Dodgers Plan Blockbuster Trade: A Move That Could Shake Up MLB!
Hey, Dodgers Nation! You know how the offseason is packed with rumors and possibilities, right? Well, today, weโre diving into a story that could have your heart racing. Imagine the Dodgers making yet another bold move to strengthen their roster. The buzz this time? A trade that could bring one of MLBโs top closers straight to Los Angeles. Intrigued? Letโs get into the details, but firstโฆ
Do you think the Dodgers should go all-in on a big trade now, or save their firepower for future moves? Let us know in the comments, share this video with your friends, and subscribe to the channel so you donโt miss a moment of this epic offseason!
The Brewersโ Dilemma
The Milwaukee Brewers are facing a tough decision this offseason: hold onto their star Willy Adames, or accept the reality that a small-market team canโt compete financially with MLBโs big spenders. Adames is reportedly seeking a six-year deal worth $160 million, according to MLB Trade Rumors. Itโs unlikely the Brewers can afford to keep him.
And thatโs where the Dodgers come in. With Adames seemingly heading to a bigger-market team, a trade between the Dodgers and Brewers could offer the perfect solution for both sides. The Dodgersโ potential target? Renowned closer Devin Williams, a two-time National League Reliever of the Year.
The Trade Proposal
According to Jim Bowden of The Athletic, the Dodgers might be willing to part with a package that includes Gavin Lux, a versatile young shortstop who could step in as Adamesโ replacement. Lux has posted solid career numbers (.252 batting average, 28 home runs, 155 RBIs, and a .709 OPS), offering the Brewers both an immediate solution and long-term potential.
But thatโs not all. To sweeten the deal, the Dodgers could also include a promising young pitcher like Justin Wrobleski, who shined in Double-A and Triple-A with a 3.76 ERA in 2024. This would help Milwaukee shore up their bullpen while the Dodgers reinforce theirs even further.
Why This Matters
Williams, who returned from injury in 2024 to post a stunning 1.25 ERA over 22 games, is one of the best closers in the league. His addition would bolster a Dodgers bullpen thatโs already gearing up after acquiring Blake Snell and potentially re-signing Blake Treinen.
And the Dodgers might not stop there. If this trade happens, they could make an even bigger splash by signing Willy Adames as a free agent, adding an experienced shortstop to a roster already loaded with talent.
Speaking of big moves, thereโs more…
Dodgers Pursuing Juan Soto: Another Superstar in the Mix?
Letโs talk about another potential blockbuster. Juan Soto, the 26-year-old superstar whoโs already a four-time All-Star, is dominating free agency talks. The Dodgers have reportedly made a โhighly competitiveโ offer for Soto, starting at around $600 million, though other teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, and Blue Jays are also in the mix, with offers reaching $700 million.
Imagine this: a lineup featuring Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, AND Soto. It could be the most dangerous offense in MLB history. Sotoโs youth and MVP-caliber talent make him a long-term asset, especially as Betts (32) and Freeman (35) begin to age.
Dodgersโ Strategy: Cautious or Aggressive?
Despite their strong offer, the Dodgers arenโt considered favorites for Soto, according to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN. However, we know how this front office operates: when they truly want a player, they find a way to make it happen.
But with so much competition, will the Dodgers up their bid for Soto or focus on shoring up other areas of the roster?
And Now, Itโs Your Call, Dodgers Fans!
With a trade for Williams and a possible bid for Soto on the horizon, the Dodgers are positioning themselves for an even bigger 2025 season.
What do you think? Should the Dodgers go all-in for Soto, even if it means a record-breaking contract? Or is a trade for Devin Williams the smarter move right now?

๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ Transcript:
how about this cartoon here courtesy Baseball America and their cartoonist Paul trap uh Santa knows what’s on every team’s wish list I don’t want I don’t know about every team but you know the big The Big Spenders Mets Phillies Dodgers let me guess Juan stto and let’s start there we’re pleased to be joined by Mark feinan senior Insider for mlb.com Mark uh what do you know about Juan stto give us the latest well first of all just hearing John Sterling sing wonderful to keep in New York just so we can you know just keep replaying that uh what do we know about woto we know that there are at least four teams that have already made offers they’re all believed to be over $600 million uh Yankees Mets Red Sox Blue Jays the Dodgers are still in this although in this weekend or it could just become the biggest story at the winter meetings as we all reconvene in Dallas next week Mark real quick any chance of that mystery team coming to fruition or or you feel pretty good about the about the teams that have been publicly linked I I think at this point I feel pretty good about the teams that were public the Phillies were a team that were mentioned at the beginning they haven’t even met with stto and if he’s already at the point of receiving offers and starting to narrow teams down uh I just can’t see them jumping in at this point so I think the five teams that we’re talking about are probably the five teams that he’s looking at and and like I said I think those four East Coast teams probably have a little bit of an Edge and Mark if the Yankees do miss out on Juan stto uh what’s your take on their interest in pivoting to directions say like Willie adamus yeah I just reported on mlb.com that Willie adamus is one of their primary plan bees uh obviously there is an opening in the in is signing adamus uh maybe moving vulpi to second base or moving adamus to Third and shifting Jazz Chisum over to Second chism’s versatility gives them some options there in terms of what they need they’re not stuck looking at one specific position but Adamas would be a great addition for them he’s a great Clubhouse guy obviously had a huge last year career highs and home runs and rbi’s uh and and he’s didn’t have a great defensive year last year but in 2023 he was one of the top defensive Short Stops in the game so uh I think adamus is a guy that they will certainly look to if stto winds up signing elsewhere now another middle in infielder is Hung Kim the Heartbreak Kim but let’s talk about haung Kim this is a 25y old and this past season in the kbo he hit over 300 stole 30 bases he has designs on coming over to the United States what’s his Market looking like right now yeah so he was posted today officially as of tomorrow morning teams will be able to negotiate with him you know the 100 million plus range I don’t think which will which will open him up for many more teams but I expect there to be a significant amount of interest uh earlier Yonder said Corbin Burns would be a great fit for the San Francisco Giants what do you make of that I think he’s right I mean look the the Giants have had trouble attracting hitters went in uh the try to get Yamamoto they they’ve been out there to try to get some of these big names even going back five six years Bryce Harper was a name on their uh on their list so I think the idea of if you can’t go get the big bat if you’re having trouble drawing them to San Francisco then go do the opposite let’s go get a great rotation and just try to pitch our way to Victory uh Burns would be a great fit there reportedly Yankees Red Sox they’re in a bidding war for Juan stto also potentially in a bidding war for pitcher Max freed what do you know yeah I think you know right now I think those guys at the top of the market are being held up a little bit by the sto situation and you’ve got some extra money to spend on other guys so um you know freed would would certainly fit with both of these teams they both need a starter um you know the Yankees would love to put him right behind gar Cole in the rotation and the Red Sox obviously have a young rotation and some really young talented guys uh but they would love that veteran to put at the top so I could see both those teams making a big push I would almost say if one of them gets sto I would make the other one the favorite for Max fre interesting all right Mark we appreciate the time and uh we look forward to hearing from you if and when well he’s definitely signing somewhere but once Juan stto makes his decision I know you’ll be part of our coverage thank you that would be an epic surprise if he did not sign somewhere would if he just wants to take this year off to mull over even more offers yeah I think you’re probably right thanks Mark Dodgers
