when we think of loyalty excellence and passion for the sport one name immediately comes to mind Clayton Kershaw the legendary pitcher who dedicated 17 years of his career to the Los Angeles Dodgers is an icon to us all despite the challenges of the past few seasons Kershaw continues to show that his will to compete and win is as alive as ever and now as he goes through a crucial moment in his recovery new updates are emerging about his plans for next season will we see the Eternal number 22 on the Mound again defending the colors of the Dodgers in 2025 let’s take a look at that together but first like the video and subscribe to the channel for more Dodgers news here Clayton Kershaw 36 made the decision to decline his $10 million player option and test the free agency market this offseason despite that the renowned left-hander has made it clear that his intention is to continue playing and more importantly to continue his history with the Dodgers after undergoing two surgeries in November one to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and another to correct a torn plantar plate and bone spurs in his left big toe Kershaw is focused on his recovery in an injury-plagued season Kershaw has managed to make just seven starts in 2024 posting a 4.50 erra 1.500 whip and a 2 to2 record while those numbers don’t reflect his usual dominance on the mound it’s important to remember that he didn’t return to action until July and missed the entire postseason despite that Kershaw has said he’s not ready to call it quits and wants to take advantage of the opportunity to return healthy after his surgeries mentally I feel great Kershaw said my shoulder and elbow are in perfect shape obviously I had a little bit of bad luck with my foot this year but I want to take advantage of this surgery I don’t want to end my career after surgery I’m going to come back next year and try again Dodgers general manager Brandon GS also expressed optimism about Kershaw’s return and the ongoing communication between the team and the veteran he’s making progress in his recovery we’ll stay in touch and our expectation is that Clayton will be back next year when he’s ready if we’re fortunate enough to get him back he’ll be on our Mound despite exploring his options in free agency Kershaw reaffirmed his commitment to the Dodgers I’m a Dodger for life he said making it clear his desire to end his career with the same team that started it all back in 2008 when he made his MLB debut after being selected in the first round of the 20 06 draft so fans what do you think of Kershaw’s plans are you confident he’ll shine again in a Dodgers uniform let us know in the comments like the video and subscribe to the channel for more Dodgers news here
