Dodgers Planning a Masterstroke: Nolan Arenado Trade in Sight?

Hey there, Dodger Nation! The offseason is heating up, and today we’ve got rumors that could change the trajectory of the upcoming season. Imagine this: the reigning World Series champions adding another superstar to the roster, straight out of Southern California! But before I reveal all the details, I want to hear from you: Would this trade make the Dodgers the most dominant team in MLB, or is the price too steep to pay?

Drop your thoughts in the comments, share this video with your fellow Dodgers fans, and, of course, subscribe to the channel to keep up with every twist of this offseason drama. Now, let’s dive into what’s shaking up the baseball world!

Nolan Arenado to the Dodgers? A Rumor Gaining Traction
According to MLB insiders like ESPN’s Buster Olney, the Dodgers are one of the teams that could pull off a blockbuster trade for Cardinals’ third baseman Nolan Arenado. The challenge? Arenado has three years left on his contract, totaling $74 million, plus a full no-trade clause.

But here’s the intriguing part: Arenado, a Southern California native, might be willing to waive that clause to join the reigning World Series champions and chase his long-awaited championship ring.

What’s on the Line?
The proposed trade would involve the Dodgers sending Chris Taylor to the Cardinals. Taylor, while a team icon and the 2017 NLCS MVP, had a down year in 2024, batting just .202 with a negative WAR of -0.1. Arenado, on the other hand, even in a season slightly below his standards, delivered solid numbers: a .272 average, 16 home runs, and a 2.5 WAR.

Arenado is also a 10-time Gold Glove winner and an 8-time All-Star. His presence at third base would not only provide an incredible rotation option with Max Muncy but also unparalleled depth to the roster. With Muncy dealing with physical issues and Freddie Freeman recovering from ankle surgery, Arenado could be the perfect insurance policy.

An Investment Worth Making?
The Dodgers are looking ambitiously toward the future, and adding Arenado to a roster that already boasts Freeman, Muncy, and Shohei Ohtani would send a powerful statement. But is it worth parting ways with Taylor, a player so vital to the team’s recent history, and absorbing part of Arenado’s hefty salary?

Dodgers Eyeing Devin Williams and Tanner Scott: What’s the Next Move?

Dodger Nation, let’s shift gears and talk about the bullpen. The team is exploring high-impact arms to bolster their relief options for 2025. But before diving into who’s on the radar, let me ask you: What’s more important for building a dominant bullpen – proven experience or a long-term bet on potential?

Let me know in the comments, share this video, and subscribe for updates on all the moves this offseason. Let’s get into it!

Devin Williams and Tanner Scott: The Names in Play
According to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya, the Dodgers are closely monitoring two top-tier relievers: Devin Williams of the Milwaukee Brewers and free agent Tanner Scott, who most recently played for the Marlins and Padres. Each brings unique strengths, but the front office has some big decisions to make.

Devin Williams: Excellence on the Mound
Williams, entering his final year before free agency, is one of MLB’s elite closers. With a career 1.83 ERA and a staggering 39.4% strikeout rate, he’s a true bullpen fortress.

Despite missing much of 2024 due to a back injury, Williams returned in peak form, posting a 1.25 ERA in 21 innings with 14 saves. However, with just one year left on his contract, the trade price might be steep, especially with other teams also in the mix. Will the Dodgers be willing to part with young talent to seal the deal?

Tanner Scott: The Top Free Agent Reliever
On the other hand, Tanner Scott is considered the best reliever in free agency. With a stellar 2.04 ERA over the past two seasons, Scott is projected to command a four-year, $56 million deal. His combination of a high strikeout rate (31.3%) and solid control makes him an attractive option, even with the significant cost.

The Dodgers have already spent big this offseason, bringing in Blake Snell, Michael Conforto, and Blake Treinen. Could Scott be the final piece to solidify an elite bullpen?

What’s the Next Step?
With options like Williams and Scott on the table, the front office must decide: take a calculated risk in a trade with the Brewers or go all-in with a major free-agent signing? Both players have the potential to transform the bullpen, but the price—whether in prospects or financial investment—will likely dictate the outcome.

Now it’s your turn, Dodgers fans! Would you prefer Devin Williams for his proven track record or Tanner Scott as a long-term solution? Drop your answers in the comments, share this video with fellow fans, and don’t forget to hit that subscribe button for more updates on this thrilling offseason. Let’s go, Dodger Nation! Go Dodgers!

over there with the UCLA Bruins how was that Greg that was that was great you know uh the the game didn’t uh go the Bruins way but to go out there with uh coach Foster and get that Jersey 24 World Series champion uh was pretty special and you never imagine when you step foot on a college campus uh in a dorm then you know years later many years later they’re honoring you at the Rival game it’s pretty crazy that is awesome uh we went to break saying that you just revealed you had a media screen from just over there uh some news regarding shy Otani and his status pitching this year oh no the the question was asked is he going to start in the uh Tokyo series and my thought was it’s just going to be too early of a ramp up and uh you know there’s a Innings limit a workload management part so to think he’s going to go wire to wire from Tokyo march to through the end of October is hard to imagine without a stoppage in the middle of the season so it’s one of those things that it’s right around the corner but uh we’ll read and react hey Dave before we jump into reality of now you got to turn the page and start focusing on this year I always felt like the most magical baseball moments were the ones that are most personal so when you look back at this what are could you mind sharing with us like the ones that were most personal to you through this journey oh my gosh D or the one that really stuck out you know I I I think the one that stood out the most there’s two there’s two and I I’ve never I’ve never even talked about this but I’ll tell this publicly which I I can’t believe I’m even saying this is um before game one in the world series Kik Hernandez told me after this series you’re going to the Hall of Fame so that’s something that just blew my mind and I didn’t even think about that and he was doing this and saying that for me um and the other one was in game five going out to the mound to uh put hands on Blake trining and look him in the eye and says that he’s got enough to get Stanton and um you know me on the top step thinking um am I gonna let him take that next hitter Verdugo uh not Verdugo get the next hitter uh and uh and then Freddy looking at me at first base going just stay there just stay there let let Blake throw 6 inches and uh I listened to my first baseman and stood down and uh Freddy made the right call well that’s what you do you could totally tell that you guys came together in a way and had some fire I’m going to take you back one series or or a couple series before that in the San Diego series you guys back against the wall stuff’s getting wild at Dodger Stadium Manny throws that ball at The Dugout it seemed to me then and there and then shortly after in the the the reaction of your team something shifted in in a way there and you guys stood tall from there on out Jake you you you’re right and and I I think that you guys that have followed the postseason and kind of my tenor my tone the theme of uh a street fight and the Padre’s are a gritty tough talented group and they like that dog mentality and and everyone knows it and it’s not an insult and that’s something that they feed off of and for us it was almost like we were methodical boxers and we’re used to boxing conventional through the 162 but when you get to the postseason you got to take those gloves off and street fight and and that point right there you can see the momentum uh once that happened uh our guys kind of rallied around each other and down 21 we didn’t bat and I it was a bullpen game game four and we beat CE that day and game five Daris do a heck of a ball game but you just saw that street fight come out in us and continue through the postseason it’s continued through the off season you got guys that just are not backing down you guys are wearing the Target that you now have we’re in Vegas Chris Young’s up on the stage with Mookie Betts and he’s like Mook you got all these Rings all these accolades what do you say to all these players in the crowd that never won a single world championship and he goes well you you have to wait seven years but then you’ll finally get another chance to win a to win a World Series you got Joe Kelly making comments on the New York Yankees like you guys you guys know you’re great is the goal now not just to win another one but do you have the feeling that this is a dynasty that you are you are like about to begin a dynasty with the Dodgers we feel that way um and I know Andrews talked a lot about he wanted to be the golden a of the Dodgers which the Dodgers have had a lot of great eras um you want it to be a place that people want to come to and obviously Blake Snell said that this is the one place on Earth he wanted to be um I think to your point Greg it’s the one thing to show some confidence in your yourself your team and the thing that I don’t mind about our guys because they back it with hard work and I think that you know being a champion and doing it what Michael Jordan did over the years or what Kobe did or what magic or Larry Bird you know those guys backed it up uh with a lot of hard work and I know that our guys will do that so speaking of mooki uh Dave you came out right at the end of the season and said hey mook’s going back into the infield walk us through what what the thought process there what does that mean is he go back to second base does he go back to short where where is this yeah Danny I I I think that the the landscape of the roster and obviously it’s I think it starts with Tommy Edmond you know we lock Tommy Edmund up and he’s a guy that can play uh he can play shortstop he can go to Centerfield go to second base and obviously Mook we see here mooki playing short stop and you know last year he just kind of came to us out of the blue and we talked to Muki uh in spring training and said hey man would you be willing to come from right field to play uh short stop and we’re going to slide Gavin Lux over to second base and he didn’t bat an eye and uh got to the ball feet work well uh the change in arm action the slots that’s what kind of checked them up at times but I think right now being able to kick Edmund back out to center field uh having Lux there at second base and then Muki there uh we feel good about it given mooki would have entire off seon to prepare mentally physically and the entire off seon pitching now obviously that was position playerwise you’ve you’ve loaded I know you were thin through the playoffs but now have you got the guys bought into a six-man rotation you you talked about sh making it wire to wire glass now never thrown over 130 are the guys kind of getting bought in and and is a six-man rotation something that we’re going to see I I I think that you know once sh gets back I I think that you know that that’s going to be six man or six day and then Yoshi noou I think we did a great job keeping him on his schedule um I I think the guy we just signed might have a problem with it Blake snow you know as far as kind of what he’s used to um so obviously we’re going to have some conversations cuz I think it’s just to your point Jake guys have bought into you know what hey 28 starts versus 31 starts it’s not that big of a deal and that extra rest will keep you frisky throughout October do think that we’ve had enough of a sample size from certain guys that they felt stronger going to the season we get Tyler glass now back so I think giving him extra days uh at times will also help so I think that kind of who we have will line that up remember there was a day when only the Dodgers would offer $700 million to a player crazy I mean in this bananas I asked him this question and both of them do you ever think there’d be a day in in your baseball life that one player would get a 15year contract for $765 million did you ever think that would be that would absolutely not I I I thought the contract Alex Rodriguez signed you know for what whatever that was I thought that’s just bananas and no one’s ever going to do that and Alex you know deserved it but uh where we’re at right now it’s uh it’s mindblowing but you know you know that’s good for the player it’s good for the it it’s showing that the game is thriving so that’s good for all of us right yep let me tell you who was thriving you dancing in Centerfield with ice I know they have that I hope you guys don’t have that oh no come on DOD so this is one of those things where people say hey I’m going to take my shot and so I’m sitting there going into Dodger Stadium and I’m in Centerfield I’m talking to along Rosen and we’re looking Ice Cube I’m like L that is like my childhood guy when I had my 1988 Toyota Tel and my 8 in speakers in in the trunk and then it’s blowing my license PL thing right now I’m listening to NW and Ice Cube and I’m like I’m going out there that’s my shot so then I’m out there and he’s like who is this crazy dude out here and then I was like dropping it and I was thinking it was a good day and my kids were embarrassed but it was like man hey you only you don’t know how many chances you get to win the World Series or be on the stage with Ice Cube and I’m going to shoot my shot remember there’s a day when being a big league manager would stress guys out they would Age fast you look younger and you’re cooler that’s great I don’t know how you deal with this man so here’s the thing I knew I was going to be on with you guys so I got it I I did a skin fade I go the skin fade right and then I shave so you don’t see the gray so you don’t see the goatee anymore Greg so that’s I’m on to you okay cuz if I get the grads and then the bags and then the gra like man this job is way too much for Doc Dave Roberts you’re a pure joy man the Dodgers they got a good one in you congratulations on the World Series peeve good to be back on stage and oh by the way Kik was right thank KK was right Dave Roberts everyone Dodgers planning a master stroke noan marinado trade in sight hey there Dodger Nation the offseason is heating up and today we’ve got rumors that could change the trajectory of the upcoming season imagine this the reigning world series
