[Music] you know I didn’t even realize the amount of times that we have made videos this season regarding Boston and regarding Vancouver this is my Redemption for 2011 folks yeah that’s exactly it I’m going out here and talking about Vancouver stuff and being all snarky about it because today what we are doing is we’re going over to some Boston Bruins trade ideas as well as talking about whether or not there is a Vancouver Canucks player that the bees could bring on to their team now the funny part is we’ve made so many videos about Boston Vancouver from the numerous Elias lindol and Nikita zorov updates to Jake de Brusque trolling Bruins fans on Instagram the other day but in this video we’re taking two separate ideas combining them into one and also talking about a little bit of a collaboration here because today we are talking about one of the most ridiculous trade ideas that we could see out there in the media sphere right now and it comes to us via the athletic take a look at this article it was published on November 11th 2024 on okay I was going to say the New York Times it’s the athletic here but this is your NHL trade board and if you take a look at the NHL trade board you will see a very distinct name on the very front of the piece yeah the image has Brock Nelson of the New York Islanders Taylor Hall of the Chicago Blackhawks and one Brad marshan of the Boston Bruins the captain of the team he is listed on the Athletics top targets trade board and this is pretty huge now of course the article was from a few weeks ago it’s in the description if you want to go ahead and read it and if you have the athletic but for those who do not have the athletic quote is actually available on social media on Bruins insider.com because Joshua Deeds went out there and published this article yesterday which has the quote that we care about take a look at this Chris Johnson wrote about Brad marshan saying that this is not a player we expected to find on the trade board even if he is currently playing out the final year of his contract but as a league Source noted this week I don’t think anyone in Boston thought this is where they’d be at if the decision to replace Jim Montgomery Joe sacko behind the Bruin’s bench doesn’t produce the desired results some difficult Personnel decisions will almost certainly follow Maran has had a slow start to the season after a summer during which he went under surgery multiple times but he remains a high-end Winger who can contribute offensively kill penalties and yes get under an opponent’s skin now here’s the thing about the Boston Bruins and Brad marshan if you head over to Marian and his point production this season sure he has had better years this season he is on Pace for about 53 points which would be a decline from the 100 points he was at back in 201819 and even the other Seasons he had like last year he had 67 points the year before that 67 points the year before that 80 points and then the year before that he had 69 points in only 53 games played so Marian has been a consistent above to near Point per game performer for a good chunk of his career but this season in his second year as the captain of the bees he is on Pace for a much lower production rate now the thing is ever since Joe Sao was put into the head spot of the bees and their coaching situation they have started to win games marshan and particular has not really scored a bunch more but he does have what is that 1 2 three four points in the six game sample the bees have under Seiko for now that’s not amazing but it’s not terrible so Maran has been slowly getting his numbers back up into the right spot that you needed to be if you wanted to see the best production possible out of this guy whether or not that means he is exempt from a trade though that remains to be seen Maran right now is making 6.125 million a year until the end of this season at 36 years old 5 9176 left-handed Winger and ultimately if you wanted to talk about what his potential could be long-term yeah I have no idea like the guy’s 36 who knows how long the next contract he is going to sign is going to be like if he signs a 4-year deal which takes him until he’s 40 is that something that anybody would realistically think about if he signs a 2-year deal or a three-year deal or a one-year deal does you go the oneye oneye oneye oneyear deal route over the next few years until he’s ready to lace him up who really knows if that’s possible here and who really knows how much a team would desire what it is Marian brings to the table if he continues to slow down in points now that is probably not going to happen I think he and a lot of the other bees are going to start getting their act together once that coaching change was executed look for my sake I need this to happen I have Jeremy Swan on my fantasy team and everybody has been clamoring about how Nikita zadorov might be a conu trade Target it’s in everybody’s best interests if the Boston Bruins start to play well again thank you very much and for Brad marshand he is definitely in that conversation as well it’d be difficult I would say to think about him even getting traded but hey if it’s Chris Johnson on the athletic going out there and saying that it’s not impossible that it would be something that we have to at least consider depending on the situation in Boston and how his overall play is going to continue to go then we just got to go out there and say hm maybe what about it now on the same topic of guys that are smaller Wingers with bite to their game I wanted to talk about an article that I saw on the hockey news written and published by Michael D Roa this was from yesterday and it was published on the Boston Bruins portion of the hockey news website the Bruins should Target an interesting Canucks forward the Bruins should consider making a push for this guy and of course you saw it in the title you saw it in the thumbnail last Friday NHL Insider Kevin weeks reported that the Vancouver Canucks and forward Nails hoglander have been generating trade interest he specifically mentioned that the Caps the Penguins and the Blue Jackets are among the clubs interested while weeks did not mention the Boston Bruins as one of the team links to hoglander the original six Club should consider targeting the Vancouver connects forward this article talks about how hoglander carries a pretty good cap hit it’s 1.1 million how he did have 20 plus goals last year and how his package of Youth goal scoring and snarl should be considered as valuable for the Boston Bruins and how if you wanted to say he’s got more potential to do even bigger things in the NHL then there certainly is an argument to be had there and honestly I’m thinking about it like this if you consider Maran out and hoglander in you’re kind of getting a really similar player there in Boston now I’m not insinuating at all that it’s going to be Brad Maran for Neils hoglander like Marian’s not coming to Vancouver folks don’t worry that’s never going to happen I think that guy might get actually booed out of this city it’ be like Messier 2.0 really like not saying that Brad marshan would be as terrible as a leader as markc Messier was with the KN but think about it Mark Messier defeated the Vancouver Canucks as the captain of the Rangers in the 1994 Stanley Cup Final then he got sent over to van and he ruined the franchise Brad marshan was a part of the 2011 Cup Final team that beat the Vancouver Canucks he wasn’t the captain but he was there he’s the captain of Boston now though and if he were to get sent over to Vancouver we might see ourselves a similar Riot on the day that we saw the Vancouver kenox lose game seven at home okay that was maybe a little bit too far gone but still this is not an idea that I think is going to work but for Boston if you think about having a Maran trade setting him out and getting hoglander back in I think everything that you expect out of Brad marshad hoglander can bring too it’s just a question as to whether or not you’ll get that consistantly and if hoglander will actually deliver on those promises at his best he can be a snarly Under the Skin type agitating four checking Winger with really good skill he can score the Michigan goal he hasn’t yet at the NHL level and he can get himself in the proper spots to pot in those even strength goals Brad marshan I think has a little bit better of a playmaking edge to his game than hoglander does and I think okay marshan is kind of better at everything than hoglander is right now but ultimately Maran does have like 15 years on hoglander so that certainly is an aspect that you have to think about at the Boston Bruins in their quest of rebuilding the youth might actually be interested in a guy like hoglander if they were to want to get a guy that was in that same Brad marshan type of mold you already have Fabian leel in your system who can provide similar traits if you have hoglander and Lea on the same team on the same line then oh boy other teams in that Metro division better watch out because that line that combination of guys is just going to be terrifying to play a game so let me know your thoughts in the comment section below firstly about the idea of Brad Marian getting traded away from Boston do you think this is possible the folks over on the athletic went out there and discussed it as a possibility here and do you think Neils hoglander should be a target of the Boston Bruins as well articles will be linked in the description the athletic piece as well as the hockey news piece but for now let me know your thoughts in the comment section below I hope you enjoyed this vsh as r99 and bye [Music] [Music]
