he sort of commands and he sort of has that physical presence about him as well experienced player as well he’s just a player I respect and really he’s got a lot of attributes I like in a footballer someone I really like and as you say Bruce does play a 442 he has dabbled with 433 in some games of of recent but I think he’s going to come to S Andrews and do a 442 he’s not going to play five at the back dead like you say but he will be a lot more aware and maybe be slightly more defensive minded and a 442 allows him to to be a bit more like that doesn’t it Steve Bruce is if nothing else predictable you know we knew that when he was man I remember obviously managing Blues you know you sort of know what you’re going to get that was my primary and I think that’s what a lot of Blues fans were critical of Steve Bru say well why didn’t you try something different but he was it was for we play 442 and we erated but he got us promoted in the first place a fair play well another another decent player as well is is Lee Evan Central Midfield he he keeps them ticking Eed he’s got two goals and five assists so he’s one to watch as well but you know this is what when we come on to team selection I think um that Chris Davis will play uh what he will see as his strongest team in this game in my opinion but we’ll come on to that in a minute okay um just a few things about to um black Paul in terms of their strength I think I think firstly I think having a strength having Steve Bruce’s manager is a strength because he’s experienced and he he can manage and read games and uh you know so that’s good for for them to get him but they’re strong at attacking down the wings which I said that’s something we’re going to have to watch so they might try and catch it on the Counterattack that could open up gaps for us as well so it could work in our favor as well creating Chances with through ball Lee Evans and obviously through their through their mid Midfield attacking set pieces really strong there is a few little weaknesses protecting a lead um they can’t they have struggled to do that defending against long shots uh and avoiding individual errors so they are lot a lot of teams prone to this type of thing so lots of pluses and minuses there for them so you know things to for us to think about yeah and and the key for me dad from Blackpool season is they have no doubt have the ability to score goals that isn’t their problem they can find the net they can score goals they can beat good teams it’s defensively and I take your point actually they have tightened up a little bit since we did the FA Cup review and even before then but they average 1.43 goals a game but they concede 1.57 that’s really poor so again you know they’re clearly defensively they’re they concede a lot of goals but they have no go they have no problem scoring goals basically they just need to tighten up at the back and um I tell you what I’ve noticed dad is when they concede that one they concede a lot of late goals in fact the biggest minute section in which they concede their goals is between 80 and 95 okay that’s the biggest percentage of where they’ve conceded a lot of their goals in fact six goals this season have become in 90 plus minutes so they they’re prone to conceding a lot of late goals and when they do concede they they can concede close together so it’s almost like the wheels fall off a little bit you know their confidence goes their heads drop because when one goal goes in I’ve noticed a pattern of one two three going in not far off behind it so if we can get an early goal put that pressure on this could be a completely different game but um I agree with you dad I think this is a tricky game I think these are one to be cautious about and um yeah interested to get your thoughts on The Blue Team unless you got anything else to say on Blackpool me no not really as I say I think this will be this is they’re a D in my opinion they’re a dangerous opponent you know they I look forward to it you know we look forward to all games but it ain’t going to be a burton or Crawley I think these will have a little bit more about them in coming forward so we just got to be weary of that because we can we can beat them we proven that in the cup as I say it’s a different game but for me um I I think these are a dangerous opposition I do and we just need to be on really on our game Steve uh Steve Davis um Chris Davis Steve Davis is a snoer player uh Chris Davis needs to really think about how he sets us up against this team which we’ll come on to now so do you want to talk about the Blues team let’s do it so we’ll do should we do we always do that instead you do the backline because I did it on the last match and then I’ll do the attacking side of the game so you go through the defensive line I’ll go through the Midfield and forward well I think this is M for me this is mainly easy this is an easy choice I think I think so you’ve been quite kind giving me the backl definitely all spping goal yeah clar will definitely come back yeah I think Ben Davis is you can’t drop him yeah so so it’s going to be all spping goal you have two Center um Defenders as alsop uh not alsop as um Davis on the left clar on the right uh right back I think B will go back there now for me it’s going to be either it could be either bu Canan or it could be Cochran I have a feeling he might bring bu Canon back for this one that’s what I’ve plump for okay yeah I mean I completely agree Al stoping goal Ben Davis Clara be the only question mark for me left back but it’s not about preference it’s about who Chris Davis sees as the most fit and the most uh who’s going to give us the most amount of benefit I’m going to join you I think it will be Buchanan because they’ve got good Wing play and he puts in some big challenges I think if you’ve got a team with a really big attribute to their game being wings I think Buchanan could arguably be the slightest stronger left back I think I think as well um Beck is going to be crucial in this game because they because they are very strong on that left hand side as well so and he did a great job against stport didn’t he against Louis Barry completely nullified him yeah so I think be’s got a big big part to play in this game uh and he’s experienced as well so I think defin definitely Beck at at right back yeah okay so Midfield and Dad I’ll go through the two holding midfielders I think he’s going to revert back to IAT IAT IAT we have this thing on this podcast where I keep saying I I need to get A and P in the two midfields and I think he’s going to go stford on the left Williamson in the 10 Anderson on the right and I think he’s going to go back to Alie May up top I was debating whether to put D in there for that physicality and you know we do tend to start games quite direct recently don’t we all start with a few long balls and stuff and Dykes does play into that Advantage but I’ve got a feeling it be May so just to reiterate AATA P Stansfield Williamson Anderson into Alfie May yeah okay I pretty much agree with everything you said the only issue for me I agree it’s going to be ping a water back in because I think like I said a little bit earlier he’s going to want to pick his strongest Midfield the these are these are you know more of a challenge uh in terms of the opposition that we’ve got um Stanfield definitely be on the left Williamson will be in the number 10 and may the think will be the number nine it’s the right hand side is the question mark for me uh because Anderson came off with fatigue halime um against Burton uh whether or not he might chance and start Hansen on there because he came on as a sub but it shows me that there’s a bit of a not a weakness there but we have got a little bit of a gap there because you know there’s no when Anderson’s not available maybe might not be in the team there’s no natural oh yeah we’ll have this player definitely don’t Williamson there no because he because he could do Williamson as as the right wing and put Harris in the number 10 no but I don’t think that happen but I I don’t see in my opinion um for the reasons that we always talk about I don’t see I don’t see Dykes as a starter um I I would prefer to see dogs in you know I always PR Alfie May number nine Stanfield Williamson number 10 Anderson right that’s my preferred I see DS as a substitute in every game as an option I don’t see him as a starter you know I think he it’s interesting is it because against uh barnesley and against I would maybe argue chalton as well I think we were missing that physical element I think we need I agree with I think we need it I don’t say we don’t need it and I’m not saying that L DS is a bad player because as as you know you know we we do need these different question mark to give to other teams but I just think that we always feel that starting games it’s almost as if it’s we I don’t know I just feel like you want a bit of flow in the game did you feel like it’s a bit of a negative start to the game to have dog whereas Alfie May kind of makes things happen a bit more don’t he and you know when Alfie May in around the Box you know he’s always got a goal in him asn’t he where Got Confidence dkes is a victim of Chris Davis’s system in as much as if you’re going to play a big physical strong Center forward he needs High balls in yeah but Chris DAV is plays short passy crisp football and and dkes don’t get the ball where where he’d be most dangerous so don’t think he’s effective as a starter in my opinion I mean I respect everybody else’s but in my opinion I i’ prefer to see dkes on the B then he’s an option to come on if we need it um well in this game I completely agree I’d much rather say Alfie may start this game yeah just because he makes he makes things happen more but just coming back to your point D you mentioned about the right being a weak not a weak but like a maybe lacking in a little bit of depth in compared to other areas of the pitch what about sing stano on the right um so you you’d have stano on the right Williamson in the 10 and then that would free up the left wing so you could have Hansen who’s more in his custom position Yakama maybe in could come on the left so um but I agree that could is that do you think that’s a question mark over the January transfer window or the summer transfer window getting a second possibly is I mean if we can keep Scott right in my opinion if we can keep Scott right fit that’s his position well but then you say well what about Anders Anderson Anderson’s been brilliant so it’s Anderson and Ro that’s their position but it was a problem with both of them because at the very beginning of barsley which is for about two minutes until Cochran got injured lead started on the right yeah he did against Barnsley and then obviously Cochran got injured and he reverted him to to left back so I think even Chris Davis is looking that as a potential what do I do in this position if Anderson’s not available right’s not available what do you do Chris Davis has been playing Luke Harris there as well from time to time especially at the start of the Season before Luke Harris got his injury he was playing Harris on the right sometimes with Williamson in the 10 and sometimes they were interchanging a little bit I’m not a fan of that I would rather a proper authentic right winger kesi Anderson Scott Wright um two two I’d even rather Yakama on his weaker foot if it means him cutting in May but that’s all down to how Chris Davis wants to train his team and play that kind of game but for me kesi Anderson it’s it’s his position to lose just off the back of his form and his contribution but um right just behind him is an outstanding addition this season so you know right can’t be too far away can’t be we’d heard a few weeks ago that he was back yeah so what maybe they’re sort of being tentative in the way they’re bringing him back but I’d like he might surprise if we might see him on the bench yeah and he was just in my opinion before his injury he’ just broken into the team he was just starting to show his real um y real value and worth I mean to be fair you know since he’s been injured kesi Anderson’s done brilliant he’s probably been our most consistent player in terms of assists and goals um I agree but you know if if the signs are that he felt a bit jaded at halim against against Burton does put a question mark on whether he’ll start in this game um so that’ll be interesting know good to see you know but Blues fans think about you know maybe had a comment below who you think will start on the r um because if Anderson isn’t available or is’s he rested or maybe even put on the bench what do we do cuz that changes the whole formation about it can’t be biley peacock F in goal I’ve got lead Taylor Garden Hickman yeah Mark Leonard uh I’ve actually put in this game Yakama yeah on the bench because I think we might need an option on the wings and Harrison dkes that’s two four six seven yeah yeah yeah same here yeah I’ve got Sanderson here but I think I think that’s a mistake well now that Clara’s back we’ve got and obviously we’ve got players like uh if if either Davis or claraa were to be injured or substituted be could drop in there so could be Canon yes so there’s options around that pitches I don’t think we’ll see Sanderson on the bench I think you’re right and I’ll be surprised see a blue shirt again no agreed I think he’s going to be gone in Jan no now we’re approaching the January transfer window but yeah so just brings us to a score prediction then to finish okay so I think they’re gonna we’ve had a really good run we spoke a lot in the bur and video about our defensive abilities I’ve just got a feeling they’re going to score in this game I just got a feeling I don’t know what it is so I’ve gone for Blackpool one Birmingham city 2 okay so well I and I’m probably going to get shut down for this but um I we think that these are a dangerous team I think they’ll score as well uh and I think that you know we are so strong at home that everyone thinks we’re just going to win every game but I think this is going to be a draw okay I’m going to go for blues Blues one Blackpool one I hope it’s not and I hope I’m wrong I’ve just something going to back on my mon so I thinking about this I’m thinking I don’t know I’m going to do I’m do a podcast it’s going to go out to all of our Blues family and I’m going to say that we’re going to draw it home I know that I’m going to get daggers for it of course you’re not D this is a podcast based around authentic opinion and you you know that’s what you believe and that’s what you feel that’s absolutely fine you know I’m sure there’s other Blues fans who think we might draw and this is not this is not me because obviously we are it’s not me about being Doom and Gloom I just think that you know that that that statistically there has to come a time where teams are going to come more at us and we are going to maybe um struggle to win every single game at home but I I I’ve just I just got a feeling in the back of my mind this is going to be a draw I the reason why I’ve done a Blues win dad is because of exactly the point you’ve just made Blackpool will come at as a little bit more which might open up little pockets in the attacking area and and it’s the Steve the Steve Bruce Factor as well he’s a war manager you know just like we saw Nel kff at Mansfield you know that that type of manager that know they’ve got the experience to know what to do so yeah yeah all my heart wants a Birmingham City win but it’s just something that tells me that they will score and this will be a draw and I really hope I’m sitting here doing the postmatch video and uh I’m wrong I really really hope that but that’s just just in my mind because you know we obviously we wanted to sort of be as realistic as possible and I’m sure that uh you know we we’d love to win every every single game but there’s no team in any League ever that’s won every single game and uh I see this as one of a a little bit of a stumbling block but not a disaster okay not fair enough as you say Dad I would love to get all the blues fans opinions please let us know your score line in the section below because uh now you race on very valid points I think that’s fair and I’m sure there’s some blues fans that do have similar opinions as well so that that’s it for me I think the key is going forward Shifting the ball with Pace with intent going at them I think because black F black paol will be 4 42 they will come out as a little bit more it will open up pockets for us to exploit as well which might make this quite an entertaining hopefully end to end game bit of fun bit of excitement to watch cuz if we’re going to be honest the last couple of games and I’m not complaining we’ve won but they have been a little bit on the boring side haven’t they so well don’t know I didn’t see the I’d had about six points by then know it’s foggy as well wasn’t it I kept turning around to M the what’s happening literally we’re at the back of the Tilt nearly and like the other end of the pitch I couldn’t see a thing and I kept say to M what’s happened and he he almost like he was a commentator for a little bit yeah even I was struggling and and I’ve got really good eyesight I was it really was blow but let’s Concentra on our game we’ll be fine and yeah Birmingham city to Blackpool one yeah and just just for my purposes Birmingham city if you’re watching this if if it predicted to be fog ditch the fireworks I do like to watch the games if I’m going live a lot to watch the game but uh what do you think Birmingham city support is you know what do you think about this game another another great game for us to go to isn’t it a cect crowd at s Andrews um you know hopefully we can keep the momenta going then my prediction of a draw won’t happen it’ll be a win uh but
